Offers a good varied menu, food is very good and has a fresh home cooked taste to it . Sunday roasts one of the best we’ve had and good value. Staff friendly and welcoming.

Dog friendly pub , booking is a must if you are a larger group . Great host and food was beautiful, liver and bacon was delicious

I went to the Sea View for the first time a few days ago, and I loved it! Everything was perfect - the food, the atmosphere and the friendly staff who made us so welcome. I'll be back!

The beer festivals and firework displays are not to be missed. A decent local pub with good food. We left it late this evening to attend the fireworks only to find it sold out and we couldn't enter. You could still get served at the bar, so not at a loss and the firework display was good, although maybe not as good as last year (a little more sporadic this year, maybe we couldn't see the lower level fireworks from where we were positioned on the carpark?) We'll be back again before Christmas. Just wish the pub was nearer...

Great staff & food , last minute booking for a Sunday lunch no trouble at all for them to fit us in, log fire is a plus on a cold Sunday after a walk.

We have dined here before and it has always been good and our recent visit was no exception. Service was friendly and prompt. The food was good, not portions that were too big to finish but certainly enough. The atmosphere was friendly and clearly there were a number of regulars - always a good sign.

We came here shortly after shopping next door. We received a very warm welcome. The atmosphere was brilliant and the food was fantastic. The lovely lady also took our new born baby for a stroll around the pub as she started to cry so as we could eat our lunch. I would highly recommend The Sea View.

Nice and relaxed atmosphere in the TV room watching the footy with a chicken, leek and ham pie and a pint! The food is consistently good at the Sea View.

We had the peri peri chicken burger, the honest burger and kid chicken nuggets and chips. Everything was spot on! Very fresh and extremely tasty!

This is a lovely traditional family run pub, staff are always super friendly and food and drink are great.

The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was very warmly. The customer service was fantastic. Our newborn was crying and the lady kindly took her for a stroll around the pub whilst we ate our lunch. We can’t speak highly enough of the sea view. We are looking forward to returning very soon.

Lovely old building, food nice, puddings beautiful, obviously the chef's speciality is desserts. The staff were very welcoming, very professional and hard working. But we came out for a relaxing lunch for my partners birthday,we weren't even going to try here, and we really shouldn't have. What ruined it was listening the manager/owner swearing at the staff. I've lost track of the amount of times he's said the f word. I don't mind bad language but aggressively said to your young employees is bullying. And wouldn't be acceptable in any other work environment. If my children would have been with us I would have walked out without paying the bill. This guy needs to give himself a good shake, and put his business and staff first instead of his own ego. We most definitely will never return. £90 not well spent.

The Sea View has been with the same family for many years. No wonder it continues to maintain such an excellent reputation. Food made on the premises and it shows with the high quality. Never had an individual meat pie quite like the ones served yesterday. Top notch! Lee Thompson heads up a great team with nothing left to chance when it comes to service. Always willing to discuss, agree, and implement any special arrangements. Only downside we found was that when requesting water for the table, it was served in plastic cups/glasses. Just didn't fit in with everything else which was impeccable.

Food and Service to a high standard, but the prices, a good bit more than other local pubs, this said, I had an expensive sweet, but it was superb.

Great food and the welcome is as warm as the log fire. Steak sandwich was brilliant with a peppercorn sauce to die for.

Dreadful food we were entertaining visitors from abroad & took them to The Sea View it was a very bad experience. Staff not very attentive food was dreadful will not visit again.

Thank you once again to the staff at Seaview for a lovely lunch. We used the function room for a get together for friends who all used to work together. The food was all brought out at the same time, was hot and very good. Everyone really enjoyed it and we had a great afternoon.

Sorry, I didn't have food, but those who did seem to enjoy it Great place to visit, busy but service quick and efficient.

The Seaview is a firm favourite of ours. Lovely country pub feel with lovely home cooked food. Sunday roast is exceptional and they’re very dog friendly.

Called in today, with no booking, to see if a table for 2 was available. It was very busy but a lovely waitress soon had us seated. Lovely , friendly atmosphere, really nice staff, especially waitress, and as for the food…..exceptional! My husband enjoyed the Shin beef and I had traditional roast beef Sunday lunch and it was delicious, absolutely 5 star and at pub prices. Can’t wait to visit again soon ❤️

Not been for many years but knew food used to be very good. Thought we'd try it again for a change. Not disappointed. Place was very quiet when we went in. Food and drinks ordered, excellent service and the food is fantastic. Wouldn't hesitate to return for some more lovely home cooked food

Excellent food, friendly and efficient service. Ordered blue sirloin and it was cooked to perfection and piping hot. Partner had the mixed grill, excellent value for money and all very well seasoned. So many places just put a bland chicken breast on the plate but the chicken here was lovely. All veg crunchy and fresh, chips chunky and delicious too. Nice range of drinks, cosy atmosphere with both dining room and bar area available. Bonus points for the lovely dogs sitting in the bar!

Turkey and stuffing sandwich was pretty good. But chips were really good. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and just slightly salted. They were nice.

We booked here for a meal after our wedding,there was eighteen of us so we’re advised to have the table d’ hote menu which we duly did and we were not disappointed. There was a very good choice and all the food was excellent and the service was first class nothing was too much trouble and I would recommend the Sea View to anyone wether it be a celebration or just a Sunday roast

Excellent evening beginning with very warm welcome from the young man whose name is Ica(?) .He was very helpful throughout the evening. The food was first class and the prices were good. Amazing pub to which we will definitely return.

I come here 7 years ago and I come again last week I don't like giving my name out on the net but Lee may know who I'm since he did run the Nelson when Keith and Ann left and as always this place is lovely Lee really runs this pub perfect the food was brilliant and the beer was amazing we will be back soon I was back again on Thursday night with my wife and omg again it was brilliant food and beer yet again brilliant. Lee has always been a nice person he's 1 of the nicest people you could ever know. Now he knows who typed this review

Food was great. Nice little pub. Biggest issue was with how the head waitress spoke to the new staff, she was clearly training them and spoke horribly to them. We were served by a couple of them and they were great, clearly nervous but attentive. One of them was visibly shaking from nerves. I would be too if I'd been spoken to like she had been. Amongst the quotes we heard being next to the bar 'Don't listen to a customer if they tell you how to pour a pint, they're idiots' 'Dont' think for yourself just do what I say' Im sure the lady in question only meant to make our experience better, however, the way the new staff were spoken to just made us uncomfortable, we'd have been more happy to have a young waiter/waitress to make a mistake than to hear someone so young spoken to with such disrespect. We enjoyed the food but unfortunately this was the main thing our group of 6 came away talking about.

We visited the property for lunch with friends and enjoyed both Linda and Lee's hospitality and great fresh food.We choose from the lighter bites menu as it was quite a warm day. We had chicken curry, bangers and mash and a prawn sandwich and chips.We also chose from the desert menu,apple crumble and custard and ice cream,sticky toffee pudding and ice cream and jam sponge and custard. We will return and sample the a la carte,because we would recommend this place to anyone who wants a quality meal in a great rural pub.

As usual Lee and his friendly team served us with some excellent pub food (I recommend the chicken burger!) and tasty beers. Well worth a visit and the Seaview is dog friendly too!

The food is excellent and the staff are really helpful came on Saturday with my partner fantastic meals would definitely recommend I have already told a few people who have also been and they too enjoyed there meals it is a must.

Six adults and five children under 8. Brilliant. Given side room to ourselves, and super service. Food very good indeed, children's requests well catered for. Result , one happy family and no stressed parents.

Couldnt fault the food and the service really enjoyed the veggie lasagne and the pudding Service was very homely, but it was spoilt by allowing a dog in the dining area that started barking whilst we were eating ,would suggest having a dog owners area away from People eating there much looking forward to evening meal .
