What a welcoming, hospitable place. If you ever need cheering up, this is the place to go. We were made welcome immediately, and tony the owner had us in stiches from the start. Everyone there were so friendly, and what had started as an intended short visit, led to us staying to closing. Met some brilliant characters, who all just made our day. Dog friendly too, which was an added bonus to us. Can't recommend enough.

This is a fantastic wee place. We were in Seahouses a couple of weeks ago and visited the cafe a few times for breakfast. The staff are really friendly and helpful and always seem to be in a good humour. Service is pretty quick too . The full English is seriously good, thoroughly enjoyable. Got to say that the sausage and black pudding are really tasty, as is everything else in the breakfast really. Will definitely be back for a return visit

Here’s a review you could consider: “My brother, dad, and I visit this pub every Saturday afternoon, and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is always welcoming, with a warm, community feel. Sam, one of the managers, truly goes above and beyond. She’s friendly, attentive, and makes sure every visit is enjoyable. The staff as a whole are excellent, and the drinks selection is spot on. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed afternoon, and we always leave with a smile. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a friendly, local pub experience!”

The cafe has a terrific position just under the old walls with a handy carpark on the doorstep and marvellous views over Tweed estuary, the sea and the famous three bridges that span the mouth of the river at this historic spot. We opted for the fresh crab open sandwich (£13.90) which was very generous with delicious sweet white and dark fresh crabmeat, plenty of interesting salad and good bread. As it was a sunny day all the outside tables were already taken but we were comfortable inside. A very tempting display of cakes and desserts also beckoned, so we indulged in the triple cream layered Victoria sandwich. Good coffee, interesting tea selection, pleasant table service. A great discovery, we will definitely return.

Fresh , tasty and served exquisitely. I've visited here several times and it's a beacon of quality and charm in amongst the over priced coffee chains and ' caffs' in the town centre centre. I had the mashed avocado with poached eggs . The bread was fresh and top quality and the avocado was fresh and generously prese.ted with two perfect poached eggs . The balsamic swirls and chilli flakes set it all off perfectly .

A lovely little gem, warm atmosphere and warm home cooked food. Lovely service, extremely quick but not felt rushed. There were 5 of us and we ordered a variety of dishes from starters mains and puddings. Big portions for a good price and served hot.

Absolutely dreadful meal Went for a birthday meal with my family Basic menu, waited 45 minutes for our meal and only one girl on the bar and serving I ordered lasagne that was burnt and dried out and the pasta was like mashed potato, the garlic bread was also burnt and the salad was swimming in dressing My husband ordered steak pie that was full of salt and the vegetables were hard My son and daughter in law ordered the burger which was a cheap tasting burger with cheese and loads of garlic they ended up leaving it The food was served by an harassed kitchen staff and when we looked in the kitchen it looked unclean and chaotic

Two course lunch gifted to us as an anniversary present. Arrived on time, no one there to greet us for five minutes. Lunch was nice especially the starter. Unfortunately there wasn’t much atmosphere, though I think that was because it was early 12.30.

I walked to Barnard Castle one lunch time and popped in for a bite to eat. There’s a big choice on the menu and a list of specials. I had the chicken and asparagus pie with veg and chips and it was delicious. My only observation would be that the service was a bit slow but I wasn’t in a hurry.
