I had the lamb rogan josh, and it was one the tastiest curries I've had in ages.

First time we have been here we came for the Sunday Buffett . Amazing could not fault it the food was fresh tasty and hot plenty to choose from . Would definitely recommend we will be going back ..

Never a bad meal. An item was forgotten from the order. I called up and it was with me ten minutes later. This is not a complaint but to show how quick they rectified the mistake. I’ve never been let down by essence of spice 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Masala sauce had an overbearing vinegar flavour, nans small and lacked flavour, dips also had an odd taste to them. Only positive was they gave extra poppadoms but unfortunately nothing to dip them in as remainder was really disappointing.

Had to call to check delivery as its a 10 min drive but 35 mins later after notification of delivery, still not arrived. Was told there were 2 drops. Food was warm but not hot.

Food was absolutely freezing the nann bread was cold and Rock solid the rice was cold

We had a great family meal. We're a big curry eating family and have tried lots of places across the UK and this compares very well. Food was tasty and generous with good quality ingredients (we had the sisilia, korai, korma, and butter chicken). There are good deals on offer for set meals and also deals for some drinks that was a nice touch. Nice atmosphere with well maintained decor and furniture. Service was very friendly and professional. One of my children has a peanut allergy, and they have very clear allergy information and stated when we asked that they use no peanuts at all. Would recommend!

Food was meant to be delivered between 9:20-9:25 it’s now 22:00 o’clock send half hour ago and they said my food was out for delivery 30 mins later still not received it I ordered 2 hours ago after work this is a joke

We visited last night nice and clean a little cold in there food was amazing served fresh and hot staff friendly and helpful definitely recommend a visit we will definitely be back The head waiter was friendly and helpful as partner wanted to try something new so he recommended a nice lamb dish tea time special is £18.95 and you get a good selection including starter main rice sides and dessert

Probably our 6th visit to date: Table for 2. Busy night, service was very good. Value for money. Can’t fault the food at all…….. BUT….. when we’re actually eating our meals we don’t want the waiter ( sounded like he had a Geordie accent) standing at the table rabbiting on about his 6 daughters, who are a blessing from Allah as they can bear children, and how life on earth is just a stage in the process of life, and when you die is when life begins ( paraphrasing ) I just want to have a meal and enjoy my night without a Muslim sermon.

Abysmal. After a few Sunday buffets always at least 70% of it is empty, and searching for any meat within the main courses is often like Mission Impossible, but of course they still want their full £15 at the end. Stingy cheap-skates that take the full urine. AVOiD!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and the popadoms were stale and the chicken wings were gross 🤮

The food here was absolutely amazing! I'm not one for spicy food but I wanted to try another curry... luckily there was a young staff memeber near me who kindly helped me by explaining what were the mild ones and what were the spicy ones. They also do chicken nuggets in here and I alway have to have some whenever I visit this place because they are just the best! They also do do a big bowl of naan bread cut up into big bits and they are always done just right. They do puddings but I only have that now and then, they sell alcohol as well as soft drinks and the staff are always so kind when we go in there as well. They have recently had a bit of a revamp and the colour of the walls is beautiful with the big mirrors inside. This place is disabled friendly as well as family friendly. Keep up the good work 👍

Sent two veg curry's which were not good at all. For £52 I expect meat and a bit of taste to my food

I ordered expecting to wait . At 8pm I had a Just Eat Notification to say food was on its way . Time given 8.00- 8.20. I phoned restaurant at 8.40 and was told it had left & it would be 5-10 mins . It actually arrived just after 9

Poor service, average food and rude, insulting staff. Couldn't seem to cope with a large group of 10 although there were other similar size groups there. Orders got mixed up and my meal which was a Chef Recommendation Murghi Badami was so extremely sweet it was almost unedible, cashews were burnt black and took more than 5 mins for the rice to be delivered to the table. Staff 'banter' was light hearted to start but ended up being rude and quite offensive. None of the group will be going there again.

The estimated time for delivery was one hour-1 Hr 20, the food was 1 Hr 50 min and I was told at the 1 Hr 20 time when I rang that it had been delivered on the app (cynically, is this some issue on the app to stop them appearing late?). I was also told it would be 10 min and the driver was on his way when it took a further 30 min. This wasn’t a big order and was not a complex one. Really disappointing

I’ve ordered from here a few times now and the food is always delicious. It was a little lat this time but not by much and I was kept informed about it. The food was piping hot and generous portions. Fast becoming my favourite for Indian food. Highly recommended.

Went for the Sunday buffet, seemed to have a good range of starters and mains, nothing that was particularly spicy though. Found the chicken in most of the dishes was very dry. Found that dishes weren’t topped up very often, so didn’t taste very fresh, and not much meat left. Personally think there are better places available locally that offer a buffet on a Sunday.

The food was good just a shame that one of the dishes was missing so had to ring up and ask them to send it out. The missing item took a while to arrive but the delivery lady was very polite and couldn’t apologise enough but it’s not her fault, whoever packed the order must have left it on the side. On the whole a decent curry house and easy to order through Just Eat.

First time complaining about Essence of spice normally excellent, food was late and cold, onion bhaji burnt not a great experience I'm afraid 😕

My order had delivery time of 19:35-19:55 and didn’t arrive. I called the restaurant 3 times and they advised they tried to call the driver but no answer. I told them To cancel my order and they said I’ve got to tell the driver and they’ll return it and they’ll process my cancellation. Absolute joke of service.

The worst Indian food Iver ever and the masala is usually my favourite.

I never review food, ever, but tonight’s meal could not go without comment. This is the absolute worst Indian food I have ever tasted. The main meals we had were garlic chicken and biriani - both lacked any discernible flavour. The naan breads were inedible and 75% of this order has now been binned. I write this only so others can avoid this place.

this used to be a nice takeaway restaurant. I gotta say tho, Ive just had one of the most tasteless meals i've ever had the missfortune to order. its the second time in a year ive tried the essence. had the tandoori meat set meal and all of the meat was dry, no flavour hardly, just colouring. the curry sauce tasted like a powdered mix from the pound store. ridiculous to think they getting away with charging £25+ for that rubbish. so dissapointed at how poor it was. IF I WAS IN THE RESTARAUNT I WOULD OF STOPPED EATING AND WALKED OUT WITHOUT PAYING. AWFUL

Food arrived cold, naan was chewy, butter chicken tasted very bitter and the chicken tikka was very sweet, best part was the chips, but they were only luke warm. Disappointed with the food in general.

Great Food, good selection of starters, meals and desserts, Sunday buffet, friendly helpful staff and reasonably priced, one of my favourite places to go for a meal/takeaway.

Visited today for Christmas lunch. Our table had both indian & English dishes. Restaurant was very festive & tables laid beautifully. Friendly & welcoming staff, very efficient. Food was amazing!! Couldnt fault either cuisines, hot, tasty & beautifully presented. 5 stars. Will be booking for next year too. Thank you essence of spice.
