It's always a busy place as it has a decent menu and we just managed to get enough seats from various places in the pub to add to an empty table for the four of us. We didn't eat as we only made our way across from the other side of the town to be closer to the bus stop as our Sunday bus service finishes early. If we miss it, it's close on £30 for a taxi to take us across the river Wyre and home. Fast and friendly service at the bar. Lots of TVs around the wall showing various sports, which can be a bit restrictive for conversation between people in mixed groups. But there was overall a friendly atmosphere. Keep an eye open for the daily Special menu. Reduced prices on the menu option, but it's separate from the main menu so you may need to hunt one down off another table - or ask at the bar. We had the curry on a previous visit which worked out at very good value for money on the daily special.

Nice friendly place ...door staff very friendly , food was very good, and dog friendly as i could see. one certain male bartender, kept throwing bottles, etc, into the skip very hard,doing his best I suspect to smash them, which in turn was very loud, and startling if you wasn't expecting it. Perhaps he gets a kick out of it, his mother mustn't have bought him a rattle as a child!!. I will return to the pub again, and bring ear plugs lol..

One of the best value breakfasts in Poulton. Good quality produce perfectly cooked and ridiculously cheap. Best of all is the service which is always friendly. It's also dog friendly and a great beer garden. Good menu outside of breakfast. A great alternative to Wetherspoons and for me a better quality option. Cheap parking which is refundable.

It obviously has its regulars but the choice of beers was poor.

Weekend special of 5 small dishes. Chicken wing, onion rings, cheesy chips etc. For £11. Plenty for 2 people. Bargain and very welcome in this day and age when eating out is becoming a luxury.

Very pleasant afternoon spent with friends in good conversation, enjoying a few drinks in the warm sunshine on the outside terrace.

Enjoyed a nice meal, nice atmosphere and the bar staff are very friendly and offer swift service.

Lovely Pub, Excellent Reasonably Priced Food , Friendly Staff, Dog Friendly, Great Beer Garden with plenty of seats and even has Pods to keep you snug outside. Our little dog was even given a Sausage Treat..how good is that. 5 ***** 😃👍

We held our father Lloyd Gilks's wake here on the 5th of May 2023. The welcome and care off Alan, Louise and everyone of the bar staff was outstanding. I have never seen such a quality buffet in all my life and nearly everyone at the wake said the same. Once again thank you so much. My dad would have been so proud of you all

Good atmosphere and lovely staff

Onl my last visit the pint I had ordered "Timothy Taylors - Landlord" had quite a bad flavour to it. I've had countless pints of this lager and this, which I'm sad to say was the worst one. I did wonder if they had put the wrong cask on the wrong handpump. Apart from that, the visit was fine. 3 stars for the bad pint, hopefully, on my next visit it will attain 5 stars.

Full english breakfast was great

Quiet early evening, nice pub. The only thing I didn't like was alot of people were at the back outside smoking and the smell of cigarette smoke wafted through the pub. Nice friendly staff.

Went in at Lunch-time with a friend, hasldnt been in for a few yrs. Had the Lasagna, was hot, and very tasty. With a serving of garlic bread. Well worth a visit. Will b going back..

Me and my wife wen't on Sunday 26 3 23 . Wanted sunday lunch but they do not do them . We had 10 Oz smothered rump and 10 Oz gammon steak . And 2x cookie apple . What can I say .just amazing food .good pub .we always go when we are in poulton . Regards Andy

Just had the most delicious Christmas meal. Home cooked, hot, lashings of gravy. Even home made apple and cranberry sauces. Dressed tables, crackers and friendly staff. Highly recommended and very well priced.

Great value breakfast, as good as any other cafe in Poulton & much cheaper. Lovely coffee, staff are really friendly & it's lovely & warm. Definitely recommend

Had our end of season get together in the Bull this evening and both food and staff were fantastic. There was 28 of us and nothing was too much trouble and although we were advised that there could be a little wait for our food due to the amount of us the waiting time was great. Looking forward to our 2023 end of season meal there.

Great place for food and drinks nice friendly staff, food is good.

Came in for Sunday carvery at tea time orded on app . At to wait nearly a hour for meal and when came looked nice but hardly any gravy on plate only on meat .wife had beef which was tough as boots . Also ordered puddings at same time as meal and had to ask for them 50 minutes after main meal was told they were being prepared but still had to wait another 15 minutes for it only saving grace was desert's.

On Saturday we went into the Bull for the first time in years. It will be another many years before we go back and eat there again. We ordered two medium cooked steaks, which were not cheap. They came which were both cold and raw in the middle so we sent them back. 25 minutes later 2 more arrived which were so over cooked they were inedible. We left in disgust and took the steaks home for the dog, even the dog would not eat that rubbish. The food was disgusting, badly cooked, greasy and cold, the young lad who served us was very apologetic and I felt sorry for him. The staff seemed very tired, looked disinterested and overworked and observing the chef, he portrayed a lack of enthusiasm. Sadly we will not return any time soon, if at all

Decided to go out for food with the family as a last minute decision and we’re so glad we did, the staff and managers are so polite and welcoming, lovely friendly environment and just an all round good vibe, food was so fresh and came out on time and tasted delicious! we will sure be back again! Julie (cook) made the most amazing spectacular steak I've ever had in my entire life and then out came Lauren (barmaid) one of the most amazing women I have ever seen she was honestly one in million any thing I asked for she came with! Sauce, salt, pepper she was there ! I didn't expect this kind of service when I came her but I can honestly say it was top notch ! Lots of love Tony stokes

We stopped fror a drink decided have some small plates from the menu, they wete all served hot and were really nice, Sunday lunch looked lovely, pub looks like it gets busy on football match days.

Sunday roast on a not very busy Sunday afternoon a week ago. Absolutely dry and overcooked. Gravy congealed in its serving jug. Vegetables badly presented including the stalk ends of the carrots which would normally be cut off and thown away during prep. Paid extra for pigs in blankets which were still pinky white and looked like they had just come out of the packet. Vegetables variously under or overcooked. Whole lot looked like it had been reheated several times, although ironically the meal was luke warm at best. Pretty much inedible and therefore left uneaten. The sausage and mash was only marginally better. We did inform the server who came to collect the plates and said he would have a word with the chef. Sat and waited for any follow up chat for another 15 mins whilst finishing our drinks but no one came back to discuss and we left unattended. Really poor.

Day out in Poulton. Stopped off for a late lunch. Absolutely delicious food. Highly recommended
