After a lovely evening at the theatre I wanted a cocktail before we got the train home. I have had drinks and food at the Rockwell bar on a number of occassions but yesterday we got treated very badly but a rude member of staff at the Rockwell. The bar manager continued to argue with my family group ( of ladies ) as ‘ we had already had a drink before hand ‘ To then be told wasn’t able to have a drink there even after we was served water and had ordered. Then asked to leave like and had to get our things and go. Very rude, patronising and embarrassing situation for me and my family. For that I will not be returning not recommending this bar to anyone and you can definitely get better service elsewhere.

Het is misschien wel eerder 3,5 maar dat gaat niet :) Het is er mooi, groen en ruim. Het eten was wel lekker maar de cocktails vonden we prijzig voor het kleine glaasje dat we kregen. Er zijn echt wel betere restaurants voor die prijs.

Best Cocktails and Sunday roast at Trafalgar Square London - been here with my other Japanese friends and the taste is absolutely on point!

Had a lovely afternoon Tipple. The food was better than we were expecting. The cocktails however were way too strong/overpowering. Couldn't drink the first one or last one but the middle two were OK/nice. Lovely decor and nice atmosphere. The service was very good. But didn't like that it wasn't the same person waiting on us, it was about 5 different people (the place was basically empty ) But overall I'd recomend coming here

Booked here for drinks for after our theatre show on a very hot and muggy Sunday evening. It was starting to really cloud over and there was a thunderstorm warning which we thought would end with our reservation being cancelled! But the staff here are friendly, fun and chatty even though they were ran off their feet and only added to the relaxed happy vibe. There is a minimum spend on the terrace which is easy enough to achieve as we were looking to order some sharing plates. Also as an added bonus Whispering Angel one of my favourite, is on promo this summer with a few interesting cocktails added to the menu. The food was really tasty and colourful and the cocktail delicious. Hope to stop by again on my next London visit.

Visited with a group of friends post-theatre. House cocktails were…fine. Ordered a few off menu (nothing weird, cosmopolitans) and got absolute rubbish. They just need to say if they can’t make anything beyond the very basics. Expensive and wouldn’t go again.

We stayed at the St James hotel where the Rockwell is part of. We have eaten breakfast every day here and it has been awesome. Tons of options in the buffet. Service is great! We also have been having a drinks and dessert every nite. Their apple crumble might be the most amazing thing ever! And their drinks! They have the most beautiful mixed drinks, and options, I have seen. The overall ambiance is lovely with cool velour-like benches and greenery….almost like a palm springs, palm tree vibe and I love it!

I went here for my birthday and I honestly wish I hadn't. From walking in, no one gave us service to take us to our table : the doorman from outside came in to find us our table even though there were 2 women at the front looking after one man, clearly seeing we were standing there. Our drinks came fine and the house white wine was actually really lovely. We ordered our food; my friend found hair in her chips and my other friend ordered a steak medium-well and it came back medium-rare, that is a huge difference. By this time our sides hadn't arrived either. They sent their meals back which meant we all ate at different times, I am a type 1 diabetic and took my insulin accordingly to my meal, it arrived but because I was so fixated on ensuring my friends' meals were ok I didn't realise that my Chicken Milanese was so rock solid, I had to then ask for a steak knife. More commotion happened because we'd now finished our drinks and wanted something for our meals and so my friend went to the bar to ask for some service as there was no staff around. By this time, I was upset that I couldn't eat let alone drink and had taken my insulin. We asked for the manager, who was so rude.He did not allow us to speak and kept getting defensive, to the point where my friends swore (in conversation, not at him) by which he took as we were swearing at him...he then said we were looking for a free meal. At which point I got really angry because I was not using my diabetes in vain to get a free meal - if I didn't eat in time I would need an ambulance. I took out my insulin pen to prove it which I didn't need to. We asked for the bill, we asked him to bring it which he didn't. His waiter who was so lovely and listened to us - brought us the bill with everything except my meal. We asked for it to be changed as we did not agree. They took my meal, wine and sides out. But we did not need this attitude or bad service. It was not even busy that night. Absolutely horrible experience.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Terrible service and the restaurant manager was beyond rude and sexist. Definitely the WORST dining experience I’ve ever had in london. A group of us (5 total) went for a friend’s birthday dinner. Our starters arrived much later than the mains, very hard to flag down a waiter even though it wasn’t the busy, a friend found hair in her food. All foods were replaced accordingly but at different times, so majority of the table ate at different times. After 5 complaints we decided to speak to the manager who was apologetic but not really listening or didn’t seem to take care in the service - he then said “you just want a free meal” and stormed off. This was extremely upsetting, and we were obviously very offended - all of us being working professionals from London who wouldn’t have chosen a restaurant we couldn’t afford to eat at. Called him back again to explain himself and he accused my friend of trying to record him (she was not recording him) and then accused me of swearing at him, which I did not. He told another friend off for going to the bar to ask a barman for some service (he accused her of shouting at a barman, which she didn’t) - she had gone to the bar to ask for service because it was nearly impossible to get any. I mentioned to him that one of our group was a type 1 diabetic and took her insulin shot in time for food arrival - which was bad and needed to be sent back, her replacement meal took some time, and he told me not to make sarcastic jokes about it… when the bill arrived, diabetic meal was taken off and because of the accusation of trying to get a free meal was so offensive, we asked for the manager to bring the bill himself, as he did not acknowledge nor apologize for this remark. He did not bring the bill, but we got an alternative bill with sides and wine removed. Didn’t feel like a sincere apology was offered nor solution to the mistreatment of customers. Overall the experience was terrible and would definitely not recommend to anyone, whether they are guests at the hotel or just dining for the evening. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Beautiful venue. Friendly staff. Lovely cocktails that were different from the norm. At £20 a drink - maybe a bit pricey but so glad we popped in.

We enjoyed our evening here. The service and staff were second to none. The cocktails were great and the food, especially the Vegan steak, where fantastic. Great location and lovely décor, can't complain!

I went with friends for a Christmassy afternoon tea. We had booked a non-alcoholic cocktail option. Initially we were brought an alcoholic cocktail, however this was rectified. We were not very keen on the mocktails. They seemed like odd pairings of juices and purees. This is not anyone's fault, just personal preference. We decided to get prosecco instead which suited us better. After a while (not sure how long it was if I am honest, as we were busy chatting), a waiter came over and informed us that the finger sandwiches and cakes will take a little while longer because of some sort of mix-up. A few minutes after that, another person came over and informed us that the meal will be on the house as the extended delay is not acceptable to their standards. In about 20 minutes the meal was served and everything was great (not keen on the mince pies - again though, personal preference). The staff were great throughout the evening and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Would definitely go back.

My husband and I were staying at The Trafalgar and popped in for a cocktail before heading out for dinner and wow, what amazing cocktails! We only wished we had more time to try more cocktails! They were so good we went back for breakfast...

Very average - didn’t seem like a 5 star hotel bar. No ambience and no intimate feeling. Service also very average - we asked someone to check snout a rooftop table and nobody came back to us so we left. Wouldn’t go back to the...

Very much enjoyed dinner at The Rockwell. The service was great and the staff was knowledgeable about the food they served as well as the bar service. Look forward to returning on a future trip.

As guests at the Trafalgar we loved having breakfast every morning at the Rockwell (obviously very convenient) . Tremendous assortment at the continental buffet to suit any picky eater. Loved the assortment of coffees! We did order off the menu a couple of times but...

Just about 200meters from Trafalgar Square Lovely interior with tropical interior of Fake plants, tropical themed curtains. Amazing cocktails- both the Winston and the centrepiece. Food- sharing plates, small bite size dishes, some overpriced :it’s 3 dishes for £35- so best to order in threes....

Great bar with some interesting flavors in cocktails. A special thanks to the bartenders for their warm, engaging and knowledge service as it really made the evening better.

Went to Rockwell for cocktails with the girls and I was really inspired by the story telling of each cocktail we chose. The Service was superb and the venue is Beautiful!

This is my second time that I have visited this bar. The cocktails are great especially the signature ones as well as the team. Their attentiveness made my visit feel special.

The venue is very nice and it is busy but the staff are very helpful. The cocktails are great! I suggest you to try the Winston or the Battle!!!
