Plough in Enfield

Waited a while for our drinks. After 40 minutes asked where our food was. We were told the order was lost and would be another 5 minutes. The food arrived several minutes later. It was lovely but we were not offered compensation for the wait and barely an apology.

Unfortunately our party of 7 all our meals came out at different times over the space of 30 minutes. Roast dinner production made. Menu said there was stuffing, this was not on the plate. Had to ask for extra gravy. Very small portion. Not worth the price

What a shame. We arrived with our wheelchair bound mother in law at 3.00pm just as everybody was about to leave. Despite this, we were forced to sit at a tiny table even though larger and more suitable tables were available, probably due to profit motive. Also, the young waiter lied to us saying they were all booked. By 3.45pm the place was deserted. Going back? Probably not.

So me and my family went to this horrible pub, as soon as we walk in we ask for a table without a reservation and this guy rolled his eyes at us an then proceeded to sit us down (the whole time we where there it was empty) first the light had broken and it was very very dark, on asking if they could turn a light on they said the bulb broke and just walked away. Then we ordered food (this included 3 steaks) when the steaks came they where so tough and burnt, would couldn’t even cut them so we sent them back, when they came again they was hairs in the chips DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

This place is very nice it has very nice food what is wonderful and the food comes out at the right time like it isn’t slow to make or fast I just really like this place defiantly reccomend Xx

Came here as truck driver parked up wanted something better than fast food and the staff accommodated for me nice and quite the time I went in congrats

the pub needs to vary the menu. it's always the same thing on offer. needs a wider range and/or a specials board

We visited on a dreary day - cold and overcast - and so were not able to sit in the lovely garden outside. It is the perfect place to visit however on brighter days - and especially if you are a dog - lover. They not only welcome dogs - they have a "canine menu" so your pooch will be well cared for! The food was pretty good and the service the same. We will return on a warmer day in the future and enjoy the garden outside.

Excellent food and great atmosphere

Visited Sunday afternoon after visiting Crews Hill Nurseries. Quite and relaxed atmosphere but busy tables with Sunday roast offering being popular. Nicely decorated and well lit in many seating parts. Service was friendly but somewhat struggling with the load and need for attention. Food was out quickly. Nice plating but I wished for larger portions. Reasonably priced for north London. Worth revising on more relaxed day.

I popped in here on my own. Was shown to a table overlooking the garden, served promptly. Food was lovely, well presented. Good value.

Visited on Sunday and was disappointed. We were walk ins but that shouldn't make any difference. Table for 5 but where we were expecting a relaxed bite to eat I do feel a 45 minute wait is a bit excessive. Waitress said we should have been told when we arrived. If we had been we would have rethought as I had my elderly Dad with me.

Were there last night for the fabulous ABBA Tribute night, great pub food beautifully good and were looked after superbly by both Liv and Mya, well done to all at the Plough! Shall certainly be back soon!

Mckenzie was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish, will be a great loss, i hope the boots can be filled by Dan and the team.

This is a great place to have a relaxing lunch date or even dinner. It's children and dog friendly with some food/drink items on the menu for your pooch to enjoy, too. It's always quite busy with families and dog walkers, so the wait if you're ordering food can take a while as can being served at the bar, but it's still a great place to go and is very affordable.

Waited to long to be served, went to the Rose and crown instead, really slow service, it's a real shame as it's a nice location.

Sat in the garden area. Had a lunch with a friend, good atmosphere, sunny day and tasty food.

One of the best pubs I’ve gone to in a while. The atmosphere was amazing and don’t even get me started on the amazing staff. Dan liv Bonnie and Scott made my day and night. 10/10 recommend for a cheeky night out.

Nice place stop, let the kids have a play in the onsite playground and have a drink and some food. Usual pub food, very tasty, great desserts as well. Set in the Crews Hill garden centre, the surroundings are really pleasant. Outdoor and indoor seating. Car parking available. Staff are pleasant.

Went with our family, food was lovely, 2 of us had Roast Turkey, one had fish & Chips, one had chicken kebab and our grandson had fishfingers. The food came out quite quickly and was lovely 10/10 would highly recommend. 👍 There is a large garden and a children’s play area - you can also take dogs!

Hired the gazebo for a private party. From the time of booking the staff were exceptional, very professional and friendly. Had a great time, lovely food and drinks. Thank you so much.

A nice pub, which is dog friendly. Has lovely gardens to eat and drink at. Plenty of space inside. A variety of meals, including burgers, chicken, fish and plenty of vegetarian options. Food is good and fresh. Staff re Very friendly.

We had a lovely meal here. Hubby had the ultimate grill and I had the salad bowl. I’ve given 4 stars not 5 due to I don’t think the lime and coconut chicken belonged on the grill, plain chargrilled chicken would be nicer. My salad bowl however was lovely, really my kind of food. Humus, feta and walnut and I chose steak to go on it. Hubby also had the fruit crumble with custard, could do with ambling a bit hotter, but still tasty. We will return.

Want to start off by saying that none of the evening was our poor waitresses fault. She was lovely, even when food was sent back three times and she had to keep coming in and out instead of the chef or manager making an appearance. We went on Saturday night to celebrate two birthdays. The food was just absolutely awful to say the least. Microwaved, dry, we sent back FOUR starters because they were literally inedible. And it’s not cheap - we feel like we wasted so much money and I will be emailing today to make a formal complaint.

Held a Wake here a few days ago, perfect venue, ample parking, pub spacious and airy, plenty of seating, buffet was excellent, a lot more people attended than we had accounted for, this was not a problem, additional hot food was promptly provided, all staff were attentive and helpful, from planning the day in advance with Mckenzie to the actual wake itself. Would 100 % recommend Thank you

Ordered some starters which took 40 minutes to arrive and were stone cold when they did. Miniscule portions too. The entertainment whilst we waited consisted of a fight between 2 groups of ‘customers’ which resulted in a 20 minute screaming match and both parties having to be separated. Won’t be returning.

Came here with my 4yr old son and partner to celebrate my birthday. Another family were sat outside when we got here and Cbeebies was on the big screen while there was no football (and it was pretty empty outside). We thought this was a great idea. The young staff were lovely and attentive. What we can only assume was the bar manager (older guy, later 40s/early 50s), then came out to put the football on and made a point of shaking his head and seeming quite displeased at the TV currently being set on a channel to entertain the little ones.- It wasnt as if we'd expected it to stay on here durinh the match 🤣 He seemed to assume that we'd done it, faffed about with a few huffs and puffs, walked off and we promptly left. Our son has Autism so we thought the added touch of the cartoons by the play area was a touch in the interim. Seemingly not. Won't be returning.

Decided last minute to pop out to The Plough for an evening meal (3 courses) and we wasn't disappointed. The food was very good and reasonably priced, as were the drinks. The service was good and the staff helpful and polite - as special mention to McKenzie, who looked after us most of the evening. Also found a very nice Malbec (Dead Man's Dice) to go with the meal - again reasonably priced. Overall a very nice experience. It may be a few miles away from where we live, but we will certainly be frequenting The Plough more often.

Food was great. Shame for having to wait 1h and 10 minutes for food (starters & mains all arrive together). Also quite a few empty tables inside but we had to seat outside as all these tables were booked

I go to The Plough fairly frequently... so this was a disappointment. I'm writing this because I need to warn to warn you against the minimal, poor and boring Mac's Salad which is describes as a "Classic' on the Menu. As I say, The Plough is a place I know and like - but DON'T have that Salad. It was very small. It didn't contain the ingredients described. It was by no means a main course! to the extent that it was a classic it was a classic waste of money - even with a rather stringy piece of steak added. I do hope the company reads this and makes changes. It was sad to see a good place so VERY let down by a dish so simple to make.

Great place to take the family, nice garden with a playground is perfect for the little ones. Yummy roast!!

Lovely little pub with great food. We’ve been here a few times before but I wanted to leave a review as it’s well deserved. Had lunch on Tuesday with 5 others, everything was lovely, the food, the atmosphere and the service, can’t fault it in a way. Will definitely visit again!

I've visited the plough with a friend for lunch and was left so disappointed, not just by the service and the extreme delay in bringing out our food, we're completely ignored when the waitress said she'll be back with an update on our food which never happened, my the waiters not knowing basic information about the menu, by the frustration towards us from people working at the bar, but we disregarded many things because it was super busy, and can understand it can be stressful time for the personnel, however, my friend and I both ordered two salads and was in compete and utter shock when it arrived by how small the portion was. The salad consisted of three pieces of lettuce all together which when you added them together didn't even add up to a single leaf !! I am not exaggerating! I'm not one to usually complain but could not get over how much of a joke that was. When I asked to speak to the manager to question the portion they couldn't even give me a straight answer but agreed at how tiny it was and just offered to bring me another salad, which they brought one small plate with five extra leaves! Which was a joke on top of the joke! Not to mention my friend had see mice running around which she didn't even touch her own salad! Despite how long elunthe atmosphere is, it was just unacceptable on so many levels!

For my local pub, I think it’s a great one to pop into Anytime ! Staff for lovely great beer garden, especially if the weather is great

I was here a couple of nights ago for a bar snack and a couple of glasses of wine. Bar and table service very good - staff are polite, which goes a long way in my book.... Chicken goujons were ok...good enough to order again. Remember to help yourself to cutlery and condiments on the way out, if sitting outside, as that isn't part of table service. Some of the clientele that night were gangsta' wannabes and there were a couple of lads continually bombing up and down outside on motorbikes / scooters... Nothing the pub can do about any of that though. It's an ok place.

Lovely pub with good food. Pub is well decorated with plenty tables inside. We’ve had birthday party here so tried almost all from the menu. Buffalo wings - my fav (hot), then halloumi fries with sweet chili sauce yummy . Rest of them good as well . From mains we’ve had grill mix and all meat is nicely done. Kids menu available. Nice and helpful customer service . Size of pub is good for the big groups with kids . Lots of space to play for little ones : nice playground and tables outside. Parking available.

After waiting 45 minutes for a toasty sandwich and a bowl of soup it was very disappointing. The toasted sandwich was very greasy. The pea and mint soup was cold and we sent it back a second time and came back no better overall very disappointed. The wait time should have been explained when we arrive and it could’ve been solved by making sure everybody knew that it was at least an hour wait so that they could catch up in the kitchen and what they were doing, I still paid, but I wish I hadn’t

We attended a private function, The Plough staff worked really hard to service our event needs throughout the afternoon. Buffet food was very good, a nice mix of sandwiches and finger food. The pub area was also busy and did not impact on our service. There were lots of parking spaces available.

First of all we ordered our food sausage & mash with a side of cauliflower cheese and get told there’s no cauliflower cheese fair enough, but then my partner over heard the waiters talking about how they haven’t had mash for over 3 hours but doesn’t directly come and tell us and waits for someone else to tell us! So our starter comes out we ordered loaded nachos with chilli con carne and it quickly comes apparent it’s the veggie 3 bean chilli, my partner then overhears again that they’ve run out of chilli again no one comes to apologise and let us know it’s the veggie chilli and that they’ve run out of the regular chilli. As its a busy weekend surely they should have enough food from the supplier this isn’t the first time it’s happened too!

If you want a mojito cocktail then it will come out of a bottle as the bar staff have no idea what to do. Nothing wrong with the draught beer though.

Great size pub, staff were so lovely and helpful despite it being busy and we loved that it's dog friendly Also outdoor space with a play area for kids!! That's was a huge bonus and reason for choosing this pub. Food was disappointing for pub food. Went to a McMillian branded pup the day before that was incredible in comparison.

The food was good, although it took quite a long time to arrive. Outside, to get down the curb, to the tarmac seating area, next to the play area, this place really needs a ramp or a drop down curb. My father had to help me down and up the curb, in my big heavy electric wheelchair, which wasn’t ideal.

I come to the plough regularly with my partner. Lovely food, lovely staff. In particular James behind the bar is amazing, always remembers our drinks order and is pleasant and welcoming always. Cannot recommend this pub enough

Rang in advance to reserve a table. We were told we'd need to be there by 4pm for Sunday lunch options, especially vegetarian. Got there at 3.30pm and no Sunday lunch options left. Had a lacklustre over priced veggie burger and chips. Staff were friendly enough and a nice beer garden, but this experience put me off.

Been to the plough a few times and have always found the atmosphere really inviting staff and management are always very polite. on this occasion I had steak and ale pie and tasted really good. will be back

My partner and I visited today at lunchtime. Very clean, good music and pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food didn't match. My partner had the fish and chips. The fish was very oily. I ordered the grill. I asked for the steak medium. Well done. I cut into the steak, and my whole plate filled with animal blood. The chicken was disgusting and full of fat. The chips looked like they were at the end of the frozen bag with just little bits of chips left. The onion ring was unusual, looking, and slapped together. I sent the meal back it which they refunded the price. My advice if you want a mixed grill. Stay well clear and get yourself to Havester. Update two hours after leaving this review >:My partner is now not feeling well after eating here.

I went for Sunday Lunch on Mothers Day with my family of 6. As you can imagine it was very busy but it didnt feel crowded and there was a very comfortable atmosphere. We waited for 1 hour 20 minutes without food arriving, only to be told it was going to take another 30 minutes more. Cancelled our order and left.

the food was poor quality, had a chicken burger, beef burger and mixed grill. the chicken burger was slimey and watery, the beef burger was dry and no flavour at all, the mixed grill, the chicken looked like it was put through a shredder and got stuck then put on a grill. the steak was undercooked, the gammon wasn't cooked, the chips were cold on all meals and the service was just as bad. Had to wait 75mins for the main meals, 30mins for drinks, and they got the drink wrong. won't be coming back to here at all. when the waitress was informed of the above she just said you had starters which is why it's taking longer, a couple next to us even said the wait and quality of food was poor .

Wonderful experience, Superb beverage.

Nice space, ample parking and decent food. The best impression was the excellent bartender who took the time to explain the ales on offer as well as the food options from the menu all while being friendly and helpful in general. Great pubs are made of outstanding staff. 👌
