Currently touring around the pubs in the area having recently relocated, so pleased we stopped here for a wonderful lunch in the glorious garden (beautifully landscaped with well kept and modern furniture) enjoyingthe atmos and valley views. We both had local beer (Tring Brewery) and a most excellent steak and caramelised onion ciabatta for £6! The service was welcoming and efficient and the locals equally so. This is currently our second favourite pub in the area and we will definitely be returning for an evening session. I highly recommend this establishment and urge people to use their local pub - two others a stones throw away from here on neighbouring ridges have closed in recent years 😪😪😪.

First time to the Royal Standard with family, Outside setting was very nice and was a nice day too, food good and a really great menu with a lot of choices, I have to mention the service we had from a blonde lady Dace (hope spelling is good) who engaged with our little one and she was making sure we are taking care of and we really had a great time, see you again soon.

We had visited Amersham a couple of days before and were not aware of an old town so went back to explore. The town was extremely pretty so we called into this cafe, which was immaculately clean and welcoming. The waitress greeted us with a friendly smile and we were seated. Gluten free choices were explained to my partner (which seems to be rare elsewhere) We ordered, and both thoroughly enjoyed our food and the coffee was lovely too, not bitter like some places. The cakes were 'naughty but nice' so we had to sample the offerings of course. We can highly recommend this cafe, for food choices, ambience and excellent staff. We would definitely return if we were in the area again. We Live in Suffolk, but were visiting family in Pinner for Mother's day weekend.

First off, the food was delicious. However, we were aware we only had a 2-hour time slot from 6-8pm for our table of 6 and the mains didn't come out to us until after 7pm. I then had to ask for our pudding order to be taken, and for the bill to be brought to us as it was already 8pm by then. There's no way we could have fitted a 3-course meal into a 2-hour timeslot at the speed of service being run. I'm aware that the pub was busy on Saturday night, but the restaurant seemed understaffed for the number of covers and bookings taken. We felt rushed and under pressure. It was the first time I had made a booking with a set end time, and it really didn't help the experience at all, which we left feeling disappointed.

Second visit to The Full Moon. was very impressed when I first visited the pub last year and think I wrote a report then. Today they had a special "Pie Day" for £15.00. This in my case was a beef pie though you could have chicken. The pie was great. Big and full of meat. It came with mash and vegetables. The deal also included a dessert. That was very nice as well. My wife and our friends had different dishes, Two fish and one chill chicken. They were very happy

Lovely lunch, great service and beer that tasted just perfect. I started with some really delicious sourdough bread with marmite butter and thai pesto, next was one of the most satisfying soups I had tasted in a long long while, a red thai curry soup that was both creamy and spicy. Next I had a tender wild garlic marinated chicken breast with chips and beetroot salad. Again sumptuously tasty, but with a flavour that reminded me of 'proper' chicken. Add to that, the meal was served by perfectly attentive, good humoured staff who really know how to their stuff. Well done!

I visited Merlin's Cave with a friend for lunch and was hugely impressed by the pub's aesthetics and the large choice of starters and main courses. Situated opposite the village green in the picturesque village of Chalfont St. Giles, Merlin's Cave is an ideal place to spend time with friends. If my experience is anything to go by, you will not be disappointed with the food, a mixture of traditional pub food and some tasty surprises.

Just enjoyed a delicious meal with St George’s day theme. Quality food served in the cosy dining room. Asparagus and sardine starters were beautifully cooked and very generous. Lamb shanks huge and beautifully cooked. Sadly no space for the desserts. Friendly young staff who looked after us well. This is also a regular stopover for walks as coffee and cakes are highly recommended.

We had a fantastic lunch on a Saturday from the moment we booked the table, when we informed the restaurant how many of us there were and that there would be a small child, they offered the use of a high chair without even being asked. On arrival, they had thoughtfully put our large table with high chair in an area out of the way and with plenty of room. Then we had the food, great home cooked pub food and plenty of it and all dishes piping hot. Nice choices on the specials board. Would recommend the Dumb Bell to anyone , and will definitely visit again if we are in the area again
