Came for dinner at 7pm. Service and food were great. Ended up staying for the evening and playing darts and pool. Loved the vibe, staff were really great and there was a good selection of beer at a reasonable price. If I lived closer this would definitely be a regular spot for us. Have already recommended to other people

We stayed at the local campsite and ate at The Derby Arms in the evening and then for Mother’s Day breakfast. The food was lovely , we enjoyed fish and chips and a full English in the morning. The meats were sourced locally and the curly sausage was the best I have ever had. The pub is dog friendly so is good for walkers to call in for a bite to eat or a pint. Toilets were very clean The young man who served us was very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us.

Lovely cafe in a nice spot with a view and food was lovely BUT no a very warm welcome we reserved a table arrived on time no one welcomed us we had to find our own table with booking reservation name on, a member of staff shouted over the counter that table is reserved so we told her it was ours. Then after waiting several minutes we had to get our own menus staff were unhelpful as we’d never been before so wasn’t sure if it was table service or not. Overall service poor didn’t feel friendly. The noise from the coffee machine was irritating and a lot of banging going on found it hard to hear ourselves speak at times which was annoying. Don’t think I’d go back, oh and the toilet was dirty bin was full and open showing either a dirty nappy or sanitary towel that was unpleasant.

This is only a review of the nicer restaurant / brasserie (Brasserie Level 31). Very, spookily, quiet. The town is low-grade bustley. But empty in this restaurant. It's nicely presented. Clean. Staff keen but a bit hesitant/unpolished. Food was very good indeed. The pâte crème brulée was nice, as was the white asparagus starter (plenty of asparagus!). The lamb was excellent. Wine options reasonable value. I guess it was too traditional and pricy for the beerier boozier denizens of Keswick?

The food isn't great, though the prices are! Cod loin on bombay spuds was miniscule, presented on a silly pretentious plate- £18! Could have polished it off in two mouthfuls. Meanwhile large platefuls of fish and chips going by. No need for those diners to snack once home before bed. My wife's duck was tough and overcooked, nothing hot. Sticky toffee pudding served with a small scoop of banana (weird pairing) ice cream. Poor effort all round.

Very tired and in need of complete renovation and it shouldnt have been advertised as a four star hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful working under poor conditions. Breakfast choice poor unless you like eggs and the vegetarian full English was dry and obviously been kept under a heat lamp. Definitely not 4 star and I understand the day after we left the hotel was closed for renovation.
