They do a lovely breakfast and great staff. Tribute nights are great fun with the added bonus of fabulous food at a great price.

Nice afternoon tea with friends everything was fresh and plentiful only one criticism the sandwiches could have been cut smaller as they fell apart when you picked them up. They also have a singer on every Thursday afternoon which was very pleasant and added to the ambience will definitely return

A hidden gem. We went as a family of 3 & the food, atmosphere, location & staff were brilliant. Hot & hearty portions which were presented well. One of the female staff brought a Christmas colouring sheet over for our LG which I thought was nice. The Tutti Frutti gin was yummy too 👌 They have tribute nights too which we are very interested in Will definitely return. Lovely place.

Tiny Tim is a very, Very funny man/boy! Gave us a great show. We really enjoyed him. Their staff were Fab. Especially Gemma. She didn't have a second, absolutely run off her feet. It was their food that let them down. I had ONE single potatoe in my Stew! Not Good. You served very cold chilled cake under hot custard. Not Good. Not sure of your idea of Fruit Crumble but it didn't match with mine. Not Good!

Arrived for afternoon tea to celebrate my Granddaughters 10th birthday with 4 others but unfortunately, we were booked on the 18th December, oops I must have had a senior moment. So instead of turning us away, they made a space for us & made us very welcome. The kitchen had to arrange the afternoon teas which were delicious and good value. The girls changed their minds & had something hot from the menu but this didn't phase anyone. The staff member looking after us even found some balloons so we could take photos, such a thoughtful thing to do. All the staff were brilliant & made it a special afternoon for all of us, so thanks to all.

Only went in for coffee & cake. The coffee had been spilt down the cups, and there was no saucer.

Was at Cheshire oaks for a bit of xmas shopping and staying nearby we decided to book a table for 6. After a 15 min walk from hotel I was treated to one of the best starters ever (Black Pudding stack). All the main courses were superb and very generous portions. For the couple of hours we were in there the atmosphere, food and staff were amazing. Will deffo be back when in the area. When leaving we were shown a quicker way back to hotel.... 3 min walk🤦.

Had an unexpectedly great night. A Robbie Williams tribute act. He was amazing. I can recommend it to everybody. Food was top class. Service was excellent. Please try it for yourselves. Entertainment every Friday.

A little disappointed in the afternoon tea. The sandwiches had no butter on the bread which were like doorstops, not dainty at all. The sausage rolls, quiche and cakes tasted shop bought, but the wraps were nice and the scones were really lovely. I presumed that refills of tea and coffee would be included in the price but were not. However when I said this to the person serving us she included it in the price. Next time I will choose something from the lunch menu which is always lovely.

Asked the wife out for breakfast her choice of venue fantastic brekkie on a very wet windy day loverly inside great service clean tidy be loverly on a sunny day on waters edge .

Lovely eatery. We liked it so much we decided to make the effort to go wach month They are great for people with allergies and it was great to have options for pudding too (a rarity for many in our party.) Child friendly Dog friendly

They forgot the mushrooms on the breakfast but gave us a free coffee. The meal was good

Good food and nice surroundings, only slightly spoilt by not having the meal of my choice on the day I was there.

Called in to book the upstairs room for my mums 90th. John was brilliant. He couldn't have been more accommodating. Haven't rated the food as didn't eat, only had a coffee, but I did see some very nice looking breakfasts coming out to a group at another table. Will go back soon to eat.

Came here for a 3 course dinner and entertainment. The meal was average with replacement veg on the plate not mentioned. Part of the meal was cool. The singer was average I'm afraid.

We arrived late after service and they was more than happy to serve Food was great so was the staff Beautiful veiw aswel!

Really nice food, good deals, comfortable. Shame there is only 1 toilet but didn't cause me any problems. Drinks were a little pricy.

Waterfront location perfect in every way

Fantastic venue situated in a lovely and easily accessible location. We had my partner's 40th birthday party here and everyone was delighted with the place. Great food, a variety of drinks and superb friendly staff, would highly recommend.

Excellent venue, family run buisness with superb food and service in a great location down on the waterfront, Tribute nights are excellent.

Went there for lunch, which was very enjoyable and they couldn't do enough make your visit a pleasant experience. We all had a sandwich of some sort, which was served with chips and salad. The portion size was plentiful. The staff were very helpful and efficient and the location is lovely. We will definitely be back.

The food let it down for me shame as the place is great as are the staff .

Had cake and a drink, lovely gluten free carrot cake and the regular chocolate cake was said to be excellent.

Probably the best coffee I've had in ages. Great selection of gluten free food, properly handled by knowledgeable staff and a view onto the Manchester Ship Canal too. Fabulously friendly welcome, for the dog too. Still great coffe & cakes.

More cafe like than a restaurant, small portions and it was only later when we got home and checked the bill that we realised not only had we been charged for actual pints of lager instead of pints of shandy but there was also items on the bill which we hadn't had. I know we should have checked the bill on the premises but silly me for trusting the staff to give us the correct bill

Mum and I went for breakfast and it was fabulous. The food, service and atmosphere was like being on holiday, with table and chairs outside to enjoy the nice weather; inside was just as nice. The breakfast menu is extensive. I had egg Benedict, and mum the vegatarian breakfast , both had tea or coffee included in the price. Enjoyed it so much we booked for a lunch date. Can highly recommend

The meal was to die for . The heat outside did not help them. Stuff was melting on the plate afore you rec it . Staff very attentive. Time tween the main and dessert was near 20 mins . But the lady did say its the heat . So forgive will go again

Food is brilliant, small size dishes is more like full meal size. Can't complain with prices, atmosphere is more like your common food canteen. Overall good just needs a few improvements.

Nice pleasant staff firstly ,good menu choices,it wasn't expensive either for quality food ! I had a cow and chuck burger from the specials board and was cooked to perfection with chunky skin on chips cooked like my mum used to make in the old days ! Superb 👍

Just had a lovely Breakfast at the Port & Anchor. Great food, great staff situated in a lovely location.

Arrived late in the afternoon looking for something to eat. Lovely welcome and served with a delicious home cooked tagliatelle carbonara. It was so good that we decided that a glass of wine would not be uncalled for. Had hoped to return for breakfast the following day but, unfortunately, we had to set off back up the canal to Chester.

This place is a little gem. Amazing little place. Food is delicious, atmosphere, warm, staff can't do enough to help and get you what you want. Always go the extra mile. A must if you're staying in the holiday Inn or staying anywhere nearby.

This is one of our favourite places to eat and we have had over the last few years breakfast, lunch,dinner and really enjoyed a few of their tribute bands nights. Staff are so good and friendly great atmosphere there.

Port and Anchor by the Manchester canal water way on the Ellesmere Bank. Had pork roast, broccoli stems, and daulphenois potatoes . Apple crumble and custard. Cup Coffee.. meat tender and stems were crunch perfection. 2023, late April. 23GBP. 1 person. Seating in and outside. Disability accessible entrance. Parking. Bar.

I went to the Restaurant and booked a table for 5 people for the following day at 12 Noon. When I arrived I was asked how many in my party of which I said " I have a booking for a table if 5", the reply was "Ohh I have just given away your table", when I ask why the response was "when 6 people walked in I thought it was you". So I asked why didn't you ask had they booked and what their name was and the reply was I thought it was you. In the end she pulled some tables together and we all sat down for lunch. The point being if the restaurant had been very busy then the outcome could of been different. Food was very good.

Absolutely amazing, what a hidden gem. If you like quality home cooked food and very generous portions this is the place for you. Local IPA beers available and the wife said the wine was very good.

Gorgeous lunch menu not too big so chef can concentrate on the menu service fabby and generally since being taken over lovely warm welcoming atmosphere but the food was delicious well done team it was lovely truly

The food is very good, the service is even better. We had a problem with one dish and they dealt with it very professionally and in a relaxed, friendly manner. They also put two soft chairs together to make a "cot" for the sleeping baby at the next table. Would definitely recommend.

Went for Sunday lunch.. Was just like homemade.. No frozen stuff was all fresh and so tasty.. We had a section of different meats and vedgiterian everyone loved what they had... The staff and owners are very attentive would highly reccomend for Sunday dinner..

Sunday roast was out of this world...certainly attention to detail with seasoning...felt like I was in a Michelin star restaurant...certainly be booking again

One of the most welcoming and friendly places I’ve been for breakfast. The staff made me feel like I was dining in their home. The food was exactly how I ordered and it was made even better by taking in the stunning views that surrounded the venue. Would highly recommend!!

Attended for a wake, so a sad occasion. The food was delicious, plentiful and hot. I realise this was ordered however the service was wonderful. The staff were respectful, friendly and very efficient. Checking that all had a drink, clearing the tables, yet maintaining a discreet distance. It was perfectly fitting for the wake of the gentleman in question, but the venue is also perfectly sized for intimate gatherings. Would definately recommend.

Great little place to stop. Was a welcome break to the days trip. Chocolate cake is a winner with lovely coffee and friendly staff.
