We went to the Boot & Slipper with our elderly mothers for lunch and was greeted by Luke who kindly found a quiet table with easy access. He was very helpful when choosing our order and as our mothers don’t have big appetites said they could have a child’s portion which was just perfect! Perhaps this could be rebranded as something for those of you who have a small appetite- applicable to young and old? We had the roast beef and pork both of which were delicious followed by the peach crumble and coffee and a small dessert, again delicious. I would highly recommend the Boot & Slipper and would like to thank Luke for his friendly, helpful service, although the other staff were lovely too. The fact the meal was such great value was an added bonus! We all look forward to another visit very soon 10 / 10

Lovely gastro pub with generous portion sizes and helpful serving staff. We were served by Luke who gave us a great recommendation for their lamb shank shepherd's pie.

Well that was a treat. Luke (our waiter) served us so well. The food was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed a perfect lunchtime meal.

Visited whilst staying in the area for some food. What a great pub! Sat in a lovely heated garden, staff were all really friendly and the food was delicious and have to say very reasonably priced. Signature burger is a must. Will 100% be back next time I'm in the area. Thanks all

Celebrated my birthday with friends. We had an excellent time and our server, Luke was superb.

First time today at this lovely Pub. There were 6 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Two of us had Birthdays and received a complimentary bottle of wine and a dessert. We were served by Lauren who was very efficient and lovely. We will be back.👍

Had a great Sunday roast, the chicken was absolutely huge. Luke gave us great service and was very accommodating of my grandmother who has difficulty walking.

A good girlie lunch .. Greeted nicely and no rush to order or eat .. I had a steak didn't want chips They changed it for other things no problem . The steak was cooked to perfection lovely eating and served with a steak knife lots of places don't.. we didn't have desert we had coffee and a mini pud the choices not really my cup of tea all very very sweet But my friends loved it and happily ate mine too. Definitely will return.

Place looks nice enough and the staff were attentive. Unfortunately my friend and I agree the meal we just ate was the worst we have ever had. Obviously I haven’t actually been into the kitchen but my guess is a bank of microwaves. ‘Crispy’ squid was anything but and barely lukewarm. My main was chicken leek pie. Cold. Veggies were annihilated and yet still cold. Sent back. Manager said she was sorry got us both a free drink and promised a new meal. When it arrived 5 minutes later (how can you make a fresh meal in 5 minutes?) it was very hot but tasted very unpleasant. Again veggies massively overcooked and ‘chips’ (potato wedges) were still lukewarm. My friends smothered chicken was a very strange taste - more teriyaki than bbq and cold frozen chips. Truly terrible food for the price. To cap it all once we paid and were leaving we heard the manager shout to one of the waitresses ‘did they pay’?!!! There are so many nice places to eat in Amersham and environs - don’t waste your money here.

On a warm Wednesday lunch time we wandered in from the car park and asked at the bar if we needed to wait for a table -‘no just sit where you like’ was the response. As we were about to sit, we were intercepted by a waitress who demanded to know what we were doing and were marched back to the entrance. Fortunately, having spent many years working in the former Soviet Union I recognised the importance of queuing correctly! From then on everything was fine. The lunch menu is good value and the food and no complaints about the service.

the pub was fab for a nice meal all the way from start to end it was great the waitress make the meal that bit better the whole meal was just so nice got it in a nice time and it was hot going back to my waitress Isobella she was just so very nice and helpful cannot thank her for being so good at her job

The whole experience spoilt our day. We had been looking forward to a three course lunch and coffee. It took half an hour from ordering for the first course to come. Then we had to ask for the second course. I had asked for my baked chips to be hot (I had experience with luke warm food there before). The chips were luke warm. I sent it back and they were replaced by fries instead of baked. I sent it back again and when the it finally came back, it seems the baked chips had simply been put back in the oven to heat as they were tough and some inedible. By the time it came my husband had finished his main course. It took an hour and a half from ordering for my main course to finally be presented to me, just as I was considering giving up and and leaving. After I finished we decided just to go. We were not in a hurry but an hour and three quarters, mainly waiting, made us gradually lose the will to leave. The servers were friendly enough and they took the price of my main course off the bill, but they were inefficient. They would bring someone their order, and go straight back to bar, looking neither left or right to see if anyone wanted service. And there seems to be no way for the kitchen to tell staff that food is ready. No doubt they will say they were busy, but I have seen them busier and it has never been as bad as this

Was here for a birthday meal, fantastic food, great service and atmosphere was good. Worth the visit.

Really were enjoying the refurbed Boot and Slipper last year and earlier this. However, last twice we have been the food in particular has been a let down. We chose the chicken burger from the mid week apparently slimed down menu. Came with skin on fries and 3 small onion rings. The "bacon" was so over cooked it just cracked in pieces, the "cheese" , of what type I'm not sure, gave the whole thing a slightly odd aroma to the brioche bun. Have to say it was just warm and had lets say, an effect that night and the following day. We thought we would try the apple pie and ice cream (coconut ?) . That wasn't ordered so I asked for the bill. The duty manager? asked if we would kindly wait for it to be ordered and she went off to find it. When it arrived the ice cream was ok, the apple filling luke warm but the pie, was just raw and inedible. So she knocked off the cost of the desserts and we left having of course paid what was asked. The previous time we went, only 2 weeks previously, the sea bass fillet was still raw when it arrived at the table. The waiter was the son of a friend and he immediately took it back when I pointed it out and bought out a whole new serving which was warm enough to eat. Both mains were taken off the bill. Afraid it will be a time before we return to the Boot and Slipper. Such a shame as we were using it quite regularly.

We both enjoyed our meals and our waitress was always on hand when required. Recommended

Great lunch time with my 2 kids. They have a treasure hunt sheed, amazing! We sat out side and have been accomplished by Beth, who has done an absolute outstanding job, from start till we left. The pub atmosphere speaks for its self, as nearly every table had been occupied. The drinks and ood came in time, and it was delicious! Standing ovation to the superb staff who had delivered a fantastic performance today. 👏

Have met up with family at the Boot and Slipper several times. The decor and ambiance is lovely. We have been served by Sally on more than one occasion. She is very professional and attentive, an asset to the business.

Service and atmosphere are usually great, but this time we were disappointed with quality of roasts . Meet and most of veggies were over cooked. Carrots were done nicely but some spices added, so kids refused to eat. I hope it is one off!

I arrived at the Boot and Slipper at 10:50 PM on a Friday night and bought a round of drinks. At 11 PM, we were told to leave as they were closing. The bar staff could have informed us about the closing time beforehand. I've been drinking at this local pub for a number of years, and I've noticed that the turnover of staff and rudeness has gotten worse every year. I will not be going back or recommending this place. Since COVID, the pub industry has been suffering, and this type of behavior is really not going to help get customers back. The owners should read "Customer Service 101" rather than focusing on saving taxes with EV charging points.

Stopped in here to have lunch before a family event. The pub from the outside looks amazing, efforts had been taken to make it welcoming and pretty. As we walked in we didn’t wait long for someone to come seat us as we had pre booked seats as there was 8 of us. The service was amazing, the person I believe was the manager was so good with us, played along with our jokes, was really good with the children. The food was outstanding. I had a mixed grill, a few others had the specials, and the smothered chicken. We all were in agreement that the food was outstanding. Not a thing would have been changed. The flavour of the mixed grill meats were stunning, without any sauce. If I had to pick, the chips were slightly underdone. When we visit the area again we will certainly be back. Thank you!

Have.nt been here for years as thought it was all round poor...visited in May 24 and was amazed how much better it was...Great food, coffee and fully stocked bar...Will come again..

We went for breakfast and enjoyed our visit, easy parking and a nice appearance to the garden, also nicely decorated inside, plenty of choice on the menu and the food was good. Initially we were the only people in the place at 10am on Saturday morning and deserves to be busier.. I was disappointed with the service though, quite a rushed welcome, had to ask for sugar for our drinks, had to ask for butter with my toast.. Our drinks had gone cold but staff were chatting and no one available to ask for more for about 10 + minutes. So no drinks till after we were finished.

Food was lovely went for the squid starter and the lamb shank inside a cottage pie food was great decent portions size

Cosy traditional pub not far from Amersham station. We wanted to get out of London for the day so decided to visit Amersham due to it's easy access located at the end of the Metropolitan line. We found this pub by chance when we needed cover from the rain and I have to say what a lucky find. The pub has a traditional look and feel with a warm ambience. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food traditional with that home made taste to it. For a good day out and to escape the grime and Manic of London I recommend a visit to Amersham and Amersham Old Town and for an even better day out I suggest you visit the Boot & Slipper and experience some traditional warmth and hospitality. I believe that in these modern times we shouuld support traditional pubs like the Boot & Slipper because when they're gone they're gone for good along with what they contribute to the local community.

This is my best pub by far and not just locally! Ben is a great pub manager who not only knows his customers but also knows his staff very well. The boot is a very warm welcoming pub that can cater for all types of events/functions and of course the occasional pint. The food is excellent too!

Nice pub. Very busy on Saturday. Had reserved, table available but right in the middle, fortunately another table became available and upon request we were re-seated to the quieter area. Food quality is very good and great selection of wines and cocktails ( incl non alcoholic ones). Prices ok'ish but very good if you use Tesco vouchers. Tables have cande lights but these are not lit... Had to request several times...

Visited with my wife's Aunt, there was a good range of choice both food and Ale. We were well served across the courses and drinks, I am sure we will go back.

Excellent everything! The best bit was that they accommodate gluten free diets brilliantly! I managed to get a whole roast with gluten free Yorkshire pudding and gravy!! Which is so rare! They are going above and beyond so I really appreciated it

Our server, Sophie, also heard my sister mention that it was my birthday and so when bringing out my dessert, put some birthday candles in my dessert, which was another lovely touch. All around, it was a wonderful lunch and the menu had something for everyone. Thank you for a lovely lunch, we’ll definitely be back again! :)

Fantastic pub!! Absolutely perfect except the cask beer was clearly open for longer than 4 days. But that's okay, just similar to oil.

Sunday I came I after a meal and bought a drink about 10:45 and within ten minutes was asked to leave very rudely by two members of staff who wanted to go home. You should always have at least 20 to enjoy your drink if not pre-warned. Foul customer service.
