Fantastic pub quiz, the guy who runs them on Tuesdays is very funny and charismatic. Bar staff are a bit stand offish, one guy in particular. Drink prices have also been put up in recent months. £2.90 for a small glass of tap lemonade is insane but it is Brighton so there you are. The food is great, the wings especially are delicious. The pub itself has a great atmosphere, the decor is lovely and the bathrooms are clean.

Not enough beer options, no porter, no stout. Corn fritters were not to the standard the price would suggest. The chicken burger was not a burger, it was more like a chicken sandwich so, it was all style really. The pie was also chicken and a little disappointing too. The place looks nice and interesting, the service was ok and it's very easy to get to from the station. Kid friendly during the day, but no high chairs or kids menu.

Great pub with lots of separate spaces, friendly staff and great food

Worst Caesar salad ever. It was served in a kind-of soup-bowl, and was mainly lettuce. The added chicken (at 3.95!!!) was two pieces of flattened leather. The American Cheeseburger was miniature and horrible. Upon visiting the toilet I discovered a sign which said 20% off your meal if you order a main course. It was also written on a card at the table. But ONLY valid if you tell the wait staff upon ordering!!! So its a kind-of "secret" special that you only get if you happen to go to the loo or read the table card! Wow. On a slightly positive note, the chicken wings were great!

Excellent. Very well staffed by quick and efficient people. Different lagers, not your run-of-the-mill Carling or Kronenbourg. Also - probably one of the best looked-after and maintained pubs that I've had the pleasure to visit.

I booked my 50th Birthday party at the Nightingale function room upstairs at the Grand Central. Having done my research, I don't think there is a better function room in Brighton to hire. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating. They also answered all my emails really promptly which was really reassuring. It meant all I had to do was turn up and have a blast! I can’t recommend the venue enough!

It was a 50th birthday party. I bought a lot of drinks. Staff were very busy and remained happy and polite.

Surprisingly good pub, despite being so close to the station . Spacious, good choice of beers, and reasonable prices.

A nice place for food and drink though does not serve food on a Monday, however when there is food there, a good option to have something for early evening. Good views over the station front area where the buses turn. Near to the trains and some of the hotels here as well, would come back at some point to try out other menu options here.

This is a great little pub located right across from the train station. We got there right after opening, and the place filled up pretty quickly. Lovely bar staff who were friendly and efficient. We ordered Welsh rarebit which turned out to be basically a cheese toastie. A good one, though. Lots of colorful folks popping by; a great place to spend an hour or two.

Had a great night here, but it was a bit too hot upstairs. One barmaid downstairs was lovely, the other was quite possibly the moodiest cow I've ever been served by. Bar staff upstairs were fast and friendly. A good place to go, just avoid the moody Debbie Downer blonde girl on the ground floor!👍

Popped in for a bite to eat on a Fri night. Nice pub with good atmosphere. Had a burger which tasted very similar to a famous fast food chain and only a small step up in quality. Was also pretty small and at £17 very poor value. Disappointing. Won't be eating in a Fullers pub again

A great pub located very close to Brighton The hidden garden up the stairs at the rear is a great find of visiting this pub. A good selection of lager and beer but if ales are your thing the "star" pub nearby has the most selection.

Lovely place to visit! My first time back to Brighton in 40 years and this was my first place to stop for a drink great welcome! - nothing but compliments. Janine the Manager was fantastic. I Will be back again!

I came here on a sunny afternoon and went straight up to the roof terrace where a DJ was playing chilled Ibiza tracks. We were lucky with the weather and spent a lovely afternoon listening to music and catching up with friends. The food was good and the staff were great.

Expensive, poor food. Expensive beer. Few food options. Tiny portions. Not recommended.

It's a well run train station, with lots of staff on hand to help, clear boards so you can see what platform you need. Perfect!

We had our dog with us and so sat upstains on the terrace. Millie was very happy with lying on the floor while we had a pint. Great beer, friendly staff and good atmosphere. It was quite cold bu there are heaters you can turn on to stay warm. A great find.

Busy, friendly bar by the station, quite big inside with raised booths by the windows which are quite nice if a group of you.

Excellent broccoli and Stilton soup. Design your own burger - burger cooked well and actually tasted meaty. Both a perfect lunch order.

It's an OK pub for a quick pint but expensive staff are all preoccupied and place is looking old and needs a good clean

My partner and I hosted a joint birthday party in the Nightingale Room upstairs. Such a lovely space with its theatrical theme and booth seating. Jen and her team couldn’t have been more accommodating both beforehand and on the evening itself, and we and our guests had the best time! We just brought along a laptop and plugged it into the PA system and that was all that was required to get the music going. If you’re looking to host a party, I’d recommend hiring this room, especially as the pub is so conveniently located for Brighton station.

This is a welcoming and friendly pub, with some good local history. Varied range of ales, beers and lager on sale, plus cocktails. We two opted for the gammon, eggs and chips for lunch, and it was well cooked and tasty. Good service from the barman and staff. Very well located for the main shops and almost adjacent to the mainline station terminal - Recommended

Thanks so much to the super friendly and helpful staff for the reservation, we had a fabulous night on the roof terrace, 8 became 18 and everyone was impressed by the setting and atmosphere. We had such a good time we were the last to leave - apologies to the staff for keeping them there so late… just all having too good a time 😊

In all my years coming to Brighton it was my first time coming to this pub. Its right off the train, lovely pub great choice of cider and wines, they also were doing a lunch deal any sandwich with a pint, great idea if your waiting for a train or just arrived.

Arriving at lunchtime, we were straight off the train and into here! We were not disappointed. Delightful staff. Bottle of fizz and some veggie nachos were very well received. Went down a treat.

This pub won't allow you in if you've a shopping bag with pasta and a bottle of wine . They also now won't allow you in on a football day , unless you have a Brighton season ticket. Their excuse for not allowing a shopping bag is it might contain alcohol but the irony is they only want you on match days if you are consuming alcohol. I've spent a lot of money ( I have a lot) in this poxy boozer with zero atmosphere because my apartment isn't far but they are off my list. Brighton has over 800 pubs and crap ones are just that. As people get poorer with utility bills I'll be spending my money somewhere less obnoxious.

Off the train and into here. Really friendly welcome on a sunny day. Loads of beers to choose from. Passion fruit IPA was a winner for me. And Dark Star was a definite favourite too. See you again next time I'm in Brighton.

Really lovely vibe in this place, pleasently surprised as so close to the station. Passionfruit pale ale is amazing and the food is perfect for nibbles. Lovely place!

I had a superb visit here at the weekend. Given the venue was very busy, I was welcomed, served a drink, and given a menu immediately. I had the roast beef, which was lovely. I literally rolled out of there as I was so full - just the way Sundays should be! I’m pleased to say that the kitchen have clearly taken on board previous reviews on here, as my roast beef and all the vegetables etc were piping hot. The service was superb. Each time I went to the bar for anything/another drink, Tamsin served me and was a delight to deal with. We had a great conversation, and I learned that she was the deputy manager, and was new to the venue. She is clearly an asset to the company.

Perfectly positioned for the station so we called in for a drink and lunch yesterday whilst waiting for a train home after a lovely weekend in Brighton. Staff were friendly and the choice of beers was great. We ordered two roast beef lunches which at £18 each wasn’t cheap but we thought would be excellent quality. Unfortunately it took quite a while to arrive but when it did the portion size was generous to say the least. Several slices of lovely pink roast beef, roast potatoes, carrots sliced and puréed, parsnips Yorkshire pudding a generous jug of gravy and two side dishes of cauliflower cheese and red cabbage. The big disappointment was that the meal was no more than lukewarm. What a great shame but with us needing to catch a train we didn’t have time to send it back to be reheated and left the pub with only 9 minutes to spare before our train. Hopefully this was just a bad day for the kitchen and such a shame as the portion size was worth the money and quality seemed good. We had to leave most of the meal untouched to catch our train.

A gang of 7 of us were in Brighton for a reunion. We had lunch twice in this pub, which was convenient and friendly. The drinks were OK as was the food, even though the triple cooked chops could have done with one less visit to the fryers!

Went for a few drinks with friends. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Nice range of beers. To top it off they have a nice outside terrace, very rare for a town pub. Nice surprise. Enjoyed our visit, definitely will return.

I have wanted to stay here for a long time. Booked for a Sunday evening which was excellent value. Arrived in Brighton at 11.30, parked up and walked past the hotel, spoke to the doorman who advised us that we could check in straight away which was a bonus. Room was nice, service friendly and efficient and the Victoria Bar almost takes you back in time, very elegant. Really enjoyed the stay and would like to stay again

Excellent covid restrictions in place. Lovely service from Louis and Beth, they made us feel very welcome and safe and explained the rules efficiently and in a friendly manor. 10/10 keep it up!!

Visitamos hace unas semanas cuando el pub volvió a abrir y fue una experiencia muy agradable de principio a fin. Tan pronto como llegamos, se dejaron de lado las inquietudes con respecto a la situación actual, ya que nos recibieron de una manera deliciosamente amistosa y quedó claro lo preparados que estaban para reabrir al público.Nos quedamos toda la noche y hundimos algunos, no comí pero algunos de mi grupo sí y la comida se veía muy apetecible.Debo señalar una vez más lo amable y profesional que fue el personal y, para mí, esto significa que siempre estaré a favor de una visita cuando esté en esta parte de la ciudad.

Desde el momento en que entramos, sabíamos que este lugar se toma en serio las precauciones contra la pandemia. (Y aplaudimos el esfuerzo.) Nos recibieron con grandes sonrisas y nos dieron la bienvenida a la terraza de la azotea y simplemente nos perdimos en el hechizo de Brighton. La comida se sirvió exactamente según nuestros deseos y los miembros del personal fueron muy atentos y realmente agradables. (¡Asegúrate de sujetarlos!)¡Mucho carácter, limpio y el lugar perfecto para relajarse y pasar un buen rato!

We hire the upstairs room for my Daughters wedding reception,what a fantastic place,from start to finish the staff were polite curtious and bent over backwards to make sure this special day went without a hitch.Thankyou all xx

Closest pub to Brighton train station, but does allow for people who want to stay longer. We went in for a drink before our train home early Saturday evening, bouncers on the door by 7pm and all drinks served in plastic cups because Brighton FC were playing at home. Prices reflect convenience of location.If you are here for your drink for the road, it does the job.

Late lunch before football - our sharer dishes accidentally sent to a function upstairs but staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful and replacements arrived very quickly with complimentary round of drinks. Everything delicious and will definitely be visiting again

Esperamos un poco nuestro tren a casa alrededor de las 11. Las 30 de la noche del martes por la noche y nos sorprendió un poco que este fuera el único pub que todavía estaba abierto en ese momento. Otras personas tuvieron la misma idea que nosotros, que pareció sorprender al chico detrás de la barra por sorpresa, ya que de repente estaba bastante ocupado.Sin embargo, hizo frente, tomamos nuestras bebidas y tomamos nuestro tren después de una breve espera.

We love coming here. Staff are always really great, super dog friendly and the Sunday roasts are epic. Best roast in Brighton. There’s nothing here not to like.

We called in to this wonderful pub on the weekend of PRIDE. . Fab location, Great atmosphere and friendly staff. We all decided to have the Sunday roast. It was delicious. large portions and plenty of everything. There was a duo performing, they play on a Sunday lunch time each week, the girls voice was effortless and some great song choices. Deffo go back next year!!!!

I called to book the private function room for my birthday next March and wanted to have a cheese board instead of the traditional buffet. There was absolutely no flexibility whatsoever from their buffet menu and they wouldn't give me any other solution at all.I organise events for a living and deal with requests like this on a daily basis and know this makes zero sense.Such a shame as I was ready to confirm as really like the space.

La comida era excelente, el servicio era bueno y, por supuesto, venden buena cerveza (ya que es un pub de Fuller). La sala Nightingale sobre Grand Central es un lugar excelente para una fiesta. Es una habitación de tamaño decente con su propio bar (especializado en ginebra), aseos y guardarropa. El catering proporcionado era decente también. Necesitan arreglar el asiento del retrete en uno de los inodoros, pero no hay quejas de lo contrario.

A nice enough pub and a fab gin and tonic but a very unfriendly, dreary bartender! She responded to nothing we said, Didn't smile once while serving us. Clearly didn't like dealing with the public. Visited on Sunday 27th Jan 2019.

Went there for lunch and was very disappointed with the service received along with the size of the portions when the food was delivered. The staff behind the bar were the dead-eyed variety with absolutely no social skills. When the food was delivered I was almost confident there was a mistake and we accidentally ordered from the children's menu. The halloumi burger was small, came in a brioche bun for some reason and there were hardly enough chips on the side to feed a small child, much less a grown adult. It was also the same price as the beef burger which makes absolutely no sense.

Hacía bastante frío, pero hay calentadores que puedes encender para mantenerte caliente. Un gran hallazgo.

We hired the Nightingale Room upstairs for a 40th birthday celebration. The room was excellent for this purpose with an area for a DJ and a private bar. The two female members of staff looking after us were excellent. The canapes provided for the party were very good.

Good beer but Sunday roast was sub par. Too many other places that have so much better food. It is close to the station to pop in for a pint

We had rented the room on the first floor for a private birhtday party from the late afternoon till 2 am. It was nice, the staff was very kind,the food was great (Franck, the cook, is very good). But then, by 1 am, they decided they wanted to close, although the agreement was till 2 am, and they literally put us out, very rudely, taking away our food and drinks from the tables, they rushed us outside. And by mistake they increased the bill by 100£... the security gard was pushing us in the stairs to go out. So rude and agressive. Never never go there. Never.

Nothing great, nothing bad. This is a typical pub locale, VERY close to the Brighton station. Relatively quiet, subtle decor, kitchen in basement(?), relatively clean. Signs address attention to allergies and server asked before placing order.

Meeting a few friends in Brighton, the grand Central was a great meeting point. Straight off the train and in to the closest pub. It wasn't the cheapest of places. A pint of lager and an energy drink cost near enough a tenner.

My boss hired the function room for his 40th and it did the trick nicely! We had our private bar upstairs which had a good range of gins, beers and other spirits. The service was a little slow and prices seemed closer to London prices, but still a great night was had.

Amazing little place. Super beer selection beyond the Fuller brand. Rooftop is cute and amazing staff bring food up the tiny stairs. Food is excellent. From lamb burger to banoffee cheesecake. Love it.

Este es un agradable pub Fullers con buena cerveza y comida, y es muy conveniente para la estación. Vine hace un par de años en el camino mientras cambiaba trenes en Brighton. Estuvo bien, pero no me impresionó demasiado, pero ha tenido una renovación y ahora es muy agradable. Un grupo de 5 de nosotros con edades comprendidas entre 59 y 73 se reunieron allí recientemente un viernes para el almuerzo y una charla por la tarde. Hay una variedad de cervezas que están bien cuidadas. El menú es bueno y el Haddock y patatas fritas que cuatro de nosotros tuvimos fue excelente, entre los mejores que he tenido. Just had a great Sunday Lunch in this pub. I had roast pork which was an ample portion not 2 slices like some places. My friend had roast chicken which was half a chicken! The Yorkshire Puddings were delicious and the whole meal was an larger than average portion with a variety of fresh veg along with the meat and potatoes. The price is with what I would expect to pay for a Sunday Roast in a nice pub. I will definitely return.

My son booked this for a bit of a do. Thjey found they were double booked so we had the room upstairs for 4 hours which actually was enough. However they did supply some bottles of proceco as part compensation. There is a bar upstairs and it very good as a function room. Food can also be ordered and they have a music system all set up. All in all we had a very good time.

Was in brighton for the weekend and was staying with a friend who lives round the corner from this pub.

On a layover at Gatwick airport (on our way to Spain) we took the train to Brighton. Had to have some fish and chips.

Solemos alojarnos en el hotel ibis más o menos al otro lado de la carretera, así que siempre parecen entrar aquí por un par de copas. Parece un pub agradable con el personal del bar y un bonito jardín en verano. Teníamos un asado los domingos y está bien, pero puedes conseguir algo mejor y más barato. En general no es un mal pub para visitar con los amigos.

Well where do we start, let's just skip to the ordering process, I was at the bar ordering the guy taking the order did not know how to place the order on the till, he could not find the buttons, ' I have been here two months I learn the till and then they go and change it placing the order at the bar took no joke about 10 mins, now let's go through the order, I ordered sausage roll and scotch egg to be sent while the mains were being prepared and stated it both at the start of ordering and the end anyway on to mains a beef sandwich, chicken club sandwich a beef burger and a chicken burger with 2 sides of chips and onion rings 32 mins pass and outcomes the sausage roll and scotch egg, I took a walk around the pub as I was getting a little annoyed, only one other table had ordered. I asked the same guy who took my order are they all now coming together or how long will the mains be. He replied I'll check. Then back to the lift he goes standing there with 3 other members of staff. The sandwiches come up the lift with one portion of chips they are taken to the table 5 mins after the sausage and eggg 5-10 mins pass the other two meals along with chips and onion rings have not arrived I sit there in full view of the lift as I watch the guy messing around and pulling the back of the managers hair playfully while the two burgers and onion rings are sitting on an open lift again for about 1-2 mins, I then go over to confront them and state do you really think it's acceptable to be acting like that in full view of the customer who is already a little ticked of, the manager gives the usual pass the buck on attitude rather than just stating sorry shouldn't have happened, anyway a bit bored now with the story, we went to the bar stated we did not want our food and just asked for a refund and left without eating. I am still a little shocked at how we were treated and certainly will not be back again.
