The best restaurants serving British food in City of London, Westminster London

Hack & Hop has been one of the frequent after work watering holes however it has gone downhill over the last few years. It has a nice upstairs area that can be booked for small private events. Food: The menu has become a lot more limited and my favourite pork belly is no longer an option. Drink: Like the food, the Hack & Hop used to have a drinks board with a range of different craft beers on tap. Nowadays the selection is much more limited with the same beers that are at all the other nearby pubs. Service: Generally good although can be hit and miss depending on how busy it is. Price: Hack & Hop has always been slightly more expensive than other nearby pubs. This used to be compensated for the different selection of beers on tap but is now a slightly overpriced version of any other pub. Conclusion: Still a good solid pub and a great place to get a pint. It is slightly pricier than other nearby pubs but it is also a bit quieter which can make for a more enjoyable experience.

Fui al greystoke con unos amigos después del trabajo, el lugar estaba ocupado con un buen ambiente, el gerente creo que se llama Angelo era muy amable y tenía todo bajo control muy profesional

We visited the Newman arms after work this week. The staff were absolutely brilliant and so friendly. Martin looked after us when we arrived and showed us to our table that we booked upstairs. Tom was super informative and told us about the beer that was locally brewed in Walthamstow and Mike was very friendly. Would defo recommend this pub and will be coming back again after work! X

Nuestra primera visita y una experiencia fantástica significa que habrá muchos más. La comida era imaginativa , creativa y lo más importante muy sabrosa. No soy vegano ni vegetariano, pero disfruté de todos los cursos. Nuestro camarero era cortés, amable e informativo. Se disculpó diciendo que tenían poco personal, pero no era necesario.

Habíamos reservado la cena en conexión con una velada en el teatro. Entradas prepagadas a una producción musical y cerrar un prepago comida en un restaurante especializado en una cena de carne asada con todos sus detalles que había estado allí antes y yo estaba deseando mostrando mi hija la comida increíble y experiencia. El agente de reservas era Evan Evans - una agencia de buena reputación que habíamos reservado y llevado 4 tours con esa semana. Imagine nuestra sorpresa cuando llegamos a encontrar el restaurante reservado sólo 2 meses antes ya no existía. Reformas de haber ocurrido 5 meses antes. Nos aseguraron que la reserva sería respetada en el mostrador de recepción y luego de nuevo a la zona de restaurante. Nos llevaban para el teatro y no se han acostumbrado a comer bien y así estábamos bastante encantados con lo que parecía ser un encantador y renovado menú rediseño del nuevo restaurante. Elegimos el vino (no incluido en la reserva) y nos dirigimos a las opciones del menú Seleccionar dentro de los parámetros de lo explicado como domésticos de nuestra reserva - hasta ahora tan bueno. Elegimos un aperitivo para compartir y entre cada una de las Dover y el acompañamiento. El servicio era impecable, aunque sospecho que el pescado no era fresco como sabía más bien como una pecera huele rancio. . Pero luego seleccionados un intrépidos del desierto que compartimos como único era bastante abundante y me por el sabor.

Sunday lunch. Great welcome and lovely atmosphere. Lunch itself was ok, the sirloin was nicely cooked but a little tough. We lacked a lot of traditional roast veg.. parsnips, swede in particular. Roast potatoes crispy and nice. Yorkshire puds a little dry. Veg served was carrots and cabbage..ok but could be much improved. Cauliflower cheese was ok but needed more punch from the cheese. Would certainly recommend for a good Sunday lunch

Excelente y muy atento servicio, grandes conceptos de bebidas y sabrosas bebidas. También disfrutamos mucho el hecho de que nuestros asientos eran relativamente íntimos y las mesas no estaban demasiado cerca entre sí.

Vinimos para la cata de quesos y vinos. Fue una experiencia fantástica. Nuestros anfitriones eran extremadamente bien informados sobre el queso y el vino, por lo que fueron capaces de explicar todo sobre cada maridaje, y por qué cada queso fue elegido con cada vino. El queso y los vinos en sí eran deliciosos. Pensé que las porciones de queso eran muy generosas y tampoco faltaba vino. El ambiente era genial en el restaurante en sí. Realmente gran experiencia.

Merveilleuse expérience. L’accueil est très agréable, par deux dames très sympathiques. Pas de toilettes, mais possibilité de laver les mains, la cuisine délicieuse et les prix sont très abordables. Bravo pour cette cuisine simple et authentique. Nous vous recommandons chaleureusement d’y prendre un repas.

Called here on the off chance. We were lucky to get a table as the queue was huge after we'd eaten. Tasty warming food on a cold day in London. We had 2 different pies, both vegetarian, absolutely delicious. Mother mash has a quick turnaround, it's a cosy place, (not much space between tables) Really friendly staff, we would eat here again.

Personal increíblemente amable y servicial. Nos dejaron usar el espacio del sótano para una fiesta después - deliciosa comida, buena cerveza. Y luego me olvidé de mi abrigo y ellos fueron tan amables en devolvérmelo. ¡Dale a este lugar tu dinero!

Mi segunda visita aquí. Me encanta, ya que estoy fascinado y encantado por la historia del lugar. El café es sin duda de alta calidad. La experiencia del café es solo ligeramente decepcionante. Un café muy pequeño se sirve casi lo suficientemente caliente (sé que esto es probablemente deliberado para no restar sabor, pero siempre es un poco decepcionante no poder demorarse y tener que beberlo de una sola vez). Aunque la decoración de la cafetería es preciosa, se sentía un poco sucio y sin cuidado. El servicio no era particularmente amable, simplemente bien. No había pasteles en exhibición, solo un pastel solitario que parecía como si hubiera estado allí desde el día anterior. Por los precios premium, y la excelencia del café y la marca en sí, sería genial si el servicio y la limpieza fueran de primera categoría, pero solo se decepciona un poco. Sin duda seguiré regresando, ya que hay algo único en el lugar, con la esperanza de que pueda realizar su gran potencial y estar a la altura de su maravillosa historia.

Opted to sit in the lounge over the restaurant because of the decor. The bar area carries a nice vibe and chill music. As soon as you’re seated, you’re told about a minimum spend of £25. Not a big deal, because of the prices. Initial service started slow, but once I was able to order, things moved fairly well. Food was very good. Drinks were nice and came out at a decent pace. The oysters as a starter were fresh. Baby chicken for the main was a little undercooked, but I think mostly done. Tarte Tatin was smaller than used to for the price, but still tasty. As each course hit the table, a man I assume was the manager, stopped by shortly after to see how things were. A nice touch as makes you feel they care about quality control. Would def go back, and I recommend it to all whether for drinks or a posh meal.
