The Manor in Wirral

Enjoyed an exceptional family meal celebrating a 75th birthday with 20 of our family. The meal was fantastic, everyone complimented how tasty, filling, hot and value for money it was, everyone was served together and the atmosphere was lovely. Beverly and the team were so attentive and helped make the occasion extra special. Thanks to The Manor team, I would highly recommend the restaurant for any kind of celebration.

1st time visit , what a surprise, it was fabulous, my roast lamb was delicious with the crispiest roast potatoes this year , my wife described her fish and chips as amazing.. service was superb, there was a large party in the bar when we arrived and the waiter moved us to a quieter table, despite it being very busy.. will be trying again next week..

I booked a table with my friends for afternoon tea in July this year. The restaurant was very clean and beautiful inside, the toilets were lovely too. However we booked afternoon tea and it was very disappointing. It was £23.00 per head and it was a waste of money. We all had one sandwich each per person, there was four people in total. I expected to get a more sandwiches, we ordered vegertarian sandwiches for a couple of my friends who were sharing and they brought out ham sandwiches instead. The staff were not attentive and because the restaurant was very busy it was not easy to get a member of staff to help us. About an hour and half into the afternoon tea I asked the waitress to bring over our pot of tea. The waitress said because my friends were having cold drinks she didnt think we wanted a pot of tea. Towards the end of the afternoon I ordered a cup of coffee and the waiter forgot to bring it to me. I complained a few days later in person, the next day the manager phoned me and apologised for the lack of sandwiches and said he had passed on my comments to the chef. The manager did not suggest or offer us a voucher towards another afternoon tea. I would not go back to this restaurant again. Very poor service.

Having been to the Manor several times before we had no hesitation in booking to go again. The decor, ambience, and waiting on staff were professional, courteous and respectful. However, sadly on this occasion we were let down by the kitchen staff as the meals were not up to their usual standard. The lamb was grisly and the potatoes were cold. When we mentioned it to staff the plate was simply put in the microwave and returned a few minutes later. Another meal said hand cut chips, which I thought would be like home made ones but they were more like oven chips which I don’t like. The third meal was a piece of oven baked salmon on a bed of hollandaise sauce with very scarce vegetables. The salmon was placed upside down on the plate showing the black skin underside. This was supposed to be an anniversary treat that cost a lot of money and turned out to be extremely disappointing.

This place has a great atmosphere. Service and food were great. We also went for lunch and had their pizza which we highly recommend.

Fantastic Sunday roast and superb service. The four of us were blown away by the great food we eat and we look forward to going back to try some of the other dishes on offer. We had the arancini, chicken tacos and beetroot salad to start. All really tasty. My wife is pescitarian and ordered the nut roast. She says it's the best she's ever had. My turkey dinner was amazing too as was the wine (Amarone) which the manager offered to decant for us. We ordered 3 different desserts between the 4 of us and all were delicious too. The atmosphere was great with many other families enjoying Sunday dinner together and despite the restaurant being so busy the service was great. Staff are very polite and service comes with a smile. Highly recommend.

Visited here today with my family for my birthday. Picked this venue as I have previously visited the Fishpool Inn. I had the Steak Ale and Mushroom pie which was excellent but I was disappointed with my wife's Burger. She asked for it well done and it was not. For the price of it I felt it looked like it was just a frozen burger not home made. I felt the service from the staff was unfriendly and rushed even though it was not busy. Felt like as this was the first time visiting this place and not regulars we were treated differently. Also the Facebook page advertises a free child's meal with a full paying adult main meal. As we never selected this at booking stage we never got this deal, feel it should be done automatically. All in all was disappointed with my visit here.

A lovely restaurant which has been totally transformed inside. This is now a gastro style eatery and not the fine dining experience it used to be. Service can be slow.

Must try this place at least once for a nice meal out. Very pricey but the quality of food makes it slightly worth your visit. I'm vegetarian and unfortunately there were only 2 non-pizza options for me - mushroom burger or this onion pasty (pic). I can't tolerate mushrooms so left me with only one option... Definitely would recommend ordering a side of chips otherwise you'll be starving. Starters are expensive and small quantities. Could really do with more vegetarian options for the price you pay... Also of you want quantity, go elsewhere. On the contrary, the appearance of restaurant such as the tables, cutlery, washrooms are absolutely beautiful too. Wish my house looked like it!

An hour late taken to our prebooked table, despite all preordering food 2 guests where left waiting until others had finished their meal. Some not all staff where quite frankly rude (it's obvious when they are hovering waiting for you to leave). Food was lovely though and decent sized portions. As a first experience in this establishment which my family has always loved? Maybe it was an off day? I wouldnt go again to be honest.

What an amazing place! We hadn't booked for Sunday lunch but were welcomed so warmly into this beautiful place with stunning decor. We had dogs with us and this was not an issue at all, in fact the host clearly adores animals and made sure to fuss over our two so they enjoyed the visit too! The roasts were so delicious, had good sized portions and arrived quickly. I had a mocktail pina colada which was just like the real thing, so creamy. We did order desert which was also nice and very filling but while taking a breather this was taken away by a waiter before we realised. Regardless we would definitely be back.

Hands down best rost dinner beef was so tender veg was cooked perfectly. The service 10 out 10

Little disappointed with The Manor. I am in the UK at Xmas and wanted to arrange a surprise meal at The Manor for my wife and her family who are locals (14 total). My wife grew up there and had always spoken positively about the location. I have no problem paying a booking deposit given the size of the group, but was then told everyone in the party had to book in their starter and main meals 3 days prior. I explained this wasn’t practical given it is a surprise and asked for flexibility and the response was that they could allow flexibility for one person… Looking at their policy, I am able to book 2 x tables of 7 without this requirement (and I guess could request them next to each other) – but given I'd be spending best part of a thousand pounds on the evening, I just don’t feel I should be compromising based on a policy (which while understandable, should have some flexibility for situations like this). I will now start the process of looking at other local restaurants and I encourage The Manor to be a little open to flexibility for reasonable guest requests such as this.

Food was amazing. The service was also amazing, and I will be back again! 💯

Myself and my partner had the slow cooked braised shoulder of lamb. You may have to forgive my ignorance here but this is how I see it. The potatoes and spinach were cold, the lamb fillets were cold ( is this how they are supposed to be served?). The chunky chips were at best warm. I had the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, again the sponge was tepid and for me, this was like no other sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever eaten, it was a chocolate sponge cake with perhaps a toffee sauce🤷‍♂️. I’ve dined here on a couple of occasions in the past and food was lovely and no confusion with, is it supposed to be cold. Other than that, the place and staff are lovely. I didn’t complain, I just ate it. My partner a typical English lady doesn’t like to complain, so here I am now🤷‍♂️

The food was fabulous. The only thing that let it down was the service. One waitress went on her break which resulted in the area we were sitting in not being monitored by other staff despite him being told to cover the area . We sat in front of the serving area and seen our puddings sitting there for 20 minutes & the chefs ringing the bell 3 times before we were served finally by the French (I think) waiter/maitre d who had to step in and rectify this issue for us (he was fabulous by the way) we then had to sit for even longer waiting to catch someone's attention to request the bill which again took a while to receive. £75 was spent & its a shame the service wasn't fully upto scratch.

Had an amazing evening for a private 70th birthday at The Barn ..The whole evening was superb . Great venue , amazing food and menu choices , the staff and service were superb . Particularly loved the fact that we had individual printed menu choices on the table so the staff knew what we had chosen and didn't need to ask . 10 / 10 ..

The souffle is out of this world and best pork belly I've had.

Lovely book club meal out at the Manor made extra special by our engaging, attentive and highly amusing waiter Nick who was a breath of fresh air and a fellow book worm.

We went here yesterday, absolutely beautiful food, lovely atmosphere, cannot fault the place, will be going back. The place was full, but once sat at ur table you would never know, no delayed service and was enough floor space to feel like you were just with your group, love what they have done to the place.

Nice meal, drinks very expensive (but they are everywhere) good atmosphere. Not the cheapest but very pretty inside and the toilets are amazing! Most notable is the service, which was impeccable.

We went to celebrate 3 special family birthday's. The food was good the service was poor, Never was asked if everything was ok, we had to remind staff for drinks of water. They brought out the birthday cake to the table, sang happy birthday then told us we couldn't cut the cake which was really upsetting. Then to add insult they asked if we would like the dessert menu. We all declined on principle have so far spent a substantial amount of money so far. There appears to be no looking forward with a view of a regular booking of 13 people going for meals. They instead spoiled the day and have lost any further bookings, as am sure others will feel the same was as we all did.

Fantastic restaurant, lovely food, great service. Everything was really tasty, and of high quality. Had two small "for the table* starters (which were huge), I had the steak and ale pie with chunky chips which was amazing, and my wife had the fish pie which also looked fabulous. We will be back. We popped in without a reservation on Thursday 28th March afternoon, we were quickly sat down and served with the most delicious steak burger, we both thoroughly enjoyed the food! Waiting staff were very pleasant despite being extremely busy!

This would be 5 stars for the fish and chips . But unfortunately I had the pork roast dinner. It was so awful but I guess if I had have gone in the day time it might of been lovely. It felt it had been standing all day . The veg was awful. The gravy was like water . Probably one of the worst roast dinners I have tasted . But in all fairness if it was freshly cooked it potentially could of been lovely. That I will never know . I didn't want money of the bill . I wanted the manager, /asst manager not to be so rude . Shrugged me off when I politely told him the my roast dinner wasn't that good. He walked off . I just wanted to show him my plate of food and how bad it was . Very quietly I must add. Unbelievable. So sad that I was really looking forward to my first experience there . Very unprofessional.

On arrival a lovely young lady asked us had we booked which we had. Then an obnoxious man talked over her & showed us to our table. I believe he is the assistant manager,who could really do with taking hospitality lessons from our lovely FRIENDLY Pleasant waitress. Food lovely no problem.

Mum's 70th birthday 🎂 🥳 party 🥳 had section ( conservatory) to our selves x staff very accommodating pleasant 💖 good price for amount of people + kids and baby 👶 food was well done and just over all fantastic experience 😊 can't fault anything xx

Today's wedding reception was at The Manor in Greasby. I hope they have a wonderful evening. Back again for another wedding. With one of our Imperial Viscount Landaulette's with a matching Daimler Limousine.

The photos show you the level of quality that this Manor provides with each meal and their attention to detail from the interior is just as amazing. A great place to eat and would highly recommend a visit.

Brilliant experience at The Manor for us. The food was outstanding so compliments to the chef but our evening was truly made special by Charlie, our waitress, who went the extra mile to make sure we and our pooch Lemmy, had a great night. Held my mother in laws wake in The Barn, which is part of the Manor. It was so good we have now booked our 50th wedding anniversary party in July. The venue, the staff, the food excellent.

Saturday 2nd March 2024. Great Evening in The Barn at The Manor Greasby. Dan Hadfield gave a magnificent performance for a fully involved audience, following a very enjoyable meal. What a great night; Gary Barlow can be well assured that his reputation is in safe hands with Dan Hadfield, whose Tribute to Gary is first class. The evening was a sellout and Dan’s performance made it a night to remember. Let’s hope that he is back in Greasby before too long. Thanks to the Manor Events Team and all staff on duty for their professional and considerate attention on the night.

3 of us had the afternoon tea. Omg it was gorgeous. Especially for me the fresh fruit little tartlets mmm. We will definitely be back.

Edit to say I emailed the manager as they commented to below on the same day they asked and I have yet to hear back... Shows exactly how much they care and lack in customer service. I really wouldn't waste my time here. Honestly wouldn't come back here. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was dreadful. We arrived and was looked at as if we shouldn't or don't belong in the place. We was then shown to our table (the naughty corner) or what felt like the naughty corner. Constantly getting disgusting looks at all the staff as they walked by. All the other tables where waited on hand and foot, asked how their food was and asked if they wanted water for the table. Not once was we asked how our food was. We had asked for table water as we was not offered, but we still hasn't received it after asking for some. Was was made to feel rushed the whole time as if they didn't really want us to be there. There was an added service change put onto the bill. People should be made aware and asked if that is something that they would like to do. This place seriously needs looking at and serious changes need to be made to their staff they clearly lack in customer service skills. I think they are judging people for what? We was made to feel very very extremely uncomfortable the whole time. I had emailed 3 days before regarding my wedding as I was planning on having a meal with close family after getting married but I will be taking my business elsewhere and I'm so glad I decided to go and experience this and was made aware of how they run now. Now it's been taken over it's not the same. Seriously will never ever be coming back here. I feel really let down by here. There a whole lot more I could go on about but I just want to make people aware you will not be welcomed kindly here and you might be made to feel out of place by all the staff. If you have any social anxiety issues or don't look the part. Do not go. You will not be welcomed and will be made to feel uncomfortable the whole duration.

Went to the Wake of an old friend, lovely venue and the food was lovely considering what it was for. Staff were excellent and very attentive. Hard to score 'atmosphere' given the occasion

What a wonderful day we had celebrating our wedding.our guests all commented on such a beautiful venue with such excellent service and the food couldn't have been better. My thanks ro Ryan and Cameron for looking after us on our big day, Steph and Holly from looking after arrangements and to all team, including the chefs and kitchen who all made our day so unforgettable. We cone often to The Manor for lunch and the staff. I hope you are all highly valued by your employers as you are all a great asset to company. Xx

Absolutely delicious..the only issue was there was no ice-cream in the Manor Sundae desert..which made it rather disappointing.. otherwise everyone else's puddings were fine

Beautiful restaurant. My husband and I visited the Manor last night.Mario,the manager looked after us so well. The food was delicious. The cheese soufflé was the best that I've ever had. I had a superb ribeye steak. My husband had the seafood salad followed by a tasty huge steak and mushroom pie with mashed potatoes and mushy peas. He enjoyed this very much. It certainly looked delicious. He was too full for a dessert as always I managed a lovely very chocolatey dessert. A lovely young girl served us,but Mario was always in the background making sure that everything was good for us.We will be back especially as there is a new menu coming up any day now.

Great atmosphere, delucious food and first rate service.

The first time we visited here just before Christmas was lovely. However, our most recent experience on Saturday was far from the same. The service was poor from the get-go. We arrived, and the waitress said there wasn’t a booking under my name even though I had received a confirmation of my booking. We were then told we couldn’t have a table until 7:45 pm when our booking was for 6:30 pm. We were not happy with that. We were then told we could eat at the bar. We were not happy with that either as it was my fiancées birthday. We finally got seated, and many of our drinks had been forgotten. We had to go up to the bar to collect our drinks as 20 minutes passed. My partner and I ordered starters, and the other two guests didn’t. The starter came Luke warm at best. After the starters, the main courses took well over an hour to arrive at the table. We have been left really disappointed by the evening from start to finish after having a good experience the first time we dined here.

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. The staff were polite and attentive. The food was well presented and the drinks were plentiful! The only "observation" I have, My Butter Chicken had the smallest cubes of chicken, about 5mm in size! Still tasted great though 👍

Booked afternoon tea to celebrate my mum's 90th birthday. We were seated promptly and settled down. Our waitress (Charmaine) was an absolute delight, wishing my mum a happy birthday. We ordered 2 glasses of Champagne for my mum and my wife to accompany the afternoon tea which was amazing. Midway through our waitress brought out a plate with a chocolate brownie on it with a lit candle and 'Happy Birthday ' on the plate in chocolate, my mum was thrilled.Thank you to all the team for making my mum's birthday so special.....

We went to the manor 1st weekend in Jan we had been wanting to go for a while since opened but just couldnt get a baby sitter we finally got one sorted and was really looking forward to it. We were sat right by the big doors at the back which is were tou could feel the cold it was ok at 1st but then as time went on it was getting worse no one came and did a food check once we had our food and found it hard to get anyones attention food went cold very quick because of this i also asked if there was another veg i could have instead of peas with my meal and i was pointed to the side dishes which i was a little disappointed about as i thought they would have been able to offer something else.? We then mentioned about the cold when we have a plates cleared and they then offered to move us which was a little too late and instead on desserts on them to compensate this sat some were else Just didnt get the vibe inwas expecting and was disappointed about the whole eve
