My wife and I recently took our disabled daughter here for her birthday meal, and while we were grateful for the staff's helpfulness in accommodating us despite our late arrival, our dining experience did not meet our expectations. To start, I ordered the king prawns in a thin milky chilli sauce. Unfortunately, the prawns were overcooked and tough, which made them less enjoyable than I had hoped. For our main course, we all opted for the beef stroganoff. Regrettably, the beef was similarly tough and chewy, making it difficult to enjoy. The sauce was disappointingly thin and lacked flavour, and the rice served alongside was watery, further detracting from the overall meal experience. While the staff were friendly and accommodating, the quality of the food left much to be desired. I hope this feedback can help improve the dining experience for future guests.

Great service and lovely starter and main

Had a fabulous lunch with friends. Couldn’t fault service. There was an issue over the soup not being warm enough but this was pleasantly resolved. Highly recommend this place. Well above average.

Our family visited the spinners in December for a meal just before Christmas. There were 21 people in total, a mixture of adults and children. Everyone said their food was exceptional. The service was great and the staff very polite and helpful.

Went with friends for drinks and decided to have food i had soup for starter and steak with pepper sauce which was so tasty others had pasta and pizza main meals which they all said were very good staff were very polite and profesyonel I would absolutely reccomend the house wine

on arrival we all commented how cold the room was (not a good start) . 2 of us had a soup starter which they said was quite tasteless .My mushroom starter was just ok. I had fish,chips & peas .The fish & peas were quite nice .Chips looked well undercooked but they were soft, so quite edible. Sticky toffee pudding was fine . Although none of the food warranted a complaint we did mention the cold room.Unfortunatly we didnt think a return visit likely

Took my grandson and his dad for breakfast with Santa. My grandson loved Santa and his breakfast, we all loved the breakfast, couldn't fault the Spinners on anything. Staff and food were fantastic. 😁

Booked in for 5pm for yea before the big rush. Requested a dish that wasn't on the menu and was delighted with it. The salmon had been on the Christmas menu but menu changed yesterday, no trouble with the chef and owner, happy to prepare 1 for me and the hubby chose his usual Fillet steak with a blue cheese sauce. Had a side order of garlic mushrooms with it to share. Everything was delicious, hot and freshly prepared service was excellent.

Had Sunday lunch at The Spinners today. The food has always been very good. We had some issues today which the owner dealt with in a very sincere courteous professional way. I'm not going to go into detail or give a poor rating as I believe that this was a one-off, as we have eaten here before several times without issue and would not put us off going back. I'm fully aware, working in a customer facing business, that its how problems are dealt with by the business that can determine how a customer reacts, which may lead to poor reviews. Will definitely be back and can only recommend The Spinners.

We came in tonight for our tea with Santa. It was amazing, we sat down ordered drinkZ and food then Hannah came over to take us to meet Santa, he was great ! Had his own little area and a bag of different toys, took time to chat to my son and let us take a picture. The food arrived not long after and that a long with desert was amazing. They do vegan options if you ask too. Would definitely recommend. Thank you for a great night

Yet again, I write another review for The Spinners, the perfect pub and restaurant for all pockets and all occasions. This time it is a review of Munchy Mondays, a one day a week feast of one, two or three courses that will tickle even the most discerning pallet at great prices. On Christmas Day this year we will be celebrating 9 (nine) years of being patrons of the Spinners, our first visit was at 1.00pm on a very wet 25th December 2015, turning up as we did just for a Christmas pint with our family to celebrate moving to the area two days prior. Bobbed in for a quick lunch with missus. Place was full due to a funeral. The 2 guys actually lifted a table across the room to a cosy nook by the log burner. Missus' fish and chips were lovely. Crisp batter, home made tartare sauce and choice of peas. I had the black pudding and white pudding stack and a portion of chips. The poached egg was just perfect. The sauce superb. My White Witch by Moorhouses was a perfect pint. We will definitely return.

This was a nostalgic visit for me. I haven't lived in the area for many years but went in for lunch whilst visiting family. The place is really nice and bears absolutely no resemblance to the old pub I knew in the 70s and 80s. Everyone I spoke to including the owner was friendly and welcoming. Service was great. Food was really nice. I will hopefully visit again.

Went to the Spinners Arms yesterday lunch time 20/11/2024 for a family meal for four persons. It was great,very warm welcome,table service with a smile. Plenty of time given to look at the menu. Food fantastic can recommend the gammon & chips gluten free as well.Extremely clean & comfortable dinning room. Would recommend this establishment to everyone.

Went for a family birthday meal. Had the game casserole, it was very tasty. Beer was good and the overall cost was acceptable for quality.

Absolutely wonderful evening for a small celebration for my sister's hen do, the staff were amazing and helped make the evening so special. The food was phenomenal and we are so happy we made the choice to hold our evening there. Thank you once again to all the staff who helped make this evening special!

Great local pub lovely atmosphere and really good food.

Tried the munchy Monday menu. Fantastic value. I tried the ribs and the fish and chips and my pal had the prawns and the beef dumpling dish. I wasn’t keen on the ribs but that was just personal taste as I thought they would be dry and they arrived in a sauce. Nice and tasty though. The prawns were delicious and huge, the fish was light and fluffy and the chips were perfect. My pals beef was delicious too. Highly recommended. Staff were friendly and efficient too. In this day and age it is difficult to find value like this. Very impressed. Keep up the good work.

It was our first visit to The Spinners. Lovely welcome, the service was perfect, the food was amazing and really good value. Lovely cosy atmosphere. The owner was great pleasure to meet also. He and the staff seemed genuinely concerned about the customers, making sure we were happy with everything. It really is a dog friendly and lovely place. We saw that they provided biscuits and water for their customers pets. We highly recommend this place and will certainly be going again. Thank you to The Spinners for a lovely experience.

Fantastic food, very welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble, even had a four month old baby with us and staff were very accommodating warming her milk! Always good quality locally sourced ingredients, something for everyone in the family, my little girl loves the sticky toffee pudding! 5 starts all the way, thank you Glen and Emma and staff

Yes again another amazing meal at The Spinners. Always go above & beyond. Our group was delayed getting together due to train issues but the staff were brilliant & very flexible & accommodating. Then to top it off, amazing food for all of us. The gambas pil pil were absolutely spot on. Then a mix of mains were everyone left with full tummies & smiling faces. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Served with beef stroganoff which contained carrot mushrooms and sauce only.Had this replaced with another beef stroganoff. Dry rice. Overcooked dry chips. Also had vegetable lasagne which was stodgy and pretty inedible with limp side salad also inedible. Gammon dinner very tough with almost raw veg.

What a great menu the food was delicious. Had A nice time. Musician was setting up stayed for they first song but had to get going. Nice atmosphere busy but didn't feel rushed.

Came here for a last minute mother-son date. My 13 year old lad said, and I quote, "you can tell that it's proper good food because my fish and chips filled me up, when these 2 for 1 places you always feel hungry afterwards" Didn't expect anything less. Always the best atmosphere too.. the lovely owners make an effort with guests, it has a fine dining family feel about the place.. You can tell it's got heart aswell as absolutely delicious food!

We don't eat out much so this was supposed to be a treat,it's edible but not not what we expected.Its pub grub not country dining we ordered 2 Curry's which were out of a jar and a gammon steak which was ok . Sorry but not for me.

The spinners managed to seat ten of us where other pubs couldn't, we pre ordered food which came really quickly, every dishe was excellent I had fish and chips, the batter was super crispy I couldn't finish all the chips I was too full, staff were all really friendly too ,good team spinners ,would go back and recommend to everyone.

Disappointing experience. This pub gets very good reviews so we planned a meet up with some friends for Sunday lunch, expecting home cooked and good quality food in a cosy country pub, you know the sort of thing I mean. I cannot understand the good reviews. It took an hour and a quarter until we were served our meals. No explanation, no warning there would be a delay. When our food came, it was bog standard, chain pub hungry horse sort of stuff. My burger, which was supposed to be buttermilk chicken with smoked applewood cheese was CLEARLY cooked in the batter and deep fat fryer they do the fish for fish & chips in. No cheese. I’ve never had a chicken burger like it… And I’ve eaten some chicken burgers in my life . It was battered and deep fried, literally , in the same way a cod is. Bizarre and insulting. I can only assume it was done this way for speed as the kitchen was so far behind. No one was happy with their meal. We didn’t bother to complain as we waited long enough and didn’t want to go through the rigmarole of sending food back and waiting etc . The food wasn’t good, but it was edible I suppose. We are and left feeing really disappointed. Also, there was no discernible manager (adult) to speak to. AVOID.

Popped in for a pint and shared a bowl of chips. Quiet, but we were told is was about to get busy. Lovely service from the staff. The place was exceptionally clean, nothing felt tacky! Great selection of beers and bottles behind the bar. We'll be back.

Called in Monday early evening without booking a table. A very busy place for a Monday evening and after our experience it’s not surprising. A table made available without having to wait, an extensive Monday Munchy special menu at a very reasonable price… I was fortunate to have the homemade lamb koftas before they sold out, followed by the lamb stew, both tasty and well flavoured. Hubby had gammon with all the trimmings and he throughly enjoyed. A fantastic atmosphere, friendly, courteous staff…. We will definitely call in again Good food, excellent menu choice, great service. We popped in on a whim in a Monday evening and the place was busy. At first glance, we didn’t think we would be able to get a table as it was so busy but we were asked would we like to wait at the bar for a short while and we would have a table. We had a drink and our table was ready. We ordered from their “munchy Mondays” menu and the food was beautiful. The Moroccan lamb stew with rice was truly a lovely experience with just the right level of spice for me. My wife had the roast sea bass with perfect fresh vegetables. Nothing was too much trouble for the excellent staff and we enjoyed a great meal in a convivial atmosphere. We will be back again soon.

Visited here on the Monday and ate from their specials menu, mushrooms were lovely, together with the soup, chicken Diane was very nice however the crispy potatoes tasted more like left over warmed up roasts, beef Stroganoff was very good, service was excellent. Drinks seemed expensive as a pint, medium white & small white came to more than the food. Very hospitable place to visit.

We haven't visited The Spinner's for a few years, so we were unsure what to expect. However, I can honestly say we were not disappointed. The staff were attentive and welcoming and the food was excellent. My husband had the curry (which is made as mild or as hot as the customer wishes) and I had the chicken burger. The food was delicious and we cleared our plates. The only comment I would make is that I wished there was a little more coleslaw with the burger. We had a fantastic evening and did not feel rushed at all, which is unusual these days when other pubs/restaurants giving you time limits on tables. We will definitely return, thank you.

This was my first time here. Potatoes and leek soup was very hot on service and first class. Roast dinner was also very nice as well and staff were very helpful. Only negative ponts car space was limited

a little creepy, we walked in and were met by the bar tender in our face asking what we want...we were stood in the door way and hadn't made it to the bar. we felt rushed and were being stared at. we won't be going again it was a uncomfortable experience. also it stank of dog

Lovely Sunday roast here today, went with family who had highly recommended it, we were not disappointed. The beef just melted in your mouth. Excellent value.

Superb service with an exceptional 3 meat Sunday roast lunch, excellent value for money, quality food cooked to perfection.

Visited on Thursday 30th May. Glen have you taken your eyes off the ball? We have visited here many times and were very happy. However 3 months ago we went for Sunday lunch, we and a number of other customers all complained about the meal. We visited again on 30th May and had beef stroganoff, one with rice the other with chips. the stroganoff was drowned in the juice and looked like soup. The chips were over cooked and very crispy.. May be the common denominator was Glen was not in the establishment.

Wonderful Yorkshire puddings with the Sunday dinner. This place is cosy and friendly. Staff cannot do enough to help and the prices are reasonable. Although the place is a little dated in parts this does not distract from the relaxed and friendly ambience and the feeling that nothing is too much trouble if it makes diners happy. Definitely recommended, particularly for a Sunday Roast.

We visited the Spinners today which is one of our favourite eating places although today's visit was different in that me and my daughter and two of my sisters were taking my mum who is wheelchair bound to visit the Spinners as it was somewhere she used to go with my dad and so perfect place to take her on my dad's anniversary. The Spinners doesn't have access for someone in a wheelchair but this wasn't an issue for Glen and his team. The three men dutifully lifted her in the wheelchair - obviously the food, atmosphere and service was on point but this extra bit of kindness was above and beyond. Thank you so much to Glen and the boys - we will be back!

9 of us dined on Friday night, on arrival Jamie behind the bar served us with our drinks and we were shown to our table. The menus were given and orders taken. All the food arrived together, not one person was left waiting. The food was amazing as always none of us were left with empty glasses the whole evening was a huge success. Glen and Emma, you have the best team ever at the Spinners and this is our way of saying thank you all of you xx

My favourite pub ever. Good food, service and very friendly. They take dogs also. There's an area outside which is in the sun all day. It's reasonably priced and when it's busy we've always been accommodated, once we'd been on a walk and there were 10 of us and although we had to wait a while we were sat down all together and had a super meal. I'd definitely recommend The Spinners at Cowling.
