Harry Ramsden's World Famous Fish & Chips in Brighton and Hove

Excellent food. Excellent service. Would highly recommend. Took 20 mins for the order to arrive but that’s what you should expect for fresh fish and chips.

We attended the restaurant this evening and had this been our first visit it would have been our last! The attention to detail from the waitress was not at all to detail, they forgot the order before even leaving the table. We ordered cod and chips and in one of the meals found several large bones had this been at the begining of the meal I would have left it so grateful more towards the end. When we spoke to the waitress it was dismissed quickly and as if it was an inconvenience. They came across as not caring and very dismissive. Such a shame as a previous visit was a completely different experience.

The fish is immaculate could not find a fault so meaty and moreish what an excellent meal!!

It's good, but there's better. It's a somewhat legendary fish and chip restaurant, but it's a little expensive for my taste. The place is pretty good, very close to the sea, and not too far from the center.

I found this place while looking for fish and chips in Brighton. The staff is very friendly and you can also order via QR code if you feel uncomfortable. Among the sauces, the pea sauce is delicious~

Fish was wonderful and the serve was as well. The chips tasted like the oil needed to be refreshed, otherwise all was very good.

The staff were fabulous, particularly Karina. The food was very good, but would have been better had it been served on warm plates. Because it wasn’t it had cooled down before I finished it. But I found the background music rather irritating and anything but relaxing.

Went for the afternoon tea which was very good. The member of staff Alfie was friendly and welcoming, would go again

I had a fantastic experience at Harry Ramsden’s! The food was absolutely delicious – perfectly cooked and full of flavor. What really stood out though was the service. Alfie took care of us and made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. His friendly and attentive service really made the meal even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon. Highly recommend!

This was my first time at Harry's and what a joy. We were served and looked after by the beautiful and highly professional Ruby. She was informative, attentive, and on point with the allergy information. She was exactly what a staff member should be. Harry's give that lady a raise.

Great food. Nice and friendly staff ... however, the room feels cold, and I have had that unconformable feeling of not being able to remove my jacket. So, despite food being great, it feels not cosy.

Extremely friendly and helpful host Ronnie followed up by insanely fast food delivery and tasty meal by chef Jenson. 10/10 service couldn’t recommend any more, best fish and chips in Brighton.

20 January 2025 We had a delicious fish supper at Ramsdens this evening the chips were tasty snd haddock crisp served with a delicious pot of tea. Our hosts Katrina was super lovely very attentive and proffesional. The rest of the team Harrison Jenson Ollie and Sam also made the evening special. Thank You we will be back soon!

We tried afternoon tea fish and chips it was really delicious and it was enough for two people. Absolutely worth the price, the desert was really tasty. The service was great we asked for more mushed peas it was totally really good. Clean and the food was fresh.

Great food and pudding was a bonus. I will do it again. Right near the seafront. Alfie was brilliant and welcomed us making the experience even better. . We will be back soon.

This was 2nd time to come to the same restaurant. Nice fish and chips as last time we had. Never feel disappointed with its fried fish. I like cod, although haddock is its famous one.😋😋 Not busy because neither lunch nor dinner time. So, no waiting. However, I don’t know why this restaurant looks like short of hands. There was only one staff for order taking, cashier, and table cleaning… he was very very nice and friendly. Great staff! I remember we come last year the same season… there was only 1-2 staff to service customers too. Hope they were paid well😉 (Rated 4 stars for service is not because not great service but for not enough number of staff for service.)

Friendly welcome, fast service and the “fish & chips” was very good with good value for money. You have at your disposal cutlery, napkins, salt and vinegar. The take-away bag is very durable and thick so it doesn't leak everywhere. THANKS. I recommend +++. The best fish and chips in town!

We Thoroughly enjoyed the food here. We ordered the fish and chips and the chicken and mushroom pie and chips with gravy, the pie looked homemade and was absolutely delicious. Loved it!

Excellent service, particularly by our waiter Harrison R who was extremely helpful and polite. The food was also very nice and served quickly.

There for the Afternoon Tea for Two, we were greeted by Alfie with a friendly welcome. He and Ollie looked after us very well, explaining the items on the menu which were varied , delicious and freshly prepared. Altogether a pleasant treat and highly recommended.

Came down to Brighton to visit the toy & model museum then decided to have fish & chips for lunch. My friend and I had the Club 60 set meal which was more than enough and very tasty too.

What a lovely surprise our visit to Harry Ramsden in Brighton was. We booked and paid for the meal by Wowcher and we wasn't too sure what to expect. We were greeted by a lovely staff member and they professionally explained what we were to expect. The Fish and Chip afternoon tea was lovely presented with some wonderful tasty surprises. We will back next time we visit Brighton.

I am a fish and chips professional connoisseur. In Yorkshire , it’s a thing of pride. I can honestly say, the best fish and chips in the south of England (lived down here 30 years). The best by a mile and rival the Yorkshire coast. Service was matching. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed

Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Ollie and Alfie's friendly service added to the enjoyment of our meal.

Harry Ramsdens has gone down hill. The feel of the restaurant is basic, not like it used to be. The table wasn't cleaned properly, the cutlery was so-so. The young lad serving was actually very pleasant and trying his best. The food.....fish actually nice, but the chips were disgusting. Had a funny flavour, were definitely re-heats and were just not enjoyable at all. The prices were typical HR, but without the quality and style that Harry Ramsden was famous for. Very sad to see such a good brand in severe decline
