The lady who runs it was welcoming insightful and charming. She gets all her meat from the local butcher which is first class. She was passionate about food and her recommendations dovetailed beautifully. My sister ate the mushrooms on toast, which she gave me to try. The mushrooms were cooked to perfection and the sauce was a perfect blend of flavour and consistency. They were really good, the lady who sat next to us has been coming for years and also recommended them, it was easy to see why. I myself had the brie and bacon ciabatta with chutney. The chutney was cooked in a slightly curried sauce which was lovely. Although I would have liked a slightly sweeter sauce maybe blueberries to cut through the mild salt in the bacon and brie but it was excellent none the less. Three breakfasts and pot's of tea for £14 per person was incredible value. I finally remembered years ago taking my daughter here for her birthday lunch and she kept asking me to take her to the place with the train running overhead, I couldn't remember at the time but she'll be overjoyed to hear I've found it. Fantastico, grazie.

We go to the Courtyard cafe regularly. The team treat customers like family and are warm, friendly and welcoming. The pride that they take in the food, the service, the property and the relationship between themselves as a team and between the team and the customers shines through. Every single visit. The cafe offers value, freshly prepared food and a great atmosphere for brunch style celebrations; not formal but they still make occasions feel special. Off menu strange combination … sausages with marmalade for example, are taken in their stride and nothing is too much trouble.

I ordered the £14(!) Breakfast, alas I was greatly disappointed by the quality of sausage , which looked suspiciously cheap on arrival (i.e. a uniform/ mass produced look) and was proven to be on consumption, it was almost white inside it had so little meat content. The bacon was overcooked, and I had a salty aftertaste for an hour or so , which to me is a sign of cheap bacon. The mushrooms and vine tomatoes were very nice. The poached egg had uncooked white which is off putting to me and I didn't eat it.

Lovely friendly welcome and service. Only stopped for afternoon cake and coffee after looking around central Knutsford for a "touch of class" catering. Undoubtedly, we found the best popular location hidden off King Street in a courtyard via alleyway entrance. Loved the decoration as well as delicious food and in particular the miniature train circuling the dining room at ceiling level. The change of business has not affected the gallery of pics, but loss of museum pieces has increased use of guest space beneficially.

Since new management in 2022, this lovely little hideaway in the centre of Knutsford serving healthy and freshly prepared food has gone from strength to strength. The one thing sadly missing is the outdoor tables and chairs which seems without purpose to have been removed by the landlord. I'm sure many other loyal customers like me, especially those with dogs, misses the outdoor dining experience in the warmer months, although understand that tables and chairs are sometimes still provided. Does anyone knows the background to this...?

The courtyard cafe had such good reviews and was almost on our route so I called up to see if we could get a table. On our most recent visit we were disappointed to find all the penny farthing bikes had gone, and also the road signs in the courtyard. Amongst these was a sign that used to stand at Arclid crossroads, which is on my route to work, so every time I pass that area I was reminded of this café. Now it's gone, I'm reminded of a cafe that no longer exists. We had coffee, tea and croissants, which were still very nice and service was warm and friendly. Unfortunately, they now only take cashless payments, which I do not agree with. Keep cash alive! On the whole, it's no longer a place that stands out above other eateries, and we'll probably choose somewhere else on our next visit to Knutsford.

While out cycling with a friend, we ended up going through Knutsford, and it was time for our obligatory cafe stop. My friend had never been to the Penny Fathing Museum at the Courtyard Coffe House. We were very disappointed upon arrival to find they have removed all the Penny Farthings. While we were there, we thought we might as well stop for cakes and drinks. The staff were very friendly and we were shown to a table inside as they didn't have any tables outside. I ordered a slice of Pecan Pie, which was very nice. However, at £4.95 a little on the expensive side. I think the coffee I ordered came to £3.20 and although it was a good coffee, the size of the cup for £3.20 was way too small. I questioned a staff member about the size of the cup as to me it was a small cup. The response was that they only had one size. She did ask if I wanted another one. At £3.20, I respectfully declined. My friend ordered a scone with a cup of tea. The scone came with currents in. Unfortunately, he doesn't eat currents, and they didn't have any plain ones. There was no problem swoping the scone for a cake. So the bill came to £16.95. I don't know if this is a normal price for Knutsford Town Centre. It's certainly not the normal prices we pay when we visit the many cafes on our cycling days out. There were a few people having lunch, and to be honest, the food I saw looked very good. Before we left, I asked a member of staff if the Coffee House had changed ownership as the Penny Fathings had been removed. The response was that it hadn't just that the Penny Fathings had been gathering a lot of dust and bringing paint off the walls. The place does look a lot bright inside now. However, for me, it has lost that uniqueness it had, and as a result, I will not be visiting again or recommending the Courtyard Coffee House to my cycling friends anymore. If you do decide to visit, make sure you have a card with you as they do not accept cash payments.

I agreed to meet a friend for breakfast at the cafe, I was initially greeted with a curious look as if I should have booked, when seated I ordered a coffee whilst I was waiting for my friend I asked if they still stopped serving tea cakes at 11am and was told they didn’t have any as the van had broken down ! They do sell them at all supermarkets! I asked if they still did cinnamon toast , I was told no as no one asked for it so no , at this point I thought it would be better to go elsewhere as I was obviously annoying the one and only waitress by asking questions and also it was freezing even the waitress had a hoody and coat on ! We went to a cafe a couple of doors down which was amazing and knocked spots off The Courtyard cafe .

Wow! What a lovely little place. We stumbled across this almost by accident. It's down a little passage from the main street which opens up to a lovely courtyard. All the staff were amazing! Welcoming and really kind with quick service. We just had a quick coffee and cake and scone and they were delicious. Definitely worth a visit. We will visit again for lunch next time.

A pleasant place to have lunch but be aware it's better to book. We only just got a table and were told we could have it for only one hour. I enjoyed my apple spiced tea. My friends enjoyed their americanos with hot milk We had egg florentine ,Welsh rarebit with bacon and carrot and coriander soup. We were happy with our meals.

Excellent food and service. Sitting outside in the courtyard is very nice in warm weather. Inside is not dog friendly but is quirky and fun due to the many pennyfarthings hanging on the walls. Lovely cakes!

We enjoyed a delicious breakfast here yesterday. The service was excellent. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We saw the lunchtime menu 'Minted Welsh lamb casserole with winter vegetables' and decided to return a few hours later to sample it, I'm so glad we did, it was delicious, it melted in your mouth. Highly recommend a visit if you're in Knutsford.

The Yellow Broom is best described as a blend of pure elegance with a splash of sophistication. The setting is undeniably beautiful, complemented by a warm welcome from the staff, who are clearly well-trained in delivering exceptional silver service. The menu offers a well-balanced selection of cuisine, ensuring there's something to delight every palate. The presentation of the dishes was nothing short of exquisite, and the flavors were simply delightful. The staff were remarkably attentive without being intrusive, striking the perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism. The atmosphere and layout of the restaurant were both appealing and comfortable, enhancing the overall dining experience. The Yellow Broom is a truly first-class establishment that consistently maintains high standards. I highly recommend a visit—you will not be disappointed.
