The best restaurants serving British food in Cheshire East North West

Some of the food (chips in our case) was cold, and service was somewhat delayed. So - so food. We had a lovely steak on our last visit before Christmas, and the service was excellent. Not so this time, unfortunately.

Probably the best furniture store in England definitely in the North West of England

I have in the past wrote a nice review about this cafe all that ended today I ask for a children egg on toast would happily paid extra for it but was told no i have a medical problem so can not eat much we ordered to drink my was wrong ask for it to be changed then was shout at and told to leave i expanded i had a medical problem and was told i should have just told her .then the manager shout just get out and don't come back well I have never felt so upset in a cafe when into a much nicer cafe and had our lunch leave this place alone

We received a wonderful warm welcome,, The service was excellent nothing was too much trouble, The food was excellent, we were a party of 10 so it is not easy to serve everyone at the same time. However our food was brought out quickly and piping hot, Lovely food and desert. Highly recommend.

A friend and I met up here lunch here recently. Neither of us had been for a while and both of us were very impressed with the additions - extended car park and stunning conservatory. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Even though it was busy the service was great without being obtrusive. As always the food was of good quality and presentation excellent. Look forward to visiting again.

Had lunch today , no room in main building , but went across the yard to a separate room , fine no issues , but when entering the building people had got there coats on sitting at the tables , touched a radiator and it was cold , not a great start . Staff were obviously busy , waited twenty minutes for someone to come to us , we eventually got a beer and ordered food . Food came ( a festive burger) all good , really tasty , finished food , waited fifteen minutes thought someone would come to offer another drink or a desert , or even pay the bill , we eventually got up and paid the bill at the bar . The least I would expect when paying top end money for lunch , would be some decent service and to be warm . Would not stop me going again food was fine .

Very friendly staff, that one with the blonde highlights in particular, had a lovely chat with us and made the experience very relaxing

The food was delicious and good value the staff were very friendly and helpful the only criticism I have is the food took a little bit it just shows it’s fresh the fish was amazing there was so much I couldn’t finish it

Visited the Mere Inn the weekend before Christmas, customer service was second to none, shout out to Charlie and the team for making my dads night on his 70th birthday!

Arrived, booked, early on a Saturday evening and were promptly seated and efficiently provided with menus. Drinks came and we ordered our main meals, scampi and jerk chicken. This is where it went wrong. No more than 10 minutes later the food arrived! We both knew this was not freshly cooked food. The scampi was presented ok (but then how could you not?) but 'a large'..? Questionable. The chicken however had been piled on the plate with the chips,swimming in its sauce,and a 'rubberised' 1/2 corn on the cob. One mouthful was enough. Microwaved chicken of questionable date is not very pleasant no matter the strength of the coating. The lovely young lady serving recognised something was amiss and offered an alternative. When I said no, the other equally pleasant server lady suggested two free desserts. These were also refused. Yes, the chicken was comped, but... ... and the lady taking payment was lacking customer service skills. Shame. Could be nice, but it isn't.

Food was delivered quickly and well presented; very tasty. Karen, our server, was great - pleasant and very helpful. Recommend for a pleasant lunch.

First time visiting Miller & Carter, Crewe. Luiza was our waitress, she was so friendly, attentive and helpful. The food was amazing, the best steak we've ever had. Will definitely be going again. Thank you.

I have visited this pub in the past and really enjoyed it. However on this occasion not so much. I had the garlic mushrooms for starters and the rump steak for main course. Whilst I quite enjoyed the food, the rump steak was strangely thin and small and tasted a little strange, I have been visiting the toilet all afternoon. Perhaps this was just a one-off, but my stomach is usually very tough.

My daughter booked us a family Sunday treat. Food, service, price all spot on. Just under £20 for a delicious roast dinner. I had the three different meats. Lovely, lovely, lovely. Highly recommended

Best meal I’ve had in ages. Staff were helpful and friendly. Pub was busy but the food was superb. Would love to eat here again
