The food was nice enough but we were put off by the floor that clearly hasn’t had a good scrub in years.

Some seriously good food. Standard is far higher than alot of gastropubs we've tried and its been consistently great for a number of years. Based on a recommendation we received, my friend and I tried The Three Oaks for a weekday lunch. The pub is an attractive building with a decent amount of parking at the front, which was very welcome. The menu had a pretty good selection, but we were tempted by the brisket on the set menu. The set menu is terrific value, offering three courses for £25. All three courses were absolutely delicious, especially the brisket which was perfectly prepared and presented beautifully on the plate. The chocolate brownie and dulce de leche ice cream dessert was unsurprisingly fabulous too. The wine selection includes some incredible options. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about them, and it turns out that the owner is very passionate about wine, with an infectious enthusiasm for finding great value fine wines. What I love is that he is offering fantastic wines to his patrons at extremely competitive prices. For example, several bottles were available at lower prices than the best price you can find on the internet! So, if you are a wine connoisseur (like my friend), or enjoy exploring recommended fine wines (like me), you can really enjoy great wine with your meal safely in the knowledge that you’re getting a bargain. Why does the owner have such low margins for great wines compared to other restaurants? It’s because he wants to share his passion, and obviously it’s good business to delight his customers. So, in summary, just for a simple Friday lunch, we had easy parking, friendly and professional service, fabulous food at a great price and fairly priced fine wine. What more could we ask for?!

Went to the Three Oaks on a Wednesday Evening which happened to be steak night . We had been taken there by some friends for my husband birthday . My husband and I shared the Chateaubriand, which was possibly the best I have tasted . Our Australian waitress throughout the evening had a sarcasm in her tone , and when the bill was asked for , she asked if we would be splitting it , to which our friends said no this was their Birthday treat . Then she proceeded to announce the total bill which was £200 + to us all sitting at the table This clearly then put us in a slightly awkward position and also our friends to which this was suppose to be a treat . We all felt this was extremely unprofessional. This aside the food was extremely delicious .

Probably the best dining experience in Gerrard's Cross, exceptionally well thought out menu, with a great value lunchtime set menu (highly recommend). I've eaten here since it opened and it's always been consistently good and worth the extra cost, only a shame it's not bigger so they could have a proper pub crowd as well as the gastro side of things. Unfortunately the drinking side of the pub is now all mostly gastro, but they do serve a very decent pint out of service.

Been here several times now, it’s worthy of a place on the regular haunts list. The atmosphere is a nice mix of modern and traditional, decent outdoor space and well spaced tables. Service is decent, knowledgeable and attentive, the menu is inventive and offers some variations on well known ingredients. My only criticism of the chicken dish I had (Chicken with gnocchi & oyster mushrooms) was that the quality of the chicken was not good enough to carry the dish, presentation and other ingredients were good but the chicken was quite hard and dry. Don’t let that put you off, otherwise we had a very pleasant lunch.

I would usually always score the Three Oaks a 5 for food, ambience and service and always recommend them to others but today they were all over the place. I don’t know how it happens but 8/10 we are sat opposite the kitchen door which makes for very distracting table conversations. The Muzak was bad 1980’s pop - horrid. The service was ok but someone needs to train the new staff not to lean across the table to serve but walk around to the person. And when we are asked how the food is not to offer a double thumbs up! Seriously this is not professional. The food was very good - thank goodness - except for the very long dark hair found in one meal (the price of this was removed from our final bill - thank you). As usual my complaint was that as a non dairy eater I had a choice of precisely one item off the dessert menu. I have mentioned to staff before that this restaurant is better than this and that the pastry chef really needs to come up with some dairy free/vegan choices. I did get an off menu choice which was excellent but feel that these days a choice should be standard. And finally could someone speak to the young waiting staff about getting up just that bit earlier so they can give their hair a brush or comb! The staff here have previously been so well turned out and today they all looked like they had just fallen out of bed, even the senior staff had running shorts on. Is it just me or is this just lazy?

I need to apologise for taking so long to write this review... and yes, I am talking "years"... guess I have been too selfish and simply indulging in everything The Three Oaks has to offer by myself (and more recently with my fiancée). This is hands down the best gastropub you will find in at least a 5 mile radius (and likely a heck of a lot more)! Beautiful, cosy and well designed venue married with (i) the most friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff (a special shout out to WESLEY), (ii) incredible food & (iii) a wine list fit for the finest sommelier! Another really exceptional evening at The Three Oaks with great food and service. It was busy (week before Christmas) but the team went to great trouble to ensure everything was just right and the service was speedy, attentive and extremely friendly. It was great to have the Christmas menu as well which made for a festive treat. It was my birthday too and the birthday plate was a really lovely touch. Food terrific, wine selection great and something for everyone. The highlight was the Vadouvan spiced parsnip soup, which was absolutely phenomenal (and I really do mean, unbelievably good!). There are some great places to dine out in the lovely area of Gerrards Cross, but I am confident in saying that the Three Oaks takes the crown for the best. Thanks so much to Henry and his team for the continued hard work, and ensuring that they provide such great service. Looking forward to the next.

Amazing food, such a nice vibe, staff is always incredibly friendly. Food is seasonal, changes every month and the flavours the chefs put together are so unique! Love this place. It's become a regular for me and my partner.

We've dined here a few times in recent months and even on a busy Saturday night the staff still manage excellent efficiency - and the food is always very good indeed. Particularly like that tables are well-spaced apart so everyone is not on top of...

It is a beautiful, warm, and inviting venue with fantastic food and great service. The resident chef definitely knows his stuff. I had the classic sausage and mash. It was brilliant. The deserts were also amazing. Thank you.

Met my brother for lunch, half way for both of us. Well worth 160 mile round trip. Both the calamari and mussels starter were delicious. I would go as far as to say the mussels were the best I've ever tasted. I opted for fish and chips main. The quality of the fish was sublime, big fat chunky flakes of cod, almost creamy in texture that melted in my mouth. My brother ordered the seabass, after clearing his plate he commented, perfect sized portion. I even managed dessert , albeit out of nothing more than pure gluttonous greed. The cherry tart also received a well deserved thumbs up. Loved the atmosphere, especially the amount of dogs in the bar. Little gem of a place.

Some kind of joke. Booked a table for Fathers Day at 12pm. Seemed ominous when we arrived (10 mile Journey with 2 kids) and it was still closed at 11:55 with no sign of any life from within or the kitchen. Sat in garden until 12:10 then called them. Apparently “Jane usually opens before 12”, and “who said we’re closed?”. Could take no more of the farcical situation and left to find a place with far more accommodating staff with a level of competence. I’m sure this place may have been good at some point in time but whoever runs it now clearly has either zero customer care or is being seriously let down by whoever should be running it. The gardener is doing a great job though!!

The front of house staff were amazing and friendly, really helped with our needs. Unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing. The food was not very good, not what it was mentioned to be as described on the menu. The food that was cooked properly tasted very good. Atmosphere was ok but the tables were too close together and the chairs and table we were sat at were very high like bar stools and not very good for children. One of us had to wait for a new meal while everyone else ate. The price was high for what we had to eat and no discount was offered or taken of the bill for the food that was sent back.
