Service as usually 1 star but the prices are 5 hotel stars and the coffee taste is different..was better years ago.. Time to change

The store arbitrarily adds a fee (not a tax) to the menu price. This is deceptive and unfair. They claim this is a tax on the receipt. It is categorically not so. Due to their dishonesty, 1 star.

You can get hand-brewed coffee for 6 pounds Paired with the beautiful view of the harbor, priceless

Coffee is great, but stay away from the sugary chai! I ordered a chai latte and it was so sugary, so sickeningly sweet I threw it away. It was like eating candy. Guys, chai is black tea with spices and milk, period. Stop copying Starbucks and their overly sweet "4 pumps" of syrup! Make it authentic or dont make it at all.

Slow service and served hot nola just that it was warm and not hot. Taste is good.

Service was great! My husband heard this was the best coffee place in San Francisco so we had to give it a try! The woman who helped us answered all our questions and gave great recommendations! We tried the Winter pour over, single origin pour over, winter espresso, and single origin espresso! The winter pour over was our favorite! We had the option of ceramic cups or to go cups for our espresso shots. We chose ceramic so we could drink them there & cut down on waste. They were served with sparkling mineral water! Thank you so much for an amazing experience. Can’t wait to try out or local Blue Bottle in San Diego!

The coffe and the egge sandwich is very good

Blue Bottle’s headquarters is here. They recommended a latte, so I ordered it even though I like Americano. Oh~~ It's a nice latte with the first taste of milk foam gently spreading throughout your mouth. The foam follows you until you finish drinking the latte. During the week, people take the ferry to work downtown, so the waiting lines are long even early in the morning. Instead, it is quiet on Sunday morning, as you can see in my photo. You can also pick up a Blue Bottle badge for free. Haha.

$5.20 for a 12oz drip coffee. Will not go back and support prices like this even in SF. Go to Red Bay two doors down and pay $2 less for great coffee.

The quality of coffee at Blue Bottle is top-notch, as always, but the service was a major letdown. I visited on July 31, 2024, and ordered one coffee and a waffle. When my name was called, I received only the coffee. Assuming the waffle was still being prepared, I waited and took some photos. After five minutes, I asked about it, only to be told that my waffle had been mistakenly given to another customer who had already left. I was stunned—they didn’t even apologize for the mix-up! The staff simply said they’d make a new waffle. There was no apology for the misunderstanding, and no thank you when they finally handed it over. Overall, the lack of basic courtesy made this one of the worst service experiences I’ve had. Great coffee, but they really need to work on their customer service.

The coffee selections and quality can’t really be beaten. There’s numerous other Blue Bottles nearby and it’s pretty standard across the board but what does stand out is the service. The worker looked absolutely bored and annoyed to even be there when I was taking my order. Very rude. Maybe a long day but customer service needs to be on point when working this area.

I had a drip coffee here. It was absolutely bitter. If you want quality, better choose a different café! Gross!

Blue Boat's first branch, a place where you can feel the excitement of the Blue Bottle, but that's it. There was no menu unique to that branch, and the taste wasn't that special.

Had an Americano w/ a splash of oat milk. Honestly, wasn't too good. The coffee was bitter without much flavour. Staff were very sweet and helpful though. Perhaps the milky coffees are better. Also very expensive.

Paid 5$+ for a black drip coffee that was labelled as a dark roast but was light/medium . Overpriced and not that good of a coffee.

Blue Bottle is one of my favorite coffee shops in San Francisco. I always order the NOLA with oat milk, either hot or cold depending on the weather, and it’s delicious. The service is always great. The Ferry Building location is my favorite because it stays open later.

The Nola Shakerato was absolutely delicious!!! It is perfectly balanced with sweet vanilla bean and shaken. So smooth, so nutty, so delicious! Highly recommended it.

Ordered a latte, good flavors but lack of seating leaves to not the greatest atmosphere. Still good service. Busy tourist location is noisy.

The guys were so funny and nice! They made a special cappuccino for me (see the funny pic) and made my day! Coffee is a bit expensive for the cup size, but hey! Coffee is really good. :))

In the pier market, the crowds are a little too crowded and the feeling of leisure is lost. Prefer the founding store

It was my first time knowing that Blue Bottle was an American product, and the first Blue Bottle I tried in the U.S. mainland had oily coffee beans and a deep flavor. The bread was so-so, and it was a nice experience to look at the sea and drink coffee while being blinded by the strong UV rays in the morning.

They also sold goods that can only be purchased in San Francisco. At the entrance, a friendly guard opened and closed the door. There were light meals such as muffins and sandwiches, and various types of coffee.

The origin place of Blue bottle cafe. It was aquite small cafe. With long history, there is heritage of San Francisco. In fact, there are Blue Bottle cafes all over the city, but if you like Blue Bottle, it's worth visiting at least once. In the evening, if you walk around the pier behind the cafe with coffee, the night view across the sea is wonderful. You can drink coffee and take a look around. It's a great place with a story.

There is an exterior and interior view of the Ferry Building, and the interior appears to be real. This is a place I always visit when I visit San Francisco. The clerk was very friendly. I ordered two lattes and they were different pictures. The barista's skills were excellent. There was nothing more to say about the taste.

The Blue Bottle in Ferry Building San Francisco is lucky to have a superb barista-Jalil, who makes the very best coffee, always with professionalism, attention to detail and care, regardless of how busy the place is! Whenever he is there, I know that my drinks will be excellent and never disappointing. With few other good exceptions, not at the same level as him though, the others are often disappointing, which for the price, should never happen! The ordering service depends on who is on duty and the best is Xen, a kind and positive gentlemen, who always gets them correctly. The downside of the location is that the managers saw it as a priority to line up shelves with products right in front of ordering bar, narrowing the space considerably, although those interested can easily search and purchase items online, instead of offering some respect and decency to their many customers, by providing at least some more moving space and seating area! Also, it seems like nothing outside of the shop interests anyone (and again for this the criticism goes to the management), which is why the stand where the lids and other additions are offered, is never cleaned up, the same with the narrow table outside of the window, where the mobile orders are served! If the nonsensical product shelves are removed from the tiny space, there would be enough room to have lids, sugar and other additions offered inside the shop, where they should be! It takes a special kind of rudeness or carelessness, to treat those that invest in you and keep your business alive, in such disrespectful manner!

Great coffee choices while you wait for a ferry! I was a bit bored and walked around and saw this coffee place! It was so nice and simple! As a matcha lover I got one for myself… I took it to go! The coffee art was so cute! They really make a good matcha there!

Situated in a very lively and touristy place, the Ferry building, the Blue bottle coffee serves a unique black cardamom latte. I have never heard of cardamom coffee before till I tasted it here. The coffee has a refreshing black cardamom after taste. The staff is nice. One other thing to notice is its brand name which is just its logo, you’ll not see the name “blue bottle coffee” written anywhere in the shop. Good one. Do try!

Usually I get the cappuccino, but lately, it’s not that good. Did Nestle change the quality?

Best to use app to order. Very busy location. Always delicious. Don’t forget about the location at the entrance to the ferry building. Fantastic staff!

Nevers go back again. First and last Time . We were waiting twenty minute , and we didn'r recieve our order . Their only excuse was : our machine IS broken . And they can't telle us if somebedy took our order by mistake. We regret to Lost 10 dollars with 2 dollars tips . Satisfactions's Customers are their last intest

Coffee is average, but what was more troubling was the way they served us water. Server had no gloves and had fingers in cup where water was poured. I saw them use the tap and switch it to hot to fill up the hot water cup, instead of using the kettle... not impressed.

I’ve been coming here since they opened and have always had great experiences. I moved away a 7 years ago and have been back a handful of times since—still great. This time however, quality control and customer service have clearly gone awry. Two days ago my partner got a tea and it was great. Came back the next day and got the same tea, but the water was lukewarm at best. When we asked if we could have a new tea that was hot, I was told the water that is dispensed is always the same temperature. I said, regardless, the tea was still just warm at best, and the cashier said “I can’t explain the water temperature beyond how I just did.” Zero effort to make it right. Sad to see a once great institution fall by the wayside.

Nah, nearly $6 for a quad shot? Big chain with big prices. Coffee is meh. Also owned by the Nestle brand which is cool if you're into killing babies. Just go to Red Bay or project diaz around the corner for something locally owned

Lots of interesting, unique coffee recipes I've never seen nor heard of before. And I've traveled many famous coffee countries, cities and shops. I ordered the New Orleans style latte with oat milk. This is great for coffee lovers that like the caffeine but don't want their tongue hit too hard. It has a smooth flavor! Very delicious!

After more than a decade living in Melbourne, AU I really appreciate great coffee. And great coffee is actually hard to find in the US. But lattes served at Blue Bottle can rival the best Richmond coffee shops in Melbourne. Yes, quite expensive - around $5 for a latte (and it looks like they only have cup size) but it's worth it. Additionally Blue Bottle makes amazing Belgium waffles - also highly recommended. It is network, so you can find them in multiple locations. I have seen the ones in Alameda, Palo Alto, Stanford and Santana Row and they all served high quality coffee

Coffee is good and the service is what you'd expect at any such establishment. It's all about the location. This is a great place to grab a cappuccino and go sit and look at the ocean.

Great coffee as usual. However, the customer service experience has significantly decreased. Is not what it once was. It used to be attentive, correct in the orders, friendly. I understand is more of a tourist location which for that reason should be even better than was it was back in 2011!!

Probably my favorite coffee spot in the city. Lattes with oat milk are an absolute game changer. Coffee is always fresh and won't let you down.

A wonderful little coffee shop. It is one of the places I miss in San Francisco where we would grab coffee on the weekend (pre pandemic) before enjoying a stroll down the promenade. The staff friendly, efficient and never made you felt rushed. The wait is worthwhile!

1. Came over to a front, got “onesec” answer from barista and then she turned her back to me for 2 minutes until she finished whatever she was doing. 2. Ordered medium size poor-over with(!) milk, paid $5.72(including tips I think) 3. Waited for about 7 minutes(!) to pick up a coffee. 4. Once I’ve got far enough and made a first sip, I discovered the coffee with no(!) milk :) 5. I counted at least 3 people who is doing coffee in the spot + 1 cleaning person. Try to be objective in description, so people can judge themselves. But my 2 stars are obviously subjective. No more Blue Bottle Coffee for me.

From the moment we got here the vibe was sad. And The service was terrible. We tried to ask questions about their different menu and they were ignorant and rude not wanting to answer. We finally got our drinks and the cup was a little over half way full. They forgot one of our drinks and the drinks we got were flavorless. It’s sad because we could of just walked to Starbucks and got better service, better drinks in a happier atmosphere. Point blank just do your job and if your unhappy with your life don’t take it out on other people and do something about it.

Blue Bottle was introduced to me in NYC, but I knew them as an Oakland company. The coffee did not disappoint. Delicious cortado that I forgot to get a picture of the prefect pour because I sipped it first.

The location of the Blue bottle is great. It’s close to the water and a fun visit. The coffee is great too.

This cafe chain is pretty much over hyped. I was extremely disappointed with an espresso which was very bitter, acidic and had no aroma at all. We also got a cappuccino and it tasted as if the barista covered the quality of the coffee beans with a frothy milk. And I saw Blue Bottle featured in the documentary about coffee! Unbelievable.

Blue Bottle Coffee was our go to stop for coffee when we visited San Francisco! The coffee was high quality and delicious - wish we had one back at home!

I give it a 5 star for customer service and a two star for taste. This was my first time trying blue bottle coffee and it may have just been a fluke, but the espresso was really bad. It had no crema, was really thin in texture, was only bitter and was less intense than what I can make at home with a mokapot or pressurized porta filter. Maybe I just had bad luck

I went to Blue Bottle Coffee a couple of weeks ago, and I experienced horrible service. First off, the cashier told me they only accept credit cards and then was surprised that I had a credit card. I know it was because I am African American. Then I had to wait for a long time for my order that tasted like garbage. I know that a couple of decent people left once they heard me complain to the manager. I will never go there again nor will I spend my money at THAT horrible ferry building.

Is the coffee good? I do not know. What I know is that first I had to wait ages to order. Then ordered sparkling water, two croissants, one latte and one cappuccino. Then waited for the coffee. Guess what? They did not take the order correctly. Just asked us to wait until they’d solve the problem. Solving the problem for them is having one wait until he dies.... never ever am I going to buy something from them. That was unprofessionnal and rude.

10 minutes wait for order and 15 for pick up and then they didn’t take the order right. We tell the lady and she tells us to wait. 10 minutes later she had forgotten the whole thing so yes, we leave with one coffee for two people after 35 minutes wait and not even a sorry from them. We weren’t the only guys dealing with their poor service. While we waited, four other orders were wrong and one guy waited longer than us to get an expresso.

Blue bottle just isn’t that good. It’s got a lotta hype, and not a lotta quality to back it up. They’re corporate now! They’ve got a billion products in grocery stores across the US. This whole niche coffee shop vibe doesn’t work anymore, y’all might as well be a Starbucks. Start making good coffee and maybe we can talk, but for now your beans are all under roasted and your baristas burn everything.
