Galleon Cafe in Blackpool

20 minute wait for hot chocolates and latte drinks. Filthy toilets filthy all inside. Cold drinks! Would not recommend. Not fast service at all. Cafe near enough empty

Went into the cafe today fabulous food, will definitely recommend to others looking for a family/dogs/friendly cafe. I had the tuna on crusty bread with chips and then a scone with a pot of tea.

Called in this morning for breakfast with the family, the staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic, short wait for food, it came out hot and well cooked, great prices and great choices, 10/10

grate littel cafe good food reasonabel prices went both days of our visit they was haveing a few staffing issus but coped very well under preasher will defo be going back again 100% thank you

Just been in for my breakfast, galleon and large. Tea in pots!!!! Lovely surroundings. As per previous reviews only saw one of the brothers, and the ladies. Definitely well worth a visit, for anyone in Blackpool

Been here with my nephew for breakfast. Speedy service, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, very friendly prices. Seems like a spot for locals, patrons recognised each other and chatted across tables.

Had breakfast in this lovely little cafe. We’d been here previously a year or so back and wanted to see if it was still there. We found it and it didn’t disappoint. We greeted with the cafe owner bringing or little dog a bowl of water and sliced sausage which he loved. We tried the beans on toast, cheese on toast and breakfast sandwich all of which were served promptly and of a high standard. I didn’t take any pictures but I can confidently say the food was delicious. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a good place to go for breakfast.

Came here today. We were both met by lovely staff ( Teresa) and felt welcomed. We ordered a breakfast with tea and toast which came out hot and tasty Welsh lad in the kitchen did the cooking . Nice atmosphere and very reasonable prices for a traditional Blackpool breakfast. Highly recommended.

Came here our first day in Blackpool, had two breakfasts. It was the best cooked breakfast we have had in a long time. The staff are happy and welcoming. Loved it so much we came back the next day.

Toilets & baby changing on 1st floor. SPACIOUS & outdoor tables. @ local's prices. Very good wellcome. Close to the central Pier. Used by Families, groups' local's. Kids & dogs wellcome, adults tolerated. Good atmosphere. Card or cash. Cheap carpark at rear.

Me, my boyfriend and his family came here on our last day in blackpool. The man who served us was lovely and so was the food. However, we were all made to feel unsafe when the owner, Michael, came over to us in an aggressive manner after we had finished eating our food. This happened because we were talking about a tile that fell off the roof (which almost hit my boyfriend’s step brother). Michael denied the occurence and blamed it on the building next door. He called my partners step brother a ‘liar’ and a ‘trouble causer’ then proceeded to tell us all to get out. At first, i thought he was joking. I realised this wasn’t the case when michael came and dragged me off my chair aggressively. This left me in shock and was very dangerous as I’m currently pregnant. We were then told that he has dementia (which we were unaware of). The man who served us apologised for Michael’s behaviour. However, I believe this is a big danger within the cafe and customers SHOULD be notified about the owner’s disability for safety reasons. This spoiled our time in blackpool, which was very dissapointing sadly.

Galleon Cafe Blackpool. Been before, what a change!!! New decor, pictures, tables, even down to the menus and s/p pots. Breakfasts excellent, tea/coffee really hot. (Food definitely better than a previous visit, with oily fried bread and bacon) what a transformation. Recommend the Galleon breakfast and cheese on crusty toast. Be back when the illuminations are on. 5 stars *****

Been on our usual night out in Blackpool, was told about a cafe called the Galleon, just up from Central Pier. I will list: Food- Wonderful, Fresh, Hot, Tasty. Drinks- large choice, Chocolate Milkshake with ice cream, etc. Apperience - Clean, Great Pics, Nice coloured walls, matching table cloths, clean bathroom. Staff - Fabulous, Friendly, nothing a problem. Visit again- YES YES YES. (Visited Saturday 30th March- 11am)

Walked in on Easter Saturday at 9am, thinking it would be quiet, was I wrong, had trouble finding a table!! We ordered a large breakfast and poached eggs on toast. AMAZING. Tasty food, hot plates, great drinks. The chef, was brilliant, only saw him for a short while, to produce such brilliant and well presented food, under such conditions. I know one thing, we will be going for Breakfast Sunday morning and Monday morning. The cafe is very much worth a visit, such friendly staff and clean and tidy, nothing was too much trouble.

Fantastic breakfast, 3 galleons and a large, came with pot of tea, coffee and orange juices. Hot tasty food, great pictures and decor. Got to know the staff. Friendly bunch, thanks to Nigel. Tim. Teresa. and Chef (?) Definitely worth a visit if in central Blackpool. See you soon. Also rock shop and charity shop next door.

Visited the cafe Galleon for Breakfast and Beverages the bill came to £50. There was a middle aged Lady front of house who seemed to be running around and doing nearly everything she was a lovely lady and very pleasant and attentive. The food was lovely compliments to the chef and Lady on front of house im sure her name was Theresa. We had a long Journey home ahead of us so we was chilling and drinking or beverages when approached by an elderly man who tried to take away our drinks which we hadnt finished. He shouted at my son because he was in his way. He was very rude and smelly. Such a shame because everything else was 10/10.

Fantastic cafe, just up from Central Pier, was recommended by local dog walker. Cafe being painted, but clean and well kept, new table cloths, food prepared well, hot plates, tea pots, special cutlery for my daughter. Great atmosphere, very tall guy served us, he was so cheerful and couldn’t do enough! Looked after the dog with sausage/water bowl. Highly worth a visit, see you later in the summer

We had family over and went into the gallon however it was lovely staff was lovely and really took good care of you

Good cafe for breakfast or similar, tatty inside, tables, decor, counter. A very large man was serving with the smallest apron, looked odd. Food and service was fine would use again but need to spend a bit of money on place.

Lovely little 'Oldy Worldy' Café, I had the breakfast, it was very good, good quality produce cooked with love 👌

The cafe was smelly because peolme walked I. Smelling health hazard and the the food was horrible and cold wouldn't never eat there again

Been coming here for a long time unfortunately I will be going elsewhere in future cold bacon and sausage milk and coffee rings left on the glass on the table from past customers. A little bit picky here you get half a slice of black pudding that's been sliced on a bacon slicer toast already buttered straight on your plate better to let the customer do that as I don't like margarine. Sorry about this review I can only be honest. The cup of tea was good though fried bread was just soggy.

Amazing, brilliant staff. Friendly customers. Too notch. Arrived to a warm welcoming atmosphere, spotlessly clean. Love the menus under the glass. A lady running the place on her own with one chef, she kept apologising for potential delays but there weren’t any. The food was impeccable, hot, tasty and quick. Excellent banter. Nothing was too much trouble. Building work going on just down the road and this is clearly their favourite cafe. Amazing when one of the builders after ordering, started clearing the tables to help out. Underestimated staff and customers. Committed and friendly. Couldn’t have asked for me. I can see why people were coming here for their 2nd/3rd/100th visit. A huge thumbs up for me. Thank you

First time coming to this cafe, I shall return next time I visit Blackpool. Food was really nice, especially for the price. The service was amazing. Especially Teresa and Yvonne credit to the business

Popped in for breakfast as I had a craving for a full hot English. I wasn’t disappointed - was served by the proprietor himself, the charming Nigel, who was courtesy personified. The food arrived in double quick time, was piping hot & astonishingly good value. I’m a bit fussy with my eggs and always ask for them to be cooked on both sides - “easy over” I think it’s called in the USA - & this was done with pleasure. True, it’s probably not the most upmarket cafe in Blackpool, but it’s a real labour of love for the owners - and it shows. 10/10.

We had breakfast as a family, the food was fantastic really hot, place clean, staff welcoming, tall gentleman waited on our table, was very funny, the experience was great. See you again next time

5 Star rating on the door / window as you walk in don't let that tempt you in, the place is a disgrace, dirty toilet, the breakfasts look like they were put together like a 5 year old on school holidays, eggs were sloppy (hardly cooked) bacon greasy, sausage the skin hard as rock, and the mushrooms were black and tasted disgusting the only good thing about this cafe is the door on the way out be sure not to use it to go in.

I have been coming to Blackpool for many many years and have used this cafe on many occasions. The cafe had always served up good food but this time it was dreadful food just eatable (lukewarm) seems no care had been taken in its preparation just thrown on a plate and sent out. Dirty floor and dirty toilets no idea how the local council have given this place a food rating of 5 seems like they need to return to the cafe and no wonder the cafe was empty when 100's of people were on the street outside maybe they knew something I didnt

We had brekkie this morning (10/09/23) By the time we’d walked in there it was to embarrassing to walk out. The place is grubby and dirty. Wasn’t looking forward to the food. But looked ok when we seen others plates. Staff were welcoming and friendly. And a lady cleaning tables. Toilet was disgusting. Urine or water not sure all over the floor. Dirty mop and bucket stunk awful. Breakfast came out, it was lukewarm which was a shame. Sausage needs changing it was the cheapest rusk filled sausage you can buy. It ruined the breakfast to be honest. Such a shame as there nearly there but the place needs a renovation it’s obviously popular and I can kinda see why to a small degree. We’re not all as fussy as us. Hope they take this criticism on board. If we don’t get food poisoning we consider it a successful trip!!!

So we ordered 3 large Breakfasts wish we had not bothered now burnt eggs round the edges and sloppy bacon looked and tasted only half cooked the sausages looked like they had been cooked many times before beans looked liked they had just been thrown in a pan from the day before had that kind of brown look to them and the fried bread had to hunt it down the slice was so small overall if i could give it a zero i would do not visit this cafe

Really friendly and welcoming. Loving the seaside theme with all the bunting. Large teapots with lovely hot tea, warm fresh scones with cream. What's not to like?

Went in today, had sandwiches x2 and bacon butties x1. Great food and place. Opener cleaning his windows, whilst a guy sitting at another table, keep laughing and ribbing him. What a wonderful friendly cafe. See you again soon

Fantastic Sunday lunch, main and a pudding. Great cakes. Ordered at the counter, food cooked very well and hot, delivered by wonderful staff. Only had to ask, nothing to much bother

Fantastic mid morning food stop, everything well cooked and the staff were very helpful and looked after me. It’s a real gem of a place. If you’re in Blackpool, it’s the place to go. Will definitely tell my friends

Visited for breakfast food was okay service good but extremely disappointed with cleanliness of cafe and hygiene practices of some staff definitely won’t be back

I would have gave this 0 stars if I could, where do I begin, every single sauce bottle on the tables had 100s of flies on them. There was a hair in my coffee, the place clearly isn’t getting cleaned and the women was rude and arrogant. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy!

Staff weren't very friendly, moaning as there was a few of us and they couldn't even get our food orders right, other customers moaning as they couldn't buy just a drink they had to buy food if they wanted to sit in, I wouldn't have minded but spending £50 in there and most orders be wrong

Always used to use this cafe when we visited Blackpool. Unfortunately the portion sizes have got smaller and the price a lot higher.

The visit was quite by chance as I was looking for breakfast! Best breakfast ever! Went back everyday! Staff were great!

Visited the Galleon today with my partner & 14 month old baby. The staff were great! So friendly & hospitable, and had a lot of time for my son (who is in a habit of throwing food out of his high chair!) Food was great and very reasonably priced. 5*

The staff and owners were really nice and bonuses that you can take in the dogs, food average but at a semi reasonable price. We paid £6.50 for a small breakfast each, where you get one of each but no bean, tomatoes or even bread and butter. But guess you're paying the sea side tax. Would recommend and eat there again.

Possibly one of the friendliest cafes I've ever been in.... the staff always have a warm welcome, are very chatty and have a great sense of humour. A large and well priced menu and absolute fabulous decor depicting old Blackpool... thanks for the warm welcome every visit..... if there is one place to stop for breakfast, lunch or just a quick snack then The Galleon Cafe is the place to head..... a must for every visit........

Found this little gem by chance, nice surroundings, had a really good veggie breakast and a great cup of tea and very reasonable prices. Most of all the staff were very friendly, happy and looked like they enjoyed working there - makes all the difference, would definitely come back/ recommend.

Had a well cooked breakfast there with the maunby group. But they had no toasted crusts? So where did the top and bottom of their loaves go?

We always pop in for a fry up when we come to Blackpool it really sets you up for the day great friendly service and nothing is to much trouble breakfast is very filling and they always have a laugh when me and my husband...

What a fantastic hidden gem this cafe is. Nigel is an awesome cook and the breakfasts are amazing and great value. Cheaper than Wetherspoons. Traditional cafe that is clean, bright rainbows everywhere and he always has time to be genuinely interested in your life. He always adds laughter and conversations to our day which helps in such uncertain times. A very positive chap who brightens our day every time we go in. Good quality ingredients and hot food. Drive from Bradford to Blackpool with the family this morning and knew I wanted breakfast on arrival. Came here ordered myself the small breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it, Simple full of flavour and a homely experience if you want to feel like your at your local cafe come here.

What a lovely find just off the promenade. Lovely food, fantastic value, quick efficient service and the most welcoming staff we met all the time we were here. Cant recommend it enough and I'm a fussy sod !!
