Lovely pub, friendly, kind and helpful staff. The comfy area was great to get a bit of work done while having a coffee. The lunch was really good, I'm still full! I'll be back!

Lovely food. Friendly staff. Service a little slow but in no way detracted from the meal.

Lovely little pub we booked for husbands birthday. Menu read good however some options weren't available as the menu was changing. Staff were pleasant and attentive. Food quality was good. Bit of a different swing on a sundae from the dessert menu but we went with it.

Last visited February 2024. I was driving from Manchester to Edinburgh, so I thought I'd stop for a quick lunch. Service was quick and so was the food. Would have loved to try a pint but had a drive ahead of me. Nice meal. Place was a little off track but guess that was what I was looking for.

Nice cosy pub with friendly staff food was mediocre

Very disappointing Sunday Lunch. Poor selection of veg with what seemed like a day old reheated Yorkshire pudding. Worst of all it was served cold! Little wonder the place was quiet. Certainly very poor value at £22 for main course

Real wood fire, beautiful seasonal food and a gorgeous setting. The gnocchi was delicious!

For our anniversary we wanted to go somewhere a bit special so we chose the Queens. We had a lovely meal and the service was very good. Will definitely recommend and thank you so much

A great pint of Guinness Well worth the 10 minutes walk from Wetheral train station

The Inn took our 20 person booking and we were allocated the room upstairs which was perfect for our needs. Staff were courteous, helpful and efficient and the food was excellent. Feedback from pur party was excellent and would certainly book again.

The food here is gorgeous and the manager is so friendly. The young female staff who served us wasn't sure on vegan menu or not much enthusiasm either towards serving. I imagine this is their first job. The food was absolutely gorgeous though.

Lovely, genuine English pub in an idyllic setting. We ate outside beside a beautiful weeping willow and a quaint village green. The food was traditional in style but definitely superior in quality. Just what we needed on our journey home.

I had the fish and chips yesterday and in my opinion it was the worst fish & chips I had for a very long time and I am 70 years old!

Cosy old pub and staff were friendly. Unfortunately the food was terrible. Both the risotto and pie were like a cheap packet microwave meals, especially dissapoiting given the price of these dishes.

Nice little country pub/restaurant near Carlisle. Friendly welcome and an excellent lunch beside an a nice open fire. Locally brewed ales on tap and more available in bottles.

Love this place! I visit whenever in the area and it always delivers great, friendly service and tasty food! Very much recommend the vegetarian homity pie and Corby ale. Beautiful old building, with atmospheric fireplaces and settings. The toilets are clean and there's customer free parking. Gem of a country inn. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Brilliant Christmas morning with free nibbles and a great welcome.

Great atmosphere on Christmas morning, lots of locals in enjoying drinks and nibbles. Comfortable lounge area with sofas and log burning stove.

The food at this village pub is wonderful. I had the evening special, venison tenderloin with a pheasant hot pot (pic included). As you can probably guess, this is more of a "high end" establishment. Needless to say, it was absolutely delicious. Sticky Toffee Pudding was the dessert and it also did not disappoint. One word of caution, if you wish to take advantage of the dining facilities, it would be a good idea to reserve in advance.

What a fantastic pub for food and drinks, as soon as you walk in the sound and smell of the fire and a wonderful warm welcome from Robert and his staff make for a truly relaxing experience. The quality of food and service at The Queen are as good as you could find in the area and we arrived with two children under five and a dog, but none of this was any issue. Hard to beat I’d say 👍

Visited for a meal while we were staying locally and couldn't fault a thing. The food was absolutely amazing, perfectly sized portions, stunning flavour combinations and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend a visit.

A Sunday lunch that hit the mark. A selection of meals were available which provided ample choise on the day. All proved to be tasty dishes served in a leisurely manner allowing for a relaxing family meal.

A great find on a flying visit to meet relatives after our usual venues in nearby Wetheral couldn't accommodate us for lunch. Good food, service and ambiance. Will definitely return.

Portions very small. Menu needed to be clearer what was served with a vegan burger. Sadly we ate inside and there were lots of flies. It really impacted on eating as had to swipe a fly every few seconds. Serving staff really polite and helpful

This is a pub that has lost its character of being a pub. The clientele is from out of town and there is no local feel at all. It is a boutique place serving overpriced meals.

Lovely food and super drinks selection.

What a wonderful place! The really kind service with bread and a small plate as complimentary was amazing. There are some vegetarian options which are highly recommended. Unfortunately we do not live nearby, otherwise we would come back very often.

A really lovely pub dining experience, with tables outside and in. Dog friendly for those with pets. The staff are friendly and polite, and the food and local beers are excellent. Toilet facilities clean and well maintained. An attractive mix of a traditional pub setting with a touch of modern luxury. Simply really pleasant. I'll be returning when I next visit the area.

Four of us ate here yesterday and it was Lovely. Nice Traditional Pub set in a Stunning Village, Great Food which was fresh and prepared well, all with Excellent Friendly Service. Really good range of Beers to , some of which come from the Brewery next door, which in itself is worth a visit. All in all we had a lovely lunch and will certainly return, thank you to all involved 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Not great, Ran out of diet coke Lemon in drink even though asked for none to be added Ages to take order My pie felt like it had microwaved as crust was rock hard Not asked if everything was OK Onions rings nearly raw inside Not asked if wanted anymore drinks Had to asked twice for the bill Had to take bill to the til as no-one came to take money Waitresses keep dropping cutlery so not very relaxing evening. In the end had to take bill to the ill to pay as noone came back

Eaten here a few times lately, and it is now established amongst my firm favourites. Corby ales, brewed across the road, are always spot on wherever I've tried them, and no exception here. Can't fault the food. People in our parties have probably tried everything on the menu by now, and I haven't heard a bad word. The current proprietors are getting it right. I hope they stick around.

Absolutely DELICIOUS food and great ambience. Thoroughly enjoyed our early evening meal and my cheese souffle starter was soooo good. We're back again on Thursday evening for more delicious offerings and the staff (especially our host Michael) were all super friendly and attentive even though the place was really busy (always a good sign). Of all the places we've dined (in our 7 day trip), this is our favourite. Try the cheese souffle starter, you won't be disappointed.
