Revolution in Cheshire West and Chester

I came here for an early evening meal, the place was quiet. It's nice to see the chef at work, from your table. There's a counter bell for when a order is ready; I suppose this can get a bit of annoying when it's packed. I decided to go for an 8oz steak, with rocket salad & frites; the peppercorn sauce was extra. I had it well done, it was just right; although there weren't many frites. So I decided to have a desert; a twist on the apple pie them, with an apple pie pancake. This came with icecream on top, and some kind of sweet sauce.

Great food ,shame it is closing down .

Disappointed that the bar snack sandwich menu was so limited. I asked if it was possible to have a cheese and tomato or salad sandwich but was told only from menu. OK- I asked for a packet of crisps and was informed they had run out. The staff were OK- apologetic. I think the bar snack menu could do with a review to cater better for vegetarians. The place itself is modern and has a good ambience.

All the draught beer was off taste wise, thankfully they replaced mine without any issues.

Been previously for afternoon tea which we loved but this time round was disappointing. Seemed smaller in portion and less aesthetically pleasing to eye. Lack of attention to detail to it. Wouldn't recommend now!!

Went for cocktail making class. Guy who done the class was superb. But food came out and burgers were not cooked properly. Waited almost an hour for more burgers. Then we were asked to leave the room 15 mins before our time was up. Very disappointing 😞

I had a private party at Revolution Chester for my 21st birthday in the cocktail bar and I cannot recommend this enough! It was organised by Sophie who was so accommodating with what I wanted and the end result was everything I asked for and more. The decorations were spot on, Sophie worked with the bar staff to create drinks that fit with my theme and the whole night was organised perfectly. All the staff were brilliant on the night which allowed for an even better experience and meant everything ran smoothly and according to plan. The shot limbo was one of the funniest things so I would recommend that too! Overall I had the best night for my 21st birthday and would recommend private hire at Revs to everyone.

We went for my friends hen do to have bottomless brunch. The food was delicious and the drinks were too. Staff were so attentive and when they didn’t think they had been attentive enough they added on a free hours worth of drinks for us (we had no complaints at all the staff approached us and said they thought they hadn’t given us enough attention!) great party atmosphere.

What a lovely time that was had when we popped into Revolutions Chester on a quiet Tuesday afternoon while in Chester celebrating a 60th birthday of one of our party. We were almost treated like VIP and had such a friendly bartender Emma that made it even more special by bringing a suprise birthday Paddle board of shots on the house (with sparklers) and made a real effort with us, while we tried to guess the flavours and went out of her way to stop and discuss their drinks specials. We had a 5 month old baby along for the afternoon with us to make sure no one in the family missed out (one parent being alcohol free ofcourse), & we were made to feel welcome from the start. Special thanks to Emma & revolution team!

Booked a hen do here for 11th May 2024 for 22 ladies- the whole process from enquiry , booking and the day was so smooth. Sophie and the staff really went above and beyond to help coordinate the many(!) changes I requested , help decorate both rooms and generally were fab. The hosts for the master class were brilliant, buffet was fantastic and we all had the best time. Thank you to the revs team in Chester especially Sophie, you made the whole experience brilliant ✨🤍💗

Turn the music down !!!!!! Not everyone is a seventeen years old, walked in having reviewed our menu options first was looking forward to a meal and a glass or two of wine, couldn’t stay the music was blaring, the bar attendee couldn’t hear us requesting a table. What a shame, your Management needs to provide quiet spaces.

Tonight we visited Revolution Chester as we had a groupon voucher for Pizza or a burger with a cocktail for two,we ordered a pizza and a burger and swapped the cocktails for beers.The restaurant was dead I think they had one customer pretty poor for a bank holiday.The food was pretty good but management should tell the staff more about offers as the girl did not have a clue what was on offer.I think the restaurant could do will a good paint as the walls and door framing looked grubby.

Four of us had afternoon tea with cocktails and Prosecco. We all really enjoyed the food. The savoury afternoon tea was a nice change. The staff were accommodating and efficient. Thank you.

Small portions and slow service for bottomless brunch

Full of squeally women, even during a Saturday afternoon. Trying to get served was a right rigmarole.....seriously understaffed.

We booked a cocktail making class for a hen party, Oliver our host was great fun and created a good atmosphere as well as good cocktails. Thoroughly recommend it as a fun and entertaining afternoon experience. We later had some food and drinks in the restaurant it was agreat afternoon .

We had a booking Saturday 20th April for a friend’s hen party. The service was excellent, the staff were lovely. The food was absolutely awful, I had a beef burger which was dry and tasteless, some of us ordered fries which did not come out until well after we had finished our meal, they came late and were cold !!!!!

We have just finished a cocktails making class for my sisters hen do, our amazing bar tender Finn made the whole event magical, we had drinkers and non drinkers in our party and everyone was accommodated for. Finn went above and beyond to make my sisters hen party fun, hilarious and memorable. I would definitely recommend booking cocktail making for anyone who wants to celebrate a special occasion. Thank you so much again Finn 😀

Popped in lunchtime for a bite to eat, no complaints food was nice and service fine, but wow this place is in chronic need of an upgrade, the toilets are shocking and the decor and furniture are well past their sell by date, not a pleasant enviroment.

Turned up on Monday 7th June at 8:30pm to the Chester branch and asked for a table for 2 and was turned away by a young woman because there were only 2 members of staff. Reiterated that we only wanted some drinks; no food, and was met with: 'we have drinks stacked up, and cannot serve you.' before turning your back and walking away from us. We didn't even get chance to say we were happy to wait, no pressure. We had booked a couple of days off in Chester, and was taking it easy. Like I said, I will not ask someone twice to give them my custom, and I won't be complaining to your manager. What I will be doing, however, is making sure the investors in RBG.L are aware that there are staff turning down revenue in the midst of a pandemic. It was impressive, I thought you must have been generating good returns in order to turn money down. (even though the building had 20-30% capacity of chairs taken up) However I refer to this statement from your CEO in their April RNS: "Revolution Bars Group told investors on Tuesday that it slid to a £17.7 million pre-tax loss for the 26 weeks to December 26 after sales were battered by the pandemic." If Rob Pitcher is looking to close any more branches down, I would urge they look at the P+L of their Chester branch. This might sound critical, but it was quite clear from the 1 of the 2 members of staff I met: they did not care about customers or the financial health of the company. As it looks like sanctions are due to be extended on 21st June, all revenue should be graciously received... Well it certainly was by J D Weatherspoons. Business is difficult in these trading conditions as it is, without members of your own staff sticking the knife into the books. Customers do not deserve treatment like this, and neither do your shareholders. Edit 26.3.24 Oh my. What a shock: down 90% in the last 2 years. Can't say I am suprised, they claim it's because of young people not wanting to go out anymore... They could be referencing their terrible staff as above not even wanting to work... Perhaps it would help if they served the people who do want to go out. All I know for certain is that it's curtains time for the group. Good luck to the chumps I referenced above in Chester, would love to see how they get on in an environment where you can't hide. Feel sorry for the genuine workers who tried. Hopefully you saw the writing on the wall.

Bar staff are absolutely lovely and passionate they could not do enough for us, food is very good too would recommend to anyone. cocktails are very well made too

We had booked the afternoon tea with a bottle of prosecco. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. 2 for 1 on cocktails was great.

I was pleasantly surprised just how lovely this afternoon tea was. Heather, who was our waitress, was so attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. When our food arrived, it was presented really well and it was hot. Heather mentioned that as it was Friday, you could get a free cocktail using a code via their app. Really like the look of the restaurant and the food was lovely and we will be going back again.

Signage should be displayed if an area is for private bookings. Being the first time I've ever stepped foot in the place, i didn't appreciate 'you can't be in this area' 'you need to leave'... So i did, picked up my coat and walked out...followed by the rest of my group...will never frequent this place again...

Wow! What can I say. Came in for bottomless brunch on Saturday and it was ace. Zara (I think that was her name) was amazing and couldn’t do more for us. Food came out quickly and tasted amazing :) Drinks were so good, first few rounds were a little slow but Zara kept us topped up with Proseccos so we never had an empty glass. Such an amazing experience and will definitely be back, very happy :)

Went here today for the afternoon tea. It was absolutely lovely, so much food and choice such as burgers, chicken, fries, brownies, waffles, cheesecake, all so tasty. Lovely atmosphere and staff too. Would highly recommend this as great value. Will definitely book again

Tried to book online and saw you needed to buy a bottle of champagne for £60’to book! Rang up and had to pay £10pp and that went on the bar tab which was fab. A dj was playing so it was very loud but understandable as it’s NYE. Table was reserved and easy to find, drinks were good just super sweet! Staff seemed a bit miserable - but they’re working NYE (without extra pay I imagine) and it’s loud so I get it! If cocktails had fresh ingredients they may be nicer as they were overly sweet so hard to drink.

Wandered into this dog-friendly place a couple of days ago. Nice mix of people, nobody batted an eyelid at our family Incl mutt plonking themselves down amongst a much younger and trendier crowd. The 5-for platter was good value, and well above average for its kind.

Nice place pleasant Staff and 2 for 1 Cocktails. Only downside was had to have same Cocktails .

Could do with a good clean around booths where I sat floor dirty ,sticky table upholstery needs a good wipe down and clean. Food was good had chicken wrap would of liked it warm

I am extremely disappointed with the experience I had at Revolution Chester. I had booked a bottomless brunch for my birthday and was looking forward to a fun and enjoyable celebration. However, from the moment we arrived, the entire experience was nothing short of a disaster. Upon arriving at 4pm as scheduled, nobody came over to take our drinks orders. We waited for a staggering 20 minutes just to get our first round of drinks, which is completely unacceptable, especially for a bottomless brunch event where prompt service is essential. Even when the server eventually attended to us, she repeatedly had to return to ask what we had ordered. At one point, she even had to retake our order because she couldn't read what she had originally written down, a full 15 minutes after she had initially taken it. This level of disorganization and incompetence is simply unacceptable. To add insult to injury, a member of the waiting staff managed to spill a tray of drinks all over my aunt, leaving her saturated from head to toe. The chaos caused smashed glass everywhere, resulting in a member of our group getting glass in her finger. The lack of care and attention to basic safety and professionalism in handling such an accident is truly shocking. What compounds the disappointment is the lack of a satisfactory resolution to these issues. We were informed that any form of compensation or resolution would have to be pursued by calling the bar on Monday. This is an entirely inadequate response to the distressing and disruptive experience we had. We where sent over a bottle of Prosecco and a a tray of shots as a way of apology. As a result of the multiple failures in service and the mishandling of the incident, our night was effectively ruined, and we all had to return home, feeling embarrassed and disheartened. It is incredibly disheartening that what was meant to be a celebration turned into such a shambolic and disappointing experience. Overall, I cannot emphasise enough how deeply dismayed I am by the complete failure of Revolution Chester to deliver a satisfactory and enjoyable experience for what should have been a special and memorable occasion. The series of mishaps and the lack of adequate response from the establishment have left me thoroughly dissatisfied and I cannot in good conscience recommend Revolution Chester based on my experience. Although we received a discount at the end of the night we shouldn’t have actually had to pay a penny after the traumatising experience. Sadly, we will not be returning to Revolution chester any time soon.

This is an ideal place for students as the cocktails are 2-4-1 at all times. The music after 6pm gets pumped up in volume (a good strategy to get older folk out, younger ones in). It's pub grub but fine. We ordered pizza, burger and chips.

Went on the Cocktail Masterclass with Zara. We had such fun. We would definitely do this again. Thank you Zara for a wonderful time.

I came here with my daughter for lunch. We had the best time. The service was fantastic from a lovely girl called Zara, who helped us with our food and drinks choices 😀. I will definitely be coming here again.

This is our second time at this venue and was another great experience food excellent and staff very friendly we had the cheese and bacon fries and a pepperoni pizza each.

Tonight we visited Revolution Chester as we had a groupon voucher for Pizza and a cocktail for two for £25,we soon ordered two pizzas and swapped the cocktails for Amstel beer.Within twenty minutes the food arrived and I have got to say the pizza was lovely and washed down with a pint of Amstel.Will be back in the future.

We had Bottomless Brunch to celebrate my 50th birthday. Paul was our host and was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food and drinks were lovely. Huge thanks to Paul for making it so special. Highly recommend and would have Bottomless Brunch again.

Offering master class in cocktail making when the staff working there need the training. Probably the worst Long Island ice tea I have ever had the displeasure to taste. On the next visit to Chester we will definitely will not be going back.

Will definitely come back again for bottomless brunch! Knocked a star off on atmosphere just because I think the chef with the glasses need a reality check. Banging on the bell for the food to be taken out then thrown it. Not what you want to see when your having your food.
