Jon and the team are fantastic, well mannered, attentive immediately and will make you wait for fresh chips, they don't serve crappie food here at all, never had a bad one in years, I'd suggest if there's a complaint or an error made, make it known straight away to the owner Jon, he's an honest man that would rectify an error as he definitely cares about his business, we won't go anywhere else and we've 3 other chip shops within 500 yards

Cannot recommend J Seas enough. I am not from the area but pass by regularly for work. The home made cheese and onion pie is to die for and the staff are all very friendly. Id definitely recommend giving J Seas a go if you're passing!!

2 fish, one of which was very thin .2 chips ,barely warm , 2 peas; all for £18.00. Not to be recommended, if anything a pathetic excuse for a chippy, avoid it . This was not a fake review.I can understan d the owner bridling at the fact that his product is considerably less that perfect, but honestly after you've driven home, unwrapped the chips , taken the fish out of the cardboard box , who can really be bothered to repackage everything and drive back. No. I think the owner knows this and relies on peoples inertia to take any action. That's why this joke of a chip shop needs to be brought to account so that unsuspecting members of the public are no longer taken advantage of.

Been using this chippy for some time john is pleasant and cares about his business. The young girls on the other hand clearly don't chips was terrible dryed up and tasteless this is the last time I will use it . John would of served fresh chips so 3 portion of terrible chips with fish etc have cost you a £ 30 a week customers to go elsewhere.

Lucky that this chippy is literally down the end of our road but it is 100% the nicest chippy I've had in Chorley. Freshly cooked, staff are friendly and you can actually have an intelligent conversation whilst waiting. The food is spot on and reasonably priced and there is other things available if you don't fancy a bit of fish. I would recommend this chippy and I will never go anywhere else as long as I live in Chorley. Thanks J Seas and team.

You can tell the boss man wasn’t in tonight! Says online open until 7:30 was there at 7:20, the door may have been open but the shop was closed lights off and all the food away before 20 past. Not given a one star as dint want to drag the average down but have a word with the staff (if your wondering why your last half hour is quiet- now you know, they shut early so ppl stop coming!

This is the only chippy i have had that I've liked, been coming here on and of for 2 years now since I've worked in Chorley, Always been superb however recently the owner hasn't been in and the standards have dropped, fish has been thick battered in some parts and the service hasn't been great (slightly rude) tbh. Just little things like Closed sign still on when its open. Maybe im being a bit too critical but wont be coming back for a while and I hope upon returning they get back to being the best.

Friendly bloke ( probably owner?) who serves you , he’s chatty and clearly knows his stuff . Nice to see the fish cooked on order instead of two hours before then sat in a warming cabinet until sold , at which time they’re rock hard. I used to regularly go to another chippy in the area, but no more. This one’s really ace and deserves to do well. Thank you Mr JS.

Ordered steak pudding and chips. Steak pudding was stone cold, literally live a couple of minutes away. Begrudge paying for something that's not right. Won't be going again.

Oh my my Fish and Chips is amazing with delicious Crispy batter..and the best thing is its not fried in Palm Oil..I also get the chilli con carne / cajun chicken with chips...all sooo good it's difficult to choose. All gravy / curry sauce is cooked by the owner..so delicious and healthy

I have never been here before I called in on my way back home to Blackpool and omg this place is just awesome the fish was to die for the chips just wow and the curry sauce was lovely I will definitely be back again when I'm back in the area

VERY good 👍!! As a HGV driver that come up from Plymouth that's over run with good chippy's. I stumbled across this place and I have to say it one of the best iv had. Its not a very big place and it was queuing out the door, I took this as a good sign and It didn't disappoint. Fish was epic lovely light batter and the curry sauce was TOP...

Chips were anaemic looking. Lots of brown/black bits in them. Fish was tasteless and watery. Batter was greasy. Awful. Worst that I have ever tasted. Will not go there again. However the manager/boss was very friendly, pleasant and welcoming.

Honestly the best chippy around. As someone who lives with lifelong illness(kidney failure) this is the ONLY chippy around that doesn't make me ill. Fresh fish, good oils and J himself is an absolute stellar man. Been going here nearly since it opened years ago and -any- issue is addressed immediately .

Found it odd reading the bad reviews as we order here weekly and the fish and chips are always perfect. It’s the best fish and chips I’ve found and the owner is very picky about the oil - he’ll tell you all about it!

John the owner is a fantastic person. The fish and chips in my opinion are the best in UK. The food tastes great. I travel 88 miles round trip for this Chippy. This Chippy is my best kept secret. Well done John for being the best. My advice is you have tried the rest now try the best.

Just bought meat and potatoe pie, got home had to throw it straight into the bin, it had been reheated quite a few times inedible!

The food I got today was rubbish the fish had way too much batter on it was also very dry. Was not impressed do they not offer child portions any more no difference between regular and large which there should be. No impressed not going to be ording fish from there any time soon

It was absolutely delicious and worth the price however if you suffer an intolerance then I recommend reminding them to label the fish box with gluten free or not as I suffer from intolerance and 3 fish and chips got mixed up one ordered was a gluten free and I experienced a bad stomach.

The most amazing value for money fish and chips I have ever tasted . The tartare sauce is to die for . Will be visiting again and again even though it’s out of my way by it is worth travelling for the quality and taste .

We decided to try this restaurant after seeing good reviews. Unfortunately the chips were not seasoned despite ordering salt and vinegar and the fish batter was soggy. I will stick to the Queen Vic in future. Very average.

As a bolton lass who works in chorley i can safely say this is the best chip shop for miles. this eve was my second visit The first time i was served by a very polite gent and this time a young lad who was also friendly. Ordered the light bite fish and chips for.my self and my elderly service user, the lemon tartre sauce is amazing!! Will 100% recommend to family and friends. I cant wait to try the cajun chicken next time, seen a guy order it and it looks unreal!

Award winning chippy - NOT !! Chips were bland and greasy and the fish was mainly batter and the male staff member was quite rude towards myself and another potential customer, who eventually walked away. Plenty of other fish and chip shops in Chorley which provide better food and service. Also there is a strange smell to the shop which needs attention

After years of feeling so poorly after eating chippy I had given up, until I had found Jseas in Chorley! Fish and chips never tasted so good, no bloated tummy, no indigestion and the quality of the food is amazing. Me and my family have been going to Jseas for years and loved every single meal. All the negative comments are clearly competition chippy as no where will ever be as good at this place!

Delicious cheese and onion pies! Best I've personally tried in the area. Had them with chips, peas and curry sauce. Yum! The shop is located close to Chorley Hospital.

Worst chippy I've been to chips were hard, very small portions, not worth the money there are better chippies in Chorley that are better value for money like the railway, the Queen Vic, browns and the big lamp.

Was a well priced fish and chip shop, cooked in healthy oils and didn't taste Horrible. Fresh fish like it was caught that day would recommend. Tastey 5 star.

J Seas is by far the best chippy I’ve been in for a long time. Great fresh fish along with very tasty steak pudding mmmm loves the fresh chips and generous portions It’s a long time since we’ve had a chippy tea and this was worth the wait! Very Covid safe and very clean cooking area. Staff are friendly and efficient, we will certainly return for more of the well priced food

Twice in two days I've been, this place is amazing! The quality of the food is second to none, honestly it's great! Had to take a couple of work mates and they were impressed too! Portion size for a large was huge.

I have been looking for a 5 Star Fish n chippy for a while and tried J Seas for the 1st time Friday 11th Sept 2020. I arrived just as it was closing but the very friendly lady in charge cooked me a fresh large fish as I had travelled from Preston which I was very impressed with !! I have travelled all over the UK as a Field Engineer and I can safely say that J Seas is the best chippy I have ever found. The fish was cooked beautifully and the chips totally non greasy. I will now make this my regular chippy. Ignore all the bad reviews as it’s quite clear that they are probably from their jealous competitors.

I've been coming here for years and it's still the best in Chorley. As well as the regular chippy staples, my wife is especially fond of the cajun chicken which is freshly made. With all the disruption due to the social distancing, there is now an order by phone, or order by the door and wait for collection.

Always get light bites fish and chips ever week as a treat, after visiting the lovely Maria's Launderette next door. The food is delicious, reasonably priced and very friendly staff. The only chippy we will go to in Chorley and we have tried them all. Highly recommended!!

Friendly chippy offering gluten free and other dietry needs on request. Spotlessly clean , quick and efficient service. Everything cooked to order so fresh too. Worth a visit and after sampling we will be back.... just be aware large portions are enormous... and value for money

Not the best review for a chippy that promised so much. Palm free oil. Wide ranging menu. Award winning. But...I found a different story. Not the most welcoming of staff for sure. £3.40 for a fish cake!!! The batter on the fish, on the top of it was lovely, but sitting on the greaseproof paper for just 5 minutes left a considerable pool of grease. There are better chippies in Chorley.

I went to this chippy a couple of weeks ago. I ordered sausage chips and gravy with a buttered barm cake. When i got home, i opened my order to find a big black hair in my barm, the chips disintegrated because they where that soggy. And the shop had an awful smell to it. Avoid!!!

My Asian colleague is a regular visitor here as the owner makes sure his fish and chips are halal friendly. We visited this week as usual and we were horrified when one of the staff said the owner fries his chips and meat in the same fryer. Absolutely disgusting.

Stumbled upon this chippy a few months ago while driving from work and stopped by. I ordered the cod and chips with tartar sauce and really enjoyed it. It wasn’t greasy and I could actually taste the fish for once. I have been a few times since then and am happy to travel the 25 minute journey there every time. Staff have always been friendly and chatty.

We called i. Here with our grandson last Saturday for some fish and chips. The staff were very friendly and informative. Explonaing why their fish and chips are a healthier option to regular fish and chips. Our grandson said it was " the best fish he had EVER tasted"

We visited last night for tea. We ordered our usual, cod and chips. The staff had changed, instead of the two women who are usually there, the two staff were young girls. The girl who served me wasn’t very attentive, a bit too busy chatting to the other. The food was just about ok, it was not as good as we have become accustomed to at J Seas. The batter wasn’t as good and crunchy, the chips just weren’t as good. The fish sizes were significantly smaller than usual. I thought the chips could have been left in longer, they were pale and hard at times, I don’t mind waiting a few minutes longer as I prefer my chips cooked to perfection. It is the first time we have not finished our food. Hopefully the quality will be back to normal on our next visit.

Popped in as I was driving past on my way to Premier Inn. The lady that served was fantastic and talked me into gravy with my chunky beef pie, chips and mushy peas. Best pie, chips and mushy peas I've had in a very long time, and the gravy was superb too. Will I return? Next time I'm up this way from Midlands you bet.

I'd driven the best part of 100 miles, from the Black Country, and was feeling a bit peckish, so opted for a meat and potato pie, which hit the spot. Not many chippies sell them where I live for some reason, so as a Lancashire lad, I knew what I wanted. Texture, filling, crust all perfect. Owner friendly.

I regularly buy their homemade chilli and chips but they have a wide variety of food available to takeaway.

On my quest of trying chorley chip shops came across here. Just off the ring road going to Eaves lane. Regrettably not impressed with quality of chips or barmcake.

This one the chippys in Chorley and I mean one the the mean the best, I've been to chippys all over the UK and it's in my top 5. The chips taste like chips and don't taste like **** The guy behind the counter cooks the food properly not like the facmus UK chippy

We visited last night for tea. We ordered our usual, cod and chips. This was probably the best we have had here, the reason being that the batter stayed really crispy and crunchy all the way to the end. Fish and chips usual excellent standard. Lovely.

Best chippy in Chorley! Everything is fresh and not greasy. Fish is cooked to order when you arrive and the chips are delicious. Well worth the 15 minute drive for chippy! Will be back and would highly recommend - lots of choice if you don’t just want fish and chips.

I visited this family run fish and chip shop on speck as it was t my normal day and ordered my usual fish and chips which normally the cook Diane does to a superb standard but today the fish was poorly cooked thick batter and greasy,maybe this man needs a lesson in changing the oil more regular,come back Diane.
