I used to go into Nosh and Breks regularly for lunch - their menu was always extensive, the food fresh and nicely cooked. Sadly, it's been a couple of years since I visited so I went in yesterday for something to eat and a cuppa. The place had changed around. Most of the room in the cafe is now taken up by the serving and food-prep area. The menu has also been drastically reduced. I went in at 1pm yesterday and ordered a custom sandwich - they refused to make it for me as they said they were closing. Closing? At 1pm? It's still lunchtime, even on a Saturday! I was forced to change my food choice and ordered a Cumberland sausage bap, which was always my go-to snack whenever I used to visit back in the day, and I also had a latte from their machine. The bap was fresh, but the sausages were mass-produced and didn't resemble in any way, shape, form or taste, a cumberland sausage. What I got on my bap was closer to a sausage you would get from a chip shop. And the coffee was absolutely vile. It was mostly a cup of hot water but the coffee tasted so repugnant I had to throw it away. Based on this visit, I won't return to Nosh and Breks again. I gave them two stars because the bap was nice and the staff friendly. I only wish they would try to reach the same high standards when it comes to their food and drink.

Found this place on trip adviser not knowing the area, it is very popular with locals getting takeaway breakfasts but does have 4 tables for sitting in. Good food at good prices.

We were told about this place from a work colleague who's from Macclesfield. He said it was very popular with the locals and when we went we weren't disappointed. It's quite small with only three tables and a bench for individuals to sit at. It's pretty traditional breakfast (don't expect Museli & Granary toast!) but great value. A large fry with 4 pieces of toast, egg, mushrooms, black pudding, hash browns, bacon, sausages, baked beans and tomatoes all for £4.75! They also do burgers etc for lunch. Closes at 2pm M-F and 12 at weekends

It was late in the afternoon so it was no surprise to see some of the items were sold out. However the owner ensured that our bellies were more than full before we left. The Full Breakfast is a gorgeous plate-load of food. My partner had their speciality hand cut chips. No bulk buy junk here!

My wife at I used Macclesfield as a central base to various NT properties and the peak district. We went to Nosh and Brek twice, it's a down to earth transport café which serves basic food for mainly working men who want a good sandwich and or breakfast. I'm no small eater and the full English beat me, the next day I just had a bacon bap. We had a Turkey, bacon, stuffing and cranberry sauce Vienna (a large roll) as a take away, it was big enough for two of us and was really good. I forget the actual price but it was very reasonable. If I'm ever in the area again and want a sandwich or breakfast, I'd certainly make a detour.

Along with my workmates I have been a regular customer of Nosh and Breks for 4 years and can honestly say I have never been disappointed. Trying to be healthy my "usual" lunch is a salad muffin and it is always a very fresh and full sandwich which is well worth the money. When I am very hungry I have a breakfast club sandwich which is very filling and I would certainly recommend it for a hearty appetite!I frequently travel the UK on business and have had many sad excuses for sandwiches and will always return to this café for the best I have found anywhere. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is always jovial and relaxed. If you want a good meal at a good price by friendly staff you will not go wrong here. One reviewer commented on poor service and selection and I can only presume he was in a very bad mood. They close at 2pm so the selection would be reduced close to that time (as in every establishment 30 minute from closing) but I have been late myself and popped in just a few minutes before closing time and still been offered the best they could rustle up just because they didn't want to leave me hungry! To me this is very excellent service.

Called in this place after a hard mornings work looking for a hearty meal.I was told that 95% of the menu of off limits as "they have been open since 7am and lunch has finished really!" ...it was 13:30 !!! The charm offensive of this place is second only to the Nazi concentration camps!Food what there was left in the warmer at the front, looked dried up and burnt and I wasn't offered anything else as "Everything was turned off!" AVOID !!!

Was looking forward to my veggie breakfast here for my first time. However hash browns were soggy and not crispy,I suspect they were warmed up in warm cooking oil.Tomatoes were far too sweet and probably tinned variety.Price great and more than enough to eat, friendly staff.Get the hash browns right and tomatoes right would definitely earn this place a place in my heart for future visits and recommendations ..cheapest place in town

Nosh & Breks is an unimposing little breakfast cafe that you might miss on your way past. But they serve the best range of full breakfasts in town. Everything is freshly cooked, and the staff seem to be permanently busy making up takeaway breakfasts and lunches. We had three terrific full breakfasts, and the value was unbeatable. Highly recommended.

The Yellow Broom is best described as a blend of pure elegance with a splash of sophistication. The setting is undeniably beautiful, complemented by a warm welcome from the staff, who are clearly well-trained in delivering exceptional silver service. The menu offers a well-balanced selection of cuisine, ensuring there's something to delight every palate. The presentation of the dishes was nothing short of exquisite, and the flavors were simply delightful. The staff were remarkably attentive without being intrusive, striking the perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism. The atmosphere and layout of the restaurant were both appealing and comfortable, enhancing the overall dining experience. The Yellow Broom is a truly first-class establishment that consistently maintains high standards. I highly recommend a visit—you will not be disappointed.

The lady who runs it was welcoming insightful and charming. She gets all her meat from the local butcher which is first class. She was passionate about food and her recommendations dovetailed beautifully. My sister ate the mushrooms on toast, which she gave me to try. The mushrooms were cooked to perfection and the sauce was a perfect blend of flavour and consistency. They were really good, the lady who sat next to us has been coming for years and also recommended them, it was easy to see why. I myself had the brie and bacon ciabatta with chutney. The chutney was cooked in a slightly curried sauce which was lovely. Although I would have liked a slightly sweeter sauce maybe blueberries to cut through the mild salt in the bacon and brie but it was excellent none the less. Three breakfasts and pot's of tea for £14 per person was incredible value. I finally remembered years ago taking my daughter here for her birthday lunch and she kept asking me to take her to the place with the train running overhead, I couldn't remember at the time but she'll be overjoyed to hear I've found it. Fantastico, grazie.
