I ordered the Steak and Ale pie. Only 4 tiny morsels of meat inside. The crust was nice. £14.95

My family often use this pub I spent my 21st birthday here very nice atmosphere and woman that works behind the bar with red hair is lovely great service. Gluten free menu is limited but they have never contaminated my food.

A large pub, not particularly attractive.The food is pretty average, a quite odd prawn coctail. Service was rather poor.

Great pub with food. Lots of space and free parking. Ideal if you're driving to meet someone for a meal or drink on the less popular weekday evenings. Prices are consistent with other pubs in the area and the food quality was good. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. Would recommend.

Terrible service on my daughter's Birthday extremely unprofessional staff and the lady that served our table had a blank-looking facial expression and looked as if we didn't have a reservation and felt like her face was saying where did you all come from. No initiative in asking if we need anything whatsoever. The children and adults would say thank you to everything she would just again look with no reactions yet go over to other tables and talk to others with reactions. So me and my husband just assumed she must not have any ideas about British Values because the only thing that was different was our colour and that's why she behaved this way. If she knew her British Values she would have communicated with us for sure. The 23rd of July was the worst birthday ever for my daughter who only turned 12 🙏 We only had a group of 7 girls from my daughter's class and a couple of adults. Oh well i would not advice anybody to have a birthday party here at all as its horrible atmosphere. Negative energy all over the place mostly staff no smiles very fake smiles. Very soggy kids' menu and freezing cold horrible. The only person that was lovely was Chichi who was the girl I saw a day before the birthday to reserve the tables she was so kind and helpful.

I've been twice in a week. Good food choice, vegan and vegetarian options. Friendly staff suggested what's good. Indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of parking.

Place is an absolute joke!! 10 of us ate here today for a birthday celebration, the staff are as miserable as hell not one of them even cracked a smile the whole time we were there.6 out of 10 meals were wrong and not just once they kept bringing the same food over even after they were told it wasn't ours.I ordered the chicken and steak combo ( do yourselves a favour if you're hungry don't order it) the steak was literally the size of a 50 pence piece the chicken wasn't much bigger and very dry and both were stone cold the only nice thing on the plate was the jacket potato!! The waitress came and cleared 4 plates then we never saw her again so when it came to cutting the cake we had to clear and clean our own table literally stacking plates cutlery and glasses all on a small side table and when another waitress came and got it all she didn't even apologise! Definitely won't be going back and certainly won't recommend this place to anyone!

Always excellent food and service

The food is still horrendous. Awful. There for 2 hours and no one came and cleared the table. Miserable service by staff. Not welcoming at all. Outdoor furniture in need of a paint. I mean how hard can it be. Little effort in general. Best thing about the place? Handy location. That really is it. Review 6 years ago: Super heated, microwaved and tasteless food. Staff never seem happy or welcoming. I keep retuning hoping it will get better. And they have a minimum spend for debit cards. Nicely decorated and clean though.

Enjoyable local pub. Lots of menu options for meat eaters, vegetarians and some vegan options too. Average cocktails but staff are very lovely and friendly. Gets busy in the evenings 7pm onwards. Lots of seating space indoor and outdoor

We went we friends to the jolly farmer and was meet by the rudest manager we we have ever seen . She was Austrian and All the parents were complaining about her , she was rude unprofessional and not at all welcoming This supposed to be to be family restaurant . Her poor staff who were lovely has to suffer this women She told our Tavel to be quiet with kids when we were not makeing to much noise I was going to escualte this to head office as her maniler was unwelcoming as soon as we came b telling aus to hurry as the staff want to leave and the kitchen shutting Don’t go there if you have kids. Shocking behaviour and not what I expect from a supposed family restaurant Truly appalling threee sets of parents with kids left because of this women behaviour

Sadly this is not a family-friendly restaurant. I visited on Saturday with my baby twins and after ordering, a staff member began drying and polishing cutlery next to us, each time throwing the cutlery into the tray. This was startling my babies, who I was trying to get to sleep, and me and the other guests weren’t able to hear each other over the noise. I asked him if he could stop and explained why, but he huffed, puffed, rolled his eyes and said he couldn’t stop because he had to do the cutlery and keep an eye on the pub at the same time because he was a manager. I asked if we could move table and he again huffed and puffed before calling a waitress and getting her to move us. There was no apology. The food was lovely and the venue great, but as a new mum with two babies, it can be extremely stressful going to restaurants and the manager refused to help. Such a shame, it was a favourite pub of mine, but I’ll be telling other Enfield mums not to visit.

Very nice pub. It was very busy in the middle of a Wednesday afternoon so always a good sign! Popped in after long walk in Trent Park ... food was perfect and beer was ice cold...what more could you ask.

Sunday dinner with family the food was good and portions were huge the let down was the toilets they were far from acceptable which I brought to the attention of the staff they were unclean paper strewn all over the floor the wash basins were not clean had it not been for this the review would have been five star .

Had a great evening. Saw ABBA tribute group. Shame it was only the ladies. Still had a good time

This is a nice welcoming pub located between Oakwood and Enfield. Easy ample parking is a real plus point. Nice to see a lunchtime snack menu and more substantial lunch menu . From the snack menu I chose a tasty club baguette with chips followed by a naughty rhubarb and apple crumble with custard . Food good prices are reasonable and service good

Went here ror my birthday with wife and was very impressed particularly at the service in spite of being quite busy. Couldn't have wanted better exept another time I would ask for medium rather than rare. Even this, the excellent waitress offered to put it on the grill again but I had already eaten much of it. Anyway, I was sufficiently impressed to make a drawing from my own photo. Prints can be made available of this and others for a small reasonable price. Enjoy. TH.

I have been coming to The Jolly Farmer for over ten years. The food& service have always been excellent. Sadly, standards have slipped. Yesterday nine of us went for lunch. From the time we ordered it took over ninety minutes to be served. The staff’s excuse: ‘we are very busy’. Well, yes; it was a Saturday, they were fully booked. I have been there dozens of times on busy weekends, service has consistently been impeccable. Once the food arrived it was inedible. Incinerated, tough, overcooked & tasteless. We had to send the calamari back; it was disgusting. Never an apology for the inordinate wait. I cannot believe we spent over £200 on such an appalling meal. We won’t be back.

Went at about 6pm and had a lovely family meal. Must admit was a little worried as had seen some negative reviews. Shouldn’t have worried everything was good, service and food good. Had rotisserie chicken and was excellent better than Nando’s. If you have room definitely have a desserts. Sticky toffee pudding good, cheesecake good and sundaes good. Definitely coming back.

Had an astonishingly poor fish and chips here. More greasy and oily than I thought possible; the oil was literally dripping off the paper underneath it. But the management spent the effort to remedy the problem. And for a suburban chain pub, the rather aggressive, front-of-house 'have you made a reservation?' on a midweek afternoon seems out of place. It definitely makes the place more like a restaurant, but with pub food. Seems to cater for an older crowd. Two stars for the friendly waitress but there are definitely better McMullen's pubs in Enfield.

Very poor pub that's pretending it's a third rate restaurant. I tried their rotisserie chicken and it wasn't seasoned, obviously so. Quite greasy too and the chips were underwhelming. They doubled the volume of the music twice until we asked them to turn it back down to the original (pleasant) volume. The staff at the bar were grumpy to the point of rudeness. One particular staff member walked over to our table where we were having a quiet drink and without so much as a by your leave, stretched across our heads to take a glass from the other end of the table. No verbal interaction at all, just a grumpy git who obviously doesn't like customers and sees them as an inconvenience. I used to like this pub but won't be coming back here again. Really enjoyed a Sunday meal at the jolly farmers today .I have been using the place for many years now and due to the mess the ridiculous pandemic regulations that hit all the businesses like these it's great to see that they have got through it all. The quality of the food was great and a lovely service to follow.As it was at peak time for a Sunday it ticked every box . Keep up the good work and would highly recommend this place to anyone

We had afternoon tea. Very tasty sandwiches and freshly made. Hot scones with a lot of Scottish cream and marmalade. Definitely recommend it.

My partner had the butter milk chicken burger, which was acceptable for a pub. I had the sirloin which was wet cardboard and, yes I ordered it medium rare which it did appear to be, so if you like steak, order the buttermilk chicken. On the plus side it did come artistically perched on a mountain of fries, if that's your thing.

Booked a table for a work dinner on a Sunday for a roast, with deposit. Upon booking, we asked if there would still be enough of all meats available to order and they assured us there would be. Sadly this wasn’t the case, they had nothing but the chicken left 🤦🏽‍♀️ The chicken was lovely - however 8 out of ten of us wanted other meats and were looking forward to it and was promised it would be available.

Hired the Farmers Room for an 80th birthday afternoon tea for 40 people. Nice spacious room with plenty of tables and chairs. Tea and coffee topped up regularly and all the food was lovely. Staff were inconspicuous but around if needed. Much cheaper than other local venues and the afternoon was enjoyed by all. Would definitely recommend.

Sad to leave a bad review but as recent service has really dropped here and prices have gone up too much. There is only ever one person serving at the bar. The food has really gone down. The wine has become so expensive over £10 for a glass. A pub lunch shouldn't be costing more than the Westerdale. Especially with poor service.

Really upset to be giving such a bad review. I was a regular customer however I was double charges £50 as the waiter mentioned the first transaction did not go through although i showed it did work on my apple pay. I have been going back and fourth for nearly a year now! The customer service agreed it was a mistake on their end, and its with the finance team to refund me. Absolutely ridiculous! Really cannot believe it, they have literally taken from me!

I took a friend for her birthday and was really disappointed by the whole experience... the napkins were discoloured due to the brass tables... the cutlery unclean... the brass table was full of marks due to the cleaning product they use on it. I wiped it off with my napkin, and it was all blue. The waiter dropped our 2 cocktails on the floor. The breaded mushrooms were super dry on the outside and lukewarm in the inside it's got to be frozen stuff... the mains were ok but a bit flavourless... The deserts were great!!!! The waiters were nice but I was expecting a better service. I won't take a friend for a special birthday there, maybe for drinks but not for eating, especially for the price!

Lovely cosy pub, we took our dog and he was happy and calm, it was warm and staff were attentive. Food was good, especially enjoyed the hunters chicken, apple and rhubarb crumble with custard :)

We came last weekend for my SILs birthday dinner, food was great, service great and atmosphere was really lovely. We will be making this gem a more frequent place to eat.

I've eaten here numerous times and have always experienced a nice meal and a friendly atmosphere. Will continue going here.

We were a table of 12 adults out for a works dinner. We kept Ellie very busy but she was brilliant. Have been here a few times always with a table of 10 or more and have always been well looked after. Of course nowhere is perfect all the time but am always happy to book again.

Visited on Friday night 3/2/24 just for drinks with the family. It's a nice space with adequate parking space and with nice atmosphere. Unfortunately it's let down by it's very poor level of service. Table still had stuff from the previous booking which were picked up after a long time but it was never wiped so we had a dirty sticky table. There was a huge queue at the bar as only one guy was serving. When a second female colleague (red fringes+tattoos) of his eventually turned up 10 minutes later it got even worse as she got the order wrong and was incredibly rude. I'm a very regular pub-goer and that was the worst service I've experienced in the last decade by far. In conclusion, a space with a lot of potential that is let down by inadequate staff, sort it out.

I was looking forward, to today. However we were left utterly disappointed with the food and service! First of all, we sat down at the table and waited over 15 mins for drinks. Then we ordered the starters which took about a good 30mins and we only ordered hummus and chicken platter. The hummus platter for 4 adults was a joke for the price. Then we move onto the mains.we ordered three steaks, two of them which we requested peppercorn sauce at an additional price. They brought us gravy! Also i had to get up, two times to request mustard, and ketchup and cutlery. After food we were waiting for a waiter to bring us the dessert menu so we can order the cookie dough. I had to get up and go to the bar and request that someone comes and takes an order but no one showed up. So i had to go to a waiter myself to order. The cookie dough comes and i dont know what they did with the recipe but it wasnt the same like it used to be. Needless to say that they did not bring us a spoon and once again i got up to get a spoon. I do understand that you may be understaffed however we are customers that come often and this is the first time we were left so disappointed!

A group of us had booked to see “George Michael “ I have to start by saying we did have a good night and we did have a lovely waiter and good service even though it was a very busy evening. The food on the other hand could only be described as average at best. My pie had such hard pastry that I couldn’t eat the top. A friend’s burger was over cooked so much I would have sent it back. To be honest I think everything had been cooked and then warmed up again. I can’t say I ever really enjoy the food in this pub but I had good friends for company which was more important. Sorry George but we won’t be coming to see you again

Just been here for first time and will undoubtedly come again. The food was unbelievably delicious. I had the hunters chicken. Wow is all I can say, probably one of the best I've ever had. Extremely tasty. Flavours were amazing. Chips were lovely and crisp. The coleslaw was very nice too. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and not too in your face like some places. Very good value for monet. Food to die for and nice relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend this place

Went with a party of 12 on NYE. We all had a fun night. The pre-ordered food was served without any fuss - all decent & hot considering how busy the pub was. The waitress was very attentive & "on it". There was a singer, DJ & space for dancing. Dance floor was busy all night. All in all a great local venue to have NYE & not too expensive.

We went here for Xmas eve for family meal. Food was so good. Good size portions. Staff were great. They were great at accommodating for different dietary requirements. Overall we all had a lovely time. Highly recommend.

Congratulations to Carolyn (manager) and all staff. We found the online booking system easy to use and paid a small deposit and chose our Christmas menu options. On the day (Sat 23 Dec) the staff were organised, friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was amazing thanks to the chefs and kitchen staff. We were served by a man called James who was extremely professional and polite. He made our visit! The food was lovely too.

Christmas meal with social group.

Week before Christmas, busy, but not enough staff. Long wait for drinks, orders to be taken. The staff were pleasant, not their fault understaffed. For a place that their selling point is chicken was very disappointing and dry. steak looked like shoe leather and chewy. Vegetable (and I say this loosely!, one piece of cauliflower, few pieces of potato, green beans so overcooked and some peas) Massaman curry was very unpleasant, tasted like a packet mix, no bread or garnish etc. Bottle of wine ordered came up after we had finished eating so sent back. Eton mess with hardly any meringue. Wouldn't go back!!

We hadn't been to the Jolly Farmers in a while but decided to take our 97 year old great aunt out for a christmas lunch. Straight away we were impressed by how cosy the place felt even though it's pretty large, and we were very quickly seated despite turning up slightly early. The place was busy (always a good sign, right?) and the waiting staff were obviously rushed off their feet but still offered excellent friendly service and banter. With three vegetarians in our party, we found plenty on offer on both the normal and the specials menu. The burgers were superb, with a good plate of sides, folk who had the roasts (chicken and veggie versions) had their plates absolutely stacked so there was no issue with portion sizes - and best of all the food was piping hot (you've no idea how many places we've reviewed and complained about cold food - not the case here thankfully). Desserts were tempting so we couldn't resist. Our party can definitely recommend the Blondwich and the cookie dough, but our 97 year old was suitably impressed by her peach and rasperry tart which looked pretty spectacular. There were lots of very well behaved kids in the section we were seated in and though the overall atmosphere was bubbly and noisy we still had a great time and could have a good dinner conversation all the same. Particular thanks to the server on duty on sunday 17th around 12.30, excellent job dealing with a tone deaf elderly relative :D When he told us they were expecting a party of 40 later that day I felt VERY sorry for 'im!

Dry rotisserie chicken, they forgot to bring a dish we ordered but apart from that the food portions were a good size and reasonable value for money. Not many vegetarian options. Staff very polite, but it's a bit too much to ask us if the food was ok four times during the main course. It was the same person three times. Parking overflow around the back was useful.

Food and drinks amazing as always. Service was lacking a little bit. We had to call the staff ti get the order. Somehow they didn't notice we were there for a while...and very hungry. Luckily we got served quite quickly.

There were 7 of us, plus 2 kids. 6 of us had the roasted turkey from their Christmas menu. I’d rate it a 6 out of 10; however, some members of my party would rate it a 4 out of 10. For desert I had the baked cookie dough and it was really, really good. The atmosphere is nice, as it’s a cozy pub. The reason for my low score is the service. The staff were just very dry. When I asked for something, the waitress didn’t even look at me and when I asked her if it was okay to get me what I had asked for, she replied: “I said yes”. Then, after we had our mains, we asked for some additional drinks, it took ages for them to arrive… and when they did, our surprise was that they were brought by an elderly man. When we asked him if he worked there, he said: “no, I just been waiting at the bar for ages to be served and theses drinks had been standing there the whole time, so I thought I’d bring them to you”. The last thing that made our experience so bitter was when, again, we had to wait ages to order our desserts. We saw a waitress setting the table next to us, we asked her if she could take our order. She said “one moment” and continued setting the table. After a few minutes, we asked her if she could please take it, and she said “I need to get this table set first”, which didn’t sit well with us, when she prioritised setting the table for some clients that weren’t even there yet, over looking after us… when she finally got a colleague to come get our order, when she arrived to the table, the first thing she said was: “what is wrong? So, not the best customer manners… Lastly, one of us explained the whole experience to the pub manager and she said or did absolutely nothing, which made us feel completely unheard and unappreciated. Won’t be going to this pub any time soon…
