Lovely restaurant, excellent food, and very welcoming and friendly staff - Morgan, Ben and Liam looked after us wonderfully, all three of them are a credit to the restaurant, and the service they provided is enough reason for us to become returning customers - that, and the food was lovely too! We’ll be back here again soon that’s for sure

Absolutely fabulous. Everything was great about our experience here. We were greeted with a lovely friendly welcome at the door and from entry to exit we were made to feel very welcome. The food, service, and staff were all top notch. The place looked really nice too. I I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I came with my partner. We both had the chicken fajitas, my partner added chips, and I added katsu fries and corn on the cob. It was so lovely to get the crowd with good sized portions of the accompaniments. I cannot fault a thing. We were served by Niamh and she is a credit to the place. Thank you for a lovely meal.

OK I admit I was Suprised at how much I enjoyed my meal here and the guy serving us think his name was Aaron where did they get him from he was fantastic not just serving us but with everyone even an awkward couple who wanted him too basically pick for them off the menu what they were eating. All the staff should be commended in fact for how they worked together Oh yes the meal was delicious I've been to a few upmarket restaurants that could do with lessons from the Hartwood

We arrived at 9.30am to be told they were fully booked for breakfast. There was one table taken. I'm sorry but why turn away business when the tables in the bar were not being used! The lady on reception was less than friendly too.. very disappointing.

We have just had a super lovely meal at Hartwood Hall, spare of the moment decision, we booked an hour before we arrived. We arrived and the table was ready for us, Joe was the young lad who looked after us and he was really really nice, so attentive and polite. The food was unbelievable!! So good! My little 2 year old had a children’s meal - cheese and tomato pizza, chips and beans and he wolfed it down, he’s a fussy eater normally but he loved it! Top marks to the chef!! We will definitely be back again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend! It’s so comfortable and spacious as well! They could fit more tables in but they don’t they have kept it nice and spacious! The best pub lunch my family have had in a very long time. One look at me and you'd know that I enjoy my grub. This was quite simply 5 Star, A1, tastey food.

We go to the Hartwood regularly for breakfast or lunch and sometimes dinner. It is always very clean with really excellent staff and service. The quality of the food is good and in general is good value for money. Only once did we have a problem and it was sorted without any fuss very quickly. Highly recommend!

Lovely food especially the vegetarian options, service a little on the slow side but did not spoil our enjoyment and was always polite.

Booked a table about 5 weeks ago for 6 at Hartwood Hall, for Thursday 21st Dec. Got a email 2 weeks ago to say the table was cancelled. So I thought must be a blip at their end, so booked it again, then tonight received another email 2 hours before we go out for our family meal to say that the table has been cancelled AGAIN, and not by me. So I rang Hartwood Hall at 3.30pm, and had to leave a message. Surprise surprise no one came back to me. Not recommended. You have lost our trade and won’t be recommending you in the future to friends and Family!!

Pre-booked Xmas lunch yesterday and after going last year and having lunch there many times during the year was very disappointed. Designated a table which should have been for two not four, starter was fine, main course, turkey fine, potatoes definitely not roasted, carrots, turnips and sprouts undercooked, broccoli and peas fine, cranberry sauce had to be requested. Desert two fine, two spiced berry crumbles came as apple crumble which would not have been ordered and was not not on the menu. Many diners were not having the Xmas menu so why were we sat at a table for two? After looking forward to a lovely experience were complete let down!!!

Part of the Greene King group which we have been to before for lunch and dinner. Menu is a little different here and a little more expensive. The nachos were just ok not really a lot of them ! Burger brilliant chargrilled sandwich excellent . The gent who served us was good however that couldn’t be said about the others … disinterested would be the word I’d use.

Came for a quick meal after the fireworks. Nice venue with good outside space. Food is simple pub food. I had the chicken skewers which were nice and my partner had the mixed grill (he said the chicken was a little dry but the rest was fine). Good place to come in for a bite to eat or lunch

we came for a Sunday roast as it was local i ordered squid for starter it came not even crispy but soggy and very chewy! for main i ordered a turkey roast and the others ordered beef it came cold with the tiniest portion for what we paid it was not worth it! the roast potatoes were barely cooked not even the slightest crisp very small amount of gravy aswell as little to know veg and a very small sized portion. customer service by a few of the staff was not the best the atmosphere was very poor aswell as one staff member was particularly rude! will not be coming back here again and we will stick to our usual place

Loved nipping here for a drink - nice little pub, not too overpriced, friendly staff, not too sticky tables. That was until they served the saddest looking Prosecco. It was literally half a glass!! I would of been embarrassed to hand that over after charging someone 😂🤣 Not sure why the measly measure was severed in a pint sized champagne glass. And why stop selling the mini bottles and going to measures on Prosecco. Who does that? Savages, do that!!!! The positive, the peroni was good, no complaints there, spot on! The pic is the actual serving, no sips taken. Stick to wine, pints or bottles until they pull their Prosecco cork out the clouds!

Lovely place, nice bright & airy, lovely staff, food was nice although the mixd grill was quite expensive for what you got, we’ve had better portion sizes elsewhere that was my only quibble !!

Amazing level of proficiency and customer service from Arron. His ability to guide us through the menu, prices, deals and remember our complicated order without even using a note pad spoke to his abilities. Making us feel that no question or request was too great. Fantastic experience, even better service.

We had a very enjoyable dinner here. It was quite quiet considering it was bank holiday Monday. The food was very good, two salmon, one well cooked rare steak and a Hunters chicken. The trio of sharing desserts was delicious, would definitely have again. If we could fault anything it world be that the potatoes were not really roast ones, more boiled, as on menu. The staff were friendly and helpful but needed a little prompting to provide cutlery with dessert.

Part of Greene King group, was expecting the usual offers & nightly specials but this branch didn't do these. OK, we stayed with expectation of being a better quality meal, unfortunately I was disappointed. Steak sandwich lacking, had to check what it was supposed to include as no sign of cheese & very little red onion or steak , cold gravy & when heated unpleasant. Nachos looked nice as was the ultimate burger & apple crumble, maybe i just ordered wrong but for £11 /£12 was expecting more Lots of staff but not one asked how was the meal, staff young so didn't feel able to raise. Nice decor & got the impression its trying to be gastro pub but missed the mark.

What a difference to my last experience at this restaurant! After I spoke to the manager regarding my last experience I was kindly offered a free meal for myself and the friend that I visited with; however we did not want to arrive when they were expecting us and chose to visit anonymously to give an unbiased review. They must have listened to what we said, or we really did catch them on a very bad day last time because things couldn’t have been better this time around. We were greeted at the door and seated appropriately ( we had my friends grandchild with us and we were seated where there was room for a highchair.) Every member of staff was polite and helpful and interacted with us all, including the child. Food was fresh, very tasty and nicely presented. I thoroughly recommend the crispy squid in a salt & pepper coating, with sweet & spicy chilli sauce, perfectly cooked and a starter I will definitely be repeating. We both had the basic char grilled burger with extra bacon and and cheese which was lovely; although a neighbouring table had chicken fajitas which were served on a sizzling skillet with tortillas, jalapeños, grated cheese, sour cream, guacamole and tomato salsa and looked and smelt amazing……my choice next time! My friend had Vanilla and raspberry cheesecake, it was served with raspberry coulis, shortbread crumb and clotted cream ice cream. I had the clotted cream ice cream and it was delicious. I will definitely be visiting this establishment again after the positive experience of this latest visit. We were very happy with everything and I would happily recommend the Hartwood Hall to everyone.

Enjoyed a very tasty lunch in pleasant surroundings with friends today which was a relief as we don't know this area. Good choice on menu and excellent service. Initially the postcode took us north up the road and we had to turn round but then spotted it easily. (Should have noted the map on the website!) Would definitely return.

Nipped in on the off change. Set lunch menu for me with grilled salmon and added the crispy squid as a starter. Squid was excellent and spicy sauce was delish. My son had bbq Jack burger which he loved. Real onion rings he really enjoyed. Good food pleasant atmosphere. Recommended.

Oh my goodness! we are staying at the hotel, and had dinner at the restaurant, and it was wonderful! The food was fabulous. Some of the best we have had so far on our holiday. Our room is spacious, clean, and very nice. The staff has been fabulous. We couldn’t recommend this place anymore. Hats off to the staff, Elliot, Joe, Bobby, and Tara. They were fabulous!
