Came for Mums birthday on Thursday lunchtime, had phoned and booked ahead which was a good job as restaurant was full, really good atmosphere, staff were welcoming and very knowledgeable about the food. All meals were lovely and served quickly . Overall a charming restaurant, with wonderful staff and a great atmosphere - thank you

Genuinely one of the nicest breakfasts I've had in a long time. I had the brink veggie brekkie which was a decent portion, hot, two good bits of halloumi and lots of toast. My partner had the big brink brekkie which had beautiful crispy bacon, two high quality sausages and was a nice big portion. The food was amazing and affordable, the staff there are so friendly and your money is going towards a fantastic cause and space!!

Fantastic food and wonderful staff. Came in today with my family and ordered chicken and chips for 3 of us and cheese and onion patty and I can't believe how much you got and how tasty it was. Staff super friendly and attentive and just a great chippy

On Brook street there's a brilliant local pub thats called Ye Olde Cottage Inn that offer a well priced range of drink's and it was an excellent pub to visit as is this area.Ye Olde Cottage Inn has a traditional pub look and feel with nice fixtures and features and lots of good seating options. It has a bagatelle table and I think a dart's board and when we visited here it was very busy. This is what pub's should look like and you can see why its such a popular pub.On our visit we had a few cask ales as this pub offers excellent cask beers. When we visited here we had a few pints of beers from the Otters brewery which where perfectly served and were well priced. Its a superb local pub'one of the best local pubs we went to in Chester and its a place well worth visiting.(This is my second review of Ye Olde Cottage Inn). Opening Hours. Monday-Friday-16.00-23.00. Saturday-14.00-23.00. Sunday-16.00-23.00.

We’ve had many meals at the Highland Drove but had never been for brunch so wanted to give it a go! It was well worth it! There was a lovely atmosphere (as there always is) and it was the perfect way to start 2025. We started with great Bloody Mary’s then both had the chicken gyros. Delicious and just the right size for us with a cracking, homemade sauce. They always do fresh, home cooked food so well. It’s such a great local, friendly village pub and we’ve recommended it to so many people! Thanks for a wonderful start to the year!

Great little restaurant/bar. Nice vibe, lovely staff and great food. Came twice in 3 weeks and plan to return again. However have had to mark down a bit as they add additional 'gratuity' to the bill as standard. Practices like this, as a tax payer, in the UK (a country with National Living Wage) boil my p**s. Any pricing within the menu should be inclusive of paying the waiting-on (and other) staff in the form of wages. Anything I choose to give on top of that in my own business and should remain a completely separate matter from the bill given to me by the restaurant. I actually am a pretty good cash tipper when I've received a great experience. But that should be MY prerogative and MY choice. The audacity to automatically apply this to a bill (especially outside of London), putting the onus on the customer to ask for it to be removed, is pretty poor form. Places like this capitalise on the fact most people won't ask for it to be removed, in fear of looking like a tight ar**e. It's basically a shoddy practice that is both a financial and kindness tax. Restaurants need to stop doing this. As I intend to return again, I will raise this with Management next time. And I will generously tip my server, personally, if I choose to (which I likely will going on last two experiences which were great and I will not blame the staff for a poor Management decision). Staff - keep up the great work. Thank you for two great meals. Management - read this and take action. We're not in the USA.
