The Arnos Arms Harvester in Enfield

since I am unable to respond to the management response on my previous review I have no choice but to create a second review. First off, we were not sat in the garden when we ordered food and we were not at two separate tables, we were in the restaurant all on the same table. We Mentioned to a member Staff that we had been waiting nearly an hour for some of the food and the staff responded. It will be with you soon. And just left and didn’t say anything to the kitchen or any other staff member. Easter Sunday was busy, but it was not so busy, to justify the wait that some of the table had finished eating and left because they needed to take their kids home and some of the table had to stay behind and wait for their food. As for the Easter egg hunt and the staff replenishing the eggs we didn’t see any staff. three children from our group didn’t find any eggs. My son Found one which was empty. And speaking to other parents in the garden, they hadn’t found any for their kids. We hadn’t seen Staff replenishing anything. Unless they were replenishing it after we left the garden and we didn’t see them. However, we were in the garden for over 15 minutes just standing around chatting while the kids ran around. Whilst we waited for our table. I appreciate your response and I appreciate that no establishment wants a negative review but I had to be honest Since I have been to This pub a few times, including Mother’s Day. And we felt let down

Went for the Easter egg hunt and then lunch. In the past the Easter egg hunt was done really well. It consisted of finding little egg stickers which you would hand in at the end and every child would leave with a chocolate egg. There would also be a member of staff sticking the stickers in random places as the egg hunt was going to ensure all the children had the opportunity to find some. This year, however, they dumped a couple of plastic eggs and despite arriving five minutes after the time there weren’t any left and there was no member of Staff stocking the eggs to ensure that all children left with something. So was really disappointing. A lot of children (not just mine) left unhappy. We went for lunch and the service is appalling. Me and my friends have been going 3/4 times a year (at least) for the last few years but since going under new management it has gone down hill. The event was poorly run and poorly advertised. (They had a musician, which they have every year but when I asked staff on a previous visit, they had no idea about it so we missed it because it was on before our scheduled egg hunt). And despite not being busy when we were there some of our table waited over an hour for food. Some had finished eating before they had even received theirs. It’s just not worth going anymore.

We visited on Easter Sunday as part of a group booking. The food and service was superb, we couldn’t fault anything about our visit.

Second visit in as many weeks. Just as good as my previous trip. Me and my group shall most certainly be back again in the near future

Dropped in here with some friends after work recently. Decent atmosphere and selection of beers on tap. My friends also commented that the cocktails they had were very good

Came here whilst on a visit to see family in London. I used to come here when it was a Harvester years ago so this is first time at the pub. Well impressed overall. Had a great menu of ales which I sampled a fair few of! I did have one issue with a pie I ordered but that was rectified quickly and exchanged. The burgers are fantastic. The deserts were great and cooked fresh no microwaving a sponge like some places do. Would definitely return here. Thanks

Lovely food, although a little pricey. Disappointed they didn't have the pie but I enjoyed the burger. Staff pleasant enough and nice atmosphere. They do a really nice mocha and cappuccino. I have to say though we didn't appreciate the language coming from the Monday night quiz. Little bit unnecessary to have so much swearing. Maybe I'm just old fashioned 🤷‍♀️

Visited the Arnos Arms on 2 occasions. The first time was a leaving 'do' with colleagues from work and the second occasion was for my husband's birthday, two weeks apart. On both visits, we were met by helpful, friendly staff. I had a meal on both occasions and these would be the only let down of my times there. On my first visit, I had the Barnsley chop, which, whilst tasty, was a tad tough. My colleague who chose the same dish declared that hers was lovely and not tough at all, so not sure what happened there. On the occasion of my husband's birthday, I ordered the fish and chips. The batter on the fish was a bit overcooked and not the golden brown colour you would expect on fried battered fish, which although this took away from its appearance and presentation, the taste and the portion size was good. The portion sizes of the chips and the garden peas, however, were somewhat smaller than the portions my colleagues, who chose fish and chips, received on my first visit. I have been unlucky on the 2 occasions with my food at the Arnos Arms but I promise that these were both genuine issues, I am in no way a serial 'whinger'. I'm sorry that I was a bit too 'British' ( didn't like to complain...for those that don't know the term), and didn't say anything at the time as I didn't give them the opportunity to put these matters right. However, these issues would not deter me from visiting the pub, (and having a meal), again, as on both occasions the staff and atmosphere made up for the disappointment with the food and I had a really good time; nevertheless, I think a wee bit more training on presentation and consistency of the meals would only help to positively enhance the rest of the pub's great assets and reputation.
