We had a wonderful afternoon tea at Shaw Hill. The welcome and service throughout our visit was extremely attentive. The food was of a high quality and we enjoyed the variety including soup, scones and sausage rolls. The environment was relaxing and the birthday ‘girl’ was made to feel special. We highly recommend Shaw Hill for a celebration afternoon tea.

We got a voucher for a 3 course meal for 2 with processco. When we arrived we were seated quickly, drinks order taken and menu provided. We were told about the extra supplements for 1 starter, 2 of the mains and 1 dessert! Drinks came quickly and we had barely touched them before being offered more. Eventually the order was taken. We ordered all three courses at once. It was very slow but the food was lovely. The goats cheese tart to start was delicious. We both had suppliment mains (steak and duck) but they were really nice and the sticky toffee pudding was out of this world. Somewhere that actually gives you enough toffee sauce! Amazing. We enjoyed it, with drinks (2 diets cokes and 2 alcholic) and the supplements it nearly doubled the cost of the voucher but we enjoyed it.

Popped in here for a bit of food and a pint on a whim whilst cycling through the canal. What a great decision - it's a lovely, well decorated and catered for place, clientele seemed nice, staff and service were superb and the food was quality. The owner was very welcoming and made me feel right at home - laid back but attentive and warm. I'll definitely be coming back this way and stopping off again, great experience.

I went for breakfast with a friend. We were met by Emma who was very friendly and showed us to our table. Throughout our excellent breakfast she was efficient and attentive and made the whole experience extremely enjoyable. I will definitely go again.

Worst experience ever. Worst experience ever. Well I decided to give my missus a break from cooking so decided to risk the chippy I spent just short of £25 for fish peas and gravy. Also fish peas chips and gravy. Thought it was expensive as all other take always are cheaper. I understand rising costs so reluctantly accept this. I got home and no chips. I live 8 mins away so went back and Andrew said sorry. Gave me some chips that were hard and cold. This is the third time that an item was missing. The staff are having to deal with phone / internet and walk ins. I won’t be back 3 times disappointed is well enough. Good luck trying to keep this business going. Your gonna need it

We visited as a family group for a special birthday afternoon tea and it was fabulous! The staff were brilliant, special requests noted, always attentive, they got it just right. The food was absolutely delicious, there was plenty of it, all spot on. Good value, we couldn't finish it all so they provided the bags to take it home. Special shout out for the scones, so light and still warm from the oven! Would definitely come again and highly recommend for a relaxed atmosphere is a beautiful setting.

We had a lovely visit — the atmosphere was warm, the food was great, and our server Lucy was absolutely fantastic. Super friendly and attentive throughout. A big bonus: kids eat for free, which made it even better value for a family meal. Highly recommend!

Expected sandwiches on the menu as light lunch whilst out cycling. We had to settle for chips at £9.00 for two portions. They were ok but I was annoyed when the lanlord came out and offered some chips to two other people for free which looked to be the remaining chips from our order. Wont be using this pub again. .
