I first reviewed the Rose and Thistle under the old lovely owners - fabulous food and service. It was wonderful to hear that the community had managed to take over the running of the pub, and today was our first sunny trip to the RaT under the new community landlords. Very pleased to say it’s as good as it always was. Superb food and fantastic service. I had a bit of a meze with the cheese soufflé at the heart - was a fabulous soufflé and all the food was just divine. For those (like me) who rarely carry cash with them, just be aware that they don’t currently take tips on card - felt guilty not being able to tip the superb service. We will definitely be back. Congrats to the Rockborne community for bringing back the Rose and Thistle and making it marvellous!

"Not been there since it changed hands" "It was really good but haven't been there since the old people left" was what we were told. Well, as a real fussy bugger about my food, let me tell you we're very pleased that we went to Mojacs tonight as it was fab! We had the scallops and the king prawns as starters, both were cooked to perfection. I was hesitate about the apple and parsnip puree that came with the scallops as thought it would be too sweet but not at all. We had the lamb chops and the pork belly (from the specials board) and again, they were both delicious and cooked fantastically well. Don't take my word for it, try it yourself as you will not be disappointed

We spotted this place Sunday evening having just arrived in Milford on sea for a three day break and decided it looked the perfect spot for breakfast the next day. Having a dog in with four adults meant this was vital he was allowed in and thankfully he was. The four of us decided to have titanic breakfasts which came with everything you would expect to see on an english breakfast. Whilst waiting the three of us who had coffees all commented on the lovely taste and quality of the beans so this got the tastebuds tingling for the main event. The breakfasts came and did not disappoint. Standouts were the sausages and the black pudding as they were both so tasty but you could not fault anything. Upon leaving I did also point out to the person who appeared to be the manager that the service that the young man looking after us gave to us throughout was outstanding with everything we requested being carried out quickly and efficiently with a smile.

Well, what can I say except BLOOMING DELICIOUS! Managed to grab a table last minute on a Saturday night. The little restaurant, about 8 or 9 tables, was full apart from a table for 2 which we bagged. The menu is small but packs a gastonomical sucker punch to the taste buds. We started with the grilled asparagus, gabiche (a sauce made with hard boiled egg yolk, mustard and oil) with parmesan and some garlic bread. The starter was so delicious, the asparagus cooked to perfection and topped with the sauce was so full of flavour, never had anything like it but would definitely order again. And the garlic bread really complimented it. For the main course my husband went for the Ventnor wild garlic radiatori (little radiator pasta shapes) with cashew pomegranate and I chose the sea bass. We shared the dishes and both were equally excellent. Not a morsel left on our plates and our tummies fully satisfied. We washed it all down with a bottle of rose, chosen by the owner, Dita. Dita is attentive and so knowledgeable, happy to explain each dish fully and help with choosing the food and or wine. The service was impeccable. This little restaurant is a must if you're visiting Ventnor. Perfect for every taste; meat eaters, pescetarians, vegetarians and vegans. Do book though as it does get busy. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Go see for yourself!

Stopped here with the family for a brunch on a Saturday. Was very busy but the friendly front of house girls were attentive and made sure we had a table, plus they wiped it down instantly rather than letting us sit near any mess. We ordered a small breakfast, a breakfast bap, and for our 7 year old, they allowed us to make up a plate of things as "extras" from the menu which was great. Not sure if they allow swaps or not on the set menu's (many in New Forest don't allow). The food was really tasty, all good quality ingredients, excellent butchers sausages, and HP/Heinz sauces (not refilled with cheap stuff). Coffee was also nice and everything served nice and hot. Excellent food, great service, clean - will return when next in the area on holidays.

One of my favourite places to go with dad Barrie. Been here numerous times and never disappointed. Great menu, lovely views over the boating lake, friendly staff and good value for money. Love how you can have half chips, half rice with many of the menu items. Will be back soon!

Such an amazing place is the 1940s tearoom, Betty ( Jacqui) and her team are brilliant, always polite and always have a warm friendly welcome. My daughter took me there for Mother's day had a glass of fizz on arrival, a tasty afternoon tea with plenty of tea or coffee. The singer was amazing. I've just read some reviews and what I don't understand is if you've got that many issues why don't you mention them there snd then instead of putting poor reviews on here ( TripAdvisor) The experience in this Tearoom is totally amazing from the moment you step into the Tearoom....

We booked this pub based on reviews for a family get together before a brass band concert in Tidworth. It was a revelation. Fantastic menu - plenty of good choices and a specials board. I love places where you keep changing your mind about what to have even when the order taker is hovering. When our food arrived we were very pleased about the presentation on the plate. Really well done. Everyone really enjoyed their meal and found room for desserts - also very good. Well done Lindsay - and thank you.
