The Manor Restaurant in Wirral

Must try this place at least once for a nice meal out. Very pricey but the quality of food you get makes it slightly worth your visit. I'm vegetarian and unfortunately there were only 2 non-pizza options for me. Mushroom burger or this onion pasty (pic). I can't tolerate mushrooms so left me with only option.. The appearance of restaurant such as the tables, cutlery, washrooms are absolutely beautiful too. Wish my house looked like it!

The food was fabulous. The only thing that let it down was the service. One waitress went on her break which resulted in the area we were sitting in not being monitored by other staff despite him being told to cover the area . We sat in front of the serving area and seen our puddings sitting there for 20 minutes & the chefs ringing the bell 3 times before we were served finally by the French (I think) waiter/maitre d who had to step in and rectify this issue for us (he was fabulous by the way) we then had to sit for even longer waiting to catch someone's attention to request the bill which again took a while to receive. £75 was spent & its a shame the service wasn't fully upto scratch.

Had an amazing evening for a private 70th birthday at The Barn ..The whole evening was superb . Great venue , amazing food and menu choices , the staff and service were superb . Particularly loved the fact that we had individual printed menu choices on the table so the staff knew what we had chosen and didn't need to ask . 10 / 10 ..

Lovely book club meal out at the Manor made extra special by our engaging, attentive and highly amusing waiter Nick who was a breath of fresh air and a fellow book worm.

We went here yesterday, absolutely beautiful food, lovely atmosphere, cannot fault the place, will be going back. The place was full, but once sat at ur table you would never know, no delayed service and was enough floor space to feel like you were just with your group, love what they have done to the place.

Nice meal, drinks very expensive (but they are everywhere) good atmosphere. Not the cheapest but very pretty inside and the toilets are amazing! Most notable is the service, which was impeccable.

We went to celebrate 3 special family birthday's. The food was good the service was poor, Never was asked if everything was ok, we had to remind staff for drinks of water. They brought out the birthday cake to the table, sang happy birthday then told us we couldn't cut the cake which was really upsetting. Then to add insult they asked if we would like the dessert menu. We all declined on principle have so far spent a substantial amount of money so far. There appears to be no looking forward with a view of a regular booking of 13 people going for meals. They instead spoiled the day and have lost any further bookings, as am sure others will feel the same was as we all did.

Fantastic restaurant, lovely food, great service. Everything was really tasty, and of high quality. Had two small "for the table* starters (which were huge), I had the steak and ale pie with chunky chips which was amazing, and my wife had the fish pie which also looked fabulous. We will be back. We popped in without a reservation on Thursday 28th March afternoon, we were quickly sat down and served with the most delicious steak burger, we both thoroughly enjoyed the food! Waiting staff were very pleasant despite being extremely busy!

This would be 5 stars for the fish and chips . But unfortunately I had the pork roast dinner. It was so awful but I guess if I had have gone in the day time it might of been lovely. It felt it had been standing all day . The veg was awful. The gravy was like water . Probably one of the worst roast dinners I have tasted . But in all fairness if it was freshly cooked it potentially could of been lovely. That I will never know . I didn't want money of the bill . I wanted the manager, /asst manager not to be so rude . Shrugged me off when I politely told him the my roast dinner wasn't that good. He walked off . I just wanted to show him my plate of food and how bad it was . Very quietly I must add. Unbelievable. So sad that I was really looking forward to my first experience there . Very unprofessional.

On arrival a lovely young lady asked us had we booked which we had. Then an obnoxious man talked over her & showed us to our table. I believe he is the assistant manager,who could really do with taking hospitality lessons from our lovely FRIENDLY Pleasant waitress. Food lovely no problem.

Today's wedding reception was at The Manor in Greasby. I hope they have a wonderful evening. Back again for another wedding. With one of our Imperial Viscount Landaulette's with a matching Daimler Limousine.

Brilliant experience at The Manor for us. The food was outstanding so compliments to the chef but our evening was truly made special by Charlie, our waitress, who went the extra mile to make sure we and our pooch Lemmy, had a great night. Held my mother in laws wake in The Barn, which is part of the Manor. It was so good we have now booked our 50th wedding anniversary party in July. The venue, the staff, the food excellent.

Saturday 2nd March 2024. Great Evening in The Barn at The Manor Greasby. Dan Hadfield gave a magnificent performance for a fully involved audience, following a very enjoyable meal. What a great night; Gary Barlow can be well assured that his reputation is in safe hands with Dan Hadfield, whose Tribute to Gary is first class. The evening was a sellout and Dan’s performance made it a night to remember. Let’s hope that he is back in Greasby before too long. Thanks to the Manor Events Team and all staff on duty for their professional and considerate attention on the night.

3 of us had the afternoon tea. Omg it was gorgeous. Especially for me the fresh fruit little tartlets mmm. We will definitely be back.

Edit to say I emailed the manager as they commented to below on the same day they asked and I have yet to hear back... Shows exactly how much they care and lack in customer service. I really wouldn't waste my time here. Honestly wouldn't come back here. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was dreadful. We arrived and was looked at as if we shouldn't or don't belong in the place. We was then shown to our table (the naughty corner) or what felt like the naughty corner. Constantly getting disgusting looks at all the staff as they walked by. All the other tables where waited on hand and foot, asked how their food was and asked if they wanted water for the table. Not once was we asked how our food was. We had asked for table water as we was not offered, but we still hasn't received it after asking for some. Was was made to feel rushed the whole time as if they didn't really want us to be there. There was an added service change put onto the bill. People should be made aware and asked if that is something that they would like to do. This place seriously needs looking at and serious changes need to be made to their staff they clearly lack in customer service skills. I think they are judging people for what? We was made to feel very very extremely uncomfortable the whole time. I had emailed 3 days before regarding my wedding as I was planning on having a meal with close family after getting married but I will be taking my business elsewhere and I'm so glad I decided to go and experience this and was made aware of how they run now. Now it's been taken over it's not the same. Seriously will never ever be coming back here. I feel really let down by here. There a whole lot more I could go on about but I just want to make people aware you will not be welcomed kindly here and you might be made to feel out of place by all the staff. If you have any social anxiety issues or don't look the part. Do not go. You will not be welcomed and will be made to feel uncomfortable the whole duration.

Went to the Wake of an old friend, lovely venue and the food was lovely considering what it was for. Staff were excellent and very attentive. Hard to score 'atmosphere' given the occasion

What a wonderful day we had celebrating our wedding.our guests all commented on such a beautiful venue with such excellent service and the food couldn't have been better. My thanks ro Ryan and Cameron for looking after us on our big day, Steph and Holly from looking after arrangements and to all team, including the chefs and kitchen who all made our day so unforgettable. We cone often to The Manor for lunch and the staff. I hope you are all highly valued by your employers as you are all a great asset to company. Xx

Absolutely delicious..the only issue was there was no ice-cream in the Manor Sundae desert..which made it rather disappointing.. otherwise everyone else's puddings were fine

Beautiful restaurant. My husband and I visited the Manor last night.Mario,the manager looked after us so well. The food was delicious. The cheese soufflé was the best that I've ever had. I had a superb ribeye steak. My husband had the seafood salad followed by a tasty huge steak and mushroom pie with mashed potatoes and mushy peas. He enjoyed this very much. It certainly looked delicious. He was too full for a dessert as always I managed a lovely very chocolatey dessert. A lovely young girl served us,but Mario was always in the background making sure that everything was good for us.We will be back especially as there is a new menu coming up any day now.

Great atmosphere, delucious food and first rate service.

The first time we visited here just before Christmas was lovely. However, our most recent experience on Saturday was far from the same. The service was poor from the get-go. We arrived, and the waitress said there wasn’t a booking under my name even though I had received a confirmation of my booking. We were then told we couldn’t have a table until 7:45 pm when our booking was for 6:30 pm. We were not happy with that. We were then told we could eat at the bar. We were not happy with that either as it was my fiancées birthday. We finally got seated, and many of our drinks had been forgotten. We had to go up to the bar to collect our drinks as 20 minutes passed. My partner and I ordered starters, and the other two guests didn’t. The starter came Luke warm at best. After the starters, the main courses took well over an hour to arrive at the table. We have been left really disappointed by the evening from start to finish after having a good experience the first time we dined here.

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. The staff were polite and attentive. The food was well presented and the drinks were plentiful! The only "observation" I have, My Butter Chicken had the smallest cubes of chicken, about 5mm in size! Still tasted great though 👍

Booked afternoon tea to celebrate my mum's 90th birthday. We were seated promptly and settled down. Our waitress (Charmaine) was an absolute delight, wishing my mum a happy birthday. We ordered 2 glasses of Champagne for my mum and my wife to accompany the afternoon tea which was amazing. Midway through our waitress brought out a plate with a chocolate brownie on it with a lit candle and 'Happy Birthday ' on the plate in chocolate, my mum was thrilled.Thank you to all the team for making my mum's birthday so special.....

We went to the manor 1st weekend in Jan we had been wanting to go for a while since opened but just couldnt get a baby sitter we finally got one sorted and was really looking forward to it. We were sat right by the big doors at the back which is were tou could feel the cold it was ok at 1st but then as time went on it was getting worse no one came and did a food check once we had our food and found it hard to get anyones attention food went cold very quick because of this i also asked if there was another veg i could have instead of peas with my meal and i was pointed to the side dishes which i was a little disappointed about as i thought they would have been able to offer something else.? We then mentioned about the cold when we have a plates cleared and they then offered to move us which was a little too late and instead on desserts on them to compensate this sat some were else Just didnt get the vibe inwas expecting and was disappointed about the whole eve

Last night we went to the manor . Lovely venue . Food was very “nice”. Way over priced . Nearly £7 for three one inch tacos . £24 for the smallest bit of lamb and potatoes . But the service was out of this world . As in so far out of this world that we didn’t get any at all . We had not one person approach us . I had to find someone . Plenty of staff . But we were never asked not once . I found someone to take an order eventually. Then I had to go to the bar to ask for more drinks . I had to remove our dirty dishes and then watch the waiter walk by our drinks and ask the next table what they wanted for dessert . Young waiter in question had at the start of the eve ignored me waving him over . The young waiter and young waitress at one point I saw deliberately avoid me and at one time she hid behind a plant by the till . I know they saw me waive them over . They looked offended at my audacity .They both walked past us numerous times and were deliberately looking away to pretend they couldn’t see us . Just before leaving it was at last acknowledged and we were given a free drink. Too little too late .

Beautiful furnished with a nice atmosphere. Food is well presented but was disappointing at Christmas as very small portions and over priced. Dog friendly in parts and they cater for your fur babies with cushions and treats.

We visited on opening week last year and Tuesday this week was our first visit since. We arrived on time for our booking of 2 people. We seen the bell upon entry which says "ring for service", which we did. 5 minutes later, a staff member appeared and we were shown to our table. Our table was set for 4 people. The spare cutlery was never removed. The table was wobbly too which was annoying at times. 10 minutes into our visit and a table of 7 walked in. A further 5 minutes later, a staff member took the food and drinks order for the table of 7. We had clearly been forgotten about. A further 10 minutes later, the waiter that shown us to our table came over and asked if we'd been seen to yet. He seemed surprised we hadn't and apologised. He took our order for food and drinks. Menus were left on the table with the spare cutlery, after we had ordered. Our starters came to us after only a 10 minute wait. Unfortunately, still no sign of the drinks. The starters were very good. I had the Manuka Honey Glazed Fig With Burrata On Sourdough Toast. Only little niggle was the sourdough was only toasted on one side, so was a little doughy and not quite crisp enough. I still thoroughly enjoyed it though. The flavours were all there. My partner had the Salmon Roulade which she said was delicious. It certainly looked the part. No waiting staff performed any check backs on our food. Our drinks arrived as the starters were being cleared. Main courses - I had the Duck. Cooked to perfection, rested to perfection, seasoned to perfection. Well presented and thoroughly enjoyed. Again, only little niggle was the chestnut pieces were very tough. My partner had the Lamb which she said was perfect. Although we were both happy with our mains and had no complaints to make, again, no waiting staff checked to see if we were satisfied. Mains were cleared and we ordered desserts. I had the Christmas Bauble On Ice which I was very impressed with. I never usually have a dessert, but this isn't something you see very often. It looked the part and tasted phenomenal. The sticky toffee was perfect, also. We finished our desserts and drinks and we were still sat there with dirty plates on the table 20 minutes later, so i had to go to the bar and ask if I could pay our bill. We recall the service being poor on opening week but put it down to being a new business, unfortunately, it hasn't improved. We will return again for the food, but service needs bringing up to par.

Only popped in for drink to see what place was like. Luvly. Have booked to come back for meal. Place looks amazing. Complete change from years ago came back 2 weeks later for Birthday meals and celebs. Food fantastic. Miso chilli chicken. Scallops. Ooh. Luvly. Service staff great. Only gripe, but indecisive staff on entry/welcome. No one seems to know who to serve/ask for intro drinks. Otherwise Great. Thanks. 28/12/23 came here again. Wife's birthday. Ate here a few times, foods ok, a little over priced in my opinion, service at the bar could do with speeding up as well. Waited at least 5 mins to be served and the place wasnt that busy.

Visited for afternoon tea arriving at 14:30 on a Wednesday, the building is very nicely refurbished from what is used to be. On arriving we waited at the hosts station to be seated. There was a member of staff and a guest talking into a phone on loudspeaker settling some sort of dispute and after waiting for five minutes without being acknowledged we walked down to the bar. Another guest waiting at the bar also looked visibly annoyed and she said to me that she had been waiting a long time for her gin and tonics. We asked the bartender to seat us and we were taken to our table. We weren't offered any drinks as we were being seated and then we sat and waited for another 20 minutes until a waitress introduced herself as our server and took our order. The afternoon tea arrived about 15 minutes later which is no issue. The afternoon tea was ok and having loose leaf tea is always a bonus and the homemade mince pie was spot on. The finger sandwiches had developed that ever so slight crust when they've been left out too long but our waitress had already performed a check back before we had started eating so we couldn't share the feedback. One observation was a waitress was loading a tray of glasses and cutlery in front of the kitchen. She dropped a fork and it sat on the floor for a minute then instead of sending the fork to be washed, it was picked up and she set a table with it. Overall I did expect a better experience from somewhere that certainly looks to market itself towards the higher end of eateries considering the other restaurants within the group. I would like to return and give a second chance for the evening menu as the food that was coming out of the kitchen looked superb.

Came tonight, food lovely bit service awful.. had to wait then ask for drinks, menu , bill etc.. our friends dine there regularly and said they think it’s were we had been sat and had been “forgotten about” x

We had Sunday lunch with relations. The place was very busy so had to wait even though we had booked. Otherwise the service was excellent with plenty of staff about. The food was very good for all of us and plenty of it. I had roast belly pork, roasted potatoes and veg. All very tasty and the gravy was very rich and added a depth to the meal. I know we will be going back again.

What a delightful customer service experience and very tasty food we had at the manor. This is our second visit, and we left having booked a third visit whilst dining. Absolutely recommend it especially in winter with their cosy and welcoming atmosphere.

Thank you for everything. Accommodating a wheelchair. Allowing us time to settle. Helpfully serving our wheelchair user right after our female guest. The smiles and pleasant manner of all who served us. The attention to detail and exceptionally high hygiene standard. We noted that unused cutlery was put with used cutlery; all to be washed. The ambience, the decor, the well spaced tables; all contributed to a relaxed social event. The main event; our beautifully presented and equally delicious meals. Lamb that was succulent and tender with incredible flavour and accompanied by vegetables that enhanced the dish. One of our party had turkey which she described in glowing terms. We weren't overfazed by over large portions, they were perfect and colourful. The sweets were of course to the same high standard. We will be back!

Been before and food was excellent, 6 of us went on Sunday 22/10 to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Waited 30 minutes past out booked time before I had to get someone to show us to our table. Most of the staff very friendly. When the food arrived very disappointing £16 for a burger that was presented very badly. Two of my guests ordered the Sunday roast beef dinner. They were told the beef had all gone so had to settle for chicken. They then had the cheek to charge for the Yorkshire pudding as they had chicken and not beef. Atmosphere was excellent decor nice, just the food let them down. Also to automatically add a tip really annoyed me. I want the right to add the tip not the restaurant. I won’t rush back, but don’t suppose the Manor will be that bothered. UPDATE - since my comments above we have revisited The Manor. On this occasion we had exemplary service the the food excellent. Thank you to all the staff

A wonderful lunch. The staff were attentive to our needs without being intrusive. They were friendly and welcoming and didn't make us rush, so we had a wonderful afternoon reconnecting with family.

From first entering the premises the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff were courteous and also offered up suggestions from the menu which were warmly received and delicious. Our whole party left wirh a feeling of a great experience. Definitely recommend.

Manor opened in the function suite for Christmas/Boxing Day lunch while refurb going on in main restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious with several choices for each course. The room was beautifully decorated, nice music, good atmosphere and very helpful staff. Looking forward to main restaurant re opening in April. A very,very nice Christmas lunch !

The Manor has closed !!! Have walked past a lot and building work seems to have stopped too. The roof is being re-done.
