The best restaurants serving British food in Queen's Park Brighton and Hove South East

Had such a special evening here. What a warm, loving place with fantastic food and quirky heartfelt music. Can’t wait to come back!

Excellently cooked cod with a good crisp. They had place and haddock, but that had run out (we arrived to eat at 3pm on a hot Sunday). The food took a bit longer than expected to arrive - but was very worth it. All the food arrived together - hot. They shout out the names of the orders, which isn't the best system, so listen out. Special mention to member of staff, Pam, who ensured the comfort of a heavily pregnant member of our party - Pam was absolutely fantastic.

Fantastic little place, framed beautifully within its own narrow street with the sea at the end. Lovely outside seating area and quirky decor within. Great beers and wines with cocktails as well. The staff are friendly and cool. It's a great place to enjoy company or just stare wistfully at tge sea.

I was pleased to see the cafe open again after it was closed for my last visit to Brighton in July. Sad news about the previous owner. I had a lovely breakfast and the service was fab too. The music gave a very relaxing atmosphere. I came back again today and everything was as good as yesterday. I'm glad the cafe is back and I'm liking Hervé's signature he's added to the place. *************************** Visited again 6 months after my initial review and Hervé's is still as fab. Lovely quality breakfast. The bacon and toast are great quality which make a breakfast but love, love, love the mushrooms. The service is great too. Looking forward to July when I can visit again.

Sunday roast is great - and abundant. No room for dessert for me, but others in our party had no problem. Also good for mid-week lunches or dinner if you don’t feel like cooking. If they have ribs on as a Special, they’re excellent, as are their curries. As a plus, the venue is dog friendly, which always gets a thumbs up from me.

I walked past this place on the way to do my washing. The door was open, so having heard good things about it, I thought I would come back for my breakfast. I came back at three minutes to nine, the door was still open, I was told that they didn't open till nine and I should come back later. So, as there were a number of alternatives in the street I went elsewhere.

Bar didn’t open despite having an event scheduled. No communication from the manager. No lights on. No contact. Our event was even on their website. Had several people messaging the Facebook and calling the number and nothing back. Poor. Do not book an event at this awfully run establishment. Disappointed is an understatement.

We were in the restaurant and had Sunday Roast… a vegetarian and a vegan! It was absolutely delicious and the pub was so cozy! Great atmosphere, really nice service and great beer selection. Really great and recommended!! We arrived at about 5 and were lucky with the space! It certainly makes sense to make a reservation!

Lamentablemente llegamos tarde a nuestra reserva debido a una mezcla con los tiempos, pero todavía aceptaron nuestra reserva, por lo que estamos muy agradecidos. Afortunadamente el tiempo estaba de nuestro lado, la zona de estar fuera era tan cómoda, las bebidas eran muy razonables (7 libras por cóctel) y el servicio era rápido y eficiente. La comida se veía absolutamente increíble, ya almorzamos - así que nos destriparon que ya no podíamos soportar más comida, pero basado en la estética solo, recomendaría encarecidamente comer aquí! Además eran uno de los pocos lugares en Brighton que aceptaban despedidas de soltera / hag estábamos tan contentos. Creo que algunos grupos dan mala fama a las despedidas de soltera, pero como no tuvimos ningún problema, creo que estaban contentos con el dinero que pusimos detrás de la barra. En general, sin duda volvería aquí de nuevo cuando visite Brighton y sin duda probaría la comida la próxima vez!

Nos alojamos en un hotel a la vuelta de la esquina. Decidimos ir al kemp a tomar una copa, el personal del bar es encantador y nos sentimos muy bienvenidos. Era un buen ambiente y era un ambiente frío agradable si quieres unas cuantas bebidas tranquilas. También tuvimos una cena de asado que era un buen precio y el tamaño de la porción era increíble, realmente encantador se obtiene lo que paga y más recomendaría para un asado de domingo!

Absolutely wonderful hen do breakfast with friends- the space downstairs is lovely albeit very very warm! But wonderful service. There was 10 of us, we pre ordered but all drinks came quickly and all the food came out at the same time!
