The Thomas Kemp in Brighton and Hove

Nos alojamos en un hotel a la vuelta de la esquina. Decidimos ir al kemp a tomar una copa, el personal del bar es encantador y nos sentimos muy bienvenidos. Era un buen ambiente y era un ambiente frío agradable si quieres unas cuantas bebidas tranquilas. También tuvimos una cena de asado que era un buen precio y el tamaño de la porción era increíble, realmente encantador se obtiene lo que paga y más recomendaría para un asado de domingo!

Precioso pub gran servicio. Vino a tomar unas copas. Muchas bebidas de abeto. Y un menú muy bueno que incluye aperitivos de bar, que fue una gran idea

Met in here with group for a birthday and really like the place and atmosphere however I don't know if they were shirt staffed or emwas just busier than expected but took forever to get served and the gent behind the bar really seemed as if he didn't want to be there not smiles or interaction also not recognising the order in which people approached the bar by both members of staff which as an ex member of bar staff really winds me up. Mac cheese good size but salty. Popcorn chicken bites way overpriced and dry. Whitebait was good to be fair. Would not eat here again myself

We came in as a group and it was lovely! The food was top notch, came quickly and the staff were all really friendly.

Really nice venue with welcoming staff and good beer - I had roast beef with all trimmings and loved it 10/10 - my wife enjoyed her fish n chips but slightly critical (she is a cook so maybe a bit hard to please!) - thank you to The Kemp.

The Wednesday Haddock and chips special is the best fish n chips ive ever eaten. The Haddock was extremely fresh, perfect batter and the chips are a meal in themself, super crunch with a rosemary salt.

On Sunday 16th Feb, In a last minute decision we were lucky enough to get a table here at The Kemp! Dan (I think I remember his name?! Sorry if I’m wrong) took my call and was so accommodating! He provided fantastic service and was attentive throughout our visit. The food as fantastic! I had the chicken which was so delicious, with rich gravy (we got an extra boat it was that good!) all the good stuff including red cabbage and sides of large pings in blankets! We will definitely visit again and I’ll be sure to book in advance next time as we were lucky to get that spot! Sorry the review took a while but even two weeks on I’ve thought about that roast! Excellent Roast, both pork and beef, generously served hot. The selection of vegetables were great and well seasoned. Delicious yorkshire pudding. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We will be coming back soon

Fantástico ambiente bueno era fantástico, sin duda recomendaría. Varias edades de niños pequeños a nosotros los ancianos, extremadamente ocupado, pero el servicio era genial. Muchas gracias al personal de la cocina en 4 comidas separadas todo caliente y mucho para comer.

Un agradable asado de domingo - probamos la carne de res, cerdo y pollo - todo muy bueno de hecho. Real ale en borrador (Timothy Taylor) y una buena carta de vinos - el Sauvignon Blanc chileno cayó bien. Las mesas en la parte delantera no son tan cálidas como las de la parte trasera del restaurante. La única mosca en el ungüento era un pequeño perro feliz que era un dolor adecuado, pero es un perro - lugar agradable...

Had a Sunday roast here. A big group of us with 4 babies. The staff were really friendly and prepared a space for us to put pushchairs. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was great.

Such an eclectic place! I fell in love with it the moment I entered. You will feel at home whether you are an Alternative, eccentric, eclectic or just simply a person. Serves food of good quality, has such helpful staff and an atmosphere you will wish to absorb!

I attended Sunday evening for a roast dinner, the new chef has definitely brought some amazing flavours to the table. My friend & I both had lamb which was absolutely Devine, an assortment of seasonal vegetables & delicious roast potatoes. 10/10 we’ll definitely be back, thank you

Had a Sunday roast here yesterday and it was amazing, the staff were really accommodating and lovely especially as they had a really big booking in, everything was amazing, couldn’t recommend the place enough!

Nos encanta un buen ole Sunday Roast, y hoy mi pareja y yo fuimos a uno cerca de casa hoy, 'The Kemp'. La comida, hecha por la nueva cocina Elektrik Picknick, era tip top. Opté por la opción vegetariana de Champiñón, Calabaza y Queso de Cabra Wellington, estaba tan sabroso , suelo optar por la opción de carne pero estaba muy contento con mi elección. Mi compañero disfrutó de la carne de cerdo, que estaba muy contento con, que se veía bien con un buen crepitar. Todas las verduras se cocinaron a la perfección: zanahorias, repollo rojo y verde y patatas asadas no decepcionaron. El gigante Yorkshire Pudding lo remató y se juntó bien con la salsa. Teníamos algunos extras de cerdos en mantas y queso coliflor, que eran una adición deliciosa. Fue agradable que se le diera la opción de extras, aunque la comida sola era sustancial y archivante. Estábamos demasiado llenos para el pudín esta vez, pero voy a volver a probar el pudín de toffee pegajoso o pastel de queso horneado seguro. El servicio era tan amable y acogedor y todo el lugar agradable y abierto con grandes ventanas en la parte delantera y trasera para que no te sientas aplastado. Recomendaría encarecidamente este pub, es un lugar igualmente agradable para ir, como estábamos, en pareja, pero como también tiene mesas grandes es bueno para atender a grupos más grandes. Ambiente relajante, gran relación calidad-precio, comida fantástica.

Popped in whilst passing on a Sunday for a quick drink decided to stay for the roast. Absolute banger of a roast…The best I’ve had for a long time. Staff very pleasant and what was a very nice touch was the chef taking the time to come and speak with each table individually. Will definitely be back.

¡Adorable! Tuve el domingo asado con un amigo y fue encantador. Tuve el enganche del vientre de cerdo estaba delicioso. Probé el queso de coliflor de trufa también y esto fue muy agradable! Mi amigo tenía la opción vegetariana y realmente lo disfrutó también! El ambiente es genial y se adaptaría a pequeñas fiestas o reunión familiar. El personal era encantador y la comida súper deliciosa!

Went for Sunday lunch without a booking but they fitted us in despite being very busy. The waitress Jo was super helpful and ensured we got gluten free options. The food was fabulous, good quality lamb and loads of vegetables. Decent red wine. Would recommend.

Went for Sunday Roast . My first roast since change of kitchen here. I had the Beef Sirlion. Extremely high quality of beef . ( I always judge a new roast from the quality of the beef). It was soft and tender with a lush velvety gravy. The Yorkies were well risen crispy but not over cooked with delicious added herbs. A decent selection of seasonal veg and nice crunchy roasties. I got a sides of truffled cauli cheese. Cheesy awesomeness. Sad I couldn’t finish the generous portion. I’ll be back to sample their weekday menu soon! . — at Thomas Kemp.

I’ve been going to the Kemp for some years and it’s in the best shape ever! It’s a really cozy pub with a beautiful outside space, excellent food and the best Quiz in Brighton with Al. Jo and the bar team always go above and beyond!

This is my favourite pub in Brighton and I have been coming here for about 20 years and consider it as my "local". The staff are constantly lovely, the food is excellent and importantly - the clientele are almost always very, very nice too - it's not rowdy, or boisterous and it has literally THE BEST QUIZ NIGHT on the planet EVERY TUESDAY NIGHT - since 2018! Epic roasts, great vibe - just chill. Pop in.

Ignore the fancy food on their website. That no longer exists. Just basic pub grub. Lured by said website and faced reality we just left.

Absolutely amazing food, the vege roast was one of the best we’ve tried and the service was just as fantastic . Can’t fault it in any way - we will be back

There’s a new kitchen at The Kemp so went to check it out. The food was delicous! Big portions, options for vegetarians and vegans, the fish and chips had gluten free batter, which was really yummy! The staff are also lovely. Great for a good pub grub with an atmosphere.

This best roast dinner and service I’ve ever had in a pub! We popped in last Sunday as a walk in for two and were really seated quickly with a smile. We didn’t wait long at all, we felt, for the food but when it did arrive The Chef came over too and apologised for the long wait. Let me stress, we’d not waited long at all! The food was absolutely incredible, I’d highly recommend the pork and vegan roast (vegan and gf Yorkshire puds…what more do you need?!). Whatever the kitchen team is doing they should definitely keep doing it! Couldn’t have asked for better service either, the staff here are amazing. Thank you all! We’ll 100% be coming back :)

Very nice bar/pub/restaurant. The server was really helpful and on the ball. I had the chicken cassoulet which was delicious! my only negative is when you go downstairs to the men’s loo - from the doorway down it needs a good clean and some decoration/freshening up- it feels neglected and spooky down there. Other than that… it was a very pleasant experience I would go back any time.
