We booked up to take my sister out for lunch here on Saturday 2 November at 13:00. The place always seem busy which is a good sign that many people enjoy eating/drinking here. I can only action our review on what we experienced and our whole visit was Very Good. We were greeted on arrival by Lisa who was actually our server as well throughout our visit. Lisa was very friendly and efficient. It was a good job she was as most tables in her area were taken. We had our drinks order taken very promptly and all three of us then had the traditional Toby Carvery. My wife and myself opted to upgrade which is just another £1:99 to do. The plate is obviously much bigger and you get two Yorkshires if you want and two sausages as well. Personally I just opted for a small Yorkshire but as all the meats looked so good I asked for a slice of each. The veg is self service and there are back up dishes full just behind the one in use. The Roast Potatoes were superb as were the Parsnips, Sprouts, Stuffing, Carrots and Peas. Once you have your plate ready you walk over to the Condiment/Gravy station area where they literally have everything you could want. The Traditional Toby Carvery Gravy is delicious. I thought I would only have the room to eat my plate full but my wife who only asked for Pork and Beef had so much Pork she gave me 50% of hers. I hate seeing waste so that so all I left was fat & skin. After chatting for a while and relaxing we actually found we had room for a dessert. I opted to have the excellent Honeycomb Dream Ice Cream. My sister had the Bramley Apple Pie with Custard. All the food was Very Good as are the prices. Not many places you can have a large house white 250ml for £6:05. If you have never been before it is certainly worth a visit. The pace was clean & tidy and was fairly full which I mentioned does show how popular it is with families etc. Car Parking is vast and if you are unable to park outside the front door area as we could not there are many parking spaces on the far side of the restaurant. Enjoy your visit as we did. Thank you to Lisa for being so efficient.

2nd time as large family group.Again the server,Nepalese?,very rude and abrupt.Last time we was here she went ballistic as some woman in queue. This time I got short shrift as the slice of turkey I was given would have been gone in 1 mouthful.Asking for more resulted in what I would describe as "f##k you". Only come here for family gatherings but the day was ruined by her.

The cuts of meat were awful and the vegetables either over or under cooked. The person dishing up the food from the hot plate had absolutely no idea how to carve meat. Also rude with no understanding of customer service. I doubt that anyone involved in prep of or handling food, including the cooking was a qualified chef of any degree and probably had the basic minimum levels of training.

This could be a good place ,but it isn't. Couldn't get a drink after 21.30 we were there at 21.35 and would not serve us plus dogs are not welcomed . They were very rude and unhelpful. But it's ok to have noisy children running in and out . But not a well behaved dog. Plus staff were very miserable, perhaps they should change their jobs.

You can’t really go wrong with a roast to be honest. We’ve been here several times and the food is always fine. Meat sometimes dry but that depends whether it’s fresh or has been sat under the heat lamps for a while. However I’ve marked this venue down because of its cleanliness. Yes the tables are wiped down but everything else isn’t. When we went 6 weeks ago we noticed where we sat there was food stains on the cladding and wallpaper and excess food bits dried on to the chair. We pointed out the stuff on the chair before we left but the other issues where obvious so didn’t feel we needed to. It also appeared on several other tables there was food on walls and cladding too, and noticeable dust on wall ornaments etc. Today we went back and happened to be sat at the same table. I pulled my chair out, and the same stuck on food was there! Whilst we waited for our drinks we also saw the food marks still on the walls and cladding so it’s obvious this isn’t cleaned regularly at all. As a venue that is open regularly I would have assumed (obviously wrongly) that a thorough clean was done quite regularly too. We won’t be rushing back for a roast that’s for sure

We visit the Toby a lot the food is always plentiful and hot with amazing value for money. Having said that I must mention the person carving the meat, the portions were very mean just a tiny sliver of meat which was nice but not much of it. The rest was all good puds are very good value for money too

Just happened upon this place, it was lunchtime, we were hungry. They do a carvery every Saturday and Sunday. We got a table no problem at about 1.30pm. The food was great and so was the waitress. It was very efficient, no real queue at that time. Plenty of parking too. Highly recommend, would come again

Attractive outside on arrival and warm and inviting inside. The staff are friendly and efficient. The meat is varied and freshly carved. There are plenty of meats, roast potatoes and vegetables to choose from and you won't go home hungry. The vegetables are not as well-cooked as I'd like but we rarely leave anything on our plates.

Absolutely disgusted! Currently leaving the Toby in Camberly with two starving kids after discovering that they no longer serve food from the bar. I spoke politely to the manager and asked for a table for 4 as there was nothing on the website to suggest restricted service. The manager was rude and abrasive, passing it off as a head office decision, stating he was fully booked! We travelled over an hour in 30 degree heat for lunch, only to have to disappoint the family. I will be writing to head office a) that the management have appalling front of house presence and communication skills and b) that they should not be making such changes without informing people through their website! Will never come back here again.

Ordered takeaway and whilst the main was missing some of my favourite bits such as Yorkshire puddings and cauliflower cheese it was lovely. I was however disappointed with the desert and the lack of customer service from certain members of staff. Also to see some members of staff not wearing masks and lack of sanitiser in more areas than just at the door is in my opinion not acceptable in current climate . I normally love Toby but I will not be returning In the pandemic.

I attempted breakfast. The coffee was costly but poor. The buffet breakfast included luke warm shrivelled mushrooms which, considering I was in at the start of service, had clearly been partially warmed up from the day before. The £4.99 breakfast excludes the rubbish/overpriced coffee or tea so the total cost came in just short of £8 which was excessive for such disappointing quality.

We visited the Toby Carvery at Frimley for lunch today. It was the very worst meal and experience we have had in any pub/restaurant. Initial greeting went well, we were shown to a table, but it was crammed between two other tables which felt far too close, once there were people sat at the them with their chairs out. We asked for and were given another table.Service was slow, no initial offer of drinks on sitting at the table before we ordered the food. When my beer arrived, it was sour and cloudy. To be safe, I asked for their bottled beer options, they only have tins. The menu cards were old sticky and tatty, despite having pork on offer, it was not available. We each selected our meals and when they arrived, I can only describe them as a plates of nondescript mush, with no identifiable food type. Some exploration found the meat blathered in gravy and sauce, the same went for the vegetables, a mush of cauliflower, with rubbery tops and tough cores. Again, blathered with gravy to make them indistinguishable from the pile of debris on the plates. Gravy running off the side of the plate. The one modest saving grace was the roast potato, but only one of them had not been turned to mush by the gravy.I do not lay the blame at the serving staff, rather the Manger who should take oversight of everything leaving the servery to the customer. I noted that most all the serving around the restaurant area, were similarly stacked, forming a mush. Not to be recommended on this visit.

Yesterday was the first, (and last time), I had eaten out since lockdown, & especially given the rising positive cases, was hoping for a much safer experience. There is sanitiser as you enter & not all tables are occupied. There is no one way system, which as the lady who showed us to our table, explained “is difficult in a building layout like this”. None of the waitresses (or customers) were wearing any PPE. I only saw gloves on one server. You are not allowed to serve your own portions at the Carvery, yet everyone still queues to be served from the Carvery without social distancing. There are no additional screens between the servers & customers. The server I encountered was either not listening to my requests, or didn’t understand, & didn’t speak to me. The waitress, who is obviously serving more than one table was not wearing a mask, nor was she making any attempt to SD. She was leaning across the middle of our table to get glasses to refill, whilst talking & laughing right in my face. I assume she then moved on to other tables & did the same. Other customers were moving freely past us, without masks, to use the toilets. Having stayed to eat, against my better judgement, we attempted to leave thru the exit via the garden, to be met with 2 people coming in the exit door. There was no sanitiser, which I desperately wanted, by the exit. As I said earlier, this was my first visit to a restaurant since lockdown, & if this is how they all interpret “Covid secure” then I’m not surprised cases are rising. I felt so unsafe throughout the whole experience and will certainly not repeat this. The only positive I can give is that the food was as good as always, but the more I think about the overall experience, the more I regret not leaving immediately. Unfortunately, time will tell.

They were coming close to us and not keeping a two metre distance. It is disgusting that this kind of practice is going on here. I had a delicious meal at this Restaurant today. We had to book a table in advance and when we arrived we were greeted in a friendly manner by the waitress and taken to our table. The tables were well spaced out so we felt very safe. The meal was a buffet served by the chef behind a high counter. There was a great choice, Turkey, pork, beef or gammon, vegetables included roast potatoes, carrots , peas, spinach, cauliflower and mashed potatoes. There was also an a la cartel menu should you not want a carvery meal.We were not rushed and the waitress was very attentive. It was important to note that the portions served are enormous so make sure you ask for a small if you haven’t got a giant’s appetite!!Excellent value and good tasting food.

Nothing better than a Sunday Lunch @ A Toby. I won’t go into as much detail as normal. 4 meats on offer - lamb, beef, gammon & Turkey. Beef & Gammon were lovely. Abi informs me the other two were nice too! Potatoes were poor - but they usually are (I still tend to have half a dozen or so) and the mash was clearly powdered which I don’t understand. Again we expected this. Pigs in Blankets were sublime. Drinks were good. Lack of social distancing @ the que point. Server was lovely and was tipped well.

Booking online I felt confident with the measures Toby carvery have put in place with their online video and very informative website on measures they have taken. Arriving at Toby’s Frimley this is far from what the company advised. You are greeted at the front entrance with a table with only one bottle of sanitiser (the only sanitiser I could see round the entire establishment (no sanitiser stations at both exit doors, toilets, end of the carvery line service area. We were seated and the manager who was hosting that evening was amazing and very informative. This also can be said for our server who truly made it a pleasant visit under the unusual working conditions. It then went all down hill from here, we went to the carvery to only wait to be served for more than 5 min (only us a table of four waiting) to my horror a FOH manager jumped behind the line without washing his hands or wearing PPE with his keys hitting the worktop and handling plates and meat with his hands. All of our table are senior hospitality management consisting of restaurant managers, bars managers, operations managers. The portion sizes were truly something I have never seen before. I was more worried about your GP. I then witnessed a team member cleaning down a table and did not allow the chemicals recommend contact time to kill bacteria never mind Covid. I have passed this onto MB’s HQ and notified the local authorities. I don’t want to see any or our hospitality establishments go through this but don’t open if your site is not COVID-19 safe. I am truly shocked at what I witnessed but want to give a massive shout out to the staff who are putting themselves a risk but yet seem to be let down by their management and company. It shocks me more that the is an M & B site and know how stringent they are and after previous reputations in the media I thought they would have got government guidelines to a T .... definitely not at Frimley

If you want someone else to cook you a roast, it’s an easy place to go to. Booking recommended as it gets busy, especially Sunday’s. You don’t get much meat and the veg is ok. Mash is sloppy and cauliflower cheese isn’t very cheesy but the rest is all good. The gammon was burnt and not very nice today but they did replace it. Waitress (lovely young lady from Romania) was excellent today (23.02.20) and couldn’t fault her table service. The ‘three little puds’ pudding were pretty nice and we shared between the 4 of us. Stopped for a quick lunch on our way back from the hospital. Given that it was early afternoon & the place was empty, we were left slightly confused to be stood waiting at the carvery for what seemed like an eternity - with no chef in sight. Given that we're vegetarian & had no intention to have meat anyway, we helped ourselves to a couple of plates & started dishing up our veg - only for a chef to (finally!) arrive & rudely tell us we were using the wrong plates. He was clearly annoyed that we hadn't been prepared to stand around all day, & showed no appreciation or apology for the fact we had been left waiting. That aside, the food was the usual standard you'd expect from the brand at the usual reasoable price. Our waitress was pleasant & attentive, & conducted payment pretty quickly. As an aside, I was intrigued by some of the new additions to the menu - I'll be back to sample some of those soon!

This is a HUGE restaurant specialising in high volume Sunday lunch buffet service. The food is ok as is the service, but it does feel a bit like you're in a works canteen. The tables are packed in and it gets quite noisy when full. OK if you just want a mountain of food at a reasonable price. My suggestion would be to go to a pub restaurant and pay a bit more for table service and better food.

The roast potatoes were dry and tasted like they were cooked the day before and reheated. cabbage was dry and brown. Cauliflower was hard and very undercooked. I was so disappointed. The serving area could have done with a clean. Same as the toilet the toilet roll was on the sanitary bin So unhygienic. The staff member Pauline was so nice polite and helpful.

We usually enjoy going to The Toby but today left a lot to be desired. The potatoes which are usually very good were extremely dry and hard. We did hear another lady complain and the waitress went to the kitchen and bought her out a small bowlful of presumably fresh ones. We visited late afternoon and it was clear they were getting ready for the busy period. Obviously they had cooked the vegetables ready and they were drying out yuk! Never before had we been asked to vacate a table we sat down about 4.20pm (I booked a table online) we were asked to choose where we wanted to sit and at 5.30 we were asked to vacate it we were still finishing off our wine Nothing was mentioned when we sat down that we had to vacate it by a certain time. iIt would have been courteous to tell us that when we sat down

This is the second time we have been left waiting to enter for more than 10 minutes with staff wondering about doing nothing with the place almost empty. If this is the norm for service then it will only be a matter of time when the place will have no dinners.

Lunched at the One Oak in Frimley today and was most impressed. Have been to many Surrey Toby’s for meals, none of which have come close to the One Oak. On arrival the car park was spacious clean and easy to use. We had not booked, but were quickly shown by a friendly waitress to our table. The food was excellent, my family had carvery meals which they obviously enjoyed as all plates were completely empty and I had a most delicious, beautifully dressed salad with a generous helping of gammon and turkey. The restaurant was clean and welcoming and smelled only of tasty foods. This is without doubt the best Toby we have been to and we will be going again as soon as possible. We are also trying to arrange an extended family Christmas gathering here. Thank you The One Oak. See you again soon.

I have tried calling on four different occasions several times, not once has anyone ever picked up. Are you guys really not interested in trying to make a profit. In the end i went in to the restaurant as i was phoning to order a takeaway, too top it all of the had the waiter yawn in my face. Totally not rude and bang out of order. The food on the other hand was to perfection but front of house absolutely appalling!

Had a lovely family meal, staff were friendly, we had some fun too - really recommend visiting! Cider comes in nice glasses, carvery goes with it beautifully, a oerfect end of a late summer afternoon.

Great meal but the chef who serves the carvery meat really needs to learn about presentation. Just throwing it on the plate isn't what a customer expects !. Carvery and vegetables good but waiters seem to have too many tables to deal with each and you feel like you are being ignored sometimes and they seem disinterested - took an age for a second drink to arrive. Ordered a coffee with small desert and chocolate brownies came covered in far too much cream (not mentioned on the menu) and had to be scraped off. Coffee not great and had to ask for milk which I found rather strange as usually it comes with a jug of milk anyway ! Cup didn't even have a saucer with it ! You need to up your game Toby ! !

Long wait at the bar, the customer before me had to ask 4 times for his choice of beer. Mine was pumped badly I did not want 50% beer 50% foam. Then shown to a grubby eating area (I can't say restaurant). I requested clean cutlery and was told " it is clean". I told the person taking our order to look at it and when he did it was grudgingly replaced. The chairs were dirty and the table was sticky. The food was thrown onto the plates, and was a mixture of overcooked and nearly raw. I have never been to anything like it.

As we arrived we were told to wait 10 minutes for our 6pm booking (that’s fine) but just the rude manner in which it was delivered by the manager. So we got a drink at the bar to be served by a sassy rude c*** of a employee. We asked what fruity ciders you do and his reply was ‘all ciders fermented apples duh’ to our shock we just continued as normal but when asking for a glass we got a ‘Jesus Christ’ and an eye roll. Finally got to the table to be served by another rude staff member, there was no hi how are you or hello I’m so and so, all we got was ‘what do you want’ (ryan I think his name was) we ordered starters which took ages for him to think about what we said and confused him (was 4 starters) after 30 minute wait for them we had to ask for the empty dishes to be cleared away but he just walked off so I just put them on another dirty table.

Visited the carver today - pre booked and got to our table on time - we haven't been for a carvery for years so weren't really sure of the correct thing to be doing at the serving section. We were not offered any information and had to reach round a corner to reach the plates - which were hot - my husband wanted to extra large portion but we couldn't find the relevant plate and were offered no assistance and when he tried to serve himself a sausage he was rudely shouted at by the chef/server who then grabbed his wrist and demand he give the tongs back - server didn't speak and when we tried to ask for an extra large portion he just ignored us - i got the impression that his grasp of the english language wasn't particularly good - and his customer service skills were even more limited. General service was not particularly good - just because a place is cheap its not an excuse for crap service. I went and quietly had a word with the duty manager who didn't really seem to want to know really -maybe they get so many complaints that they just ignore them! food was ok which is a shame because the terrible service would put me off going again.

Me and my friends would usually have our birthday celebrations in this place and it has become a tradition to have our birthday breakfast here. Food is great, worth it and satisfying! On our recent experience, we’ve met friendly staff and manager who took care of us and would usually answer our requests.

Visited the toby carvery today and waited patiently for 10 minutes by the reception desk to be seated. We weren't even acknowledged or told someone would be with us shortly to seat us. After waiting and waiting in a half empty restaurant on a weekday lunchtime and without even a glance in our direction we decided to leave and whilst walking out we mentioned to bar staff that it would be nice to be acknowledged as a guest to which we got a blank expression and not so much as an apology. We walked out and took our business elsewhere. We wont be returning and recommend others to stay clear as staff are rude and dont seem to care one way or the other!

This place gets very busy on Sunday roast days so be prepared to book / queue. Lots of choice and lovely gravies and plenty of condiments. Unfortunately on my visit last weekend my turkey tasted like it was laced with bleach or some antibacterial detergent my partner tasted it but other meals were fine. As it was carved half way through the bird I can only assume a dropped carving knife wasn’t cleaned properly. Shame as we like it there.

My husband and I both had the carvery and to be honest food not very tasty. We have had the carvery a few times but nothing like it used to be. When I received the bill I was overcharged for our drinks, when I pointed this out I was told that the price I was charged was right and the price on the menu was wrong. 2 prices on the soft drinks menu , the higher price being the correct one, I was told that both prices are on the menu because it would cost too much to 're print the menus, maybe crossing the wrong price out would be an idea rather than mislead customers.

Went here for Sunday Lunch at the Carvery. Food was excellent as was the service. My only slight complaint was the "meet & greet" where the person checking reservations was also taking people to their tables which resulted in a long queue forming. Not sure if this is the most efficient way to do things...

On a whim decided to stay at the Travelodge, called in at The Toby for a few drinks, met by lovely aromas of food which also looked delicious so we booked a table. Have to say it was excellent and such good value for money, can't fault the food it was all tasty and well prepared we will definitely be returning. Only slight criticism was the shortage of staff in the restaurant.

My meal was very good and I really enjoyed and my partner also said he really enjoyed. Food and drinks all very quick as was desserts which were good. However after a few hours my partner became very ill and turns out he has food poisoning. I am very disappointed as all seemed really well on the visit but when you leave u get really bad side effects. Won’t be visiting again as really don’t want to become ill.

We went for lunch on the spur of the moment. The Carvery was, as ever, tasty and the server was attentive. The decor and cleanliness did however let it down! The bench I was sat on was ripped and uncomfortable and the "decorative" balustrade above the table was dirty and full of cobwebs. The toilets were filthy, men's, ladies and disabled and poorly signed too!

Great pub - with an amazing roast. Came here a few times with some mates. Every single time was perfect. They have parking next to the pub so that's a plus.

I really love this old pub, the atmosphere is great and for a beer it is perfect. However the food is a bit mediocre - filet steak and pork that is dry and over cooked, deserts that felt re-heated. Wine was great, but service on this day was average at best.

Have had breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner at the hotel restaurant and all were lovely. The staff at Frimley are simply the best, fun and friendly, big shout out to Matthew who was an amazing bar man on our first night and waiter when we dined and really made our stay great! For dinner, I ordered from the Indian menu, the prawn starter was so yummy and plenty of them. I had the chicken tikka masala for main and it tasted so authentic and lots of it! My husband had the ribeye steak for his main and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I honestly don’t know what people are complaining about, I’ve had the best experience in this restaurant all weekend!
