The Cottage is a fine example of the great British local. Friendly staff, a decent well-priced pint and a resident cat.

Tuesday 29th August 2023 This Chester real ale bar is rightfully in the good beer guide it has 4 great real ales on it, and it is a 100% proper locals old-fashioned pub Staff on my visit ace locals ace and yoilets good The decor is virtually unspoilt from the day it was built This pub is an essential visit for real ale drinkers when in Chester Saturday 10th February 2024 Today, all us Bradford City fans returned to this great real ale pub in Chester after watching, the mighty Bantams beat Wrexham. This proper real ale pub was packed with a local following drinking the pubs pristine real ales. Please keep the real ales a flowing all involved☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️

Popped in on the Sunday before Christmas. Whilst town was busy this place had about 4 people in. It was a bit like walking into saloon in a 70s western movie where everyone snarls at you as you push the door. The lady behind the bar was less than welcoming and would benefit from either customer service training or a week off. We felt like an inconvenience so drank up and left. It’s a quaint olde place that would benefit from a refurb.

This is a proper pub, we try and visit when we go to Chester races, great staff and a fine selection of beers, but best of all the fire is always burning bright and long may it do so, see you soon 👍, our annual visit, glad to report all's well in the Cottage 👍

One of the best boozers in Chester, hands down.

A bunch of strangers took our reserved table. The place stunk of sweat and body odour, reeked of tobacco and there was no breathing room for anyone. One of the most claustrophobic places I have been in my entire life. I would never go back.

My twin brother Stephen and I were pub hopping around this part of town when we decided to drop into Ye Olde Cottage Inn ,a wonderful pub I always enjoy dropping into. This pub looks superb,traditional,the interior is superb,two roomed,an island style serving bar,pubby decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub,a really cosy pub indeed. We were here on a freezing cold Tuesday night,pub was packed ,greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff ,we had a quick study of their real ale's and we both went for Salopian Brewery pale ale,these were served in excellent condition ,we luckily managed to get a table in the back room were we soaked up the great vibe in this pub while sipping our pale ale's. My pale ale was good,a rich,golden pale ale,hoppy,bursting with taste,so tasty,so refreshing,it was just so good being in such a lively pub enjoying a quality real ale. These are the type of pubs I love ,proper local pubs serving the community ,we really enjoyed our pale ales in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Ye Olde Cottage Inn is easy to locate along Brook Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday,open from 4pm. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Ye Olde Cottage Inn on Brook street is one of the best pub's we visited on our two day trip to Chester. This superb pub offers a fantastic range of beers and many assorted pub games such as bagatelle and darts. The pub itself is immaculately kept with lots of nice decor throughout the interior of the two roomed pub.Ye Olde Cottage Inn offer discounts on there cask beer if you have a C.A.M.R.A card and with several cask ale's to choose from its the ideal pub to unwind and relax and have a few beers. We have visited Ye Olde Cottage Inn many times over the years as there cask ales are superb and its always an ideal pub to visit if you are heading for the train station. When here we had a few pints of cask ales which where perfectly served and very well priced especially with your C.A.M.R.A card which takes 30 pence off every pint. Se sirvieron en excelentes condiciones. Afortunadamente, conseguimos una mesa en la que nos relajamos, nos relajamos y disfrutamos del gran pub en el que estábamos.Mi pale ale era realmente buena, una pale ale con cuerpo, bien equilibrada con un gran golpe de lúpulo, muy fácil de beber, un estilo de cerveza real que tanto a mí como a mi hermano gemelo Stephen nos gusta especialmente.Ambos disfrutamos mucho de nuestras cervezas aquí antes de seguir adelante y, como en todas las demás visitas a Ye Old Cottage Inn, lo pasamos muy bien.Ye Olde Cottage Inn es fácil de localizar, desde la estación de tren de Chester, camine por Station Road hasta Brook Street, donde encontrará este pub.Un gran pub y vale la pena visitarlo si estás en la zona.
