The best restaurants serving British food in South East

Quick trip across the Solent to the island, end up here again for a Sunday Lunch. As be fore was prefect good food and good service. Will be back

I have been going to this Toby Carvery for years for lunches with my 92 year old mother. I have never had a problem with parking the car and the staff are always great. We last went there as a family of 8 people on 7th April. However, 12 days later I received a letter saying I was being fined £100 for parking my car to eat Lunch! It seems that recently Toby Carvery have employed Euro Car Parks to rip off their customers with extortionate parking charges. There was no mention of this by the restaurant staff when we arrived to be seated with the rest of our family or when I paid the bill. I hadn't expected there to be any changes to the parking arrangements. The staff are always very courteous and I am sure if they had mentioned anything about the parking we would have done whatever was necessary. Equally if anything had been included on the booking confirmation for the table mentioning changes to parking arrangements it would of been helpful. I've tried calling the restaurant but haven't been able to talk to anyone as yet to see about getting this charge removed as I was a pre-booked customer.

Food prices are amazing the services was impeccable was a great visit would definitely come again. Marzenawas amazing

The manager was unprofessional on arrival talks rude Won't be coming back Wr drove 45 mins with 2 kids only to be turned away on a quiet evening as we were 10 mins late and also I was greeted with yes my friend!!??he was racist rude and very very unprofessional

We visited the Oxford Services during our journey and found it perfect for a quick and tasty stop. The place had a calm, pleasant atmosphere, and Claudiu’s warm and helpful attitude really stood out. The pizzas were freshly made and full of flavor — a great way to recharge before hitting the road again.

Buffet is perfect and loved the self service however the communication and service given from Calym was amazing, he kept us talking and continuously cleaning our plates when we finished. Super hard working chap. The food itself was decent for a buffet and a lot of selection for not only us adults but the kids too, would definitely come back, thank you again for the brilliant time at the restaurant and resort overall.

What a wonderful pub and restaurant. From the time we arrived we had excellent service and delicious food. It was really busy, as it was Easter Sunday, but we could not fault the attention we received. The starters and Sunday roast were fantastic. All of the staff were very friendly and the pub had a great atmosphere.

I went with family for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised that they let dogs inside. The cooked breakfast was perfectly cooked and very nice too. The staff are very friendly and polite. The establishment was very clean and is worth a visit.

Lovely food absolutely amazing and quick service everyone was very polite and welcoming, would recommend to anyone looking for good food and very good drinks, the new landlord sean is incredible and giving the pub a nee lease of life

Pubs ok waited 90 minutes for our meal as they did not sent through to kitchen not the first time had to wait for food no discount offered

Really enjoyed our late lunch at Savill Garden, with great service from the very amenable staff, followed by a lovely springtime walk in the gardens.

Update: until the service improves I wouldn’t visit there anymore. The management there are not interested in service and overall it’s a regular negative experience. located coffee shop in the Didcot orchard centre. Lots of seating so plenty of space to relax with a coffee. Service is generally ok apart from one of the older staff members, maybe the manager? who is often engaging with conversation with colleagues rather than focusing on the customer. Would be great if the services steps a bit which previously was excellent

Wetherspoons usually offer good food etc. however I ordered the Breakfast sadly the egg looked poor the sausage seemed on the raw side and other than the beans the breakfast was only warm. No staff to talk to and going to the bar the breakfast would only get colder. Not the usual Wetherspoons experience fortunately.

What a lovely meal we had! Beautiful day , outside with kids playing in the small kids area. Food was good, a bit slow but was all good. Garden was full as well. We came this past Friday 25th April, we had chicken Caesar, fish n chips and kids burger all lovely. We have been served from a manager we didn’t get his name . We will be back! Thank you

I used to love coming here for breakfast or lunch but the past year it has definitely gone downhill, I’m sad to say. Used to love the full English breakfast but this is no longer on the menu. The paninis and salads are overpriced and not very good quality. My Cappuccino was almost cold today. Even the ice cream wasn’t great! I don’t know what happened here, maybe a change in management but I won’t be returning
