Decent fish & chips but waaaay overpriced. I'd never paid over £10 for a standard fish, chips and mushy peas in Manchester before this.

! ¡Gracias!

Went for lunch last weekend at suburb, heard really good things about it so wanted to try. As soon as we walked in the vibe was off, we weren’t acknowledge at all and when we asked for menus they told us where they were so we could grab them ourself! and when we grabbed the menus she said rudely you need to order and pay at the bar even though every other person was served at there table. When we went upto the bar to order the lady behind the bar, Vicky was so rude i was shocked. When i paid i realised they charged me the service charge without asking me, if they asked i would of payed it anyway but they never mentioned it and charged me the service charge when we weren’t even served! the only nice thing i can say is the food was okay and one young girl called layla who was the only member of staff who treated us like actual customers!

We stopped off on our way back to Wales. The service and food were excellent. I can very much recommend the gammon steak with pineapple, mushroom, egg and tomato on top. I would not normally order that, but it was spot on. Thank you to the staff and chef for a superb lunch.

I visited Crewe on Saturday with my son after looking around a local university and wow so glad we did! The food was amazing, we were seen to our table by a very friendly gentleman who gave us all the information and let us know our lovely waitress Luiza would be with us shortly, she was so kind felt genuinely like she wanted you to have a nice evening food recommendations were great, we had the butchers block to share omg I’m so glad my son was there to help eat it was huge! A great range of sides included you have to try the Camembert mashed potato!!! The steak was very well cooked medium rare as we asked for we would definitely come back and prices are so reasonable for what you get. I also had the dessert combo they have which is a great idea! A coffee and mini dessert for £6.25 which I thought was great and a lovely end to the dinner.

Friendly service, excellent coffee and a delicious lunch. The setting is lovely! The room at the back is airy and light. We had a snack lunch which was so good I’d eaten it before I remembered to take pictures. A good range of choices on the menu and the cakes look amazing. Altogether a great experience.

Whilst the pub looks very nice from the outside, the staff are very friendly, and the rooms OK, I did have a few serious reservations: 1) The hotel is unstaffed at night, which gave me an uneasy feeling. What if there was a fire or a medical emergency? 2) Breakfast consisted of an indifferent buffet (presumably laid out the previous night). However, there was not only no way of making any real coffee, and the only milk available had turned, meaning that cereal was off the menu. 3) Although it’s a Robinson’s pub, they do not stock the whole range of beers, not even in bottles, the most notable absence being Old Tom (which, to me, is the only palatable Robinson’s ale). 4) The car park is extremely small and badly laid out, reducing the number of spaces even further, meaning that on-street parking is the only option.

Ever since we discovered this place following our daughters wedding at Colshaw Hall round the corner and owned by the same family. Living close by, we've had many lunches at The Dog and its always a great atmosphere with good food and wines as well as friendly dogs in a separate bar area. It's in a lovely area and although it's not cheap it's always busy with a good mixed clientele. Our daughter booked it for us to celebrate our wedding anniversary and told the staff that it was a special occasion. I wasn't looking for any special favours and we got our usual seat, but I was disappointed for my wife that not one member of staff mentioned our anniversary. We called by Colshaw hall en route to reminisce about the wedding and met the owner who seemed delighted to see us and that I'd remembered his and his daughter name after 9 years , since the wedding. Old school I guess. Sadly my wife doesn't want to go back to The Dog. Pity but like the owner of Colshaew Hall it doesn't take much to make people feel special..

Not for the first time time were we charged more for items listed on the table menu (£2 in total!) Decided not to question this as it caused such a problem on the previous occasion. The food was good and reasonably priced. However, we witnessed 'kitchen' staff (without any headgear covering hair) eating their own lunches in the serving area and one member of staff 'helping' chips onto the plate with fingers. Unsure we will return. This cafe, tucked behind a shop, has so much potential but needs the assistance of Mary Portas to make it a 'go to' welcoming and thriving place.

Great food as usual, shame had to listen to both background music in the dining area and a conflicting radio blaring from the kitchen. Either turn the kitchen radio down or close the door 🤬
