First time at this restaurant. We went yesterday afternoon. We was given the afternoon tea as a gift. Was not sure what to expect, but the service from the moment we were given our table, to getting the drinks and our food was exceptional. Ruby was our server and was attentive throughout, professional and courteous. The food exceeded what we expected. Full of flavour, and more than enough for 2 people. Pudding was served when we were ready and came out hot and on hot plates. Enjoyed the cocktails we ordered with our meal. Would definitely recommend and will go back again.

Today We was served by Alfie. One of the best customers service ever. The quality of fish and chips is exemplary. I will definitely recommend Harry Ramadan to All. You defo need to try.

Got there at 7:45 for a take away, only to be told they’ve stopped taking orders. Closing time 8.00pm

Very friendly staff. Can't fault them at all. We travelled down to have the fish and chip afternoon tea. And wow! A lovely treat, and came with dessert which I wasn't even aware of. Definitely worth the money. And would return when in the area again.

I’ve had both good and bad experiences eating here. I ordered fish and chips for takeaway on both visits. The portion sizes were great both times, which I really appreciated. The first time, I really enjoyed the meal. The second time, however, the cod was so overcooked that the batter was very flaky and the fish inside was extremely dry. Since I had already left, I didn’t go back to ask for a replacement. Now I’m hesitant to return in case I end up with another dry cod.

Came here with my husband and kids, was served by Ollie who was sweet and knowledgeable (and very handsome!). Food was delicious, crispy batter and fluffy chips, the best I’ve had in a long time! Would highly recommend, Ollie and the team were lovely.

Disgusting service! Left us standing there from 6.30 till 6.50 so they could tell us that they close at 7 and that we where too late. Absolute joke of a place

I ate an excellent classic fish and chips, the frying was light although a little too greasy but still good, even the fries had a nice golden colour. I liked the fried prawns in batter a little less, you are served quite quickly and the staff is friendly, mostly young people. Excellent I can recommend to taste the classic British cuisine.

Compré los vales Buyagift para Fish and Chips Afternoon Tea con una copa de Prosecco en el famoso restaurante de Harry Ramsden en Brighton frente al muelle. ¡Fue increíble! Algo un poco diferente. Se presentó en puestos de té escalonados con una variedad de platos incluidos. ¡Incluía dos postres diferentes, que estaban deliciosos! Podríamos pedir bebidas adicionales de su menú y tenían un precio razonable de £ 5. 99 por un cóctel. El cargo por servicio era opcional. El personal era amable y servicial. Muy recomendable.

Service was very friendly. We had the regular haddock with tartare and mushy peas. £15+. The price is high for so much competition around. With the menu claiming that the fish is fried to order we did not enjoy why the food came out luke warm, both fish and chips. This was not enjoyable. We enjoyed the batter and taste of the fish although bordering onto cold. The chips were just the right amount for regular size. Their quality was good too. So for the price so far it was going well. The tartare sauce like others said was very good and recommended but it comes as standard anyways. We would eat here again if we were feeling flush. Being new to Brighton we had to try it once at least. We would this time send the food back if it wasn’t hot.

I recently visited Harry Ramsden’s in Brighton and left with mixed feelings. I ordered a large fish and chips meal via their app, which included tartar sauce and mushy peas. While the fish was nicely cooked and the chips were quite satisfying, the overall quality was underwhelming given the hype surrounding this iconic chippy. The tartar sauce was a standout - rich in flavor and definitely the highlight of the meal. In contrast, the curry sauce was disappointingly bland, lacking any flavour. We also tried the fish burger, which turned out to be merely average, but the scampi was a pleasant surprise with generous portions and a satisfying taste. However, it did come with too many extra chips, which felt a bit excessive. Their Halloumi bites were delicious, even then they only brought a few pieces first and 15mins later they brought three more pieces. They seemed little disorganised. Service-wise, the staff were courteous and helpful. We experienced a minor hiccup when our order was delayed - after 25 minutes, we were informed of a problem with their digital queues and told the food would arrive within the next 10 minutes. They delivered as promised, which was appreciated, though it didn’t fully make up for the other issues. One final letdown was the cutlery. Initially, the set we received was dirty and covered with food marks. After asking for a replacement, the new set was similarly unclean until we requested a proper cleaning. Despite the longstanding reputation of Harry Ramsden’s and the allure of their famous fish and chips, I found the meal to be overpriced for the average quality provided. I left feeling that my local chippy offers a far superior experience, and I’m unlikely to return in the future.

Even though the sit-down restaurant had many available tables, we were given a 40 minute wait for a table, so seems like staffing is an issue. We went to the take-away counter next door, and only one of the 5 mandatory use electronic ordering kiosks was functioning. However, about 10 minutes after ordering, our food appeared with malt vinegar and salt available for free (all other condiments are a separate fee and must be ordered in advance). Prices above average, fish was excellent , fries were good (not crunchy) and very large portion. No seating in the take-away area at all. Overall fine but wouldn't go out of my way to this particular place to be honest.

Hemos estado aquí un par de veces. Me temo que después de esta visita probablemente no volveremos de nuevo porque aunque el servicio era bueno la comida no lo era. Gerkin para mi esposa no se corta tan difícil de comer. Gravy, aunque sabroso, estaba en un recipiente muy pequeño y tenía muchos grumos en él. Las patatas fritas se veían y sabían horrible. De color marrón muy oscuro, suave, distendido y con un sabor extraño. Era como si hubieran sido cocinados hace siglos y mantenidos calientes. Las salchichas en la masa no tenían una capa de masa crujiente. La mesa estaba pegajosa y el piso estaba sucio. Necesita una buena limpieza. Esto fue justo después de su apertura, no más tarde en el día. No me quejé en ese momento porque el personal estaba muy ocupado. Cuando pagamos no nos preguntaron si todo estaba bien. Probablemente buscaremos una tienda de patatas fritas más pequeña cuando estemos en Brighton. Nuestro chippy local en Fulham produce chips de mejor calidad, salsa y salchicha por el mismo precio.

We have been here a few times. I’m afraid to say after this visit we will probably not come again because although the service was good the food was not. Gerkin for my wife not sliced so tricky to eat. Gravy, although tasty, was in a very small container and had lots of lumps in it. The chips looked and tasted awful. Very dark brown in colour, soft, floppy and had a strange taste. It was as if they had been cooked ages ago and kept warm. Sausages in batter did not have a crispy batter coating. The table was sticky and the floor was dirty. It needs a good clean. This was just after it opened, not later in the day. I did not complain at the time because the staff were very busy. When we paid we were not asked if everything was ok. Will probably look to find a smaller chip shop when we are next in Brighton. Our local chippy in Fulham produces better quality chips, gravy and sausage for the same price.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Would highly recommend. Took 20 mins for the order to arrive but that’s what you should expect for fresh fish and chips.

We attended the restaurant this evening and had this been our first visit it would have been our last! The attention to detail from the waitress was not at all to detail, they forgot the order before even leaving the table. We ordered cod and chips and in one of the meals found several large bones had this been at the begining of the meal I would have left it so grateful more towards the end. When we spoke to the waitress it was dismissed quickly and as if it was an inconvenience. They came across as not caring and very dismissive. Such a shame as a previous visit was a completely different experience.

It's good, but there's better. It's a somewhat legendary fish and chip restaurant, but it's a little expensive for my taste. The place is pretty good, very close to the sea, and not too far from the center.

The staff were fabulous, particularly Karina. The food was very good, but would have been better had it been served on warm plates. Because it wasn’t it had cooled down before I finished it. But I found the background music rather irritating and anything but relaxing.

Fish was wonderful and the serve was as well. The chips tasted like the oil needed to be refreshed, otherwise all was very good.

I found this place while looking for fish and chips in Brighton. The staff is very friendly and you can also order via QR code if you feel uncomfortable. Among the sauces, the pea sauce is delicious~

This was my first time at Harry's and what a joy. We were served and looked after by the beautiful and highly professional Ruby. She was informative, attentive, and on point with the allergy information. She was exactly what a staff member should be. Harry's give that lady a raise.

Great food. Nice and friendly staff ... however, the room feels cold, and I have had that unconformable feeling of not being able to remove my jacket. So, despite food being great, it feels not cosy.

20 January 2025 We had a delicious fish supper at Ramsdens this evening the chips were tasty snd haddock crisp served with a delicious pot of tea. Our hosts Katrina was super lovely very attentive and proffesional. The rest of the team Harrison Jenson Ollie and Sam also made the evening special. Thank You we will be back soon!

Tuvimos una experiencia de "té de la tarde" que elegimos utilizar mientras visitábamos Brighton. Nuestra reserva fue a las 12: 15 y al llegar el restaurante estaba prácticamente vacío. Durante nuestra visita llegó un puñado de personas, pero dado el tamaño del restaurante se sentía vacío y tristemente, como resultado, carecía de ambiente. Además, pasamos un fin de semana particularmente frío y ventoso. El restaurante era tan frío en todo, incluyendo los baños, que no era ideal. También estaba un poco cansado. El té de la tarde en sí fue agradable. Disfrutamos de nuestro plato principal que consistía en unas patatas fritas, salchichas rebozadas, pepinillos rebozados, aros de cebolla rebozados y un pequeño trozo de bacalao en un bollo de hamburguesa, junto a unas salsas y guisantes machacados. La comida era sabrosa y caliente, pero se enfrió rápidamente debido a la temperatura del restaurante y las últimas piezas estaban por lo tanto frías cuando llegamos a ellos. El prosecco era más que bebible. Nos sorprendió que esto también incluyera algunos postres. Estos no fueron de nuestro agrado (buñuelos de plátano con natillas) y algún tipo de pastel húmedo, pero eso se debe puramente a nuestras propias preferencias personales. Todo el personal era atento y agradable. En general, tuvimos un buen tiempo, pero no nos apresuramos a volver a este restaurante en particular.
