Lovely catch up with friends. Food delicious, lots of choice and reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and attentive. Will be returning and would definitely recommend!

Spent 2 nights at the Hinds Head Hotel. The room was great, clean and tidy with plenty of room and on suite. The bar and restaurant were very good, comfortable, clean and airy. The food was excellent with a very good menu. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Large car park. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend! Lovely pub, with a few hotel rooms above. Rooms are spacious, well insulated from the noise of the pub and restaurant. Perfect stop over point on route to Scotland. Views are fantastic too.

Food & service was outstanding today (Mothers Day ) the menu had so much choice to cater for everyone. Chef even cooked up a pizza for my autistic son which is hugely appreciated on such a busy day . The staff did amazing always happy To help, very polite and attentive , ensuring all Mums was made to feel special today . The food was delicious & presented beautifully!! I had The roast beef dinner,the best roast Ive eaten . The burger and fries was a huge hit with my son . Desserts was to die for 😍.. we really Enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back !!

Very friendly welcome. The room was stylish and comfortable with a spotless bathroom. All looked shiny and new. Unfortunately (for us) we didn't have time to sample the cuisine, as we were attending a family event, but many locals praised it highly. The bar/public areas looked comfortable and inviting, with a good selection of local ales on tap. Hopefully next visit will be longer.

What can I say 1st time we've ever been and certainly won't be the last we're still here as i write from the moment we walked in we were greeted with a warm friendly welcome the service was excellent staff are so friendly the food was also excellent and really beautifully presented my wife had the cheese pie with veg and new potatoes I had the pepper steak pie and if you enjoy a traditional homemade pie you certainly won't be disappointed both pies were packed full to bursting they also do a cracking pint of guinness and prices in our opinion are extremely fair will definitely be visiting again soon

I recently visited The Hinds Head for some hearty, comforting food. I started with the breaded goat’s cheese, which was a special at the time and I really hope they add it to the main menu because it was divine! For mains, I went for the fish pie, which came out piping hot and packed with fresh, tasty fish. Exactly how a fish pie should be! A usual order for me is the slow roasted lamb shank, it’s always cooked to perfection with a great portion of meat and just look at that minted mash😍 I love how the Hinds Head has that proper classic pub feel but with a modern twist on both the decor and menu. First time here and it was excellent friendly staff and service. Food was home made and delicious. I had the Sunday roast and I would have it again it was superb. Top marks. We will be back again soon.

The inside of the pub has been decorated very nicely. The food excellent. The car park is not very inviting and could do with some new tarmac. The views at the back are great, will be nice in the summer.

We thoroughly enjoyed the full English breakfast at £6 each on the weekend. It's essential for a group of friends to maintain this tradition of getting together and enjoying a reasonable, priced breakfast together. The young ladies waitressing/ serving this weekend. They seem that their heads were all over the place and bless them . No spoons or saucers are provided with cups. Toast is forgotten at breakfast, as well as milk for coffees. These are minor issues that can be easily resolved. I'm hoping it's just a one off Otherwise a fantastic place for breakfast and lovely atmosphere .

What a fantastic place. Very warm welcome, lovely atmosphere. The staff very attentive. A big thank you to Ellie and Konnor for looking after us so well. The food was amazing as was the service. I had the thia chicken and my other half had the lamb, all of it was fresh, cooked to perfection and really tasty. The chef definitely needs thanking. The staff all was polite, attentive and welcoming, we took the dog with us and she loved the real fire. For a Monday night it was busy and when we got the food, we could see why. The pub, toilets and bar was spotless! Thank you, we will definitely be back, the fish that came out looked amazing, so we need to try it. Brilliant meal

Great place to stop for lunch! Had been in the area during the late morning and decided to stop off for lunch and found the Hinds Head. What a find! Thankfully, for us, they weren't busy so were able to gat a table straightaway. Had a look at the menu and I decided to go for the Pie daily Special which was. Guinness and Steak Pie with home made chips and my wife went for the Battered Haddock and home made chips with mushy peas. The pie was delicious and there wasn't a thing left on my plate. The chips were superb. My wife couldn't finish her fish, only because it was so big! The fish itself was really good. After a wee break we shared a sticky toffee pudding with ice ream and were not disappointed! Will definitely make another visit!

Had a lovely meal with my friend at the Hinds Head Hotel, staff were lovely, amazing homemade lasagne with chips and salad. We went for lunch, would definitely recommend!

Food was good, service not so good. Plates and bowls from starters were on the table for 10 minutes before being taken away, same for the main meal after waiting over 20 minutes for it to come. The table behind us were in the same boat. Won't be coming back any time soon after having positive experiences previously.

Finally a decent pub that does proper pood food! Lamb was excellent, and my kids actually ate their dinners 😊 no complaints here. We will be back!

Had a brilliant experience at my niece's wedding reception.

Visited here yesterday for a Sunday Roast and wasn't disappointed. I really fancied pork and the chef went out of his way to make me a Pork roast which was highly appreciated! Will definitely be returning regularly. Didn't manage to get the names of the staff but they were all very friendly!

I am a regular visitor to The Hinds Head, and the breakfast, as all of the food is exceptional. The choice on all of the menus, suits all tastes and nothing is too much trouble. I had breakfast this morning and I do not know what the person giving a one star review has a reason to complain , as the doors were open at just after 9am. They were certainly open before 9.10 a.m. Such misled comments can be detrimental a local business which providea a quality service and in the current climate, inaccurate reviews should not be taken notice of. The staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Keep up the hard work.

Went for breakfast as it says open at 9am waited at the door not open. Rang them they said they will open in a couple minutes knowing we were stood waiting. 9.15, 10 minutes after ringing them and still not opened the door!!! Ended up leaving very annoyed and disappointed. Clearly didn't want our custom.

The most perfect place for food and drinks … food was absolutely excellent and staff are so attentive , cannot do enough for you ! This place never fails … whether it’s breakfast , lunch or dinner the food is always exceptional.. Yesterday we had 60 people for a gathering and it was truly amazing , food as always perfect .. This morning a champagne breakfast served by happy attentive staff … just perfect

Just been to The Hind’s Head for Sunday lunch and it was excellent. Warm welcoming atmosphere and brilliant service. The food was lovely. There was lots of choice of meats for the roast and they went out of their way to accommodate special requests members of my party had. I will definitely be returning!!

Came to the hinds head today with my partner and two children, the food is exceptional we had two roast beef dinners. The beef was cooked perfect and the children’s meals are plentiful, the service was second to none the staff can’t do enough for you with out being over baring. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu during the week, thanks for a lovely meal out!

I have visited and stayed at The Hinds Head on a regular basis. I fully endorse the comments made on an earlier post by a lady called Hayley. On Saturday , there were a number of special gatherings and unbeknown to me was an old school friend who , along with the family were celebrating and remembering the life of their late mother, and had a great time having lunch here. Moving on, my experience of dining here is always first class. I would highly recommend here for any casual or formal event. The outside arrangement and marquee and heated booth areas including outside bar areas are stunning, with fantastic space. The menu and quality of food and choice is amazing , including a separate hand made pizza menu. The accommodation is excellent and much better in quality than the big chains in the locality. Whether it be a business trip, family gathering or special events, this is definitely an ideal venue. Great staff who are a credit to the owners. Keep up the great work.

We went to the Hinds Head for the first time for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed a beer and lovely cooked food. Service was good, food was excellent! Only slight downside is the access in and out of the pub / restaurant at the back and the need to go to the bar to get served. Outside area is dine really well and I can imagine it’s great when live music is on.

Rooms reasonably priced. Tea/coffee well stocked including biscuits water and porridge. Gel/shampoo provided for everyone. Comfy beds.

Called here for my daughters birthday. We found the mains ok, however, the deserts were very poor and expensive for what was on the plate. Could not fault the staff though but would not return.

Booked the whole restaurant for my daughters 40th party and everything was perfect. England were playing and the manager held all food back for us til after the game! Staff coped brilliantly with us all and were so helpful and attentive. Had a fantastic surprise 30th birthday party for my son. We had the outdoor marquee area and it was perfect. Staff were attentive and pleasant, a credit to Kev & Chris! The food was delicious, we had chosen to go with pizza, salad and chips…. The pizzas were exceptional and we can definitely recommend them. All in all it was a really good venue to party in. I must mention Ellie who looked after us all on the evening, she was lovely.

We ate here last week, to be honest the food standards have gone down hill since our last visit. The tables were to close together, not a relaxing restaurant experience. They also had a live singer on, he was good but too loud, the combination of tables squashed together and live music we ate up and left. Shame we did not have the same experience as last time. Would we return? 100% No 👎

A table of 7 of us walked in when they had a wedding function on but they still managed to fit us in by putting tables together. Excellent food, excellent service, very clean and tidy pub and would definitely recommend

Absolutely beautiful pub woth a great atmosphere. The food is always wonderful, with a good range of dishes to choose from. Service is consistently first class. I only dropped a star as during our last 2 visits, when we moved into the garden area, it was overrun by teens ( looked about 14-16) who were loud and obnoxious- completely different vibe to the one inside the pub.

Popped in here as a treat before I photograph a wedding and honestly I made a great choice. Our food was so full of flavour, great portions and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely return, we sat inside but appreciated the lovely view outside.. Amazing place!

Well first off we were greeted with a warm welcome the staff were lovely and well turned out. They couldn't do enough for us. The whole experience was lovely my wife is just getting over bowel cancer and we are always careful about what she can eat but that was no problem everything was explained and dealt with professionally. The food was exceptional and tasty. I had the steak and Guinness pie and the others had the chicken curry half and half. Not a lot else I can say but please try it if you haven't been you will not be disappointed. We will definitely be going back. I would also like to thank the staff who made a wonderful gesture at the end of the meal which will remain between us you know who you are.

Compliments to the chef! I was tempted with the spicy sweet potato soup for starters and this hit the spot. Fantastic Kiev dish for my main. I stayed for one night at the Hind Head Hotel. The room was great, and the food at dinner was exceptional, as was the service. Definitely would stay again. Very well run pub with rooms.

Had heard good things about the Hinds Head and was really pleased that I went. Lovely calm atmosphere and plenty of tables close to the bar as well as a separate room. Menu has got a wide range of options, and the price of the items is great, especially when you see the size of the items. Had a delicious garlic bread with feta and red onion that was absolutely huge and delicious. Fish & Chips for my main, homemade mushy peas and tartare sauce were both excellent. Batter on the fish was really light but nicely crispy. Didn't look at the dessert menu but only because I was absolutely stuffed. Meal with 1 starter, 2 mains and 2 drinks was less than £40. Absolute bargain. Staff were all brilliant. Highly recommended it.

Came here on a recommendation and really lived up to the hype! Relaxed and pleasant atmosphere combined with delicious food (check out the garlic bread with extras) made for a winning meal. The pub being dog friendly was the icing on the cake. Will definitely return.

Popped in late afternoon and the three of us had tasty starters...garlic mushrooms and garlic bread. Our mains (pizzas) were very well cooked and again tasty. Corona was on offer at 2 for £5. Staff were very helpful and friendly

We had takeaway pizzas last night absolutely fabulous service from the staff the pizzas were ready to collect on time and tasted delicious. Highly recommend for your take away pizzas especially when 2 for 1. We’ll definitely be back 😋

Start off by saying the staff we met were really friendly and interactive ensuring we had an enjoyable experience. Various small intimate spaces to be seated as well as large open spaces outside! Variety of starters and mains menu that hopefully meets your appetite? We had some fine food with really good sized portions, recommend the chicken livers with chilli, ( bowl full) black pudding slices with poached egg, pepper sauce was ok. Mains of salmon fillet and house chicken curry went down well, again good sized portions. Variety of alcoholic drinks and wine menu to wash everything down. Lovely visit enhanced by really lovely staff.

Absolutely brilliant as per usual… two ladies served us on Valentines night and they were so lovely, warm and friendly… really does make all the difference. Our food was excellent all served promptly. Just fab one of our fave places to eat.

First time been here and it was amazing. There was 5 of us 4 of us had the 3 course special the food was delicious and hot. I had the Sirloin it was the nicest steak I've had for a long time . The waitresses very helpful and friendly (think she was called sam) The desserts was to die for !! Cherry cheesecake and the tramasu delicious. Very reasonable prices for high quality food . Called in for a drink. we have been several times before but today was really special. It was an 80th birthday party in full swing. The place was buzzing and as usual, a fantastic selection of wine, beers and spirits. Since we came last time, they have some outside booths each of which have a heater two electric sockets, 2USB sockets with a table and bench inside. There are plenty of tables all with a fantastic view across to the Hills. Sam and the rest of the ladies behind the bar were exceptional and gave us a really friendly welcome. Be back soon.

A party of 15 Thursday evening. Had side room to ourselves. Everyone's meal was served swiftly and was piping hot with generous portion sizes. Food delicious... can recommend the Fish Pie. Staff friendly and welcoming. Will return. Keep up the good work!

Just been for an excellent family meal of 5, some of us ate from the set menu and some from the main menu. The food was fabulous, everything was cooked perfectly all the vegetables were full of flavour and the presentation was beautiful with ample food portions. Our child also ate for free. The service from staff was fantastic everyone was so polite and helpful. Luckily we booked and would strongly advise people to book as the restaurant was constantly full and busy. Thank you for a lovely meal and evening, will definitely return again.

We had a meal jan 20th and although the food was really nice I was a little dissapointed id rang in the morning explaining that im a slimmingworld member and to ask if it would be possible to have a jacket potato with my steak and some vegetables cooked without any added fats or oils When it came the potato had butter in it and the veg sauteed didnt want to make a fuss about it while there as id rang in advance to try save the embarresment of explaining it all at the table

Had a beautiful 3 course lunch. Not rushed. There was plenty of choice on the menu.

Went here Christmas Day . My partner paid quite a bit for the two of us for a 3 course meal. I would never return. Extremely Slow service . Not attentive to customers. Slow to remove dirty plates and glasses . Food bland . If I could give no stars for atmosphere and service I would . And one star for the food. We both said we have Had better carverys for a lot less money.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday Lunch ( no roast options for Xmas ) and we all choose from the set menu but a Christmas menu was available. High praise for the slow roast belly pork . Friendly and efficient waiting/ kitchen staff and an organised Manager made this busy time smoothly run. Very good and will return.

Came for my partners birthday on a Wednesday night. They do a deal, 2x steaks for £35 including a bottle of wine. What a brilliant deal. The steak was perfect, the wine lovely and I had a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The staff were amazing. Beautiful country pub with an open fire! We will definitely be back and I’ll be recommending it to others!
