I absolutely love visiting The Farm Shop and the Cafe. Such a beautiful location and most staff are friendly! However, unfortunately, I have visited the Farm Shop a number of times and whenever I am served by any of the older females inside the shop, I do not feel welcome, they are very rude and somewhat dismissive of me. I am always polite and always friendly towards them and yet I feel a coldness from them. What rubs salt in the wound is when I hear them treating other customers with respect and serve them with a smile. Maybe it’s just because of how I look maybe? It is a shame really as I think the Farm Shop is great.

Had lunch here today both my husband and myself had the cheese pie with chips and veg. The pie was soggy as if it had been warmed in a microwave and the veg was very overcooked chips had no colour or taste . When asked as we paid the bill if our meal was okay I repeated my previous comment she replied that she would let the kitchen know. The kitchen should also realise how bad the food was from the amount of food left on our plates.

Disappointing Experience and Overpriced I had high hopes for this cafe, but unfortunately, my visit was a letdown. I ordered two toasties, a portion of chips, and two iced lattes, which ended up costing a whopping £32. For that price, I expected a decent meal, but what I got was far from it. The toasties were incredibly thin, bland, and made with poor-quality bread. They were supposed to come with crisps, but I was shocked to find only five measly crisps on the plate. The chips were undercooked and lacked any real flavor. To top it off, the iced lattes were watery and tasted as if they were made with tap water rather than proper coffee. The building and the room were actually quite nice, which makes it all the more disappointing that the food was so subpar. This place has potential, but unless they make some serious improvements, I won't be returning. I definitely do not recommend it.

All seems fine when you enter the place, you're shown to your table and asked for your order in due course. The meal was very mixed. My wife's basically cheese on toast, plus a fried egg, she said was fine. My fish and chips, a little different though. The fish looked a decent size but very little fish in an abundance of batter. The chips were very poor quality, hard on the inside and rubbery. The peas were fine. I told the waitress on our leaving, and was met with the usual " I'll tell the kitchen ". No sorry, at all. This is not an expensive restaurant but the basics should be easy enough to prepare. We will not be returning. Pity it's such a nice setting. There is plenty of competition quite close with far better fare.

Horrendous wheelchair access, the website was a lie. They have a disabled toilet but you have to go up a step to get to it and as my partners wheelchair has not developed the ability to she could not use the toilet. (See image one) They put a flimsy metal ramp down and unlocked a door to let us in, it was dangerous, undignified, and unwelcoming (See image 2) A concrete ramp would cost hardly anything, assisted access reduces independence and staff were clearly inconvenienced to have us there. The food was quite nice however, very home made. If you're not a wheelchair user it's a stunning location.

Honestly…we were disappointed. Place was heaving so we were put upstairs and it was freezing. The hostess quickly flipped the radiator on but we had to work out how to adjust it ourselves as no heat came out. Took a while. Seating was poor. Small, hard, wooden chairs round a table wedged into a corner. We’re tall and it wasn’t comfortable. I had chicken and mushroom pie which was ok. Nothing special but ok. Husband had fish and chips. The fish was tasteless. It really did taste of absolutely nothing so I don’t think it was cod. The batter was crispy but bland. Nowhere near as good as our local chippy! Coffee wasn’t great either. Service was friendly and good. Price wise…it’s not expensive but the menu is a bit limited. Decor is attractive, it’s clean and bright and it’s nicely styled inside. The team could not have been more accommodating - nothing was too much, they made it clear they would be working around us and any needs we had. The team were so professional, friendly and approachable whilst the day went ahead but also in the organisation leading up to the day. The food was so fresh and tasted great! Booked this for fathers day having previously been and the food was delicious. Not so on this occasion. We were seated on arrival really quickly just after 10am. We had to wait for a good 20 mintues for someone to come and take our order. The food arrived 45-50 mins later and we were told there had been an issue in the kitchen and apolgised for our delay, however there were no hash browns left. We order 3 full english breakfast which should have 2 hash browns. 2 breakfasts had 1 each the 3rd had none. The bacon was what can only be described as a burnt offering. The sausages were dreadful. No taste over cooked and hard. The toast was so hard, but not burnt. There was a lot of grease on the plate. It was aparant that there was a lot of issues within the kitchen from the noises and burning smells coming from in there. We wasnt offered a discount on the food for not having everything we should have even though we heard others being offered a discount. Overall very disappoining and felt sorry for our daughter who had booked this for her dad.

From the minute we walked in we were put at ease. We were offered two different areas of the restaurant a quiet one and a slightly rounder one where there were some bottomless brunch going on . Opted for the more atmospheric side and they picked us a perfect table . The evening we were served by Matthew, Max and Alesia. I’m a pretty fussy eater, but no matter what we asked for a little tweets here and there to the menu everything was done without a fuss. The food was lovely, and I can’t wait to go back. Our first visit and it won’t be our last. The manager was lovely also . We had gammon and carbonara with a garlic tomato and cheese bread to Start . All was perfect .

Which if you are wondering it means Oh Mamma what great value for money! My last review of this place was several years ago and I think it was 5 stars then. It’s not changed for me. We called in on an off chance at around 6pm on a Saturday evening. The place was busy and we didn’t hold much hope. Thankfully the lady front of house, I think she owns it and I remember her from last time we were there many years ago, kindly squeezed us in provided we were done in an hour. Perfect for us as we only wanted a quick bite. We ordered an Etna pizza and Ndjua pasta. I was DES so the mrs had a glass of house red and I stuck on the corporations pop. The food was awesome and service quick and polite full. What we didn’t realise was that we had snuck in on the pizza and pasta offer and the bill came to…………£20! You’d pay more eating at Maccas! Keep up the great work and don’t believe some of the recent reviews that get 1 star because they can’t split the bill for some grey army! But if people choose not to go then that’s fine by me. It’s a great local restaurant that won’t be as busy so we can enjoy it. Recommended.
