This is a very cost effective restaurant in London WC2B that is close to my office. Fast cafe food with a wide range of food choice, full English breakfasts, Pasta dishes, jcket potatoes, Sandwiches, Salads, almost anything you wish to have. The staff are hard working and fun. Students from the LSE pack the place and it's not always easy to get a table during the lunch rush hour but fear not, you can always take your food back to your office, as we sometimes do. If you are in the WC2B area it's worth a visit, Benni will offer you a warm welcome, the quality is good cafe food and is really good value for money.

I go there for lunch with work friends on a Friday and the 'man in charge' takes orders, delivers food and at the end takes payment without writing anything down! And we are talking about a cafe that seats at a rough guess 50 and he'll perform this magic with queues of people. He is a wonder! Friendly, happy place. Good value cafe fare. Can get busy but worth a wait to get a table. Very highly recommend. Thanks Amici - you make our Fridays, Collette (and Bernice, Tracey & Zoe) :)

Good for a quick grab or bite during lunch. The restaurant gets very busy during lunch. It is not easy to get seats during lunch time. You order, eat and then pay later at the counter. I wish it didn't happen but unfortunately I had an unpleasant experience here. On February 2, 2017 at around 13.50 to 14.00 PM, I entered the store and ordered a takeout pasta (Spaghetti Bolognese along with a bottle of orange juice) to go. I didn't know where to wait so I was just standing near the till with some other customers waiting to pay for my food after I had ordered. The man behind the till beckoned and waved towards me and another customer in quite a rude manner trying to get us to move away as he probably thought we were blocking the till. I believe he could have asked us nicely as the cafe was crowded at the time and we didn't realise there were customers waiting behind us. After my food arrived, I tried to get some plastic forks and spoons from the box of utensils on the counter before the same man behind the till slapped my hand and said there are already utensils in the takeout box. He then looked through the box and realised they weren't there before saying to me: "You are in trouble now, aren't you?" At the end of the day, I don't think I deserved to be hit and treated in such a rude manner by him, regardless of whether there were utensils in the takeout box.

Stumbled across this cafe looking for a quick bite before seeing Beautiful at the Aldwych (a brill' musical, see it if you get the chance). A simple & un-pretentious little cafe, simple & filling Italian dishes. Attentive service, reasionable quality food & very keenly priced for middle of London. Am planning to eat here again, when we see Charlie at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, just round the corner.

I’ve visited the Caffé Amici a couple of times previously for a coffee, and thought it looked a good place for lunch. So I wasn’t disappointed when I needed a quick lunch somewhere near the LSE the other day. The foccacio with roast vegetables was first class, and arrived extremely quickly, together with a coffee. The cafe was reasonably quiet when I arrived around 12:45, but quickly became busy - it’s obviously a popular place. Incidentally, for orders under £5, there is a small surcharge for using a credit card – 15p, I think the server said. (I paid cash instead, and left a tip instead!) It’s now on my list of places for a good quick lunch in the Aldwich/Kingsway area.

Do not even approach this filthy den. The regulars are homeless people and tourists. Ham in giabatta was grey and stunk, it was off by quite a few days, no mayo in egg mayo either. I had a breakfast there last weekend. The food was plentiful. The guy who served me seemed like a nice guy and the food came quickly. The orange juice which came with the breakfast was very good indeed, especially for the price. Personally I thought the sausages seemed quite poor quality with very little taste. The fried eggs also had completely cooked yolks, almost like a Russian breakfast - I prefer mine at least a little runny. The bacon was generous. The toast came with some sort of spread already on it - I'd foolishly forgotten to check this first, my mistake. Overall, if you want a big meal on a tight budget in central London, this probably makes sense.

I often visit Amicis in Kingsway as it is very close to my office. This is a quick service cafe serving great breakfasts and a wide choice of tasty lunches. The star of the show is Benni, he is entertaining and very welcoming to everyone who steps inside his establishment. I don't know how they cope with their lunch time trade, Benni takes the orders, shouts them through to the kitchen (he does write them down when extremely busy) and a single waitress delivers the food/drink. Prices are low, the students from the LSE pack into Amicis at lunch time, confirmation of the quality and cost. If you are in or around Covent Garden pop in and meet Benni, you won't be disappointed.

If you want a large breakfast for a low cost, this is the place for you. Don't expect a 4 star restaurant; be realistic. This is true value for money. The two of us went into an empty cafe around 11am one Monday and ordered the full English breakfast. In a very short time, we each received a plate with 2 fried eggs, 2 rashers of bacon, baked beans, 2 small sausages and tomato (the only part I didn't like as it was a whole canned tomato). Shortly after, a slice of thick buttered toast arrived for each of us. When we ordered our coffee, I fully expected us to be charged extra (as we asked for cappuccino as our coffee) but this was provided in large mugs at no additional charge. All this for Pds 4.90. Fantastic value.Wifi: while the cafe didn't appear to have wifi, I found I could log onto " the cloud" wifi service provided by other chain outlets that seemed to be in range.

From the cleaning staff, front desk, concierge, doorman, and all of the personnel in the restaurants and bars, every single person was very polite very helpful and very accommodating throughout the 10 days that we stayed there. Each evening after we returned from our daily activities, we were greeted like family.
