Absolutely awesome meal very sensibly priced. Service was excellent. But they could do more for the disabled. Only one disabled parking space and this was already taken.

Absolutely stunning little gem of a place! Visited with a friend for a mid week lunch and only question is why there weren’t more people there?!! We sat outside as it was a lovely day and the setting is beautiful, really comfortable furniture under covered pergola overlooking water features and landscaped garden with a bunny hotel!! This was only enhanced by the food and service, both exceptional, and with very reasonable prices. I had the Prawn sandwich - delicious soft bread, great flavour, and my friend had the club sandwich, again only plaudits for it. We shared a portion of the most amazing salt and pepper chips as well - very generous portion, and chips like straight out the chippy, perfect! Next time I’ll be getting my own portion and take some home! Can’t wait to go again!

Issue with allergens I am allergic to strawberries, made this clear at the point of order but was given strawberry jam. Asked for raspberry again-was given cranberry sauce…finally got raspberry. Emailed the manger who sent a lovely, very detailed reply but didn’t follow up with her offer to make up for the poor experience which was disappointing. I did email again as her initial response was very quick but no reply.

Absolutely disgusting breakfast streaky bacon looked like mushrooms, bacon, tomotoes were just thrown in deep fat fryer and it was expensive

Came here when it first opened and it seemed like it had all the potential to be a great place to eat and drink. However , it seems to have gone downhill and nowhere near as good as Last time. Staff are great but the selection of cakes were disappointing, menu is basic and quite overpriced for what they offer. Coffee ok , not the best.

I am staying at BW for work and booked dinner at Hilltops on my first night. I was initially nervous that there didn't appear to be anything suitable for vegans on the menu, but I double checked with the receptionist, who was very helpful and communicated my request to the restaurant. This was a short-notice request, so I was not expecting much, but the chefs went above and beyond. The tofu & veg curry was really tasty, and the choc fudge cake was delicious. I couldn't eat it all in one sitting, but the team prepared the leftovers for me to take to my room and eat later. Thank you to the talented kitchen team and wonderful front of house team at Hilltops!

We were visiting the Anderton Boat Lift which is just 10 minutes down the towpath from The Moorings. As the coffee shop there was quite full after the boat trip we decided to try somewhere else close by. The Moorings is a little gem of a place, run by chefs, so expect hotel like presentation of excellent food, which is worth waiting for. This is a totally different dining experience from the usual canal side cafe. Dogs are allowed inside on the hard floor area, but we sat outside with ours as it was a beautiful day and we could admire the canal boats in the marina.
