Premetto che avevo prenotato. Entriamo in 4 (famiglia con due bambini), nessuno ci degna di uno sguardo. Ci deve essere stata una festa poco prima, disordine e sporco. Finalmente ci fanno "accomodare" ad un tavolo sul quale non ci si poteva appoggiare da quanto era sporco. Aspettiamo..arriverà qualcuno a pulire...a chiedere cosa desideriamo...nulla..dopo 10 minuti prendiamo e usciamo... tanto nessuno se n'è accorto.. pessimo, maleducati e molto sporco

Primera vez aquí A poca distancia del hotel Holiday Inn. Disfrutando de nuestras bebidas (Johnnie Walker Black Label). Muy contento de descubrir que este enorme pub tiene una gran variedad de whisky. El personal es bueno

Encantador entorno del encanto del viejo mundo. El anfitrión inicial / waitron fue encantador; preguntó sobre nuestro día y paradero. Estamos super hambrientos después de un largo día de caminata. Lamentablemente, la comida horrible y la tasa de conversión GBP - ZAR no ayudan. Tal vez los gustos difieran, pero la comida británica tiene un largo camino por recorrer

Pub más cercano a nuestro hotel y necesitábamos algo de comida después de un largo y lento viaje de regreso desde el centro de Londres.  3 de nosotros tuvimos Fish and Chips que, para ser justos, eran muy buenos. la 4ª persona de nuestro grupo, que es vegana, tuvo que conformarse con un plato de papas fritas y un plato de guisantes 'triturados' (¡no guisantes blandos, estos fueron puré de guisantes de jardín!) Creo que lo único que mantendrá este pub serán los estudiantes y algunos lugareños, ya que no es un lugar que visitaría con frecuencia si tuviera la opción.

Siamo stati in questo pub durante il nostro viaggio a Londra. È un pub frequentato da gente della zona per niente turistico. Buone le birre e i piatti tipici inglesi. Prezzi nella norma. Zona ovest di Londra vicino la metro nort acton.

Si trova al di fuori del centro di Londra a pochi minuti dalla fermata di North Acton. Hamburger molto buono e prezzi nella media. Approvato

I’m staying at the Travelodge across the road, nearly didn’t come over because of the bad reviews, ignore them! Great atmosphere, decent food & beer, what more do you need from a pub.

Très bon pub sympa à l écart de l agitation , avec terrasse en arrière cour et grand choix de bières

Unfortunately not a good experience. Made me feel quite sick. Low hygiene standards, good hygiene practices need to be implemented. Tired furniture. Not much choice. Won't be returning again, unless if they overhaul the menu and refurbish the place.

Didn't actually eat here, just popped in for a pint. Good beer but the place is tired and worn out. Urgently needs a refurb.

My buttermilk chicken was burnt, they didn’t have Sausage and mash, or the aioli that was on the menu with a lot of the dishes , staff were rude and gave different advise on the same dish , very strange lunch experience , normally not bad but today was not great

Bella atmosfera da tipico pub inglese, tanto legno scuro e tante spine per i vari tipi di birra. Noi abbiamo cenato senza spendere esageratamento ma stando attenti a cosa si ordinava. La sera successiva volevamo tornarci ma non abbiamo trovato posto per sederci talmente il locale era pieno di clienti. La birra bionda veramente eccellente. Personale preciso e cordilale. Went into this pub to watch the rugby, it smelt so bad it made me feel sick. Don’t know if it was the old worn out furniture which smelt of urine or it was just in the whole fabric of the pub... needless to stay we left very quickly and would warn others to take a nose peg if venturing in.

In London to see a band, wanted to watch Wales v England 6 Nations. ‘The Castle’ perfect, right opposite our hotel, that was as good as it got,.The place stank, might as well have been drinking in the toilets, made me and my wife feel sick, downed our drinks sharpish and returned to our hotel, ‘Holiday Inn Park Royal’ Hotel staff put the rugby on for us and we watched it there, ( Stella £4.70 a pint) Result.

The castle is a few minutes walk from where we are staying in North Acton. Coming from Australia it is great to be able to experience a British pub so close to our accomodation. The selection of local beers is fabulous. Food is fresh and tasty. Prices are reasonable and staff are friendly. It’s a busy place - which shows it must be good! If the locals hang out here it’s definitely the place to be!

We came here after a long trip and a busy day to have something to eat and have a drink. Great burger and nice selection of biers, relaxed atmosphere. It is a great choice if you do not want to go to the downtown.

We were hungry and tired after a day at legoland and went here to eat after getting back to our hotel. The buttermilk chicken sounded good and we eagerly awaited it. When it arrived it was burnt and overcooked and to make things worse it was thigh rather than breast which would be very unusual. Will not return to this premises. A poor return for one of the top priced items on the menu

Locale molto accogliente e caldo, birre ottime e vasta gamma di scelta di quest'ultime. Cibo buono e servito abbastanza velocemente. Molto interessante la struttura in se, veramente molto bella, sia all'estero che al proprio interno, così come l'arredamento e le sedie vintage. I prezzi vanno dalle 8/9 £ fino alle 13/14£. Le birre hanno un prezzo tra le 4/5£

Great traditional pub, not many about these days!! the staff are extremely friendly, good choice of beers and spirits as you would expect, we were going to eat there but didnt only because we probably had one to many!! :) We are back there again this Saturday 6th October so lets hope it shows the same warmth and friendliness :)

Paid a quick visit whilst staying at the nearby Travelodge. We were heading into town for a concert and popped in for lunch. Staff were very friendly and the lunch was lovely. Just sandwiches etc and couple of beers but was very nice. If you are into craft beers there was a large selection but plenty of lagers as well.Would use again

We went here because it was close to our Travelodge we ordered drinks but after looking at menu decided to go else where to eat so can't comment on the food. The pub is quite tatty looking , has seating outside but not very clean in this area. Ok place for a quick drink.

We visited this pub with the intention to have an evening meal, but we ended up just having drinks. There was a good drinks selection for my father who is a fan of Fullers, but me and my mother always favour a soft drink. There are benches outside where we sat where we could just watch the world go by, but we could also see planes coming into London. This pub is located very close to North Acton Underground Station and a couple minute walk from the Travelodge. There wasn't a massive range of food that suited our tastes, but i'm sure it would suit others. We would definitely return to this pub for a drink if we stay in the North Acton area again.

Avoided the multitude of chains for a quaint wee pub and hopefully some good food.

Hemos estado viniendo a este pub durante más de una década y, aunque hemos visto muchos cambios es la música en vivo extremadamente dudoso que hemos sido testigo en los últimos noches que nos ha llevado a salir del lugar.

Estuvimos cerca de aquí y noté este lugar cuando va a nuestro hotel, así que tuve que llamar para una bebida. Había un Blues Jam Noche en, y qué gran noche, cantantes y músicos invitados en hacer una vuelve a lugar, un muy buen ambiente. No probamos la comida, pero se veía muy bien. Mucha variedad de cervezas para los bebedores de cerveza. Sentarse dentro, fuera o en el jardín de la cerveza, un gran pub!

El pub está hecho en un estilo inglés tradicional y ha establecido sus precios en consecuencia. Tienen una gran selección de cervezas de barril para elegir y el hombre del bar recomendado para mí darme una muestra de prueba.

This is a very traditional looking pub with a great range of beers and ciders.

Sorry for delayed review, we went to the Castle for our Christmas Lunch 22 of us from the company and they gave us an exceptional day. We had out own separated area and a large U shaped table, service was excellent and the food was superb. To send out 22 Christmas dinners in such a quick time is not easy and the food was excellent. Most people had the Xmas turkey dinner and the food was really nice. The staff are a credit to the pub, this place is a brilliant oasis in a fairly grungy area. We will be returning next year. Good value at £36 per head for a three course lunch.

Very disappointed with food menu. Avoid everything on menu except chicken burger and fish & chips. This based on several visits by myself and wife together and with friends.

Un po' fuori mano, ma essendo in zona per motivi di lavoro ci ho cenato per 2 sere di fila. Fuori è davvero molto carino, specie sotto Natale. E' un tipico pub inglese, affollato dopo l'uscita dall'ufficio. Ho trovato le birre davvero speciali e l'hambrger di manzo con patatine abbondante e buono. Personale davvero disponibile!

Vine aquí con un compañero para pescado y patatas fritas no me decepcionó, dieron una agradable pieza de bacalao y suficiente cantidad de fichas para £11. 50. Las cervezas también eran geniales, bien equipada y cervezas frías, personal amable. Volveremos aquí!

El Castillo albergó una comida de empresa de navidad para 24 en nuestro pub y el castillo verdaderamente extraordinario. El ambiente era excelente, la comida era abundante, bien presentada y muy sabroso y el anfitrión (Madeleine) no podría haber sido más servicial. Reservamos la habitación...

Gran selección de cervezas de artesanías. Sigo descubriendo nuevas fábricas de aquí. Porciones de comida decente, y en el nuevo menú son grandes. Gran servicio! Aunque un poco caro.

Buena pinta de cerveza, muy bonito, caro pollo calamares entrante hamburguesa. Suelta la silla, algunos otros sillas cómodas, no necesita una renovación. No mucha gente comiendo el sábado por la noche, demasiado largo y caro menú. Pierna de cordero en carne 17 libras. 50 realmente? No hay ofertas en la junta. . . . Buenas cervezas, pero necesita un nuevo menú y especialidades diarias en una mejor relación calidad-precio.

Este es un pub, así que Fuller's tienen una buena variedad de cervezas, tanto en barril y en botella. Son decepción por su menú de comida, sin embargo, que es muy limitado y caro.

Whilst staying in a nearby hotel I ate here a couple of times. They've got a great selection of beer and the staff were friendly, but the food was average. The burger was OK, but the Battered Frontier Cod had no texture at all, it was distinctly soggy. A colleague had the past which she said was bland.

Was staying in a local hotel for the night and needed some food. The castle delivered. Good classic British favourites. Was even allowed to take away. Can’t fault it.

I have been going to the castle for many years and have watched it change styles a good few times.These days i would call it a gastro watering hole!.They have a good selection of beers and wines. The food is above average for the sort of food it serves.it can get very busy and a little chaotic but it is an oasis in a student wasteland

Went for a meal on Saturday 9th sept 2017 Sadly it can only be described as very poor Menu choice was poor And the food we ordered was disgusting very badly presented and tasted even worse a definite never too returnHas too be said the worse meal ever

I would be happy to give the pub 4 stars but regrettably it is yet another Fullers pub that offers 3 draught lagers, 2 of which will only appeal to people who like overpriced hoppy lagers (Moretti and Frontier) and the third choice is Carling.As a lager drinker, having to resort to drinking Carling is an offence to both my taste buds and liver. Needless to say, i only stayed for one pint.

My wife and I and two grandsons (11, 13) stayed in a nearby hotel for 5 days during our London visit. The Castle Pub was our go-to place for dinner. Simple menu, but the food was very good, and the staff sooo friendly to tourists from the US. This place gave the boys a good impression of a local British Pub, lots of locals, but very friendly to tourists. And the prices were quite reasonable.

The staff kindness saved the day. The building has a lot of space with tables, sofas, high stools, and a large garden--mainly used as designated smoking area. The beer selection is decent, featuring classic Fuller's pub beers and other ones on the go. The meal was, frankly, disappointing to say the least. We went for Sunday roast and the place was very quiet, so I did expect a decent meal and no stressed kitchen. The two options for Sunday roast were beef topside and 1/2 chicken, served with Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, and cabbage. I liked the Yorkshire pudding and the four carrot sticks I had. The potatoes must have been frozen and baked a day before, the cauliflower was hard and tasteless as the cabbage, and the beef was sad. I have eaten in other Fuller's pubs before, but never got a topside that shouldn't have been treated like that such as today's. Never again.We also tried some croquettes as starter but they weren't certainly inspiring. The aioli served with was ok. As said at the top, if the staff hadn't been kind and attentive, I would have rated it 'Poor'. One starter, two Sunday roasts, one pint of IPA, one cappuccino, and one glass of soda water: 38 quid. Way too expensive for the reduced experience. I wonder who dares to call it a gastropub.

Het eten was lekker maar toch wat weinig. Valt ook te zien wat je neemt. De prijs valt goed mee. Het is wel even zoeken als je binnen komt omdat je aan de bar moet bestellen. Niemand die dat gezegd had dua bleven we wel eventjes wachten.

Tha Castle is a nice enough pub in the Acton area, offering a reasonable menu and a few Ales. I visited here for dinner during my recent stay in the area, they had a great offer on for Burgers which worked out to be £5 with Chips, add to this reasonably priced beer, and it works out to be a good bet when in the area. I will certanly visit again when in the area.

Abbiamo pranzato in questo tipico pub inglese, locale davvero molto bello e curato nei dettagli, il tipico pub inglese che si ha desiderio di visitare. Had dinner here our 2nd night in London and watched a game here on a later date. Both experiences were great. Classic sports bar. The Thai food appetizers were delicious. Great beers!

We were staying at the nearby Holiday Inn Express and decided to stop by for a bite and a drink. They have a decent selection of beer and some pretty good food. I would recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

. On Holland Park Avenue, and not far from the tube station, this pub attracts both locals and passing visitors and tourists of all types. There is a good and changing selection of lagers and ales, a reasonably priced wine list (though the wines are nothing exceptional fairly standard) and regular pub grub. The front room is light and airy and caters to both drinkers and casual diners, whilst a similar sized back room has more of a dining room feel to it. Two large TVs screens are discreetly placed for major sporting events, Without dominating the main activities of chatting, drinking and eating. The location, overlooking Holland Park Avenue, is somewhat reminiscent of a Parisian Boulevard. There are only a couple of tables outside unfortunately, but in warm weather the large French windows in the dining area open out onto the street for a semi outdoor experience. Great for a beer or light lunch after a spot of local shopping at Lidgates (best butcher in London), Mechanikou (best fruit and veg shop in Lindon), Paul (for Bread) and Jeroboam (for cheese).

Perfect location and the fish and chips sandwich for lunch is light and flaky . Also tried the brisket and the feta and sweet balls. Manager stopped by and was so nice as well

I've visited this place on a number of occasions during my stay in London and I've always found the staff to be pleasant. The variety of beers on tap is a nice change from the offerings in my home city of Belfast.

Was staying at the Holiday Inn Express down the road and met a friend in North Acton. Just popped in for a few pints and some food. Had the chicken wings and a chili dog. There was some live music in the back, but we were still able to have a conversation in the main room. Overall everything was fine, but nothing exceptional. Decent choice for the area I suppose.

OK so choices are limited in North Acton, of that there is little doubt. The Castle, taking this into account, is... OK. Food is OK (never thought this is great, never thought I can't eat this). The beers are..... OK. The staff are nice enough. Its fine for what it is, but don't expect an experience to write home about.

Der Pub ist typisch eingerichtet und sehr gemütlich, große Auswahl an Bier, aber auch anderen Getränken. Personal hätte freundlicher sein können für meinen Geschmack.Unser bestelltes Essen kam sehr schnell, wirkte aber lieblos und geschmacklich nicht gut. Wir haben uns geärgert! Zum Weggehen ein toller Platz, aber für eine Mahlzeit nicht zu empfehlen.

Ordered food from the bar for my table. Sat at table but was asked to move (apparently table was "reserved". Food never arrived.

Stopped in for a couple of pints and some good food! Had the beef ale pie with veggies, very good! My lady had the steak and loved it too. Highly recommended!

Este típico pub inglês fica fora do centro de Londres. No limite entre as zonas 2 e 3 do metrô está a pouco mais de cem metros da estação North Acton. Oferece os tradicionais fish and chips e cachorro quente além dos especiais do dia. Todos deliciosos e bem servidos como convém a um pub.

The Castle had only 3 beers on tap when I popped in , discovered early closing on New Years Eve unlike nearby Sandflame open till 4 on N Y Eve , The Castle now has uncomfortable wooden seats by the big bar tv - very bad move this -also ruined the dining area off the bar which used to have good tables and seats now high tables and v uncomfortable. The management of this pub have ruined a good pub.Food pricey and not as good as it used to be.Fullers - new manager please ! this used to be a well run Fullers pub with good beers and food and a welcoming landlord.To cap it all the bar staff did not know the price of a cappuccino ! get a grip guys !

We popped in for a meal as choice is very limited in the area. We had two burgers which were OK and pad Thai thick was very good. Service was very quick but prices were perhaps slightly higher than expected.

I visited here for a pint on a recent visit to London whilst I was in the area and the beer was good and the service was good and reasonably priced.

We were delighted with our Sunday lunch at The Castle. The two guys working there were so warm friendly and helpful, nothing seemed too much too trouble for them.<br />We also particularly enjoyed the nut roast and the meat roasts were lovely too.<br />However it was the service that was so good.

Visited on Thai food night - half a dozen Thai dishes on the specials board. I had the beef red curry which tasted good but the vegetables were overcooked - sliced carrots that turned to mush under the slightest pressure from my fork. Another of our party had a chicken stir fry but was even more dissapointed.Colleagues had burgers which they enjoyed.I will go back but I will stick to something straight forward.

It was the first and last visit there. After entering, saying Hi, the 2 waitresses did not botherwith us and kept talking about their last 'tales and ...'. There were only 2 tables wi th clients, so...I should be happy for them to come and take my money and give me some leftovers. After 5 or 10 minutes we got out of this hole and went for sushi. I would rather pay a begger than enter this establishment again. At least they do something for their money-they beg.

Good Food and friendly service- portions were very large and filling. Nice atmosphere for watching a game.

Lovely big pub on the corner with beer garden, friendly staff but think the chef is trying to cook beyond his means. We had steak which came on a tin tray !!!! It tasted good but wasn't tender. We didn't try dessert. Ok if you want a nibble, good atmosphere.

Arrived early and table allocates to someone else, who wasn't eating so they pushed together 2 low pub tables and put us in front f the fire place !!!!! Bearing in mind we had someone with us who had an electric wheelchair, and they had been forewarned about this.. Good atmosphere but it's a pub it's not a restaurant. Menu looked good but they re trying to impress, stick to what you know best, this is typically somewhere for a burger, fish and chips, pie and mash.....we had 2 halloumi starters and 1 shared nacho starter.....nachos great but halloumi so small...served on tin dishes. Mains, 2 of us had the rump.....served on a tin tray......tasted good but undercooked and hrs to cut, served with fries that looked like they were from McDonalds....very very poor, other mains was borrito which was good, and other mains was prawns...again not good....we didn't stay for pudding.....told the lady about the problem with steak and offered a free drink !!!!! Overpriced for what we actually got.

I had fish and chips with London pride ale when I was there in July 2014. The service was great and the staff were very friendly. When I visit London again next year I will go back to The Castle.

After shopping at Daunt Books, this pub was convenient for a break before heading back to the flat. Friendly staff, Cornish cask ales, and tasty pub grub, coupled with relaxing old overstuffed chairs and couches make this a great place to stop.

In zona periferica ma vicinissimo alla stazione di North Acton, ottimo pub con vera atmosfera tipica (un po' di casino, ma va benissimo) e buon ristorante.Tutto ok anche per famiglia con bambini, servizio è stato veloce e portate sostanziose e gustose, buona birra.

This pub has gone from strength to strength over the years. Ages ago it was a dodgy sports bar/old man pub that was best avoided. However, thanks to successful management and an upturn in the local area it's now a lovely, friendly local, good for after-work drinks in the week or a Sunday roast at the weekend. It's always of a consistently high standard, meaning it's a fail-safe for taking visiting friends/family when in the area. Friendly staff and obvioulsy a well-run business; great stuff!

Visited here on Friday, reserved a table (Thanks Jess) as we were travelling 200 miles to stay at the Holiday Inn ( 5 Mins walk away). Found the place heaving but our table was proud and reserved and ready. Ordered Fish and Chips and prepared to wait.. but it came in what seemed only 10 mintes. Food was served not on a plate but a rather un-appetising steel tray. Lets face it it was frozen food heated up, but honestly it was edible.. but expensive for that quality. The clientele in the pub was brilliant, the staff were just great, made me proud to be English in London (for once!) would recommend this if you are in the area.

We ate lunch here - good selection on items on menu - the roasts were most popular with large Yorkshire, roast veg and gravy. Portion sizes good, friendly staff, very large pub with lots of seating, nice decor, pleasant atmosphere - will come back again

Il pub dall'esterno si presenta veramente bene. Una costruzione classica dell'architettura britannica veramente gradevole. All'interno le aspettative non vengono deluse: cuoio, legno, birra, tutto ciò che fa "pub inglese". Il cibo è ottimo, il servizio cortese e la birra che ho assaggiato (una I.P.A.) moooolto buona!! Consigliato se si alloggia in zona (oggettivamente rispetto ai luoghi turistici di Londra è fuori mano)

Comida boa e um clima bastante agradável. O atendimento, contudo, deixou a desejar: tive em alguns momentos a impressão de que este seria "um favor". Obviamente existam também funcionários muito cordiais no estabelecimento.

Appena sono sceso a North Acton ho subito notato il locale; esteticamente d'altri tempi, veramente molto bello e anche grande. In più era a 10 metri dal mio albergo e dalla mia metro, il che era sicuramente un aspetto positivo.In più, il cibo è decisamente all'altezza e anche all'interno il Pub era decisamente gradevole e caratteristico. Unica piccola pecca, il cibo è arrivato un po' più lentamente del previsto, ma magari era solamente il giorno/momento ad essere sbagliato.

I went to the Castle on a trip down memory lane, its location near to the old Acton Hilton (BBC Rehearsal rooms) makes this pub one full of history and memories from an age now gone. Once teaming with actors from shows like DR Who, Dads Army, Monty Python etc the pub shows none of this past, but has great pictures of Acton through time. It is easily found just a second or two away from the station. Inside there is a good selection of real ale and food. I did not eat, but those that did seemed to get decent food and enjoyed the quality…I can only guess.The service in the pub is friendly, the beer great…what more can you want.

What a fantastic pub great atmosphere very friendly bar staff amazing range of beers and real ales. Very good location. I had the rump steak totally amazing. Quick service with a smile. Not a lot more to say. I will be returning at my earliest opportunity. Well done to all the staff great set up.

Friendly pub, serving good quality pub grub, ate here several times throughout a working week whilst working away from home. Perfect if you stay at the Holiday Inn which is a 5 minute walk away and want to avoid a 25 minute Tube trip to Central London or a trip to West Field. Recommended for convenience.

Very friendly staff serving good pub food and a decent variety of beers and malt whiskies. Very convenient for the HI Express across the road.

Visited Tuesday evening. The place was pleasantly filled. Nice reading and dining corners. Fish and chips was good, but not exceptional. Very reasonable pricing.
