Fantastic Sunday lunch, once of the best a round, fabulous food and friendly staff, will definitely be back ☺️

We spent a week with friends up near Bamburgh for a special birthday, they had to head home on the Friday but we wanted to extend our stay and enjoy the wonderful weather and scenery, so searching the web we decided that the Boatside inn would be a good choice. We weren’t disappointed, attractive building next to the South Tyne, lovely outside seating area in well kept gardens. There was only one room left when we booked which was twin beds but they were very comfortable, very clean accommodation, modern bathroom with powerful shower. I was slightly worry when I saw the proximity to the railway line but it was unfounded, we weren’t disturbed at all through the night. We had booked a table in the restaurant and both this and the bar were very busy with a buzzing atmosphere, the staff were all very friendly and attentive and you can see how hard they work to make sure everyone is happy. The food all looked tempting on looking at what was coming out and when ours did it was fresh, hot and extremely good. If you’re in the area and want a clean comfortable place to stay with good food and lovely surroundings then this is the place to book

Sunday lunchtime visit with my wife. The Robin Hood delivers every time. We both had roast beef, which was tender, tasty and plentiful. Surrounded by great roast potatoes and a variety of winter vegetables. The Yorkshire pudding and gravy were exceptionally tasty. For dessert we managed somehow to fit in apple and blackberry crumble with a jug of custard. A wonderful end to the meal. The staff are always welcoming and friendly and just get on with making sure you enjoy your meal. Highly recommended and it will not disappoint.

After the rain we received while we visited the camp, it is pleasant to enter this warm space and have something hot and visit the museum once dry and reconstituted.

We haven't been to The Jackdaw because our booking for April 2025 isn't being honoured we found out this morning. See below. In December 2024 we booked our meal for a Saturday night in April 2025 at The Jackdaw. It was for my 70th birthday and we chose The Jackdaw as we'd eaten there before and had lovely meals. Today I received a call from Gillian, one of the owners, to say that they had a large party that night and so they couldn't accommodate us at the time we booked.Gillian asked if we could either go the night before or for Sunday lunch. We were travelling up to Warkworth on the Friday and didn't want to rush our journey and we may well eat out on the journey up. We had other plans for the Sunday so I said no to these options. I was amazed that we were being told they wouldn't honour our booking as we had clearly booked our meal before this large party. Gillian said she would ring me back. Rupert, the other owner, called back and explained about moving furniture around for the large party and how it was for someone who'd had their 50th birthday there and now wanted their 70th birthday there. He said couldn't we eat later as they served until 9 o'clock. I was astonished at this to be honest. We didn't want to eat later than the time we booked, and possibly be on our own at that time of night in the restaurant. Rupert did apologise but that doesn't make up for the fact they haven't honoured our booking. I am left feeling really disappointed and upset. This is not what I would have expected having booked the table in December. Terrible customer service in my view.

So wanted to visit here with my aunt and cousins visiting from New Zealand and could not because you are not dog friendly. I am sure you would find dogs are better behaved than a lot of children. So disappointing

We stayed here second day of our long walk of Hadrians Wall. Rooms were lovely and clean and very quiet. Really dog friendly and the chef was fantastic xx

We've just been to the Greggs at Marygate and we were served by the most lovely, welcoming and experienced staff ever, Anne went far and beyond what could ever have anticipated and we will certainly be back again and again. Cheers for great time at Greggs ❤️

After a fantastic meal here on the Saturday night (fish n chips and the open steak sandwich) we returned again, the following Friday. This time we both had the Manor Inn burger. Fantastic food yet again and possibly the best burger I have had in a long time. Staff were fantastic and service was outstanding.

I'm writing this as there aren't many reviews food is always excellent run by geordie ratcliffe as this was his late wife's cafe for years he runs the cafe as Jeanette would i may be a friend but he serves excellent food keep up the good work geordie see you tomorrow morning around 9.30a.m

We had a fabulous late lunch at The Fish Shack, loved our little Hut 4 and the dogs were very welcome. Food was absolutely first class, the specials board was just amazing could have had it all! Great service and Jackie was so lovely, highly recommended the Brownie and my goodness it was the best. We will be back

We ate here twice during the bank holiday and both times the food was amazing! The sirloin steak and sausage and mash were delicious! The service was also impressive. Staff were efficient, polite and attentive.
