5/5 We moved from Essex so getting our bearings and kept passing this lovely Pub. Well so glad we booked for a meal Staff 10/10 Food 10/10 Pub 10/10 We will be back - thanks for a lovely evening

I’m sure the view is great from the back but on a cold day, we opted for the menu. Despite having booked there was some confusion at the start but soon got their act together and everything came in a timely manner. The menu was fairly limited , in my opinion but the sea bass was delicious and perfectly cooked. Good to see gravy on the side for the sausages. I’m sure their craft fair on 6 December will be worth attending.

Lovely pub with amazing views and a large garden split into several sections. Had sausage and mash which was the best I have had in quite a while. Friendly staff also. Dog friendly with free snacks, dog menu and blankets. Will be back soon.

My friend I attended on a Sunday, where they do the carvery. The food is outstanding, probably the best roast dinner I’ve had at any restaurant I’ve been to, extremely fairly priced too. The staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive, we had a lady called Mary serving us, her customer service was exceptional. We look forward to coming back soon.

Booked my daughter's christening celebration here on 4th August, had a fantastic day and the staff were amazing and went above and beyond. A big thank you to Martin the chef for the amazing children's meals and fantastic buffet. The staff were very accommodating to the children and reserved seating in the garden without having to ask. Nothing was too much trouble and they coped fantastically with such a big booking of about 90 people as well as offering their normal Sunday carvery. A beautiful garden, view and wooden gazebo.

I have eaten at this place around 10 times since early December 2023 and the food and friendly service has been excellent every time. The main course fish dishes change seasonally and the chef gradually improves them over time. In addition, the lunchtime sandwiches are great.

We have eaten here twice this week and can’t quite believe how much better the food is since our last visit. Everyone knows this pub has the best views around but has previously had very bad food. Friday lunch, simple club sandwich was really, really good. Freshly cooked chicken breast and bacon, fresh sliced avocado on good bread and hot tasty chips. Sunday lunch carvery was fabulous. Choice of meat, lots of great veg, Yorkshire pud’s, stuffing and crackling, topped off with really good gravy. Outside areas have had a spruce up and dogs welcome. We will definitely return.

Whilst I cannot fault the food the service is inadequate. My family booked this recent meal and against my better judgement after a long wait on a previous visit for dessert. Once again, we experienced a wait of over an hour for the main course. We were told they were extremely busy although there were only 3 other tables. We would have had dessert, coffee and more drinks but it wasn't worth it.

What a lunch! Delicious food,drink and a beautiful venue and we could have asked fpr a better person looking after us - Vicky. She's so personable, kind, and simply fantastic at her job. A credit to the team! Thank you so much for looking after us ☺️

Disappointing meal. Other than my husbands fish and chips the food in general wasn’t great, there was a synthetic taste too the chicken and the accompaniments had a strange taste too! Wished we hadn’t bothered to be honest. The best thing about the place was the friendly blonde lady that treated us when we arrived.

We booked here for a large family lunch, our first time eating here. We’d booked a fabulous large table at the rear of the restaurant which was perfect for our needs. The Carvery had to be a served Sunday lunch as the carvery hot area wasn’t working but the food was fabulous and portions enormous. As a Shepherd Neame pub, the beer was always going to be good, and everyone commented on the high food and service quality. Shared side orders are for 3 or 4, not 2 but if you want good food or drink in a lovely atmosphere with great service, try here. We will be back

Visited last night for dinner lovely warm welcome from the staff even though we were early we were shown straight to our table with no issues. We both had different dinners both which were delicious great sized portions great service from our waitress and they even had live music on which was great! Thanks for a lovely evening and dinner.

Very disappointing. Staff extremely rude and abnoxious. Will not be returning. Shame as this used to be a good pub with a great friendly atmosphere.

I had a fantastic lunch at The Bull with my husband and two dear friends, in celebration of my 60th birthday. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout and helped to make the occasion special. The food was delicious and well-presented - my duck confit was an excellent choice, so tender and full of flavour. A wide selection of beers, wine and champagne. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Three of us (plus one Geman short-haired pointer) dropped into the Bull Inn during a 10 mile walk. The Whitstable Bay we ordered was obviously at the end of the barrel, but the lovely girl on the bar put on a new barrel immediately - our replacement pints were excellent. Two of us had fish finger sandwiches which were perfectly cooked (light and crispy batter, moist tasty fish) and served with fries all for £10. Out friend had cheesy chips which were guzzled down so obviously they were good! Really nice staff in here, the log burner was going so it was very cosy though we sat outside initially to admire the fantastic terrace views. All in all an excellent experience. Good work The Bull Inn!

Yet to try the food, will do, particularly the mouth-watering Sunday carvery. Lots has already been said about the garden and the superb views of the Weald but personally the best feature is the great service from the always cheerful and friendly staff. Definitely a 10 out of 10.

When we arrived the restaurant was virtually empty but we were told it was fully booked. We were shown to a table in a cold room at the back of the pub. Nobody arrived to eat at any of the tables in the main restaurant. When we left the restaurant was empty. Very bad customer service.

Really friendly staff and stunning views but wasn’t very impressed with the carvery, there wasn’t much selection and it wasn’t particularly delicious. Would come again but wouldn’t order the carvery.

This pub is very charming, olde worlde, beams across the ceiling. My husband and I booked for Sunday lunch. There was a carvery on, which we had. The food was delicious, very generous portions. I followed it with a chocolate torte with raspberry sorbet. Delicious, never been before, will definitely book again another day

This pub is now under new management and has new chef’s. We visited on a busy summer’s evening and were greeted by the most amazing view in Kent from the car park and rear garden. The garden is massive with new furniture and plenty of space to watch the sunset over the valley below. Inside was much bigger than expected and had a lovely village pub feel to it with a beautiful dining area at the rear. The menu and drinks available catered for everyone. The staff were professional, friendly, attentive and polite the whole way through, and the food was absolutely amazing. Well done everyone you have done an outstanding job turning this into our new favourite place to go. We will definitely be back soon and have already booked for Christmas.

The bull is tucked away and has a hidden gem, round the back you will find some of the most amazing views. Sit back relax and enjoy the views with a drink or two blissful. The staff were polite although it was quite we felt welcomed. the manager Scott had great conversation as we asked several questions he was very knowledgeable and seems to be very excited about the plans for the pub. Talking about the beers something I did not know was shepherd Neame (the pub is shepherd Neame) only uses water from a well under their brewery! How cool is that! Unfortunately the menu seemed extremely limited, not many options at all would love to see a bigger menu! However they wasn’t serving food anyway so didn’t get a chance to sample. No food on Mondays and Tuesdays do any pubs around this area serve food on these days??? :( We will be back soon, look forward to seeing some of the changes discussed

We were very much looking forward to our lunch at 'The Bull'. We arrived on time for our reservation at 1pm. We were seated quickly and were served with our drinks more or less straight away. The interior is gorgeous and the outside area must be amazing on a sunny day with the spectacular views. At 1.30pm we were served our main, we hadn't ordered a starter so a 30min wait did seem a bit excessive. We finished our food which was quite nice and waited patiently to be asked if we wanted more drinks, coffee or desert. Unfortunately this did not happen. Eventually my Husband enquired at the bar if we could see the desert menu. Apparently this could not be found? After waiting another fifteen minutes and with our empty plates having still not been cleared from the table we decided to pay and leave. There were only another two occupied tables while we were there, the staff were hardly rushed off their feet.

We arrived early and were served soft drinks. All of the wine glasses were dirty with lipstick stains. If their dishwasher wasn’t working properly, why weren’t they checked, cleaned and polished before setting the table? The food, when it finally arrived after nearly 45 minutes for a sandwich, burger and a salad was good. They were not in the least bit busy. I had to go and ask where our order was! My husband originally wanted a pudding but changed his mind because of the excessively long wait for the mains. The reason we were there was for an early birthday treat. Shan’t be going back!

Nice pub, fabulous views over the Weald of Kent, atrocious menu. Pub menu and garden menu. Seriously when you have such a wonderful location why ruin it with such a poor choice. Baguettes, chips, onion rings and garlic bread outside but a comprehensive menu inside. When the sun shines we all want to take advantage of a drink and some pub grub outside. No burger, pizza, pasta, veggie options (fish goujons were all gone 1 hour after opening) unless you want to sit inside. Ordered our food from the (modified-"sorry goujons are all sold out") matchbox sized menu and was extremely disappointed (along with others) with the quality. Note to owner; sort it out it's not rocket science. Note to customer; Bring a picnic and enjoy the view.

Went here for Sunday lunch and I can honestly say it was the worse experience and worse food I have ever had . We waited an hour and fifty minutes for our food to arrive and when it did it was cold. Having waited so long we had all started to feel unwell as we were so hungary as we had expected to be eating a roast for lunch not early evening. Decided to give desserts a miss to afraid of how long the wait would be . The only good comment I can make is the lady that served us was lovely but the food was out of her control. Will never go back.

Sunday afternoon, 2pm decided to walk the dogs 1 hour to the Bull, website advised food served until 9pm! Arrived at around 3pm to be told they have just stopped serving food! What a bloody shame, we stayed and had a few drinks in the gorgeous garden. We spoke to some other guests who said the roast dinner was awful. I since found out that this Pub has been bought back by Shepherd Neame after Bob (the old landlord) retired, this pub used to be amazing, 7 day a week food, great carvery on a sunday, however now Sheps have got there hands back on it! Avoid at all costs! What a bloody shame! 🙁

We went for lunch today. I find it hard to recognise the place from some of the disappointing reviews below. It is not the place to go for fast food, since all dishes are cooked from scratch, and this obviously takes time. And it is not the cheapest pub restaurant around Maidstone. But our meal was absolutely first class, with attentive, pleasant and efficient service. Not overstating it to say that this was the best pub food experience we have had since the original Horseshoe in West Farleigh closed 40 years ago!

What a yummy lunch, and good venue for an overdue catch up. Staff were very attentive and made sure we had all we needed. The pork and sage sausages were delicious as was the fish and chips. Nice that they do a smaller portion for the lunchtime menu. Before and after shots will hopefully upload. And dogs with well behaved owners are welcome 😁 didn’t have mine this time but good for future reference.
