Had Sunday roast. Meat tasted ok, but everyone's meals were swamped in watery, bland gravy that unfortunately made for a soggy meal.

Had the roast beef, really generous portions and beautiful flavours! Staff were really smiley and helpful and the food came out pretty quick. Would recommend trying this place out I’m still thinking about the roast potatoes 2 hours later!

Been here 3 times, delicious and kind staff every time with a great garden. One of the best roasts I've had, and the nachod are amazing.

Perfect Sunday roast. Pigs and blankets and coliflour cheese. Friendly staff and good value drinks. Big improvement on the roasts since I was last here!

Very disappointing. 1 meal was mushroom, spinach, brie Wellington which was not a Wellington it was more like a pie and had no flavour, couldn't see any mushrooms or spinach or taste of brie it was very glupie, 2nd meal was roast pork which was very tasteless. Roast potatoes was burnt one side and no colour on the other sides and no flavour and no rosemary, 1 carrot each was not roasted, 1 parsnip each was definitely not roasted, cabbage was just stalks, when asked about green beans we got told they are in with the cabbage.... They definitely was no green beans and no roasted beetroot of which I was told by the server she saw him put them on the plate,they were not on ours. The server said she will speak to the chef and maybe we could come back next week and try again, we were offered a drink and we declined and we will not be back an offer of a refund of one meal would of been nice which I suggested.

What a fantastic pub, we live just around the corner and moving close to the crescent is one of the best parts of coming to the area. The food is fantastic and at a great price, especially on their 2-4-1 burger Wednesdays! I also cannot speak highly enough of their roasts, I recently had the pork with some pigs in blankets, and quite honestly, it was one of the best roasts I’ve had in some time! The atmosphere is great also! A good crowd, friendly locals, and the staff are chatty, friendly, and welcoming. Lara is a particular highlight of the staff, she’s always smiley, fun! It’s a pleasure to see her behind the bar.

We booked lunch here on Mother's Day. Despite it being one of the busiest days of their year, Lauren bothered to call us the night before to ask us what we'd like to order so that she could make sure we got we what we wanted. A really kind gesture much appreciated!

We were 8 people on a Saturday night , we were looked after really attentively by the staff who expertly waiter served us in a ‘order at the bar’ type pub . The food was great pub food and everyone from the no-alcohol people to the serious beer drinkers was well catered for . Such a great evening !

Great pub became a regular after moving in down the road, bar staff are awesome and the food is great ( ham egg and chips simple but done to perfection) and if Abby is working she is a great laugh will put a smile on your face even on a Tuesday 🤣

My server Abigail was very friendly and accommodating, answering questions about the menu and bringing our drinks promptly. The Sunday roast is very tasty and usually quite busy (might be good to book) with a lively atmosphere, full of children and dogs. An awesome pub with great staff! Remember to tip your waiters x

Brilliant pub. Very friendly staff, great food and a lovely sunny beer garden.

Overall it's a fairly cosy place with decent outside space, but it's got progressively scruffier over the last few years sadly, and the clientele with it. It needs a spruce up and an improved food offering.

Great pub, went for burgers where Lara behind the bar made great efforts to accommodate allergies and make sure we were sorted. The quality of the pub is shown by the busy atmosphere on a Wednesday night. Would recommend to visitors and locals.

Amazing atmosphere and and a a fantastic service from the staff , not tried the food yet but the menu looks apatizing , toilets kept clean and no pongs . Five star 🌟 this pub has become my local .

Really friendly staff and a great find. There is quite a big garden in the back that unfortunately has no heaters but still a very attractive pub with a large selection of drinks. Would recommend if you're looking for a pub away from the crowds.

Just a good solid pub which is nicely in reach of Seven Dials and suburbia. It’s bigger than you’d expect if observing from the outside and there’s a nice garden and some seating out front too. There’s normally a couple of ales on too at about a fiver a pop so not so bad. Of an evening it has a calm candlelit type feel to it which is nice. A solid local boozer that has stood the test of time. Always nice to see.

This is a friendly, cosy pub in the Seven Dials area with a quiet patio garden. Boasting three good local ales and a wide selection of wines and spirits, there is plenty of choice for all served by friendly staff in a great pub atmosphere. The food is typical pub fare, well presented and tasty. Recommended.

Not sure about day to day menus..but they do a 2 for 1 burger night every Wednesday. There is a good choice and the burgers will rank amongst the best you have had!

We were staying nearby on a Saturday night and just popped in for a quick drink, and ended up staying for a few! Good beer, good selection of whiskies and very friendly bar staff

We were looking for a place to eat but all the Seven Dials pubs were busy and the restaurants closed, then a light bulb moment took us to this pub. The service was alright, nothing outstanding. But the food was great - we both had salads and you could tell some effort had been put in to them. Although the table next to us ordered the burgers, which looked amazing... as we tucked in to our plate of leaves.

Enjoyed a couple of drinks and and shared a bowl of chips in this cosy traditional pub, had to wait to get a table as very busy but no bother as they have standing areas .friendly staff very welcoming in a nice area of Brighton.

Lovely pub, cosy great environment, nice area to seat outside and work on my laptop with no issues. Nice range of people that go in there while I spent day to day working in the sunshine. Plus fantastic area for a sun trap, and keeping the wind out. Also had a good Sunday roast, food was great. Plus my dog loved the extra meat they gave her. Me and my pup got 5 star service. Bar staff are friendly, and like to check in with customers with No pressure, to see if everything okay. Would highly recommend.

£15 for two small pieces of grilled chicken on a burger bun, with a load of greasy fries is absolutely shocking. The kitchen has really gone downhill recently. Beer selection is terrible, but the wine list is very good. Friendly staff and the sunny spot outside is all that rescues this pub.

This pub is not far from me and as I had a day off I thought I'd check it out. The music was dreadful And involved the Spice Girls. The staff were friendly but I had singularly the worst meal ever here. A veggie burger from the freezer that tasted as though cooked on a dirty grill nestled in the cheapest burger bun known to mankind.The salad was fresh though but it was an experience I will never repeat.

My friend and I went on a Wednesday for the 2-4-1 burger deal. What a disappointment!! We ordered 2 burgers one with a gluten free bun, after ordering we were told that they no longer serve GF buns so it would have to be wrapped in a lettuce leaf. My burger came out and the bacon was so under cooked the fat was still white/clear. I asked them to cook it a bit more for me and they took it away and returned it in exactly the same state. I was informed that the bacon is pre cooked with a dismissive shrug....I don't want to eat uncooked bacon!! All over a pretty rubbish experience. £14 for 2 burgers is very cheap....you really are getting what you pay for

The Thursday night Jamaican food was 100%. Generous jerk chicken portion, perfectly cooked with great marinade. Amazing plantains with all the sides perfectly seasoned. A definite repeat is on the cards. Faultless!

I’d heard good things about the roast so was looking forward to it, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. The veg was placed in a giant yorkshire pud, which although looked nice made the yorkshire too soggy. The roast potato’s weren’t very roasted. The pork belly was ok, but a bit fatty. I normally love crackling, but it was too hard to bite through. I liked the carrots. The portion was too big. I would much preferred quality over quantity + a smaller portion is easier to manage on the plate & avoids waste. My husband has spoken very highly of the roast at the Walrus, but he said it’s got worse each time he’s gone (this was his 4th roast). He said it’s completely changed each time. The staff were very nice. Only 1 roast was accidentally put through when we ordered instead of 2. We didn’t realise the mistake until only 1 roast came out. They gave the 2nd roast half price, which was appreciated. I think I’ll stick to just drinking there in the future.

Called at this great looking traditional pub for an after work drink. Staff very welcoming with advice on local beers. Only thing that let this great pub down - we sat just inside the door and there was an awful stink (drains).

Only ever had their take away lunch box sushi deal which has been amazing! looks small but so filling.

I love this place, not just because I live so close to it, but because the food is great. I love the italian garden (as i don't have one), it's a nice place to sit and have a drink on my own or with my children. Always friendly here too.

The vegan nut roast was disappointing - dry, flaky, not much taste to it and very salty. Served with pots and veg, including 2 whole beetroots. My friend had the chicken roast - leg but no breast or stuffing.

Excellent prices, great cuts of meat and fantastic service via friendly staff. We had the pork belly Sunday roast - highly recommend, the crackling was crispy, there was far more pork, than belly fat, and the meat was lovely, tender and tasty. I felt that one portion was enough for two people, so also great value for money.

Can't fault the roast here. No red cabbage, and green vegetables. Portion size is perfect, gravy is consistently good. great value for money....

Sunday lunch was a lovely plate of food - veggie wellington was very tasty, accompanying veg all beautifully cooked and generous portions. I liked the little touches like a sprinkle do black sesame seeds on the carrots. Wish the prices were just a little tiny lower, but maybe that’s the world we’re in now unfortunately. Going out is getting less affordable. Anyway, if you’re not counting the pennies, the Sunday lunch at the Crescent is excellent and it’s a nice vibe in there too.

Surprisingly good burger - I’m always a bit dubious about pub burgers as I’m gluten free and the buns are always hit n miss, but this was delicious and the burger perfectly cooked, fries were good too. Easily this was better value and better quality than Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Five Guys experiences I had recently.

I've had Sunday lunch here a number of times, both carnivore and vegetarian and all have been delicious! The roast beef is succulent and tasty and the vegetarian Wellington is stunning. A very cosy and welcoming establishment off the tourist beat. I highly recommend the cauliflower cheese as an optional side.

Good communal vibe with a great mixture of seating options (from a table for 2 to large groups of 10 or more). Excellent service.
