Updated Nov 24 The food is CRAZY good! Book a table or you'll miss out. Apologies, I didn't put the flash on my camera so pics don't look the best. The food was outstanding. Lambshank cottage pie with cheddar mash. Festive handpressed burger with chutney. Updated January 2024 Checked in quickly and professionally by the lovely Claire: Gammon Eggs Chips Peas: Gammon looked like Salmon, tasted amazing, plenty of chips, pineapple looked thinner than a catwalk queen but had the flavour of a couch potato, amazing, PLUS, I couldn't even count how many tasty garden peas on the plate! GREEN ARMY!! 7 mins between full plate to crossed cutlery. As usual AMAZING! Isla very friendly quick service too 😃 Forgot I'd had the beef brisket (I think) Was delicious! Updated July 2023 Ordered the Duo Korean Chicken Main Meal. CRAZY GOOD! Quick and friendly professional service as good as ever, highly recommend booking a table early on as it's so popular and for the quality, extremely reasonably priced. Stayed in the Barn Suite, THE best room I've stayed in all of Prem Inns, Food was amazing and staff super friendly, crazy big carpark, Left my bag there by accident which had a LOT of cash in, all retrieved with no issues, That is huge to me, Would have given 8 stars but can only give 5

At about 5pm on 23rd November, I went to the Malthouse Farm Pub for a pint and a meal. The place wasn't especially busy and having obtained my pint, I went to sit at a table, because nobody was manning the house desk and there was no sign saying, "Please wait here to be seated". I was intercepted by one of the staff and shown to a table. He could have chosen several others and none were reserved. So I sat down, only to be asked to move two minutes later. My fish and chips arrived and were nicely cooked. Perhaps the 5ml portion of tartare sauce could have been more generous? The beer was indifferent and over priced at £5.10 a pint. It was the kind which is okay cold but not okay when it warms up. May I make two suggestions to the management....? Firstly, are you a pub or are you a restaurant? Given the beers you certainly not brewers as implied by the name of your chain. These days, most places are both, but if you want to control where people sit, why not use the little sign I mentioned earlier? It left the staff in a state of constant confusion, which leads to my second suggestion. If you wish to offend a customer, one particularly good way is to ask them to move, having just shown them a table, especially when you had plenty of options. I'm sure this establishment has many redeeming features noted by other customers but it is being let down by indecisive, dithering management. Thanks but I won't be back.

I feel I should leave a 4/5 review because I've eaten here loads and always liked the food and staff but I need to leave a negative aspect - why on earth would you stop Sunday roast?! What sort of pub doesn't do normal roast beef or roast turkey (like you used to do). We used to come every Sunday for a roast and now we don't because you don't offer one. I know you do roast chicken but it doesn't really come with sides you'd associate with a roast. It was also extremely dry. And "duo of roast" but it's with pork belly (since when was pork belly a roast sort of thing). We went to another of the same chain near Ormskirk who had the same roasts as always (the menus used to be identical) so we are a bit confused why Malthouse would choose to remove what you'd think would be the most popular dish of the week. I'm hoping they return in December so we can enjoy them for a couple of Sundays before they remove them again. Surely we can't be the only people disappointed you've removed roasts?! But other than this aspect we can't fault you so I didn't really want to rate you badly. We will if you don't bring roasts back ;) lol only joking

We were visiting family in the area and needed a decent meal. So we booked Malthouse Farm. We were very impressed with the vegan and vegetarian options and really enjoyed our meal. The staff were friendly and attentive. The only issue I had was we were served bread before our meal, but it came with butter, as a vegan I feel there should have been a vegan alternative.

Having gone to the Malthouse farm on several occasions since it opened I have to say the meal, the service and the atmosphere at tonight's meal was the worst it's ever been. My husband and I both decided on the fish and chips, the fish was greasy and tasteless and the chips were non descript, some were cooked and some were hard not upto the usual standard at all. It was ages before someone came to ask how things were and we waited ages for the dishes to be cleared and asked if we wanted a dessert. Normally the meals are sufficient and no dessert is required but on this occasion we both decided to have the bakewell tart with raspberry coulis. The tart was blackcurrant and there was no raspberry in site. It was dry and over cooked. Again not upto the usual standard. When we asked for the bill, the guy said he'd bring it over. Fifteen minutes later it still hadn't arrived so we ended up having to go to the till to pay because otherwise we would have been late for the cinema. When I booked we had plenty time to eat with time to spare but after the service being so slow, everything was rushed and we ended up missing the beginning. Such a shame as I'll not be recommending this place to anyone..

Yesterday, we were looked after by Debs, who was very charming and a helpful host. And also Ahmed found us a lovely table near the open fire, The risotto and mushroom pie were both delicious 😋 and very well priced. I noticed other guests were treated very well too. On arrival we were left waiting at the desk despite being walked past by members of staff. When we were seated we were told there was a number of dishes unavailable! There were 3 starters out of 6 unavailable which included the soup of the day! 4 mains were missing also, which left a very limited choice. I opted for crispy squid, my husband had pork terrine for starters. There was very little flavour and my squid came with mayonnaise instead of wild garlic mayonnaise. I finished my starter and the waiter took my plate; he then tried to take my husbands plate despite the fact he was still eating!! I decided on steak, I asked for rump but was told there was only sirloin. My husband asked for chicken breast wrapped in bacon. I asked for a beef dripping gravy as an extra. When the meals arrived my gravy (if you could call it that) was in a small jug, all 1cm of it!! I asked if I could please have some more; the staff member looked on the jug, then walked into the kitchen and announced table 22 are complaining about not having enough gravy! I did not complain, I politely asked for some more as I felt £1:99 for 1cm of gravy was slightly over priced; that and the fact I like plenty of gravy. I was given another jug this time with 3cm of gravy, slightly better but still not enough. My husband asked for vinegar and ketchup but did not get it, he had to ask another member of staff. We decided to skip dessert as we’d had such an awful experience with the food so far. We asked for the bill, I paid but then to top everything off I was charged for both jugs of gravy. I told the waitress who said she would sort it out: 10 minutes later, all members of floor staff had disappeared. We left the restaurant without the issue being solved!! I would avoid this establishment at all costs which is a shame as it is in a beautiful setting alongside the Premier Inn, Chorley North.

Yet again, I write another review for The Spinners, the perfect pub and restaurant for all pockets and all occasions. This time it is a review of Munchy Mondays, a one day a week feast of one, two or three courses that will tickle even the most discerning pallet at great prices. On Christmas Day this year we will be celebrating 9 (nine) years of being patrons of the Spinners, our first visit was at 1.00pm on a very wet 25th December 2015, turning up as we did just for a Christmas pint with our family to celebrate moving to the area two days prior. Thanks Glen and Emma for your service to customers. Merry Christmas. Steven and Lisa C, (and Sid) see you again on Christmas Eve 2024 (with Louise!!!!!)

Lovely busy pub, nice atmosphere, great food. We are in the bar area (so no table service to order and you can't book a table in the bar, only the restaurant) but it was really good food and the staff were great.

Love this place! Always a pleasant experience. A sailor went to sea, sea, sea To see what he could see, see, see But all that he could see, see, see Was the fields from The Seaview window seat!

Best chippy in Lancashire - and the owner is the President of the National Fish Fryers Assoc. You’ve probably seen him on TV. Does his industry proud.

Which if you are wondering it means Oh Mamma what great value for money! My last review of this place was several years ago and I think it was 5 stars then. It’s not changed for me. We called in on an off chance at around 6pm on a Saturday evening. The place was busy and we didn’t hold much hope. Thankfully the lady front of house, I think she owns it and I remember her from last time we were there many years ago, kindly squeezed us in provided we were done in an hour. Perfect for us as we only wanted a quick bite. We ordered an Etna pizza and Ndjua pasta. I was DES so the mrs had a glass of house red and I stuck on the corporations pop. The food was awesome and service quick and polite full. What we didn’t realise was that we had snuck in on the pizza and pasta offer and the bill came to…………£20! You’d pay more eating at Maccas! Keep up the great work and don’t believe some of the recent reviews that get 1 star because they can’t split the bill for some grey army! But if people choose not to go then that’s fine by me. It’s a great local restaurant that won’t be as busy so we can enjoy it. Recommended.
