The best restaurants serving British food in London

Today 7th May 2025, my friend and I went for lunch at the King's tun. We ordered the fish and chip meal with peas and an alcoholic drink. I had a glass of Shiraz and my friend had a glass of Pinot Grigio. I was charged £16 and my friend £13. I have had this meal many a time at the King's tun paying £11.91. I want to know why I had to pay this price when it clearly stated £11.91 on the menu. We were served by Cissy at the bar. I am not happy as the week before when I ate the same meal with another friend I paid £11.91.

Met here for lunch with friends. The pub is clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. However on looking on-line to see a menu beforehand, you are shown 11 menus! Once you actually get to the menu you want it is so unappetising. No wonder people decide to eat elsewhere - the pub was not busy. We all had fish and chips which was good but it is a real shame the management do not change the weekday lunchtime menu to include dishes such as jacket potatoes, pasta, regular sandwiches with fries etc.

Esto es absolutamente vergonzoso. Mi experiencia fue una basura debido a que cuando quería un desayuno no estaba disponible y eso pasó 3 veces y supongo que quieres que me muera de hambre por eso. Pero me encantan tanto tus chocolates calientes así que sigue así.

Ha estado viniendo aquí todos los viernes durante veinte años. Cada año nos mafiosamos, pareciendo estúpidos después de rodar colina abajo, y cada año han sido pacientes y serviciales. Las principales eran buenas con la excepción del atún “raro” que era cualquier cosa menos. Una descripción más adecuada se cocinaría y luego un poco más. Los postres fueron una catástrofe. Sería mejor que vinieras a Tesco al lado... porque ahí es donde el chef compra pudín. El donut £ 6. 50 (6 por £ 1 de Tesco) rociado en toffee y salsa de chocolate (también de Tesco). El melocotón matcha lassi es medio merengue (Tesco) , sorbete de melocotón (probablemente Tesco) y yogur de coco acuoso (también Tesco) .

Falta de elección en el menú, no se preguntó si teníamos alguna alergia que pensé que era una pregunta estándar. Mi marido fue también al baño y dijo que eran asquerosos y el olor era terrible, saco el limpiador que son claramente no están haciendo su trabajo, los baños de señoras no eran mucho mejor.

Nos permitieron entrar en Arthur's ya que era la media tarde para el té, ya que por lo general es solo para la comida. Pedimos earl grey y té de desayuno. Llegó bien presentado y nos ofrecieron agua. Mi té (té de desayuno) no tenía sabor era horrible y no barato No pediría esto de nuevo

since I am unable to respond to the management response on my previous review I have no choice but to create a second review. First off, we were not sat in the garden when we ordered food and we were not at two separate tables, we were in the restaurant all on the same table. We Mentioned to a member Staff that we had been waiting nearly an hour for some of the food and the staff responded. It will be with you soon. And just left and didn’t say anything to the kitchen or any other staff member. Easter Sunday was busy, but it was not so busy, to justify the wait that some of the table had finished eating and left because they needed to take their kids home and some of the table had to stay behind and wait for their food. As for the Easter egg hunt and the staff replenishing the eggs we didn’t see any staff. three children from our group didn’t find any eggs. My son Found one which was empty. And speaking to other parents in the garden, they hadn’t found any for their kids. We hadn’t seen Staff replenishing anything. Unless they were replenishing it after we left the garden and we didn’t see them. However, we were in the garden for over 15 minutes just standing around chatting while the kids ran around. Whilst we waited for our table. I appreciate your response and I appreciate that no establishment wants a negative review but I had to be honest Since I have been to This pub a few times, including Mother’s Day. And we felt let down

Visité The Coach recientemente para un Sunday Roast, y aunque el servicio era sólido, el resto de la experiencia desafortunadamente no lo fue. El asado en sí puede describirse mejor como "bien", con un precio significativo (y yo diría, injustificado) para arrancar. Premetto che avevo prenotato. Entriamo in 4 (famiglia con due bambini), nessuno ci degna di uno sguardo. Ci deve essere stata una festa poco prima, disordine e sporco. Finalmente ci fanno "accomodare" ad un tavolo sul quale non ci si poteva appoggiare da quanto era sporco. Aspettiamo..arriverà qualcuno a pulire...a chiedere cosa desideriamo...nulla..dopo 10 minuti prendiamo e usciamo... tanto nessuno se n'è accorto.. pessimo, maleducati e molto sporco

Después de viajar en tren paramos aquí para tomar una copa rápida, nos gustó lo grande que era el lugar y que tenían un montón de asientos fuera. Fue un gran lugar para ver a la gente, se sentía como un lugar seguro y amable, que es bueno, tuvimos un poco de descanso aquí, que fue relajante, y en el futuro probablemente trataríamos esto como un punto de encuentro! El lugar sirve comida y tiene varias habitaciones que dan cabida para deportes y funciones, etc. Estoy seguro de que volveremos aquí en un futuro próximo

A menudo vamos aquí por una copa, pero esta visita fue para el almuerzo del domingo - es el mejor (y mejor precio) de la zona. Teníamos cordero asado y pollo asado respectivamente y eran tan buenos que buscamos el chef para elogiar sus habilidades! Todo el personal era amable y eficiente, y cuando el gerente se enteró de que era mi cumpleaños nos hizo un escándalo - había velas de cumpleaños en mis patatas asadas (perfectamente cocinadas)! Estaba muy ocupado, sin ser demasiado ruidoso o intrusivo. Un pub londinense bueno, honesto y bien dirigido.

Muy buena comida, buenos camareros y buena comida muy buen buffet. Mucha elección de algo para todos. Precioso edificio antiguo con una gran decoración.
