Gorgeous time in the sun at the beer garden. Delicious food. Highly recommend the cheese, chicken and leek pie. Great customer service from Helen. Lovely lady with lovely chat.

Helens service was excellent. She was very attentive and friendly. Made the experience enjoyable. The food was served very quickly and can highly recommend.

We live locally to this pub and come here often. We are always greeted with a warm welcome and Helen makes such a fuss of our 3 kids! They love her! Menu is really varied, atmosphere is really laid back and we are always made to feel really at home. Nothing is too much trouble. Thanks guys… especially Helen who always makes it wonderful for us!

The booking was in error and I arrived the day after. Instead of letting me off I had to pay for another night. I checked with the cleaning staff and I saw the room list….. they were not fully booked the night before. When I asked the manager she said they were fully booked. I saw what I saw. The heater in the room didn’t work and it was freezing. My allocation of coffee in the room was two sachets. I asked for eggs fried on both sides at breakfast ….. surely not a big deal. I received them runny and fried on one side. I sent them back and the cook refused to flip them!!! The rooms were very average. I travel a lot and have many reviews. You will see that I am generally always happy. This has created ill will and I will not be returning. I have stayed at the Alderley Edge Hotel several times. About the same price and a LOT better. Everything about the de trafford seems cheap and scant. The front bar is very nice but accommodation wise most places would be better. They made £120 for nothing… that’s the way the world is. Several times I have missed a booking at other hotels and they moved it. I won’t be using booking.com anymore either. They have screwed up my bookings before. And either two people involved one just blames the other. Anyway I have a YouTube channel and people seem to enjoy my troubles more than my successes…. So they should find this amusing….. especially the eggs. The English most times refuse to do it…. It’s weird!! They will flip them in Wales!!

We've just had a lovely Sunday dinner. Me and my wife had three courses. All the food was delicious and the service was great. The price for the food was brilliant.

I had a fantastic experience at the De Trafford, stopped in for some food and drinks which are reasonably priced and the meals were very tasty with decent portion sizes. The bar staff are fantastically friendly with Helen in particular standing out making it a pleasant experience, and the dogs we had were not only welcomed but encouraged and appreciated by interactions from the staff team. I would definitely come here again!

Night out with friends at the De Traff and we were lucky enough to be looked after by the amazing Helen and Ryan. Fabulous welcome, great food and always there to make sure we were being looked after. Greene King should be very proud of both of them.

We were booked in by our potential company to complete our 3 day training course. We have been treat with nothing but kindness and 100% helpfulness by Sarah Helen , they couldn't do enough for us and were very interested in why we were there . They both advised me on my meals as I'm GF and also a fussy eater . I can't praise them enough.

Sunday roast was delicious! One of the best I’ve had in ages, especially the gravy and cauliflower cheese. Helen was amazing at taking care of us. Would 100% recommend.

We have stayed over here about 4 times now, its a great place. Staff are friendly, nice cosy bar and restaurant area. Breakfast was very nice. The rooms are priced well, and in good walking distance to local bars and restaurants. We will be staying again in the near future

We stopped the night in a double room. My son and his partner also stopped in the room opposite. Given the hotels location, my expectation of a decent standard of room was quite high. I was quite shocked and somewhat disappointed as my eyes were drawn to the obviously neglected fixtures. The toilet seat was very loose as was the bath hand grab rail. The door covering in the bathroom was jus awful, peeling off away from the door at the bottom. The bed, whilst serviceable, could definitely benefit from a replacement mattress. The first impression as we drove in to the carpark was great and the reception area was really nice. staff were faultless. From the moment we entered, The young lady on reception was just lovely, from the moment we entered we were made to feel welcome. In the morning, again we were made to feel welcome and the chap in the dining room was extremely helpful and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. Overall, what could have been an amazing stay only rates an average "Hhmm it was okay" rather than the big thumbs up that I would have expected to be giving you.

We did not stay overnight, we went to the pub for breakfast with family and we had a warm welcome and efficient service. However, I would not return because although the food was good, I felt that the small portions did not give value for money. The other people in our party were satisfied with their breakfasts, but I ordered the smashed avocado on sourdough with poached eggs extra, which was £10.50 in total and so I was dismayed to receive a fraction of a piece of toast topped with avocado, alongside the two eggs and half a grilled tomato. As I said, the food itself was tasty but I felt hungry afterwards and subsequently quite disappointed. I don’t like leaving a bad review but would like you to know so you can adjust the portion size of this item to avoid disappointment for customers in the future.

An overnight stay breakfast included. An amazing venue. Lady on reception was lovely really helpful. We arrive early before 14.00 hrs book in. Our room was all ready. Room was spotlessly clean, a queen size bed ( bonus ) tea, coffee making facilities with biscuits ( nice touch ) had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was fantastic. Everything you could want croissants, cereal, toast etc. Full English was superb. Great quality breakfast faultless ( compliments to the chef ) Will definitely be staying again

Accommodation good. Room clean, tidy and a nice room. Even though we were told the room was due for refurbishment when we asked for an extension to be able to charge our phones. Food was good. The only thing we felt let it down was the Yorkshire pudding with the roast, it was very dry All staff were excellent, attentive and very approachable

Stayed 3 nights, hotel great value and staff excellent and friendly. Location is perfect. Food, didn't realise this was a "Chef & Brewer", dined previously at the Livingston restaurant outside Edinburgh. Unfortunately I chose the Steak and mushroom pie, well sorry to say exactly the same comments as then. Pie looks great but it did contain only 1 piece of meat (1.5 cm.) & 1 mushroom. Bring the food up to the standard of the hotel please

Went on Saturday 14th September for a meal with another couple. Table 33 And where greated by Helen ( Lady H ) who looked after us brilliantly. She was very attentive to my wife who is severely sight impaired and nothing was to much trouble. Two of us had the pork belly one salmon Wellington and one had chicken. All very well presented and cooked well. Would we go again? Of course we will it's our favourite eating place in the town.

I stayed at this lovely spot for two nights and didn’t want to leave. So quaint and beds very comfy. Staff were so helpful and kind. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Alderley. Can’t wait to go back. The rooms are clean. The rooms are dated. The bed is comfy. There are limited plug sockets within the room. The breakfast is really tasty!

Great stop over with food before flying from Manchester. We have stayed several times. The staff are all amazing and Helen who served us in the restaurant is extremely helpful and welcoming. Rooms are clean, bed comfortable and ideal for a relaxing night before a flight. Car park is free and food in restaurant lovely and reasonably priced. It is 7 ish miles from the airport in the morning and an easy route. We will be back

I called in here with my mum over a month ago and meant to write a review back then but here it is.We were greeted by a lovely lady when we entered ,so down to earth and very helpful,she made us feel at ease straight away.We had lunch ,which was delightful and great value for money but I think it was the staff that made this place memorable for us.The lady behind the bar was a credit to this establishment,whether she was just part of the hospitality team or the owner,( Blonde ,slim ,middle aged lady)she made our stay extremely enjoyable.We will definitely be back.

The review refers only to the restaurant. We don't know the hotel. The pub's premises are attractive and sparkling clean, the waitresses are young and obviously somewhat inexperienced, but very friendly. So there is no criticism here. However, the food - and that's what matters in a restaurant - is a medium disaster: we had different dishes, all unseasoned and bland, nothing tasted right, the meat overall was dry and tough. The previous reviews regarding the food are incomprehensible against this background. It's a shame, the location can certainly do a lot more.

The de Trafford Arms is 15 mins from Manchester Airport, right on Alderley Edge high street. The rooms are comfortable and lack nothing. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is amazing with gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. There’s no better place to start your holiday! And don’t forget to do the charity shops 😉

We had walked up to the Edge to view Manchester, it was a lovely sunny day so we stopped off here to sit and relax outside and have a drink after our decent. Really welcoming bar staff, clean tables and great atmosphere. Good selection of drinks and everyone was kind to my grandson. Never seen so many luxury cars passing on the road the pub overlooks, but seems to be a place where enthusiasts parade!

This is the second time we have visited and this was unintentional - we saw the place, thought it looked good and only realised we had been before when we recognised the car park. We were very pleased though, as we remembered it was good and the lovely Helen who had served us....and there she was, smiley and helpful just as before. This time we had 3 different meals from the weekly menu and they were unusual, all beautifully served on the plate and very good eating. Slightly expensive maybe ( average £16.99 a plate) but not much above the standard price found in most pubs now. Pleasant setting and well attended for a Monday lunchtime. Thanks again Helen and chef.

£100 fine for parking in car park when we went for a drink. None of the staff said anything didn’t see sign as was dark. Absolute disgrace

Positives; The staff are excellent. Helen, Lucy and Stephen were all cheerful, helpful and efficient. They did all they could to make our stay enjoyable. Negatives; Room 1 was tired and dated, in need of total redecoration. The sockets over the desk are badly placed (this has been mentioned in previous reviews) The lift was not working. The window didn’t shut properly causing noise and a draught. It was impossible to close the door quietly, despite signs asking for consideration to be shown to other guests.
