Lovely village pub in Brighstone serving great food with a smile Good size portions and great tasting food ,especially the sausage and mash and the sticky toffee pudding Well worth a visit , see you again next year😀

Having pre booked a table, no one was aware of our reservation. The waiting time for food was 45 mins, not great when we booked for 19:30 The bar staff were miserable, not a welcoming experience for tourists.

Booked for a 50th birthday well in advance shocking is the polite way to describe it. Took 3 and a half hours to deliver the meals, spread out over the period. Last meal was chicken nuggets and chips, ordered at 18:30 delivered at 20:30. Manager had to go and cook due to staff shortages, ran out of wine glasses so has to re use glasses all night. Food was mixed some ok some poor Worst pub experience in a long time visit with caution oh unless your a local and you will be fine

Very disappointed 😞 with lack of gluten free options 😕 staff seemed unaware of choices 😕 have been here before, 4yrs ago, was very impressed 👏 sadly could not recommend on this occasion

Three hungry travelers let down by local fish z& chip van (misled by Google) happened upon the Three Bishops. It was an oasis of calm order and most importantly food! Warm welcome. Excellent menu. Helpful service. We had the hand formed steak and sake pie, chips, peas and gravy (I’d have liked the gravy served in a jug), crispy fish cakes with chips and kids baguette pizza. Followed by adult & child warm cookie dough (both servings were probably the same size, but different shapes, the adult was supposed to have biscoff sauce, but it was not noticeable) and amazing cherry sundae. Attentive service with a smile. Good service. If we were local we’d be returning soon!

We visited Sunday 23rd June and the food looked delish , so we decided to go for my husbands birthday on the Monday 24th. The food was awful. Firstly yes I should have complained, I usually do if things are not right, but it was our first holiday since I’ve just had a brain tumour removed soto be honest I couldn’t be bothered, however, you shouldn’t need to complain when your paying for something. I had fish and chips… fish well overcooked , batter really dark in colour, fish shrivelled up . Tinned cold mushy peas. My husband had chilli beef pizza. This was a bought in margarita pizza with I strip of meat fried to an inch of its life on every portion, no chilli. I will not go back, I would suggest going further up the road to “The Wight Mouse Inn “ food fantastic.

Thoroughly enjoyable lunch . Extensive menu with availability of smaller portions. Food was lovely. Great service, very welcoming and helpful staff. Definitely recommend a visit.

First impressions of the pub were run down, the lady’s behind the bar were really nice- we ordered food for 4 people close us nearly 100 quid, we weren’t happy with the food so we thought we would say something. The manger came over and said we were in the wrong for complaining and she had tasted our food she was very rude and unprofessional!! Never experienced such a thing even the locals say avoid the food! AVIOD HERE IF YOU CAN!!!

Every table we tried (4 in total) was dirty. I could only order a side of “Skins-on Chips” as they couldn’t confirm if the food on the menu contained garlic, which I am allergic to. I accepted the fact that I would have to make do with this. However, when the side arrived, it was not Skins-on but what appeared to be skinny fries, which I’m not a fan of. On a positive note the member of staff behind the bar, was very polite.

Very poor, menu looked good, but fresh beer battered fish,it was not, pollock, poor quality, no taste, cod was unavailable as it was still defrosting, home made steak and ale pie! No pies tonight!i scampi was very poor quality and overcooked, would not recommend or go back.

We had lunch at this lovely pub yesterday. We've been many times over the years whilst visiting the Isle of Wight and it never disappoints. The food was absolutely lovely. Freshly cooked by the owner's daughter, who is obviously very good at what she does. Great service from the very pleasant owner and very generous portions. Clean and tidy tables and excellent menu. A lovely beer garden in nicer weather too.

We were given a few recommendations for places to eat on the island including here but it was disappointing compared to the others so I can only score an average. Despite there being few people eating the service was very slow and the food itself was just okay being a little overdone

Food was fine/good, but what made our lunch enjoyable today were the staff. We had 3 different people serve us today behind bar and from kitchen and every one of them were friendly, polite, helpful and welcoming. Made it a very pleasant experience. Thank you

I went to the Three Bishops with a friend to have a catch up, we like to try different places and pubs on the island so we thought we would give the Three Bishops a go. It certainly didn’t disappoint. We were greeted by a lovely young woman who appeared happy to see and serve us and was very attentive to our needs and requirements throughout the evening. It wasn’t very busy, but there was still a great atmosphere. The pub/restaurant boasts excellent parking facilities, a nice outdoor area and a beautiful rustic interior. It’s exactly the sort of place you’d expect to find somewhere like Brighstone. The food: prices were very good and the food was amazing. We were both incredibly impressed by the quality. My friend mistakingly ordered a vegan burger, but he said you would never tell the difference. He said it was delicious and that he would certainly order it again. I ordered the Stilton and Garlic Mushroom burger and I must say, it’s one of the best I’ve eaten on the island. Fresh and homemade. I have no complaints whatsoever. A great evening in a great pub. Would recommend.

We spent a great weekend for a birthday meal/celebration in this lovely pub. Were looked after superbly by Stacey & her team.

I had booked bedroom’s for my children, partners and grandchildren, excellent accommodation, reasonable price, for 3 nights. I had booked an early dinner in the Bishop’s on the Saturday, the booking was for 30 people mostly from the IOW, my brothers,sisters and family. The food was excellent and service as well.There was a live band playing later, again excellent. We had a great weekend, Tracey and her team were the best I’ve experienced in years, Thank you all.

We braved the rain and floods !! To get to the pub … quiet time as the weather was dire and it’s January!…one of us chose pub classic ..scampi and chips … great home made chips 👏👏👏 and I chose Vietnamese prawn curry (never had it before but like curry !)… and it was delicious … lovely little pops of flavour from pomegranate seeds and spring onions slivers …it was so good … highly recommended .. and mother and daughter team were a delight ❤️

Me and my partner went there for a rare date night,Food was great can't fault it. Table wasn't ready when we got there, and we had booked a week earlier, Table service was terrible, no cutlery, my partner had to go find some, also offered no condiments, it's a shame that the service let it down, don't know if we'd go back 😒

I ordered the Beef Roast. £15.50 + wine It looked okay when it arrived. I was taken aback by the big amount on the plate and then got the realisation of ‘oh its one of these meals’ probably microwaved in parts :( sadly the food and gravy was cold and tasteless which was odd because it looked like it was going to be really tasty. Left most of it. Sorry would not order food here again.

With the menu changing seasonally, plus the regular pub favourites often with a spicy twist or kick on offer, whatever you prefer, it’s hard to find fault with both the friendly & amenable service nor the carefully prepared gastronomic delights. I ordered the Korean Sesame-fried Chicken Burger, asked for the Satay sauce instead of the regular spicy sauce served with the dish & opted for the Salt & Chilli Chips instead of the regular fries. Needless to say, my eyes were rolling back in my head with the taste sensation! Thanks to Tracey & Steph (behind the bar) & Jason in the kitchen! Be back soon!

Cosy, clean, well decorated and welcoming pub. Unfortunately service was chaotic. Rarely someone behind the bar, food took over 1 1/2 hrs to be served, with no prior warning that this would be the case. Only 1 chef, rushed off his feet. Food from the 'A la Carte' menu was mediocre, bland and poorly presented - not worthy of the description of 'pub grub', and certainly not worth the price. Such a shame as the Three Bishops has so much potential. Disappointed to see from reviews that this wasn't a one off, hopefully they can up their game.

fantastic stay. beatiful accomdation fantastic good wonderful land lady and staff. lucky enough to be there for some excellent live music. locals very welcoming. we were sorry to leave. we will be back soon.

I booked this hotel / pub as it had good reviews on the booking site. I was more than a little disappointed! My room was good and was warm, on a very cold night, although the bathroom was freezing a the heated towel rail wasn't working. The evening meal, was a disappointment. The steak was over cooked, the chips were starignt out of the bag and not well cooked. Service was poor despite there not being many in. After waiting for several minutes at the bar ti get served, no bar maid, i was told by one of the regulars, it would be quicker to go in search of the bar maid than wait. in the end one of the locals, actually phoned the bar maid to tell her there was a customer waiting! Breakfast was included in the room price. I was told 8.30-9.30am for breakfast, leaving me enough time to get the ferry back, if I left at 9. Someone eventually turned up at 8.45!! The man just said, oh she was supposed to be down doing the breakfasts at 8.30. I had just enough time for a quick cup of coffee and a slice of toast, eaten walking across the car park!! I won't be staying again!!

We stopped in for lunch having read the reviews, a lovely friendly pub looking absolutely fabulous with all the Christmas lights and decorations up and the fires burning on a chilly morning. We ordered at the bar and were greeted with a wonderful warm friendly lady all the drinks were delicious 2 pints of cider and a whisky and lemonade. We ordered our meals 2 steaks and crispy king prawns and chips. The meals arrived after 10 minutes. The steaks were cooked beautifully the crispy prawns were extremely crispy so mum just ate the prawns after taking the crispy bits off!. The lady asked if everything was okay and mum said it’s too crispy for me but I’m okay, the offered a replacement but mum said no I’m full . So the lady asked if she wanted some ice cream or a drink on the house so mum had the ice cream which was lovely. Overall a really nice lovely pub where customers really do come first. We will be going back just not for the crispy prawns!. The steaks were delicious Thank you for your hospitality.

Nothing wrong with the location of this charming village pub .I really wanted to love it. The staff are friendly and welcoming too. Unfortunatley the food was a big thumbs down. We chose from a very limited lunch menu. The beer battered fishfingers with bloomer sounded lovely but when it arrived it was a dry stack of stale sliced packet bread with some flat, slightly chewy battered fish between the layers. The chips were ok but had a slightly old taste. The whole dish was very dry and not fresh enough, like some thing made 2 or 3 days ago. The hummus and halloumi wrap was another choice. The halloumi had a deep fried or oven baked coating which was very hard and gritty, the hummus tasted strange and the wrap itself seemed stale. Again quite dry. For a small limited choice on the lunch menu, such as simple wraps I would expect them to be easy to get right. So we left feeling disappointed and will try somewhere else next time.
