Last evening I asked for any gluten free drinks as I am coeliac 2 managers had no idea what was gluten containing drinks Not one member of staff had any idea and I was told I could drink any wine or spirit which is not the case Very rude and dismissive in front of other customers, unprofessional and ignorant

We were a group of four and attended for Sunday lunch. The welcome could not have been warmer and we were quickly guided to our table. The staff are lovely. We were positioned by a window and we were so very cold, so much so we all ordered soup. One of the group commented on the temperature of the room and the lovely young server said "oh we don't notice, we are rushing around all the time." I had the french onion soup and when I peeled back the soggy layer of bread was hit with what I can only describe as a a stodgy solid lump of sliced cooked onion. It was luke warm and I had to use a knife and fork to eat it. There was practically no stock at all and was flavourless. We all opted for the roast and again, the meat was luke warm, presented on its owm on a cold plate. The vegetables were presented separately and they too were cold and being honest the portions were very small. We were so cold, we ate quickly and decided not to linger for desserts or coffees - we were all keen to get home. One friend was actually shivering. Not the best experience at all. Eating out is just so expensive now and getting a Sunday roast spot on should really not be that hard - I do it every week and I'm no chef! Would I visit again - probably not! Sorry, we try to keep business local as much as possible but we have to justify the cost, especially when we can do better at home.

Stepping into a beautiful historic building, we were greeted right away which is excellent being that it was a Saturday night and we were given an excellent table. The place is immaculate. Received the best customer service received in any restaurant visited all year. The staff here are a credit to your organisation and recognition is well deserved. Enjoyed the food. Look forward to visiting again due to the attentive customer service and great dining experience. Recommend

Disappointing food on this visit. Have been several times in the past and found the place to be busy with quality food. The menu seemed different too, more choice, but this might be part of its downfall. On this visit, some of the dishes lacked any inspiration and were not well presented. Service also somewhat lacking, even though it wasn’t at all busy. Not sure if the chef or owners have changed but our group certainly won’t be revisiting in the near future. For the price you pay there’s definitely better places around.

Beautiful Sunday lunch with the family. Great food and service and amazing cocktails. The best Negroni I've ever had (even better than in Italy!). Tried an excellent Carajillio as well (like a super Espresso Martini). Yum! Matteo is an amazing mixologist and friendly bartender and the staff are lovely too.

We came here recently for my partners birthday meal, and whilst the service was fantastic and the food looked the part, the tastes and textures weren't there, and we were left underwhelmed. First off need to mention the staff are extremely friendly, attentive, and hard working. For food, there were two menus to choose from, the main menu and the fixed price menu (3 courses for £30 or 2 for £25) , although the fixed price menu we had to ask to see. Both my stepdaughters went for the fixed price menu, and whilst there were some issues, it was definitely better food and better value than the food my partner and I got from the main menu. I went for the salted cod to start. It was OK, the pastry was nice and flakey, and the cheese packed good flavours. However, it needed more of the cheese and more from the cod, too. My partner had the tuna tartare, which was pleasant but lacked depth of flavour. My stepdaughters went for the croquetas and the calamari. The calamari was nice, although so overpowered by the aioli sauce. The croquetas were lovely and smooth in the middle, but the outsides weren't crisp and were actually quite soggy. The red pepper sauce was exceptional, though, 5 stars for that. For mains, I went for the lamb. The meat was cooked very well, and had a really lovely lamb flavour. The mushrooms were extremely bland, and the polenta wobbled like jelly, had a grainy texture, and hardly any flavour. I couldn't taste any hazelnuts from the sauce either. My partner went for the whole lobster. She was very disappointed with it. Whilst it was cooked well, it didn't have that lovely sweetness you get from fresh lobster. The accompanying roast potatoes weren't roasted and were huge big boiled bland potatoes. The girls went for spaghetti and the chicken. The spaghetti was nice on first bite, but the buratta cream ended up giving the whole dish a creamy bland flavour. The chicken was cooked very well and had good flavours to it. The accompanying mushrooms were bland, though, and the potatoes were just OK. We provided feedback after the starters, although didn't complain. However, after the mains, we did raise that we really weren't happy. The staff were very apologetic and offered money off the bill and free desserts. We declined the desserts but accepted the money off, which was very kind of them. However, even with money off, the bill was still a high one at almost £200. I realise one plate was lobster, but almost £200 for 4 two course meals is still expensive. Add the fact the experience spoiled the evening, means I can't give higher than 3 stars. I don't think we will be heading back either, as there is better food to be had at a lot better price.

The only saving grace is that i have seen photos on other reviews since this visit which look like the food normally looks (and i really hope its back to normal) but we went (4 people) on 23rd september. Its a regular place for us, we love it, and its been our go to place for nearly 2 years. This time was after an unusual amount of time for us not going (3 months) and was really pleased to see the same faces running the place even though its been on the market, i was glad it hadn't been sold......however, the food would suggest it has been and the chef had gone because it was really not very good, it wasnt horrible but frankly it wasnt good, it was still the same prices (my bill was north of £250 for 4 people)but it was nowhere near its normal excellent standards and for sure it was a different chef, the plates were dressed like an enthusiastic greek taverna chef would do them, the produce was good quality but the cooking wasnt. the restaurant was almost empty and it was a saturday evening?? i really hope we were unlucky and maybe the chef was on holiday as was so so reliably great before, i wouldn't go again if this is now the offering, fingers cross it was just bad luck!

If I could give more than 5 star's I would, excellent service, excellent food, the whole experience was amazing. From when we arrived,being shown to our table, nothing was rushed, starter's,main, and dessert, we had such a brilliant night, I can't thank you enough for making it so special for my husband's 60th birthday, would recommend this place, you will not be disappointed, we will be back, some photos so you can see how lovely the meals were.

New Menu , New Chef , 5 Star .! A really interesting new selection to choose from and was every bit of what you would expect from this Restaurant. I had Ham croquettes served with Red Pepper and Burrata . So yummy , I woofed it down before thinking of a picture. Was cooked to Spanish perfection , if you know the difference. Mains was Cod , in a Mussel Sauce . The picture speaks for itself. Divine. The chips . Ive got to mention these as they were cooked properly and perfect. . I only know one other place in UK that can produce chips like this. For desert, I opted for Ice Cream in ' Marmalade flavour! Now that was different and very very nice too.. Can highly reccomend .

Great food, we had Sunday lunch. It was served friendly and professionally by the staff who were also very attentive. We sat outside in the garden, plenty of parasols and shade under the trees, if required. Very relaxing and peaceful. Excellent- we would happy recommend and come again. Thank you CM

We booked Churches for our post wedding day party. The communication from Jo in the lead up was great and on the day Sophia was our point of contact, she was exceptional and really went above and beyond for us, she's definitely a credit to the Churches team. It rained at the time of our BBQ so all was changed to inside and then when the weather brightened up, it was seamlessly moved to outside. The food that we had was absolutely amazing and all the guests commented on how great this was. We would definitely recommend Churches for anyone looking to hold their event there.

Birthday lunch and first time visit on the recommendation of friends. Friendly welcome and impressive inside as you might expect from the outside. Service was excellent. Plenty of choice, a mixture of traditional dishes and some more exciting options. We enjoyed all the starters and mains, everything was cooked perfectly. Reasonable prices for the quality of the food. I will very much look forward to returning here.

We met here for afternoon tea. We had the place to ourselves for most of the time, which was a shame really. The age and history of the place is clear to see and enjoy. The tea was lovely and reasonably priced.

We went for an impromptu lunch and luckily they were able to accommodate. The staff were very accommodating and the service was excellent throughout. I went for Nantwich Blue cheese salad and the seasonal vegetable risotto. The presentation and flavours were on point. Initially I did think the serving for the risotto was small, but the bowl was deceptive and I was more than satisfied with the portion. Considering the beautiful historic setting, I did feel the dining room we were in was a little soleless, that's my only criticism and it is minor, I'd definitely return again in the future

Brunch menu changed without it being updated on their website it used to be a set meal with drinks option and now is just lunch menu wirh drinks option, which means it works out a lot more expensive However the food is amazing Drinks are a little slow and definitely not enough choices of spirits it’s all gin And only 2 cocktails which never change which again is disappointing

Beyond terrible management. The staff looked absolutely miserable, all bar our waitress who read the situation and was incredibly sympathetic. We were met by a slender, short, dark haired woman who’s attitude was, best described as, PUTRID. This dinner was booked for my mothers birthday; the attendees included two pensioners and a heavily pregnant lady. As we all know, the weather has been absolutely gorgeous lately, almost 30 degrees Celsius. Where were we sat? Against a large radiator. We were informed that the thermostat had broken, and we could either sit outside in the raging sunshine, or in the ‘other room’ (a smaller lounge, equipped with two large radiators and closed windows). We endured dinner as quick as we could, then fled to the garden afterwards. The garden, by the way, was empty and the speakers were booming with something that I’d describe as ‘Love Island’ music. As expected, we had to turn this down. The only table in the corner of the garden that was occupied actually clapped when we did this! This was absolutely not what we expected, having had a splendid 3 course meal in December. It is evident from my treacherous review that this party of 7 will not be returning to Churche’s Mansion, or recommending the restaurant to absolutely anyone. We’ll actually be spreading the word NOT to come. The food might be decent, but expect hateful, snappy, aggressive management, tiny portions, and stuffy sweat-box dining areas with a maximum of two open windows and just about enough oxygen to keep you awake. Avoid, unless you want heatstroke.

Menu had just changed and didn't seem quite as good, however the food was lovely and we were offered some of the main menu as the set meal options were limited. Staff helpful and owners more accommodating than the chef when asking for alternatives. Went in the big room initially but very hot and noisy, we were happier in the smaller room. Overall a pleasant couple of hours and we will probably return.

The Mansion and the team there in never stop never stopping at achieving excellence in all aspects of their business. Fine dining at an unbelievable price and constant, but not overbearing, attention from the servers makes the whole experience feel welcoming and personal but with a heavy professional accent. 50th Celebration and as there were 9 in the group we were asked to pre-order our menu online beforehand. Besides the two childrens menus none of us actually received the main dish we pre-ordered . Duck,Ham Hock and Toulouse sausage in a white bean cassoulet turned out to be a small duck leg perched on red cabbage and curley kale with a small root vegetable for example. Very disappointing. We were charged for 2 adult meals instead of 2 childrens menus and had to correct this , we were also charged for a dessert that wasn't ordered and again had to be taken off the final bill . By way of apology we were given a bottle of house prosecco and free tea and coffee . Its a shame as the food and service was generally good but attention to detail , portion size and general customer care were left somewhat lacking for a restaurant that advertises itself as a high end establishment.

The main course didnt come with anything.. you had to purchase potatoes and vegetables as extras !! plus they arrived after most of us had finished eating.. luckily the company I was with made up for the poor food experience ( the food was nicely cooked but the service let it down)

Me and my partner enjoyed a 2 hour slot of bottomless brunch today. The pork belly we ordered was the best I've tasted. Perfect cut of pork, we were both in our element. Couldn't fault the service, venue, surroundings. 5 stars from both of us. See you again soon 👍🏼
