Went to Haute Dolci where 5 of us (3 adults and 2 children) had desserts and hot drinks. The staff were so polite and pleasant. One of the staff surprised my young son by bringing over some dry ice to the table to make a smoke effect as a little bit of magic! The desserts we had were well presented and tasty. I only rated the restaurant 4 stars for food as I asked if we could have some tap water for the table (to try and balance the sugar overload!) and was informed that they were no longer able to serve tap water and I needed to buy a bottle if I wanted water. The bottles they had were small and over £2 each. I felt that considering the price point of the desserts and hot drinks and the amount of money we were spending in our order, a few glasses of tap water should be acceptable and I was a little put off by that. Overall, we had a pleasant experience at Haute Dolci and I would definitely recommend the service there.

Tried Haute Dolci for the first time today and will definitely be coming back here! The pistachio menu is definitely worth trying and the waiters were very good, Imtiaz looked after us very well.

I visited this branch for dessert for the first time, having been to the Liverpool location, which I’ve found to have much better service and a more welcoming atmosphere. When I arrived, there was no one at the till, so I stepped slightly further in to see if someone was available. A waiter, who was taking an order at another table, firmly told me to “please wait for five minutes.” I completely understand that he was busy, but the tone felt a bit abrupt. His expression also seemed uncomfortable or unwelcoming, which didn’t create the best first impression. I waited in the designated area, and when he came over, he simply asked, “YES PLEASE?” I requested a table for one, and although the café wasn’t full, he initially seated me near a family. I asked if I could move to another table for more privacy, and he did accommodate my request. After being seated at 2:00, my order wasn’t taken until 2:15. When I asked for his recommendation on a waffle, his response was, “If you need more time, I’ll go and come back,” which felt a little dismissive rather than helpful. I do understand that he was serving alone, which is never easy, but his attitude, along with his unwelcoming demeanor, made the experience less enjoyable. The two stars in my review are for the waffle, which was really good, and the ambiance, which was excellent. However, I had to take off two stars due to the staff’s attitude and lack of warmth in their service. Also, while the waffle was tasty, £12 felt a bit expensive for what it was so I took off another star. Hopefully, this was just an off day.

It is rare for me to leave a negative review, but unfortunately, I feel compelled to share our recent experience at Dolci. We have been loyal customers since the restaurant first opened nearly seven years ago. While we have noticed a decline over the past two years, we always gave the benefit of the doubt due to our longstanding fondness for Dolci. However, our visit yesterday was deeply disappointing. The most concerning issue was that we experienced food poisoning after our meal. In addition, the overall service—particularly the attitude of the manager—left much to be desired. Our evening started on a positive note, thanks to a wonderful waiter who was patient, kind, and professional. He went out of his way to accommodate my younger brother, who is quite particular about his food, and made friendly conversation with us after serving our mains. Unfortunately, despite his excellent service, he was reprimanded by the manager simply for spending more than a few minutes at our table. The manager’s demeanor throughout the evening was cold and unwelcoming. He repeatedly walked past our table, attending to others while completely disregarding us. At one point, I had to leave my seat to request assistance, as our table was left uncleared for over 30 minutes. When we left, our goodbyes were ignored, reinforcing the overall impression of indifference. Hospitality is an industry built on warmth and attentiveness—qualities that were noticeably absent during our visit. A rigid, impersonal approach to service does not align with modern dining expectations. Given the declining standards, the lack of customer care, and the unfortunate health issue we experienced, it is difficult to justify the high prices. The only positive aspect of our visit was the exceptional service provided by our waiter, whose professionalism and kindness stood out despite the circumstances.

Seated and served quick but trying get the attention of a member of staff to take our plates to order desserts and more drinks was impossible, walked out in the end paid for what had obviously but when asked if everything was ok and I said we asked twice and waited half an hour just to get dessert menus was met with blank face and oh im sorry and handed the bill, used to love it here not going back after this disgusting service
